Started out promising, but the plot becomes messy after the Star Temple. Author did poorly at plot progression and conflicts management. He did a lot of "axed arc", where MC will drop whatever he is trying to solve at the current arc and proceed to next arc. After about 2+ arcs later, he'll then come back and solve it (or it is already solved by itself).

Here's one of the few examples:

Spoiler
  1. One of MC (potential) girl is kidnapped inside ice crystal and her master was killed by a young sect master
  2. MC dives into that dimension to get her back as well as revenge them
  3. He made friends with opposite sect, who planned to help him free the girl
  4. When they went to intercept the villain
  5. A random ice spirit appears who has some relation with ice crystal, so she just easily recalled the ice crystal from the sect master, and she went to another dimension.
  6. MC go back to his home dimension and proceed to another dimension for another arc...
  7. Still the girl isn't saved yet, and MC is off to another story
[collapse]

As for romance:

Spoiler

There are little to no romance. Author makes it seems as if MC do a lot romance, but in actuality there's none. The early girls in first few hundred chapters never reappear again other than few mentioning. His current girlfriend rarely appear in recent chapters, as well as their honeymoon time. In addition to that, author describes MC as passionate about love and "want to capture offender". However, over the course of years, he rarely care to visit his girlfriends and only care about cultivation. In other word, MC's action and author description are totally off.

Biggest letdown among the novels I read. The author was superb during the first half of the story, and he destroyed the novel during the second half. In my opinion, the author has a lot of issues with his own ego, self-conscious, and overthinking.

The first half was great story building with a lot of good characterization and potentially foreshadowing. A lot of characters were introduced with more than one dimension villains. MC strives up to fight against his destiny while being able to overcome trouble with his calm personality.

The second... more>> half was a letdown. Promising characters that are built over hundred of chapters are killed without any significant involvement to the story. Some characters are thrown out of the door, while others turned into comic relief. The final conflict was solved within few chapters in the most unconvincing way.

Author has issue with overthinking. He footnotes that he scrapped up a plot and rewrite it many time to make it seems "not cliche" or "new" to the audience. However, the plot turns out very weird, and logically doesn't make sense. Some character interactions become forceful to make the author "resolve the conflict" in a "new" way. Author also have a lot of issue with his self-ego where he just "ditch the romance that was built for 1000+ chapters" because of "I already have a lot of novels that ended like this". Basically speaking, the author cut out the reader's expectation to just "make this novel different".

Spoiler

MC and heroine are hinted to be in love for 1000+ chapters. During the midstory, they have talks about marriage engagement as well as how heroine family will oppose. Yet, in the end, they do not marry because MC doesn't want to "drink" and heroine doesn't want to have "kid".

After all foreshadowing of this relationship, they abruptly stopped it at the end of the novel due to reason (per author's interview) that he "already have a lot of novels with good ending".

[collapse]

This is absurd. This shows that author has either creativity block or bad decision making. Most of his story is based upon trying to make "something new" or "something creative", which kills the story itself. If author was able to let go of his ego and reuse some plots, then it'd have been a better novel. <<less

Leveling Up And Becoming Undefeatable

Badly written novel overall. It is also a very frustrating read.

Spoiler

Most of the plots are "repetitive", "arrogant", and "cursing". All of villains are one dimensional, and there are many time where MC will have to kneel or beg the villain to let his women go. Some of the elements that brought up early in the stories are completely discarded.

The author very like to prolong the plot for sake of milking money. For example, a conflict that could've ended in 300 chapters are postpone to nearly the end of the story. By the mid of the book, you always Then the resolution of the conflict is mediocre, destroying all the building up climax.

The system (and parody) are actually the interesting point. However, there are many cases where Author just choose to drop some conflict or

[collapse]

Spoiler

Plot:
A lot of badly written and prolonging stories. The author was "definitely" trying to milk up money. Some of the conflict are created unreasonably, especially with kidnapping the girls.

