A nice story having good arcs and a pretty good balance between the VR world and real life. The main character striving towards his ideals against all odds is what makes the plot flow and keep you reading.

Some of the arcs felt weaker than the others and the revealed overall plot was surprising but not fully to my liking.

I liked the easter eggs in it. Taking another hero from Shield hero, solar hands from Yakitate! Japan were just the ones I spotted.

As for the actual short story. It was nice, if a bit diffuse on some occasions. We also had the dense MC, female style.

This story has a good plot and interesting characters. The problem is where the author takes the chapters. The amount of characters that needs screen time and the random events being included everywhere is even worse than in the slow middle parts of The Wheel of Time. With a bit more focus in the story telling and less (long) monologues in the middle of combat it would improve a lot.

I am now up to chapter 154 and the romance is very weakly developed and a tiny tangent of the story... more>> (normal for Chinese stories). Considering the title it felt like it should take up more space than a few paragraphs every 20 or so chapters. <<less

The story kept up a good variation of pace and interesting setting until the author was going to tie things up. Then things fell down a cliff and it was a chore to get through the last volumes where the format totally changed due to the scale of things. It felt like going from One Piece to DBZ.

This novel is funny, has a good cultivation system up until now, a good setting and decent fights. As always he doesn't write romance. He creates an opportunity for it every 20 chapters then leaves the person behind within another 40 chapters.

One can tell the author realised what people wanted more of from ISSH and took that to heart. Will be interesting to see if he continues in this vein or decides to write random bad guy to kill #122 and random super improvement on cultivation #22 as was the... more>> weakness in it. <<less

This story started out fine with a mysterious background and a world of laughs. It slowly started suffering from a lack of focus and less humour. Following that the MC gets more powerful than a genius 100 times his age within a year or two due to his lucky circumstances. There are even instances when the MC doesn't believe in his plot armour, it has grown so thick.

Interesting story and setting but horrible writing. Each chapter is short and contains flashbacks. There are so many random info dumps that doesn't pull the story forward or getting used in the near future. It is possible to make them shorter or more interactive, currently they are just in an awful place.

This is a pretty good novel. The main character is a sociopath with a lot of patience and a long term goal. It shines in the way combat strength is gained among the strongest people and many good military actions. The different MC compared to most other stories really makes things interesting to read.

One of its weak points is the translator that has sentences missing words and text untranslated. Another is that while the combat is good it is missing some hard to define spark, most likely due to the... more>> MC having to make do with the conscripts he is working with. The underside of the world also feels stronger than what seems likely in most cases, there aren't even rumours about people that strong... <<less

This is a series with a lot of emotions in it. From laughter to disgust over to tears, it will bring out something in everybody. It is well worth reading due to its humour, good action scenes and solid plot line.

This author has taken the saying that plagiarism is honouring the original author to a near extreme. If there is an idea he has read somewhere that he likes it is in the story. This is mostly good though, it means that when the author runs out of ideas he just takes one from somewhere else instead of stagnating too badly.

On the downside having totally different basis for different parts of the story makes it disjointed in many cases. Introducing a character for a few chapters to give an impact... more>> and then killing it off in many cases.

I did finish it, so it isn't bad. I just won't recommend it to others since it isn't worth reading 1200 chapters for the story as it is. <<less

This is a very good series with some problems that becomes apparent as the story goes along.
There are a lot of side stories included.
The plot lines are extremely long.
The actions in the scene tends to repeat, especially in the dialogue or jokes.
These combined with a slow pace means you can read 10 volumes to progress 60% in a quest line. I personally feel the author should use more time skips since I simply don't want to read half the stuff that is written.

I have a hard... more>> time finding why I don't want to continue it but I did read over 40 volumes so I can not say it is a bad series. Perhaps too much of a good thing or the author getting a bit off track with needing to produce all the time and getting stuck in previously defined plot lines. <<less

Interesting story and setting. Side characters seem to be lost due to MC progression speed.

My biggest problem with the series is the luck factor. The loot he gets is more than somebody specialized in the area would be able to achieve. To make an example, you find a wallet and it has 100€ in it if you are lucky. If the MC finds it it has 10 000 000€ and a note on how to open the bank vault with the good stuff.
