Demon Girl ~Tale of a Lax Demon~
May 5, 2017
Status: v4c6
Where to start... well the closest comparison to this novel I can remember is Cloudy Eyes Lilianne. You have your fluffy story about a reincarnator awakening into the body of a newborn girl. She is born into nobility and is well loved by her family and servants. She grows up healthily and becomes beautiful... abnormally so. The prologue basically sets the backstory for the MC as she is actually a demon that has unwittingly incarnated into this world by inhabiting the corpse of a newly born stillborn child. The story... more>> then goes somewhat fast, with each year of her life documented in 1-5 chapters, with troubles arising from her unique existence as well as some issues with her parentage.

A word of warning the story is a comedy overall but in a very dark, gallows humor sort of way. Remember the MC is a demon, and she inhabits a setting where she was born in what may as well been the religious capital of the world. She ultimately shows two sides of her, a very princess-ly human side and a very very very inhuman demonic side. She is nourished by emotion, whether it be happiness, love, hatred, or despair, and actively cultivates events and people to extract them - it can be rather disturbing how easily she does this. She is absolutely nothing like your typical shojo lead, and mostly acts the part very well.

The writing/editing is pretty well done with few spelling or grammar errors to note - its an easy read. I absolutely recommend reading this. <<less

Still kinda early on, 7th chapter out of around early 20s thus translated as of this writing. So far its a good read for a good wank, if you can tolerate the assorted fetishes on display here. A lot of rape, bondage, humiliation play, and of course our red-haired mahou-shoujo heroine gets cursed with a d*ck and balls (whilst still retaining the vagina). Some bestiality by way of tentacles and monster rape also abounds.

I personally am in the situation of things, so writing quality passes if I get whats happening... more>> and as far as adult material goes, I like a lot of setup - or foreplay as it were. There's alot of both here, the writing is smooth with little grammar or spelling errors and the heroine is slowly bit by bit forced into increasingly lewd and masochistic pleasures. I have to argue that things are nicely vanilla in the sense that there's nothing netorare-y here (the heroine is single apparently), unlike in Adolescent Adam for example.

-Edit: Right the mom gets roped into the whole shebang, doesn't she? Nevermind its full /d/ all around. <<less

The Short of it: The writing in this is superb. Not a lewd novel, but there are lewd acts. If you came for the NTR you will be disappointed, its Netori. MC is a pretty decent individual despite his methods, and undoubtably the waifus he cucks away from the other "otherworlders" are better for it. Quite a good bit of philosophy as well, on the Nihilistic (in a positive way) and existentialist bent.

The Webnovel deconstructs several tropes carried by Isekai stories, but thats really kinda something they all do... more>> to some extent. The difference here is that its done quite well and presented in an engaging and, most importantly, logical way. Not alot of Deux ex Machina's for the MC, actually most of them are against him, so the feeling of tension and uncertainty are always there to keep you hooked on the plot. The MC is cocksure but not arrogant, armed with a very powerful but not overpowering skill, which is very refreshing. Familiar tropes are twisted to their logical extent as the author presents what effect the transportation into a new world, the (admittedly unwarranted) gifting of OP powers to seemingly random individuals, and what kind of individual (the gods/esses) does such a thing. The dudes the MC waifu-steals are shown to have become distorted from this abnormal situation, exactly as one would expect a human to do so. The MC does have an OP skill, but it is refreshingly not combat-related like many of the trash MC's in other isekai novels. He uses it smartly to decieve the haremettes of other "otherworlders" like himself but its clear that, overall, its for their own sake. Its Netori thus far, since the MC is doing the waifu-stealing. There is also alot of s*x going on, and he does this with all the girls he has thus acquired their trust, but its all kinda off-screen. Basically they say, with some hot exceptions, that "ah so we had s*x here and there" and, boom, scene transition to next plot point. Its r-18 though at some points where it does bother to details the hot stuff, but it never goes beyond foreplay.

