This is an amazing read and I thank all the translators who were able to make this read possible! I actually stumbled upon the novel after reading the manga. The manga's drawing was so beautiful and story line so intriguing that I wanted to find a continuation no matter what. Once I found the novel, I literally binged read it within (2-3) nights non stop until catching up to the current volume/chapter. I'm so disappointed that I can't reach Chinese to further continue the story because it has 29 volumes... more>> out currently. Taking the Yaoi aspect aside, the story itself is so intricately woven to incorporate so many adventures and deeper meaning that if you blink, you might miss the under tones of what this novel sends out. I can't make myself hate any of the "villians" because each one of them has their own personal story that gets developed through out. It has a great mix of action and romance that keeps you on the edge. I will say that the main character does get on my nerves from time to time but vice versa, there are times that he makes me so proud, I just want to squeeze him. There's a great mix of side stories too that keep the plot going so if you are looking for a great manhua read, this is a must!

Pros: Character development, great plot twists, likeable characters, intriguing conversations/topics are brought up, action (references to the art of war), romance (mix of both BL and Hetero), likeable villian (for me personally), and not too many holes in the story line

Cons: Can seem to drag on, MC gets annoying at times, cliche romances with the main couple, and some cliche plot twist <<less
