She knows exactly who the murderer is, doesn't go to the police station maybe because of lack of proof or none would believe her if she says she remembers his face, fine.
But god d*mn like she then decide to go back to the very shop of the said killed even better she walks into a dark alley alone even though the ghost pointed out to her she was followed then proceed to confront the killer going so far as taking the risk to make sure the killer knows that she knew his identity, I mean what is the point, why are you even provoking him, why are you even doing this.
Was that your plan to die alone like this when the ML asked you of your plan ? Worst. The next chapter I only read a few lines because she asks very surprisingly "are you and the cops following me" ? O. M. G. I can't. I stop here.
It gets even worst. I was reading more because in consideration of all the good reviews here. But holy.. She just do whatever is in her head and acts it's cute. I don't see a girl that's 25 and been through hard life, work to pay herself in jobs etc. Basically there is not a single thing mature about her.
Anyway let's talk about c54 because god dammit. She just NEVER listen, the grandma clearly told her spirits could be bad and show vision of whatever they wanted however she just goes on with what the ghost shown her and confront the people that could be potential killer in a remote place, YES AGAIN. Even the plot gets recycled, incredible. Anyway because of that very confrontation she discovers that she was wrong, goes back to grandma acting cute because *teehee* I'm 25 it can't be my fault. This VERY confrontation leads to the suicide of the girl she confronted. Yeah keep acting cute. She concludes that it just can't be her fault and all, honestly reading the thoughts of this girl makes me sick. Yeah the girl MC confronted was using a another one's identity but she never killed anyone. You destroyed a happy couple and lead a girl that opened an orphanage to kill herself and concluded you had nothing to do with this ?! Ok.
there were great comments on this about how it was so sweet people had diabetes reading it, haha
It was not really broken due to the girl's own will, really as pointed out she was influenced. And MC did not totally break off with her they just remained friends, just not close friends, they still talk to each other and goes to family party together, like just your usual childhood but not too close friend, you know what I mean ?
Like, I hope MC's bro will keep being a bro as they are so good to each other. MC defended his bro when he was wronged even though he would get in trouble for it and the latter didn't really care but when he saw MC getting wronged in turn he just went mad as well. I feel like that's how friendship should be : I can call my friend stupid but don't you dare do the same to my friend before me. Not exactly what happened but you know that feel
as they are already leaving the academy then their places, it all happened within 30 chapters.
MC is reincarnated into a heartless world where only the strongest survive, literally.
The noble has the right of life and death to those beneath them but on top of the noble you have the Magus, the almighty enlightened beings that pursuit the truth.
It is a world where every Magus of the same level has to fight amongst themselves to get every inheritance and ressources possible to pursuit their path.
In this world where only the cool headed survive, our MC, Leylin has been reincarnated with his loyal A.I. chip fused into his soul.
MC, Leylin is in no way overpowered, unlike other novel, he does not "jump" level and fight being above him without consequences, only when he has to, he uses every means at his disposition to survive.
He always weights the pros and cons before taking action. He will not slaughter without reason, that being said he won't fight for justice without any profit neither.
But if he has the power and happens to be able to help without consequence when passing by he will. So amongst all the psychopath Magus in this world he's probably one of the best haha.
As for being the scientist part, I really like it - I am a student in biotechnology and most of our current experiments even the simplest task as for counting the cells we have computers taking care of it. So I can totally see if MC comes from a few decades or even a century futuristic world having an A.I assistant.
Little rant in spoiler -
Computer gives us answers we need, but conclusions are done by ourself. Do you ever doubt and question your calculator after typing 1+1 on it ?
Every experiment we do it is done with a machine assisting us I really don't understand people ranting about him using his A.I as an assistant, have you ever been in our labs? And my lab is an uni lab not corporate lab... Even before of thinking submitting any theories it has to come with the support and analysis of computers to prove the results first. Honestly thanks to these review I even had a nightmare of being in a lab without any computing device. It is really like insulting scientists of today of not being one because of using high-tech devices. I really can't support any of you. If I was transmigrated 60 year before with a scientific calculator I can already see people here giving me long face... As for that A.I chip... I would totally love to have one as powerful as the one he has one day hahahaha
As for this world. It is really alive... Every places, every characters, be it men or women interact with our MC and have thought of their own, every character in this world scheme, against MC, other organisations or such following their best interests.
It feels so alive, so colorful. Nothing is stagnant, alliances, friendships, enemies; all of it can change so it is not boring to know about them. It really change a lot from other novel where every team stays the same and never change.
Our MC, Leylin, based on this will make decision some you will agree with, some perhaps not, but as far as I have read he stays true to himself and the only thing he never betray is his own interest.