The novel hasn't been updated in a while, so I wish this golden plot would get picked up by the translator, who by they way has done an amazing job. This ain't a machine-translated gig, well maybe it is but it certainly feels like the author wrote it well and the translator did the diligence to make sure that quality crosses the language barrier, which given how different English and Japanese are is an amazing and always admirable feat. <<less

Its a very dark r18 novel with most of the harem consisting of girls that are broken in some way. The main's way of adding them is itself pretty grim, as it has to be a willing (for a definition of consent) affair with the girl transforming in to some sort of humanoid demon or monster loyal to him upon orgasm. Spoilers for the first girl that sets the tone for the rest of the novel

Spoiler

She's raped and on the brink of death, saved only by the rather late arrival of the protag. She pratically dies as he f**ks her for dear life and transforms into a partially brain-dead golem but slowly regains her personality and memories as the story goes along.

[collapse]

Other additions to the harem are just as dark and the combat that exists is a tactical David vs Goliath thing with the protag always being on the weaker side but having the element of surprise on his side, as well as demonic powers that his enemies are never prepared for (but are capable of fighting back if unsurprised). He's not possessive, as he'll share his harem if helps him, but his primary goal in life so far is to just survive. The plot is strong in the sense that the MC is very motivated because of it, and strong enemies just don't stop coming. <<less

This is diabetes, the story. Jokes aside, this really is a web novel full of fluffy good feelings. You have your standard 30-ish year-old reincarnator but instead of the usual drivel we have him start right at the moment of birth - as a super cute white-haired blind girl. From there he (or rather, she) faces off against an enemy just as dangerous as any isekai end-game boss, the logical limitations of being 0-1 years old. Helping him/her is a wonderful cast consisting of her family members all being loving... more>> and kind to her. All throughout she struggles from her from-birth blindess and practices magic on the side as her family members dote on her.

There are two plots generally going on at the same time, you have the OP MC mage plot as the MC practices magic under everyone's noses, and your growing-up plot as the MC slowly experiences life as a beloved baby girl born to an extremely wealthy and loving family. The latter is the highlight of this novel and its best bit, his aunt, elder brother and sister, and mother and father are all extremely well-developed and have heart-warming and tear-jerking backstories to match. The sheer love they have for their youngest family member (the MC) just brings tears to the eyes as they unceasingly express their (familial) love for her. <<less

As far as smutty or erotic writing is concerned, this one gets a pass. Nothing hardcore so far, the MC likes to set a mood first and is slowly corrupting the super innocent red-haired ponytailed (apparently) loli-ish female main that he has taken as an apprentice for s*xual reasons. He's a super OP hero at the story's start and basically solved all the traditional world-ending problems (demon king invasion) at that point and seculded himself on the top of a mountain filled with end-game monsters. He called for apprentices (female... more>> only) for the sole reason that he can do lewds to them from a place away from the prying eyes of the world (said end-game mountain). There's comedy to be found here and the foundation of a good gag series (with lewds) as well. The girl is proving herself alot more talented and straight-laced than the protag had expected and his plan for degenerating her morals (for later lewds) is going well though the girl is slowly subverting his expectations (her skill and willpower are strengthening at abnormal levels). <<less

The premise is interesting enough to warrant reading just for it. You have a protagonist that isn't human and it isn't just about their race or body. Its a slime that thinks in a very logical and curious manner, with absolutely little in the way of morals that other R-18 protagonists usually exhibits. Even the rapist protagonists aren't driven like the slime here, pretty much all it does is for sustenance, learning, growth, rather than for its own pleasure. The fact that it dabbles in more deviant themes such as... more>> tentacles, slime, drugs, and mind break is something to consider. The whole thing is written a bit like a horror story with the protag as the monster/villain. Updates are very slow however so be warned that the novel continues for quite a bit but the translator isn't focusing on this so that kinda sucks. <<less

Easily one of my current favorite R18 novels (web and light). The author takes a much more slow pace to the lewds, building up characters and s*xual tension before starting with... foreplay and nothing more. Even this is build up to the actual s*x supposedly later on.

