The Fourteen Years I Spent as a Cat

This is a cute little story of a stray cat that gets adopted by a writer's family. It's short, sweet and a must for animal lovers!! Be warned... you're going to need a tissue towards the end!

Fishing the Myriad Heavens

Adopted by an old man when he was a kid, Bei Feng goes back to the mansion he was raised in when he loses his job in the city. The mansion is owned by a big clan who uses it to store memorial tablets, but otherwise it's left to Bei Feng's possession. It's good that they never stop by because of other events that happen...

Anyways! While casting about for something to do, he stumbles across the secret of the mansion's well! If he fishes in it, he can get marvelous... more>> things that can help him immensely. For example, a cultivation technique that will help heal his old injuries or beasts he can cook and sell to earn a minor fortune.

I really like the story, though there isn't as much fishing being done as you'd think. Still, the little stories that accompany the fishing are very well done and highly entertaining. Add more fishing or just intrigue, and I'll be back to add a star or two! <<less

As others have mentioned, it starts off good and then goes downhill. I still like the novel, but it was getting very repetitious and outlandish at times. Girls just fell into his lap and I never could understand why.

Oh, but then QI started up some voting on new stories, and an older novel with the same premise popped up. Couldn't help but think that this novel is how the author wished that the other novel had gone. Still, I have hope that it will improve.

While I understand why some people are writing such bad reviews, I happen to love farm sims and I think this LN has a lot of potential.

(and yeah...I do think that his sim is getting OP, but let's be real.... if a farm sim was present in RL, it would be ridiculously OP, especially if it could auto-upgrade by introducing new materials).

Zhang is a guy who likes to game and just so happens to be currently addicted to a farming sim. Falling asleep at the keyboard one night, he... more>> wakes up in the body of wastrel, Adam Buda. His family having supported the wrong royal in the succession and his father murdered, Adam has been forced to drink the dreaded Water of Nothingness which kills all cultivation & magic potential not just for him but for several generations later. Now he's banished to what sounds like a darker, less fertile version of Death Valley.

Luckily, Zhang's farm game follows him and lets him use items to help his rather desperate situation. You can tell from the beginning that it's going to turn into a Deus Ex Machina; it pretty much explains all that within ten chapters. What's interesting is seeing how it all plays out.

Why? Because of the Water, Adam is weak as a kitten. This Water doesn't just kill potential, it also damages the drinker physically. I'm hoping that gets nullified and he gets to deal massive amounts of payback to the people who banished him (and that's probably what happens if you go by the previous reviews). <<less