1) Xue'er, the main girl, is pursued since the start of the story (chapter 3). However, they actually end up together (truly together) by the end of the story (chapter 2000+).

At the beginning of story, MC was going to get her back at the arranged marriage. Then about ~800 chapters, the marriage happened. MC managed was going to save her, but she was poisoned by with some soul poison. To cure that MC has to break through to above realm (2nd). He went to above realm and find no antidote to poison until he became King of that realm (2nd) at around ~1500. He went back with cure and found out that 30000 years has passed and Xue'er (and other girls) are grasped by God King from above realm (3rd). So, he went there and get himself into to peak and got the girls back at around ~1800. They reunited briefly, then he was killed and sent back to Earth by the ULTRA MEGA BOSS whatsoever. He spent another 200 chapters to get back. Then we have no more scenes, MC is busy trying to beat the bosses. Axed ending then happened at 2150.

2) Yi Yunmeng girl was poisoned at around 900~1000 chapters. She was actually cured around the end of the arc (~1500).
At the start, the poison was made as if very dangerous (break her face + her cultivation). MC seeks all around to just cure her poison, and she was badly injured by it. Later on, it was suppressed to the point that she has her face back and her cultivation restored to a degree. She then works like normal girl as if there's no poison at all. By 1500, the poison is just briefly mentioned as cured, as if it isn't a big deal anymore.

Relationship:
1) Relationship with his girls are considerably good at first. However, most of the girls are one dimensional and ultimately "damsel in distress". They never have power to fend off themselves, can only either 1) kneel beg for MC's life or compromise with villain or 2) shout MC name for rescue. They will be kidnapped a lot. I mean A LOT. It is very frustrating to see how weak the plot is. You'll find it very common scenario: MC gets the girl. MC went to another place. MC went back and the girl is kidnapped.

2) There are some of the early girls (realm 1) that are totally thrown out of the windows after the Author built their relationship early in the story (0~500 chapters). Basically, MC went back to realm 1 (1500~ chapter) and found out that the whole realm was destroyed. He started with 10 girls in the realm, he only left with 3. The other 7 girls that he was romantically involved (a lot of scenes during 100~500 chapters) are KILLED. The other 3 are kidnapped by Gods from above realm (realm 3). I don't get why

Writing:
Writing is pretty bad. Author uses a lot of curse word such as "Your daddy" "F**k" "MotherF**ker" etc. Sometime, the author totally skip scenes between chapters. For example, chapter XX is about MC striking down a boss. Chapter XX+1 is about MC going to shopping weapons in a town. There's a hugeee gap between some of the chapters.

[collapse]

Finally, the author is very begging and complaining about not getting enough monthly ticket. You will get that in every chapters. This shows that not enough readers to feed him really. <<less

EDIT: I decided to drop this novel. I admitted I once praise this novel for unconventional approach. I really enjoy the the first hundred chapters. However, it seems like author has lost his track (or change his direction) from his original intention at around ~400 chapters in.

The premise of this novel is very interesting: a blinded protagonist turning himself into powerhouse with his wisdom and chance. However, after the early arcs ended, the novel itself becomes "blinded" from its original direction. Instead of further development of the main characters... more>> (power, personalities, relationships etc), it becomes a political novel. Cultivation becomes subtle subject. Instead, you can expect a lot of battle of reasoning and logic. The MC will make concessions, arguments, and leveraging other people power for his uses.

The utmost frustrating thing about this novel is MC is "taken advantage of" by many kings and sovereigns. Those people will repudiate debt, take MC hostages, and force MC to work for them. Yet, MC does not take revenge or kill them off, because he deems it as "bad political move".