Character-wise, there's no supernatural elements besides the main character's amazing luck with the fairer s*x. He starts out as an every-day average guy but his habits and the girl's situations just happen to coincide to make for a somewhat believable romance between them. For... more>> example

Spoiler

one girl had the problem of being too beautiful, inside and out, and the ensuing popularity with men and jealousy from women practically ruined her life. Upon transferring to the MC's school the MC, being the average guy that he is, sees her as being massively beyond his league and doesn't really pay attention to her much. All the other guys on the other hand just can't get enough of the girl, and the girl sees the MC as being the one guy different from all the rest, someone she can bond with and trust not to go gaga on her (despite the fact he kinda does but just acts realistic about it). One thing leads to another and MC and girl become secret close friends and then slowly becoming more intimate as chapters go along. It doesn't even take long for the girl to confess attraction to the MC, because of what he initially provides her - companionship without having to worry about her looks and such. It also helps that our MC has an amazingly large penis, yes thats a thing.

[collapse]

The other girls in general also start out not being in-love with the MC but first become aware, then interested, then smitten, with him. Its honestly a refreshing vanilla pace compared with other R18 novels such as Pure Love x Insult (pace is somewhat similar but Erocom is much more vanilla and uncomplicated), Saimin Regulation (Mind control in high school but paced well with alot of mental f**kery rather than insta-YOU ARE MINE), Marietta-Hime no Konrei (Innocent lewds but in medieval kingdomy place), amongst others. <<less

Its a bunch of short, really short (around the length of filling out a letter-sized paper w/ 11-size font) bunch of stories that are barely connected save for the implication that the MC (POV character) is the same one mind controlling the girls featured into lewd acts. There is no real characterization or plot going on - he just says things and the girl he happens to be with does them. No setup or anything, no information on the MC circumstances, what the scenery is like, just a few short... more>> words on the appearance of the girl. The writing for the s*x isn't great either, a real dry description on what was being done, no flowery words of expressing how it feels for anyone involved. Its real boring.

As far as mind control goes you're better off getting your kinks from Adolescent Adam or X-ray is more than I thought. <<less

A good r18 novel, the protag is a reincarnator with pretty heavy ties to many of the other reincarnators, and this sets a good backstory for the rest of the plot that so far is pretty interesting. He has a special power that allows him to enslave people (females at his preference) and also power them up significantly, so battles are rather tactical affairs wherein the tension comes from how he's going to outsmart his (usually) more powerful enemies. His harem consists initially of mind-controlled adventurers but grows as the... more>> series goes along, there are arcs for them as he befriends and solves their problems and gains their love and trust anyway.

There is lewds that are pretty nice and well-written but I feel that they're not that important to the plot at all, kind like they're there because the novel is rated r18, not the other way around. At least you have a solid variety of girls and personalities the main can screw around with, though its a plainly human to human (oid) affair so far. There's a darker overall plot as the main appears to be going after demon lords and royalty with not so good intentions and rather evil powers but as of where I am that's still on the horizon. <<less

Before anything else it should be said that the plot starts out as a real Ecchi affair with little substance. However it actually is a kind of setup for later developments wherein the ecchi is actually pushed to the background for more effective drama. The MC does go through character development and so does his harem, despite him having what is essentially mind control powers he actually goes to avoid using it and it does fail fairly regularly against formidable women. The current chapters where I am has the story... more>> completely shift to a more ominous and dramatic tone, almost like what Arifureta eventually turned out as, so heads up.

The setting calls to mind other reincarnation stories wherein the MC starts out as a baby, Like Cloudy-eyed Lilianne or Chibi-Maou. There's less emphasis on the growing up story and more of the traditional development of the MC's OP skills and parameters like say, Death March or Slime Tensei. There's a somewhat interesting setting but its kinda more of the background, but monsters are pretty dark with humanoid mobs like kobolds or orcs stated to kidnap and rape women of other races for reproduction and fun. The MC gets the skills from the breast milk of the women he drinks from, with him starting out with the OP power of essentially mind controlling or charming women into falling in love for him, him being a 0 to 1-year old baby notwithstanding.

