I agree with a lot of what the other reviewers have been saying about how this series is very similar to most other xianxia novels. However, it also lacks some of the gaping flaws in other more popular series (I'm looking at you MGA). First of all, the MC is not a petty little idiot whose sole purpose is to kill and r*pe everyone he meets. Yes, he kills people without hesitation but only when they are a direct threat to his life or the lives of others. Second of... more>> all, he doesn't have a harem. For most WN, women have one purpose, like Pokemon, gotta catch em all! An MC who isn't swayed by every whim is appealing. As a final note, his power progression is pretty steep even by xianxia standards but I happen to like that actually so I won't take off any points for it. I wouldn't recommend this series if you get off on those r*pe/murder or polygamous wish-fulfillment WNs. For everyone else, I'd recommend at least giving it a try. <<less

The Sage Who Transcended Samsara

A main difference between this series and other "game/competition/test world" novels is that most other series have a safe, normal world and an alternate dangerous world. In this series, both the "normal" world and the Samsara worlds are filled with danger and opportunities to grow stronger. I really like that the pace doesn't slow down regardless of which world the MC is in. All-in-all, it's an interesting combination of the Infinity and Xuanhuan genres.

This series really only has one strength but it's a big one: its pace. Almost every author likes to pad their word count and come up with any excuse to delay the story's progress. Not this one. It feels like almost every chapter has something noteworthy happening or the MC progresses in some way. The series really starts ramping up around the 150-200 chapter mark.

One of the best magical system novels out there. The filler is kept to a minimum and the MC isn't an idiot or a psychopath.

The World after the Fall

A fairly typical loner, OP gamer type novel. If you like that genre, you'll probably enjoy this as long as you can put up with the extremely annoying woman whose sole purpose is just to exclaim at how amazing the MC is and annoy readers. I'd have given this series 5-stars if it didn't have that woman.
