Pursuit of the Truth

MC goes through a really boring process of powering up, especially his first one which was basically a lot of cock-praising and shaming the rest of his peers; Maybe this is the kind of content that the author is aiming for? The novel lacks any adventure so far and the achievements that the MC has obtained are really nothing that he has actually earned for himself; He has a OP bloodline and his elder passes down a hack that any first grade elementary school student could solve which starts him... more>> off on his path of glory. The adages are extremely funky and most of them are just common sense but apparently common sense is not common in this universe and because of that, they are very profound. World development is very lacking, you get like one piece of world development knowledge that isn't filler material per ten chapters and it might not even be important or interesting. The plot is very straightforward and predictable.

Maybe this novel is aimed for a younger audience than his previous novels but it certainly isn't an improvement over ISSTH.

A lot of fans just ghost writing and overrating the novel just because they like his previous works when the novel itself barely qualifies as a average novel. <<less

Novel starts out OK, only because it sets up a xianxia/xuanhua fantasy setting, but gets boring extremely quick and the boredom content is god-tier. Percentage-wise, this novel is 90% splice-of-life, 5% action, and 5% adventure/mystery. You can go on for chapters with filler material the funny thing is that the author hasn't even gotten the readers attention before he/she goes full-filler chapters!

Maybe younger readers with a longer attention-span might find reading this novel OK but that's only because they haven't seen the good stuff yet.

This is one of those novels that bored you with filler content, verbose context, extremely boring events, lack of adventure, and extremely slow pace to the point were it almost reaches your threshold.

When the adventure does pick up, it's pretty good but I'm a hard bargainer and have far better novels to read or reread.

Fishing the Myriad Heavens

Poorest logic I have ever seen/read and here is why: When you fish, you have to tackle the fish and exert a force to fight the fish. The bigger the fish, usually, the amount of work needed is higher. In this novel, the MC uses no work, as in SI Units work (N), to get the item from the other world. In other words, the MC is fishing up super powerful beast with his human level strength and remember that he starts out handicapped as in workplace injury handicap.

You can... more>> also that the writer doesn't really check his logic. Even the translators write in the footnotes that the writer is improperly introducing characters and that the MC is carrying a big heavy satellite despite being handicap at the time <<less

Seeking the Flying Sword Path

The story spends way too much time on BSing around on the most useless of stuff. From the start, you can tell that this is just another novel were the MC is already ultra powerful and he just spends his days stomping on mortals. MC's adventures are extremely lacking in interest and you can clearly tell that the author is putting way too much effort putting as much filler content as possible. A piece of information will get repeated as much as 10 times because the author is just writing... more>> for the sake of writing and can't be bothered to remember what he/she wrote. The fact that the novel start out with a beauty pageant contest doesn't help this novel either. <<less

Painting of the Nine Immortals

Basically a novel a boy who gets OP item, uses it to show off, and be cocky. Most of the story is about trading insults between the MC and antagonist and the other half is about praising the MC. Most of MC's skills is from him being born with a lucky natural lottery (he is just born lucky). MC goes on a adventure once per 100 chapters.

Compared to novels tagged 'filler' (there really needs to be such a tag/genre), this novel would be around 8/10. Like most novels, MC's origin... more>> story started out good, fresh, sorta original but quickly sours when the author decides to go full retard and fill just about every chapter with fillers. <<less

This is one of the very few novels were the MC actually acts and thinks rationally. The MC doesn't make it his job to go against the heavens or kill everyone he sees but to live a normal life of a cultivator, but what makes this novel good is that a series of situations lead the MC into taking rational paths to survive instead of using plot armor and luck to survive his calamities.

The novel is really rich in lore and content, is MC focused, and people give the correct... more>> amount of dialogue while keeping filler content to a minimum.

One of the best novels out there but translation speed is extremely slow because I think it's one of the writers current projects were the raws aren't really far ahead for huge donations. <<less

You have to keep in mind that you are looking at the world from the MC's point-of-view and that he really doesn't want to do anything but chill. He isn't going on a adventure but instead adventure is coming to him which limits the amount of lore/story progression. I'm glad to see that this novel isn't one of those novels that dedicate half it's content to insults to justify life and death battles.

This novel is actually pretty good, like really good. You can consider it like a partial reincarnation of the MC from Renegade Immortal but the writer mixes things up, places the MC in different scenarios, learns a different set of skills, and new calamities. Basically reincarnation.

The only downside is that the aurthor choose to stop writing the novel at 100ish chapters which meant that gravitytales dropped the novel because 100 chapters.

This novel is aimed towards a target audience of a more intelligent age group but that's what makes it great. It is willing to take on controversial subjects like religion, philosophy, and uses physics to a certain extent, but still allows for a good degree of artistic freedom, which shows how intelligent the MC actually is and not some fake intelligence that has flaws because of logic.

MC's father supported the failed successions-side of the throne and hides his income from the government and thus avoids paying taxes. I mean other novels have rags-to-riches kind of story but this is essentially a tax avoidance story. MC's a noble, pretty much a land-holding baron, but returns very little to his country and feels no guilt either; MC prob wouldn't even honor a call-to-war from the country.

The novel starts out good only because of the story and setting but then it turns out that the MC is pretty much a idiot, starts fights recklessly, only knows how to exchange insults, has a garbage personality, and has low IQ. Not sure why Chinese people are into web novels that only know how to exchange insults but a pro-tip to future writers, once your novel's dialogue is nothing but insult exchanging, it removes the reader from his/her immersion extremely fast; Don't use it as a form of setting/building... more>> up for a fight. <<less

Dominating Sword Immortal

This is kinda like your Dragon Ball Z male-protagonist MC level up kind of novels but with a MC lead that has very little personality and just finds himself in situations of life and death battles. Also, MC isn't necessarily good or bad nor are his enemies; This novel is one of those plain kill the opposing side kind of novels.

One of the better novels out there. The story is MC focused, the side characters give a proper amount of dialogue and not that kind of trash fill-an-entire-chapter kind of dialogue, the story is unique, the MC has intelligence and somewhat of a likable personality. The only downside is that this is one of those stories that has the MC plainly killing because someone insulted him; It seems like the story will go down the same path as ISSTH with just OP hero and MC killing people who insult him... more>> though. <<less

Legend of the Cultivation God

The beginning starts out pretty boring as f##$ reason being that the writer decided to write multiple parallel perspectives, some good and some pretty epic boring, like god-level boring.

Imagine 1/5 of all chapters only focusing on MC. That's how bad this novel is. The MC stuff; It's pretty good, except for his mundane matters which is pretty epic boring too.

Some side-stories are OK but we can really do without them. This would be a 5/5 novel if the author didn't add soo much filler content.

The origin story started out good and some of the arcs allowed the MC to move into reset settings but there are times were the story diverges too much into side-characters especially when MC is building his group. Luckily the story picks up later but I am not happy knowing that we will eventually return to mercenary group building because that content is extremely lame.

Problem with this novel is that content comes along to slowly and jokes aren't that funny compared to the TV series, which actually can write good jokes and the actors are much better at expressing emotion than text. Overall novel story is good but way too much filler content, dialogue, not to mention dialogue repetition which occurs like 10 times at the minimum.