In conclusion, this novel is totally political, so you can expect a lot of bad guys being spared and good guy being oppressed. MC will turn down his vengeance on bad guys, spare them, and let them comeback as cockroach villains. The reason for doing this is just... politics. Bringing down kings would collapse the kingdom and harm the balance of power. <<less

UPDATE: I decided to drop this after the new arc. It has be another big letdown. The common theme of this novel becomes "a hype train into a big crash". You can expect a lot of promising stuffs such as expected reunion, expected retaliation, and expected superior MC comeback. All to end because of some forceful plots (very forced) where the author want to make MC becomes hopeless just to pull another rabbit out of hat to save him. This is common recurring theme. Everything is "unexpected", because "anything can... more>> happen" (even if it's deus ex machina). It was once one of the best xuanhuan novel I've read, until the new arc. The early arc composed of MC rising up. He gains treasures, gains power, then beat off enemies with that new found power.

However, the new arc was rushed. MC was forced to jump like 6~7 realms of level within limited time. Therefore, what happened is our powerless MC is being thrown around by powerful guys. Not only did he become trouble magnet, he also become hopeless and powerless. This is not a "heroic" novel, but rather just let "other/armor save your ass". <<less

A very slow start, but one thing to note is the MC is very villainous. MC have OP power since start, and he simply go by the flow and grows larger without much obstacle. The real world are more interesting than the game world, because MC in real world is pretty weak and he has to struggle. However, MC turn completely into different person when he is in game world.

You can expect a lot of parody, mainly characters from Ancient Chinese history, Chinese game, etc. You can expect a lot... more>> violent, s*xism, heavy Chinese nationalism, etc.

Spoiler

MC will slaughter country after country just to expand his lands. His goal is to dominate the (game) world. On the other hand, he would force the enemy girl from country which he wiped out their entire clan to be his "concubine" just to gain some "game merit". They are treated as lower than slave, where they would be imprisoned forever since MC only care about the merits. When one of them tried to revolve, she was stripped naked in front of everyone just for the humiliation.

There will be a lot of netori. Where the MC will force (or clan will force) girls who already have their husbands or lovers to become his "concubine". Even married women with kids. Some of them will give up own husband for MC, since that's how ancient world works (?) when women are up against a tyrant. Later on, MC does "rape" girl casually by using some sort of aphrodisiac finger skill just to get information or make the girl turn into his slave.

For instance, there's one scene where he aphrodisiac-rape an enemy maidservant, so that the maidservant would let him into a female general house. Then he aphrodisiac-rape the female general, so that she would let him into the empress palace. Then he aphrodisiac-rape the empress so that she would turn against the emperor and side him (and give him her daughter).

*Do not believe reviewers who read less than 200 chapters. The real story started at 200+. Trust me.

One of the best "xianxia/harem" novel you can ever find. You will be exploring a lot of xianxia elements----reincarnation, universe, life, death, emotion, etc--- and development of each characters, namely the girls.

A lot of the heroines background and story do intertwine deeply with MC's journey. Every girls MC met have their own circumstances and backgrounds story to be told.

Adult genre is big in the original version. However, author did remove most of the... more>> explicit part in latest edition due to aggressive censor law in 2016. Harem is done better than average harem, no girls are ever forgotten--- but sometime it takes time before MC actually get to meet them again.

One of the good reason for reading this novel is consistency and understanding of xianxia world by author himself.

  • There are lucky encounter, but there are no sudden nerf/buff to MC just to "spice up the boss fight". MC can sometime annihilate the boss in one blow OR just abuse every treasures he has in his arsenal.
  • Realm level is not the absolute determining factor for strength difference, and there are many many other factors... contrary to common people belief.
  • Not all men are perverts. In fact, most of old dudes who live for 10000+ years could care less about women, rather they care much more about gaining absolute power and longevity.
  • There aren't many cliche young master that "suddenly see MC's women and want to rape them on first sight". Most of them would prey on women for cultivation or political power. There are some with attempt to woo the girls out of looks, but they are not as dumb to taint their sect reputation by attempting assault. In fact, some even disgusted with the fact that they are forced (by their sect) to woo with non-virgin girl.

This is one of the most controversial novel. All aspects regarding the novel itself--- plot, story, lore, writing-fluency--- are definitely top-notch. However, all aspects regarding the author--- laziness, arrogance, falsehood, misconduct, shamelessness--- are definitely among the worsts.

