There are a lot of things about this story that are very good, but I'll narrow it down to the fundamentals.
1. The plot is very well executed, even if the plot device (reincarnation) has been beaten to death more times than a Kulack in Stalinist Russia. The pacing is well done and everything tends to make sense in one form or another.
2. Character development is present and well done. It is also natural which makes it more enjoyable to see.
3. Less on the author and more the... more>> translator, it is just well written. <<less

This is just a good novel, plain and simple. The idea of a hero who is not OPAF seems to be dying but this novel might just be enough to bring it back. Not only is his strength realistic when you read the story, it makes the story that much more enjoyable because now you know he isn't some overpowered douchebag on a mission to do some weirdly fantastical thing. Warfare and the occupation process are more than enough to create a situation that is beyond interesting and its clear... more>> the author knows this. By making it so that the protagonist feels like someone you could sit down and actually have a conversation with, you get pulled into the story that much more easily.

Now they just need to update the story so that we can see how it goes. <<less

I actually had the opportunity to read the story to completion and I can say whole heatedly that the author f**ked up a good premise and characters beyond all recognition. The reasons are:

  1. Creating the most generic harem in the history of harems
  2. Piss poor attempts to create suspense that fall pathetically flat because of the DBZ effect. (When a series runs into a situation of raising the bar too often, aka the Supernatural effect)
  3. The most moody and chunni of characters to ever exist. I swear this mofo starts out as a fantastic character and just degrades into every broody teenager ever.
  4. The most fantastical ending to what was set up to be dark fantasy ever.
    Spoiler

Everyone important to the protagonist lives, becomes immortal, and so on.

Its beyond annoying because there are so many things this story had going for it in the beginning that would have made it great and then it just turned into grindy harem bullsh*t. I mean you had a chance to make a badass story an f**k it up like this? Its pathetic.

This series is both humorous and lighthearted even in its darker moments. The clear break between what the protagonist believes and what others see also makes sense, so her supposed 'dense aura' is perfectly logical.

Its really just a very enjoyable series.

This is just simply a very well done story. The reincarnated element is rarely used and only for moments that make sense and help to deepen the emotional level of a scene. The humor is well done and believable. A great read if you want something fluffy, funny, and well written.
