This is what turns me off about this novel.
The MC is a badass who used to be a professional arm dealer, but then the kid he raised turn back on him, lock him up in a secluded island and forced him to become his personal bed warmer (rape!), now the rape part wasn't the thing that stopped me from continuing, what stopped me is the fact that
1. The MC used to be someone who loves a good alcohol, but his new body is a lightweight (one cup and he is out) and there are times that he was being taken advantage off when he is drunk and yet HE KEEPS ON DRINKING AND KEEP ON BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OFF. At some point it even got me thinking 'is he a masochist? Isn't he a supposedly professional arm dealer who supposedly never shows his weakness and always cautious?'
2. In the earlier chapter, it was written how the MC has trauma about people touching him (cause rape and all) and never let people touch him. But then suddenly when he was rape by another guy (when he was drunk and weeping about his dead brother which latter got his identity spoiled) he was totally fine about it [dfg?] and he was like 'the big Bear is so annoying but at this moment I miss him' and that was the night AFTER he got raped, GET OUTTA HERE MC where is your conscience??
3. The supposedly professional arm dealer is scared of a dark, quiet forest which got him into a cold sweat and shouting for the bear that has rape him.. Yeah whatever
Truthfully what made me dropped this story is how inconsistent the personality of the MC is, the fast pace that came out of nowhere and some of the details of what's happening is nada, maybe I am just nitpicking here, but truthfully even there are some parts in True Star I kinda dislike, but then cause it wasn't so bad I tried continuing it and it was worth it, but this.. I am sorry to say but I am dropping it.
Bear with me here, this is the first review I have ever done on this site.
Now let me tell you what I love about this story. Even though it is the mainstream story of transmigration but unlike any other story where the MC is stupidly OP and full of drama, the MC for this novel is not OP (although the MC really are the number 1 Supermodel in terms of shooting and catwalks) and actually really bad at some things. Ex. Acting. He is so bad at acting that even his fans, agent, and the ML like to poke fun at him for it. But in times he is getting better after much dedication that everyone has to applause him for his hard work. The novel is very well paced, and of course, my favorite part of this story is the love story between the MC and the ML. Not much drama that leads up to the MC and the ML to be together, but it is solid, and you can definitely tell how sincere their love is (mind you, I even cried at the love letter the MC wrote to the ML). Even the ending is not rushed and it lives up to your expectation that you can't help having the sense of fulfillment after reading it.