For Novel aspects, The storytelling is entertaining (even though, it is rushed a bit after the ascend), and the writing style is just at the right level for shounen reader. The story never presents too many information to overwhelm readers nor too little information to make the novel boring. Each turn of events are... more>> entertaining to read and leave out great satisfaction after each arcs.

For Author, shameless would be the right word to describe him. First of all, he had never finished any of his past novels (every one of them went on hiatus), and he always find a fake excuse to quit on them (one being his parents are in hospital, etc). Later, the community found out that he wrote a different novel under different penname. He gets bored quickly with writing and will rush his plots.

TDG suffered the same fate. After TDG becomes widely popular to the point it gets anime and manhwa, the author started dropping novel. His past speed of 1 chap per day (standard CN novel rate) becomes 1 chap per month. He's more prioritized in every other stuffs related to his novel except for his novel.

So, if you want to get frustrated by the author himself, then you can try this novel. <<less

Latest update.

ED has turned from 2/5 to 1/5 for me now. I'd give it 0/5, if possible.

If you do not know this yet, this novel simply exists just to make author money. You will experience repetition of plots, aimless adventure, and aimless killing.

... more>> The author will shamelessly copy-edit-paste dialogues. Expect same type of villains to appear every 100 chapters (and I honestly am not exaggerating). Same type of girls, who are thrown around like animals by MC. Same expression, dialogue, and vocabulary ("ants", "bang", "crank").

90% of the time, MC has one emotion, which is "smile lightly" or "smile faintly" or "sigh faintly". We never get to explore him more than just that. Villains and girl villains are all boiled down to 1) arrogant guys / girls, 2) submissive and shy girls, 3) Arrogant old dudes, 4) Submissive old dudes.

You may enjoy first 500 chapters, but after that it's on downhill.

Spoiler

At ch. 3300~, MC finally going to battle the big boss after he digressed from his main objective for long. In one chapter, MC got wiped out clean.... reborn 1 million years later and restart his cultivation over again. Basically, start from 0 as if 3300 never happens (all characters are gone, MC cultivation and preparation for the last 3300 chapters are gone).... What??

This is ultimately a faceslap by author on readers.

For so long, author has been making money out of ED. Then as ED is reaching the end of its life. He just reset it so he can continue making more money. That's enough to say it all.

Everlasting Immortal Firmament

Status: Completed
This novel is great at the beginning due to different approach to xianxia such as smart planning and usage of military stratagem for success. However, it becomes cliche and one-dimensional toward the end-story.

The first few volumes brilliantly portrayed the smartness of MC. However, later on, MC rarely comes up with any smart planning. He becomes somebody relying on third party ally, luck, and treasures. On the other hand, he always get tricked by villain (especially when it come to girl-hostage situation).

I wouldn't say he's "dumb" toward the end, but he... more>> isn't smart either. From the building up the story, you'd expect him to come up with some "mind blown" planning to get out of tough situation. However, instead, you get a plot where MC has to bargain with villain OR a plot armor kick in to rescue MC.

Spoiler

MC keep using same methodology that we see in volume 1. Other than this type of planning, MC never excel in anything else. He failed many time to brilliantly rescue his girls and ended up being the loser.

It gets to the point where if MC girls are capture, MC will have to bargain the enemy. He usually follow the bargain and get "reneged promise" by villain. Sometime, he could ended up being lied to by villain many time that it ended up in injury or death of his girls (but... they can be resurrected!) OR some plot armor kicked in to save the day.

Toward the end, you can expect a lot of re-usage of plots. I can't stretch this enough. You'll find a lot of

  • Girls being captured (or her soul is captured)... happened like at least 2~3 times per girl
  • MC always get tricked when bargain with villain (they never keep promise... obviously duh)
  • Same villain keep coming back (lit. being resurrected)
  • Enemies turn into totally loyal allies
  • Friends turn into enemies (I wouldn't say allies, but they are good friends who turn into enemies for not-so-good reasoning)

Don't be blinded by synopsis. The actual story is different from description. The people who commented on this as a good reading never really read to latest chapters. The author only cares about milking the plot, and he will reuse (or forced reuse) plots.