The plot starts out kinda slow and more of the collection of the MC's Harem, the various women of the village he inhabits and various visitors like adventurers and knights. The Ecchi factor is in the fact he has the full mental capacity of an adult male despite receiving the breast milk of many many women. The MC himself was a social recluse and throughout the story he has problems with being socially awkward, and yeah it can be really annoying. He uses his natural cuteness as a baby/shota and his mind control powers to get around this though. Its nice that he eventually grows to avoid abusing it and only uses it as a last resort, preferring to befriend women the normal way. Particular members of his harem, composed of almost exclusively older women breastfeeding him, are somewhat developed via backstory and short-ish character arcs. <<less

Its a good read if you just want to get in for the H or if you started with the Manga version, its a similar situation as Maou no Hajimekata or Himekishi ga Classmate where the manga adaption could arguably be considered the better option. H scenes are well written (or well edited) and the scenes up to the latest chapter (v6c2) cater to a wide variety of H situations, femdom, mind control, tentacles, light NTR, and even vanilla!

If you go into this for the plot it has its hooks,... more>> though the protag is very beta (kind of comparable to the male MC of Shakugan no Shana) with him carrying some kind of super power that the various world factions really want - namely the power to insta-horny any woman via eye sight. There's a good amount of intrigue going on and several haremettes are fleshed out and have their own plotlines away from the protag's PV. A word of warning though, it can get pretty dark and there are very (kinda) NTR scenes and the author does seem to like teasing his readers with them, the untranslated bits contain even more of them (still kinda NTR and not really full blown if you want to be specific on the definition). <<less

... Its not a bad web novel, per say, but you WILL need to be a bit more tolerant and on a certain state of mind to CONTINUE enjoying the comedy here. The main character is flat-out retarded, early on you can explain away some of the misunderstandings she has with some things but as the plot goes on it becomes really.... really... really irritating. The author is keeping the misunderstanding running gag for FAR TOO LONG.

The read is easy, few grammar or spelling mistakes, but you will kinda want... more>> to skip on some portions, since the MC will misunderstand the hell out of things and it becomes really predictable. There's a larger plot here and quite alot of intrigue but you'd have to endure the sheer SUSTAINED running gag of misunderstandings and the MC continually interpreting things in a very idiotic way - she may be under some kind of influence, I don't know, but really gets annoying after 50 or so times (You might run out of patience much earlier - I was forcing myself to read by that point). <<less

You have your traditional medieval world with a dark side, except that in this world large-scale warfare and violence is under-developed. The MC is a reasonable psychopath (yep) that wants nothing more than to face strong enemies and kill them, his greatest dream being facing down an enemy strong enough to kill him in return. He doesn't mind if what gets him is deception either, as he willingly lets people with grudges against him live in order to "grow" them up to be legitimate threats. He is extremely OP in... more>> terms of hand to hand and weapons combat, perception, and intelligence, due to personal training, and exhibits little to no explicitly magical abilities other than a "inventory" function. Harem? There kinda is but its a bit complicated. The MC is the important bit, remember his sole desire is conflict and a worthy foe, so women are not really his concern other than furthering that goal. Its a pretty fun novel because of how different your MC is compared to other isekai novels, here he just wants to kill worthy enemies. <<less

Its a mostly slow-paced story about a super bishojo elf girl trying to live out her retirement as a guild receptionist in a quiet backwater town. Writing is good and there's alot of backstory as well with the story starting well after the main character (said super pretty elf girl) had already finished her epic quests. She's as OP as you can get with the addition that she holds some passive buff that causes everyone around her to practically fall in love with her but she's very against using any... more>> of that and just wants to live quietly and peacefully, not that the world and the plot will ever let her. <<less
