Max Level Newbie

This novel is not exactly bad, however it's just not my piece of cake. The MC is positioned at first as an extremely powerful guy, who capped his level at 99, with skill at S lvl. But then he is transported into a world where he is on the bottom of the power chart. And here the things start to get kind of "meh" - ... more>>
Spoiler

a relatively powerful street vendor directs him to a really powerful inn owner, who then starts training the MC and another guy. All the while the protagonist whines at himself. Then this "master" orders them to attack trees (which, for some reason, have levels)

and here I stopped reading. The translation is OK, the setting is interesting too, however the characters just irritate me. I'd not recommend this story, but you are free to see for yourself if it's your kind of novel. <<less

Limitless Dream

This is a decent novel about a king, who was cursed to dream about being a modern korean, who works on a factory. The king remembers his dream, but the Korean guy doesn't know about the king. And if he dies in a dream, then it's final death of the soul for him. Oh, and the "modern" protagonist has cancer.

The plot is interesting so far, translation is good. The tone of the story is somewhat dark, however it's not without hope. I can't say that it's a masterpiece, but it... more>> deserves to at least try it. <<less

It is a nice story that I have not felt drawn into. The MC is not too bad, the translation and writing are nice. There is not a lot at stake and the hero does not need to do everything in his power to survive another minute. However, for a relaxing story it is somewhat too “real/gritty” - the adventurers are bullying “the new guy”, the skill given at reincarnation is useful for basic things, but takes long to really shine, etc. The excitement begins to build up at the... more>> moment I have stopped reading, however I find myself tired of waiting in limbo between slice of life and action.

All in all, I recommend you read maybe ten chapters and decide for yourself. <<less

Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint

There is not a lot translated so far, but this novel looks promising. The plot hook is both cliche and somewhat new at the same time. The usual part about knowledge about the future is improved with the way it is implemented - a novel that the MC has been reading for 10 years and which ended the day before apocalypse. So, he's not a regressor in the strict sense. Protagonist's skills are on par with other people in the beginning. Plus, the knowledge is somewhat limited by source material,... more>> i.e. If a character saves somebody that died in novel he is not able to get new information about them.

The writing is good and translation is nice, so maybe try it and see for yourself. <<less

Undead Seeks Warmth

The premise of this story is pretty interesting, however poor execution by the author and badly edited translation ruined my enjoyment. Characterization is inconsistent, events feel forced and needlessly angsty and the less is said about dialogues the better. Still, it's worth trying just to get a taste of what you like if there's nothing more decent available. Just be warned, that the beginning is better that what comes next.

Seized by the System

A solid novel with a nice translation. The premise is a subversion of a usual chinese "system novel" plot and author sticks to it so far, mixing expected elements with some unconventional ones. Also, do not be discouraged by synopsis, the MC does have some say in what his body/system does, he just has to jump through some hoops to get what he wants. This is more of a comedy than "... and I must scream" scenario.

There is no great evil to defeat or goal to reach, so the pace... more>> is kind of relaxed. Still, it doesn't feel like author pads out the word count and the action moves along at an acceptable speed.

In conclusion, I recommend you to read a couple of chapters to get a feeling for this novel and decide whether you like it, because I certainly do. <<less