Spoiler

For example, his underdog story. For example, his wives being brainwashed or kidnapped or disappeared are used for over several times. I do not exaggerated this

  1. He found out his wife is brainwashed.
  2. He spent 500 chapters to find a way to save her
  3. His wife reunion for a brief scene
  4. The mastermind pops out and reapply brainwash

It's been... around 2k chapters since we first discovers her. She has been cured and rebrainwashed for at least 3 times. As of ch3373, she is still in brainwashed state and can't recalled MC. MC is still trying to find a cure for her.

This is an example of many plot being repeated.

Other than that, wife disappearing. When she is found, she was forced to disappear by some random reason within hundred chapters after she is found. Now they are still missing..

MC is always underdog, even if his cultivation is the same as enemy. He will always be in backfoot, even though all "heavenly defying" techniques he has. For example, some guy of same realm as him can mindcontrol his wife from miles away, while he can't do anything about it and is subjected to his overwhelming power.

I hope I can provide some insight on whether you should pickup this novel.

This novel is not for a casual wuxia (defined as "martial hero") and romance harem reader. This novel is a slow paced, political drama set in wuxia world with martial and assassin fights. Our MC is a calm head strategist that will resort to assassination, dirty scheme, and political moves. He will not fight head on with the enemy.

The romance in this novel is subtle at best. Even though early on MC seems like he wants to... more>> pick every girls, he later changes into stoic MC with "loyal to love interest" type. A lot of girls will end up as friends or acquaintances, only very few will be in his lovers. MC is not center of universe, so there'll be political move which he made that is for the benefit of his ally. He will encourage political marriage, will make deal with his worst enemies, will breakup relationship for common benefits.

Ultimately, this is a novel for a reader who is interested in wuxia political drama with calm and cunning protagonist. <<less

LLS is a novel about a boy who transported to another world, where the core elements of this world are summon and grimoire. It is a mixture of Chinese xianxia and Western lore. He made a lot of girlfriends and wives along the way. The underlying tone of this novel is pretty warmhearted and comedic rather than serious and dark. The main attraction point of this novel is actually relationship between MC and girls.

As a harem novel written by a female author, it does give a good taste of female... more>> characterization. Instead of an army of one-dimensional and cliche heroines, each female have interesting personality and complexity. This novel doesn't exhibit the usual "s*xist stereotype" that we've seen in most Chinese harem novel. Most female are capable to handle their own growth, their own lives, and their own problems. Furthermore, they do have strong desire and goal like any other males. <<less

Story about a man who gets game system to survive apocalypse. He travel between places and try to fight his way through the mutant as well as behind the scene manipulators.

The story is full of gore and biological reference. Game element parts was big in early part of story, but wasn't that important in latter part of story. The story tone starts with MC who fight for survival and self. However, by the end of the novel, MC becomes more like a strict soldier on duty rather than selfish MC.... more>> He turned into a soldier who would discard his love for duty of mankind.

Early Romance is a harem with a lot of lust from MC. However, by the end, it is basically one of the tragedy.

Spoiler

At first, it starts with lust. It becomes love through mid-story. However, by the end, he eventually lost all interest in his wives. He had been on his own lone crusade against alien and on a mission to create living environment for mankind. His changes come from the fact that he kept evolving into "4-dimensional" being, which makes him lost all carnal desire and sense of kinship. By the end of story, all his wives passed away (except one) without seeing him for over 30 years. They all lived in a peaceful homeland, yet died with regret.

The only one alive actually sent him a message (30 years ago) asking about when he'll be home. She rejected to see him when he actually came back, due to how much he left them out. Afterward, she is never mentioned again (presumably they never reconcile until she died).

