Cliche angsty edgelord protagonist who has plot armor and is portrayed as smarter than everybody else in the novel. Except for the fact that, you know, the author has him go full retard whenever he wants the story to go in a certain direction.

"Would it be smart to kill this enemy who hates me and will probably continue acting the exact same way they have been so far?" - "Of course not! Then where would my ANGST go!" -

"I'm a full stealth character literally broken to the point that nobody... more>> can stop me (besides Mr cliche happy go lucky guy who is incredibly helpful and nice but somehow still works for the bad guys because you know that's so honorable and all that jazz), should I make use of it to defeat my enemies?" - "LOLNO let's turn off stealth and show them who I am and then taunt them and leave, THAT will make them stop being bad guys!" <<less

Holy sh*t can we add mind-control and rape tags to novels so I never have to get 20 hours into a story and then drop it like a hot potato again? I am SO TIRED OF READING CNS THAT FORCE ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS WITH MIND-CONTROLLED RAPE. Let me say that again. FORCED RAPE IS NOT A GOOD PLOT DEVICE. I DON'T WANT TO READ ABOUT MISS EVILYOUNGMISSWITHZEROEMOTIONSWHOTRIEDTOMURDERTHEMAINCHARACTER SUDDENLY GET MIND CONTROLLED INTO s*x AND SUDDENLY FALLS FOR THE MC'S d*ck.

The story really isn't good in the first place. It's incredibly cliched,... more>> hasn't even talked about talismans in like 100 chapters despite being named talisman emperor, deus ex machinas the sh*t out of its plot, and every villain is a kindergarten-level young master. It's "incredibly descriptive" in the sense that every single goddamn paragraph in this entire story could EASILY be reduced down into one concise sentence and the story would be vastly improved.

The plot is one straight line down the author's cultivation system with the exact item the MC needs at that time popping up in front of him over, and over, and over, and over again. As far as I can tell, the MC is supposed to be some straightforward young paragon of virtue, except for the fact that he regularly wants to just sit and watch evil baddies walk all over young innocents, until the author manages to force some contrived plot device into the story that forces him to get personally involved.

I'm not sure if I should rate this a 2 for managing to (barely) keep me from dropping it for slightly over 200 chapters, or rate it -5 for wasting my time with this infuriating pile of literary crap. Dropped. Will never read another story by this author again. <<less

I give this story a 2 simply for being mildly entertaining and enjoyable to read, which I suppose is the most important part of a story, but dear god this author so many distracting flaws in his writing that I want to slap him for it.

If you're looking for a story to kill some (A LOT) of time with, then this story might be for you. Just be prepared for numerous plot holes in basically every single arc, long-winded fluff chapters (seriously, I went through a 50 chapter stretch in... more>> the jungle arc where I just read the first sentence of every paragraph and didn't miss anything important), tons of illogical details that are 100% wrong, impossible, or self-contradictory, and many more details that are approaching impossibility to the point of absurdity even though they might not technically be 100% impossible.

The entire plot is the author basically saying "this sounds cool so I'm going to write it" with little to no real effort to fact check, and he even changes his own plot points at times just to make it fit with the direction he wants the story to go. The fact he somehow makes the "this sounds cool so I'm going to write it" part work is why I give this 2 stars. Plus the characters are pretty interesting, and their actions and motivations generally make sense, which is more than I can say for a lot of CN novels. <<less

I would give this a -1 if I could just for making me waste my time thinking it might get better. It doesn't. It gets worse. As the story goes on you realize the MC is not a good person, the supporting characters are either idiots or terrible people (or both), the game mechanics are some of the worst I've ever seen in this genre, and the real-life-chapters are beyond any shadow of a doubt the worst I've ever seen. Oh, you also realize the author has severe character flaws... more>> and likes to write them in as traits of his novel characters and act like they're good traits. <<less

If you want to read about every chinese stereotype ever, read this. It's got every single one of them.

I don't know if the author meant to do this, but the 'good guys' and 'bad guys' are all the exact same kind of people (dumb and biased as hell) it's just the 'good guys' happen to be the MC's friends or family so he protects them and the 'bad guys' are against his friends and family so he kills them. This is the entire lesson the author tries to convey (pretty... more>> much every 5 paragraphs throughout the entire story). You owe your family/country/backing and are obliged to do anything for them. Don't go against them no matter what or you're evil.

It was okay at the start but I just reached 193 and I'm dropping this crap. The filler is out of control and the plot is incredibly contrived. You'll read it and say "This doesn't make sense, their actions don't make sense, this shouldn't happen... but I know exactly what is going to happen in the next 10 chapters because the author is obviously trying (and failing miserably) to write about ____ cliche".

Oh and trash talking is literally the most important part of the fight according to the author so watch as the MC trash talks his opponents into the ground because they're dumb as bricks and, wow, incredibly, they are being pressured now and can't fight properly because the MC's "temperament" is disrupting their ability! Amazing!!! <<less