This is what got me hooked. He is so interesting and so true to himself that I can't help but be amazed by his character. I just keep on reading about what he will do chapters after chapters.
I really thank the translators for translating this novel and letting me discover what an amazing character this MC, Leylin is. Intelligent, hardworking, determined, cunning, apathetic, manipulative and evil everything in the tag fits in his personality!
Honestly, what an exemplary and great Magus our MC, Leylin is for the new world he's been reborn in.
Around chapter 370-380 MC gets drugged by his own most trusted person with an aphrodisiac and the whole scene was depicted as it was supposed to be funny, now let me tell you it was such potent that the MC almost died. I can understand his coward of a family does NOTHING was it supposed to be a funny r*pe ? MY BAD it's just disgusting.
Let me leave this quote here while everyone outside the tent is laughing "Moreover, Qing Han... that poor girl! She couldn't have done anything to resist Jun Mo Xie if he had forced her after having lost his mind. But, she didn't even call for help. What does that mean? She must have understood that something was wrong with JMX. In fact, she might've realized an aphrodisiac was at play. So, she must've wanted to save JMX. That may be reason why she has endured everything in silence... I don't know what those excessive toxins would've done to JMX's body if it weren't for QH's sacrifice. This means that QH has sacrificed her virtue to save JMX [...]"
But again, MC as a f*cking "king of assassin" ? Normal one would have never tolerated such betrayal and logic would most likely made him cut ties at most if he couldn't bear to hurt the girl but I guess NO it's like nothing happened. Ruthless protagonist my ass. Evil monarch my ass. He's such a coward that he just feel embarrassed and comply like an obedient dog when his uncle scold him as a beast while threatening to break his legs. God I had never read about such a pathetic king of assassin. Later in the chapter he admitted he was glad a girl would drug him to get him, more like king of loser honestly.
The author hates the rich and portrays them as people that sees money as everything; going so far to make them say that poor people give their poor genes to their descendants making them poor and losers as well.
Let me quote the author here "Some people understood things only after they had grown up. Some teased the students with bad grades, but a rich family, that was a silly thing. After entering the society, the ones with money went overseas to study and came back with an incredible diploma. They could easily find a company and earn a tens of thousands per month, and they'd still think it was too little money. Whereas those who had diligently studied, entered university, then submerged themselves in a multitude of jobs still had a quality of life that was simply not on the same level as those who were teased for their family background. Their ideal world was erased; they lost their spirits, yet remained tired, and still more poor than a freaking dog."
That ain't even how studying abroad works... I know a Chinese student there her family gave her everything they had so she could study here and get a diploma, school don't just hand those over to you if you don't qualify, it lowers their ranking doing so, smh. Tbh everything is in that quote. The direct consequence of working tiring job is because of bad grades. Do I believe exams are biased against students who don't give a sh*t ? Yes I do believe so.
I do not know about what all the comments saying how smart he is is about however I do know that despite the fact he could have been seen as the most talented student in school, hence directly going to the elite class he is hiding himself, his talent or whatever, then there might be people that pointed it out because out of nowhere there was a plot that gave him a good reason to do so (black magic or something).
It is the second time I read a novel doing this (first being Monster Paradise). MC decides something on his own then the plot completes whatever he does or think, that ain't being smart or anything like come on... you gotta stop it please.
I do not really understand it but these male are really the lowest of low, they are constantly rutting. No kidding, every time a new female character is introduced it always describe how they think of her; if it is the first few time then yeah right. Sigh.
And why the hell does he even split his practice into lightning THEN fire ? He had so much progress with just lightning far ahead than everyone else. Even if he is dual element nothing is explained on why he would have to do that, I mean a real reason like a benefit or something. It would only make sense to me that he is doing it because he read in a book he picked up but no. I am already smelling a thick plot armor coming to complete his actions "oh I didn't do it for nothing I can combine fire and lightning making it way stronger !".
And guess what, as soon as he starts to practice fire and he's somewhat good in it (considering the amount of time he spent) there is suddenly a new teacher that is specialized in fire that teach his class for no reason. Like the reason she exists or is even there is so that MC didn't practice fire in vain lmao, it's so painful.
I don't like the MC as a person. He is a loser through and through. I hope he changes but his dad is out there risking his damned life and instead of looking at the most officient way to integrate the Elite Class and fight for the best ressources school can offer he's hiding his talent going so far as to splitting his practice into lightning then fire just so he can stay in the same class for what ? I don't get the efficiency of this yet if you read his thoughts he's completely always thinking on how to put down this or that person when he becomes strong. Not kidding.
