I liked this story, don't mistake that, but after the latest chapter (88), I was really disappointed by the way this story is taking.

The author spent all that chapters uselessly reminding us that the MC is strong, female MC are loyal to him, won't trouble him, and yet the first thing he said when ... more>>

things fell through in the chapter was that her action was not wrong... So bringing unnecessary trouble to a trained assassin (who has no qualm killing people).. is good action by wifeys?

I know that the story need progression, but the way things are happening are too stupid, and I am too tired of the Jap (note that I do not read novels other than JP) 's cliches.

First of all, the story's been hijacked. When I read a freakin slice of life story (how it seems to me with all the cooking and whatnot), I want to read ABOUT the MC, Sirius and co., not some side character introduced in a few chapters back, who only appeared in one or two chapters. I don't mind when the story placed more focus on Reus than Sirius, the story need progression, I get that. But this side character I don't even care (or remember) doesn't even have a likable story. It just "I saved a random pretty girl somewhere (by betraying my mentor?) and now I am in love with her"... How long have you known her? Not to mention, what the f**k was with that stupid villain?!"You can use strong water magic, so become my underling" THE FREAKIN HELL?! Is he a kid?!

Last note, I was very disappointed when I was writing this review, so most likely I got some facts wrong. Also, not going to come back to this series again, I had enough of stupid decisions made by characters in the novel. I refuse to read a novel (which I read for gratification purposes) that served only to aggravate me. Sorry translator/s for this series, you are doing a really good job, but a sh*tty (for a lack of better words in my anger) is still a sh*tty (still angry) novel for me. <<less

The Simple Job of Only Perishing to the Hero

The start is interesting, but somehow it devolve into a merry-go-round of whatever the other people (who have absolutely nothing to do with mc) are doing.

It got bored and an entire volume focusing on side-character is not a good reading material, especially considering its not even the side story after an epilogue. Not to mention all those forced coupling... Somehow I get this feeling that the author seriously have a delusion on how people actually fall in love.

In my opinion, the story is not that bad.

Yes, the MC is a jap MC who's lacking common sense despite living for centuries before reincarnating, not to mention the other usual tropes. But the thing that bugs me the most with this novel is the pacing.

I can pretty much sums the chapters with 20% recap of last chapter, 35% problem+solution talk, 45% inner monologue on why solution works/not works, finished with a line that leads into a stupid cliffhanger, IN EVERY CHAPTER. Not helping that the chapters are short. The... more>> cliff after cliff after cliff gets tiresome after awhile.

And don't get me started on the mc's common sense... On a side note, does this novel really deserve an action tag? Sure the fight scene is long.., but that is only because of the monologue, mainly on how to counter enemies' skill, and then how to counter the enemies' counter skill... The MC REALLY love talking to himself. <<less

Another one of those MCs getting forbidden skill, power, equipment (whatever) that lead into whole chapters of how strong he is, only to be stomped over and over again.

There are way too many foreshadowing, mysteries and plot holes to the point that it is aggravating to continue the read. And the interaction between MC and his weapon is quite stale, seriously did the author watch/read the Zero no Tsukaima's series or something.

Damn it I hate flashbacks. And it's not even about the main cast, just some people who weren't even properly introduced (might be that author want to introduce them through the flashbacks... but I hate flashbacks).

The story does not even focus on Red OR Lit anymore. The romance, their life (for those crying this is a slice of life) takes a back seat.

First of all, I "loved" this novel. I have no problem with the genderless romance, or chapters that are basically mass informations, or even the fact that those informations are not going to be use at all aside from that particular arc. I like the premise of the story, on how a slime gain power and become something like a king of the populace.

But here come the main issue, the main character experiences level up multiple time and got stronger, too strong that MC is considered peerless, angelic, god or... more>> whatever else people think of MC. He/she also have that godlike skill that basically allow MC to become stupidly strong in battle. HOWEVER, off the top of my head, he/she has only been involved in like 3 fights,

against orc king, when he/she slaughtered the army to become demon king, against that slut nun/officer of the church (in fact the fight was quite short)

So... whats the point of those stupid power ups? MC doesnt even fight. And latest chapter...

Next is another major gripe I have with this novel, the POV change. I am fine when author uses pov to explain some stuff, like occurences that doesnt involves the MC, or something world-changing, or whatever. But, this novel can be sums up as a collections of interconnected short-stories. As an example, the MC

had only appeared for like 1 or 2 chapters between 200 and 218 (the only one I can remember). There was also needless build ups into fights... that MC doesnt even participate in, such as the fight against the desert empire, the entire arc had build up that didnt particularly led to anything noteworthy for the mc

TL;DR The novel focused more on the side-characters than the actual main character... That at c218

havent even appeared for the last few chapters

. Next is too much info dumps, and side-characters are annoying/lacking <<less