Basically it's a price to pay for MC, because he eventually lost all his sense of humanity and kinship. He didn't feel attached to his wives anymore after all these 4d war and evolution. In the end, he became a Godlike figure, but at the cost of losing everything that is important to his past humanity.

[collapse]

By the end of the story, I feel it isn't a good "tragedy" piece due to the fact that story tone was geared toward overcoming personal obstacle rather than a personal sacrifice for greater good. Eventually, MC lost his initial goal and turns into some machine that exists to finish the final boss. <<less

The story planning is good, but execution is bad. The story has a great, ambitious plan, but ultimately it failed to create a good storytelling or plot progression. There are a lot of long-lengthy side stories which eventually bored out the reader. You can expect the MC's airtime to be less than 40% of the novel, because author will often lost himself in a large side-story arc, in which the MC doesn't have a role in that arc.

The romance is there, but there aren't many scenes between them. Mostly are... more>> overshadowed by the plot itself. Ultimately, this novel ended in rush-ending. Everything is resolve in 2 chapters out of nowhere. <<less

World Defying Dan God
July 22, 2018
Status: Completed
This is a light-hearted novel read. To be honest, you can even put slice of life. The most entertaining part would be dan making (even more than fighting).

There are not many goal for MC other doing dan and cultivations. There will be no central objectives such as "Slay the demons" or "Go against fate" or "Save the dying world". Rather, MC will find out new threat over the course, while his goal is to just get powerup. His crisis is usually in form of being stuck in different world and... more>> trying to get back. That's where his adventure comes from

And yes, there are many many worlds. The common recurring story is after he've been to a new world, he'd be back to revisit the girls THEN go to newer world for a new mission.

Honestly, romance is pretty normal. I'd say 3/5. There will be a lot of forgotten women and a lot of shorten conversation. However, everybody are fine and there never been that big threat on their lives. They all act in-love when around MC, so I could say that it's pretty one-dimensional.

Ending is honestly a rushed one. However, the lifespan of the novel is already prolonged to the point where rushed ending isn't an "axed" ending (you don't feel unsatisfied when there's nothing to be satisfied). The author had tried to add arcs after arcs to the point where you hope it ended earlier.

This is a light read for me. If you don't expect anything much other than casual CN faceslap, dan making, lovey-dovey girls, etc. Then it won't be any problem. <<less

The story is about a modern guy who transport into scholar that is being married to wife's family. This is set in alternative Song Dynasty with a lot of wuxia elements. For example, there are major characters from Water Margin's Liangshan making appearances.

In early part of novel, the story is basically slow Slice of Life. Most of the time are spent on idle literature, conversation, and romance. MC stayed low key and tried not to be involved in any family business or politics or country problems. In latter part of... more>> novel, the plot turns into a war and politics novel. MC settle a lot of conflicts with force and strategy. There will be a lot of tragedy surrounding many characters.

Spoiler

The harem waifus are safe and fine. Most of them will be at the base, so they won't participate in war. Only some capable wuxia girl will follow MC occasionally. There is not many conflicts between waifus, rather they are all focused on the war rather than family conflict.

Candidate harem members really have it hard though. One is married politically by her family (though they never sleep together I think), and her family is part of the royal of this dying dynasty. Most her family is basically dead by latest chap I read. Another one turns into sour relationship with MC because of her ideology to save the current dynasty, which ultimately a futile attempt. Then there's one more, if you count, that internally admires MC but hates him for killing her family-- so she's with enemy camp (i think)

[collapse]

Overall, I think Author didn't do well with the transition. He tend to stick to his old tendency of slice-of-life writing on this new war phase. For example, he spent too many text on side characters just to build him up, while MC turns into "one of many characters". I dislike this methodology, since I am more interested in MC than the enemies and 3rd party forces. <<less

I Have a Mansion in the Post-apocalyptic World
February 10, 2019
Status: c322
As of what I have read so far.

