The Earth is Online

This is the smart protagonist I’ve been looking for. Do you like games? Do you like reading carefully into rules to see which you can bend and which are trying to lead you astray? With their survival on the line, every person on earth must now play this game and attack the black tower.

This is an incredibly thrilling story with clever characters and logic that’s for the most part, believable. Even if you don’t like BL, this is a great read. It’s not focused on romance (the MC doesn’t even... more>> meet the male lead in person until at least 50 chapters in and then some more for them to stick together as partners to work through games together, not because of a romantic interest but out of genuine respect for each other’s abilities, like picking players for your basketball team during gym class).

I can’t say much without giving spoilers but this story sucks you in and is an incredible page turner. Thanks to the wonderful translators, we have daily updates too! <<less

The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System
November 10, 2018

You won't regret reading this. The MC looks cool and aloof on the outside while he's criticizing the novel, having internal freakouts and occasionally being a super-fan on the inside. He's an incredibly enjoyable narrator who manages to make the best of the ridiculous (and sometimes terribly tragic) scenarios he's in... That usually he puts himself into unknowingly. He's quite an oblivious MC but with good reason.

Spoiler
  1. He's terrified for his life as the ultimate scum villain of the novel, so he's super paranoid about anything that will lead to a Bad End
  2. He's memorized read the book thoroughly enough that he expects the characters around him to be the same as in the novel, but they're not because of his presence.
  3. ... He's a tsundere written so well I didn't even know until I read the spoiler thread with excellent character analyses.

Encountering a Snake

It’s beautifully written and the translators convey that incredibly well. It’s like reading an ink painting, with gorgeous imagery dancing across your mind as you read. No sign of romance so far and tbh I’d be happy to read even without the romance, but dw this novel has the proper tags so there should be romantic development soon. Plot wise it’s not super fast but it’s not slow either. It feels like it just takes you to calmer times, isolated on a mountain thousands of years ago with a rich,... more>> physically weak, and poetic young master.

It hints to more behind the scenes, schemes and drama but the novel just slips that in as if to say, don’t worry, you’ll see it soon. Just enjoy the peace for now. It’s a good read so far and I’d definitely recommend at least reading the first chapter to see for yourself <<less

Picked up by the Protagonist of a Tormented! MC Novel

It's an incredibly riveting story. The MC enters the story as a newborn baby and truly integrates into his harsh environment, trying his best to survive in the arms of his beloved protagonist, who's only a few years older than him. You can really feel their relationship (and lives) build from scraps and it's absolutely heartwarming and a page-turner. The descriptions integrate you into a hostile environment, where it's every person for themselves. It doesn't hesitate to push you into the grim environment, where tensions are high and death seems... more>> immanent for beggars, especially a child beggar trying to raise an infant by himself. You can feel their struggles, their pain, their desperation... and it just draws you in. It's not all pain and suffering either, you'll fall in love with their sweet moments, their funny moments, and their complete sense of belonging with each other build up from years of survival and trust tests. Just when you think one thing is going to happen, suddenly someone from the plot shows up and changes their direction. I was drawn in by the story instantly, and I hope you give it a try too.

Bless the author and translator for giving us this incredible story. <<less