The novel is about modern day MC who found a device that can travel between his modern present and a parallel, apocalyptic future. He exploits this device to create his own empire in both worlds. His objective is to build a home in the apocalyptic world and business empire in present world. The novel has two settings to it. One side is future world, which is a mix of apocalypse, zombies, sci-fi, city-building, etc. The other side is present world, which is a... more>> mix of politics, assassination, family, crimes, etc. This novel is a harem btw. However, the novel spent more time on "relationship" part rather than "catch her" part.

IMO, it can be boring at first, due to a lot of stuff being thrown at the readers. Including uncanny way of how MC gets to be in relationship. However, the relationship doesn't stop with the bed (or she isn't forgotten after being bedded), rather it is extended beyond so. I personally like how later girls are gradually introduced instead of being thrown at MC face "for sake of harem". MC did not try to "catch'em all", rather he ended up with only some that spent a lot of time with him.

PS: A lot of positive comments from lnmtl readers who actually finished this novel. This is rare considering how novel usually falls off toward the end. <<less

The story is very slow, and the author is obsessed with political traits such as recurring villains (or "cockroach" villains), betrayals, spies, behind-the-scene manipulator, and a lot of dramas. The piece lacks a lot of character development and human relationship. There are too many focuses on human aspect of cunning, evil mind, and feeling of betrayal/vengeance... to the point where it becomes a cliche.

You can expect a lot of conflicts... more>> after conflicts (after conflicts) popping up every chapters. There is no downtime for this novel. In fact, enemies will always find a new way to trouble MC life every 3~5 chapters. MC will be on a ride with no brake... It's a stream of problems one after another, while villains will live to fight another day.

Spoiler

After desperately solved some enemy (who ended up not dying for the 5th time... seriously), MC finally going to wed his girl.

However, during wedding, another old (cockroach) enemy, so MC has to deal with him. Then right on the next chapter, a completely new enemy appears just to supports that old enemy. MC fights and kills their minions while both of them escaped (once again) and vow (again) to fight another day.

MC finally sleep with his girl, but right after the night... somehow the girl shows some weird sign. Her physique (related to cooking pill) aura becomes exposed to the point where she lures in more new OP enemies. More people flood in, and MC has to deal with that.

Right after MC dealt with that, one of his ally died, and that guy's father want to cook MC's girl into pill to rescue his son, so MC has to fight this OP father.... and MC went into coma.

The wife panicked since she can't solve MC coma, so her aunt found a sect that would give her pill in exchange of taking her as saintress for some vague mission that estimate to take a long time (we donno how true this is yet). She accepted but does not let anybody tell MC about her whereabout. After feeding MC, she's gone without trace.

MC woke up and thought that his wife sacrificed herself (use herself as pill) to save him, so he went berserk and heartbroken. His mental state collapsed, which causes his heart tribulation or something, so he was sent to buddha sect.

[collapse]

The novel has subpar romance at best. Even though there are love stories, the amount of text the novel actually dedicated into conversation and relationship time between MC and his girls are very minimal. <<less

Miracle Throne

I only read up to 300s chapters, so this is review based on what I've read.

I'd rate this 3.7 / 5

Miracle Throne is a mixture of fantasy, modern science, xuanhuan. There are some references to western lore such as orc and elves (some of the ideas are directly taken from WoW) and eastern lore such as phoenix, flood dragon, etc. There are also references to modern science---- airship, electricity, radio, guns--- but in context of xuanhuan (energy guns, electronics driven by crystal energy, etc.).

The story is set in far past... more>> era where MC is a guy from far far future. MC's goal is to expand his business "empire" as well as changing the history of the world by introducing the technology. There are a lot of cliche xuanhuan plot such as fast cultivation, arrogant masters and faceslapping. However, there are also element of "city building" novel where MC builds his technology, army, and business trades to expand his influences.

Romance in this novel is pretty subtle. There are many girls who have favorable feelings for MC, but MC still remains unmarried as of 300s chapters. <<less
