Slower pace at beginning and become good pace now. No long fighting scene that takes few chapters to finish. The content is very interesting. The author makes very good effort on historical references. The author is Chinese so he seems lean toward his nation but not racist like other novels. He even researched on other countries' history. The war scenes are pretty well written. I assume the author has researched real geography/landscape before writing those plots. The interesting plots that keep me into it are the acquisition of new heroes,... more>> technology and war.

PS. Some readers complained about lack of conversations. But imo, that would drag story unnecessarily longer. Love interests are popping up here and there. But I'm fine with it. Too many historical characters and NPC mentioned. I admit I lost tracks. However, it's understandable because the author's plot is big. If you read Romance of Three kingdoms before, you'd be okay.

PS2: It would be great if the author or someone can provide map for China prefectures. <<less

The King’s Avatar

The story is very well-written. Big or small plots are well-thought and planned. It's quite slow pace as author explains every action every single fight. There are few funny cliche here and there. MC is op but he knows his limit. He runs away or schemes to overcome crisis. No pure luck or BS cheat as other norm novels.

Edition and Translation are superb. 5/5.

Con: It got bored from time to time as the main plot is all about gaming. MC is pretty much at Internet Cafe all day and night.... more>> (Life sucks?) Also, many actions in game which are explained in detail (too long). MC avatar runs around game map, doing quests, fighting, etc. I admit that I skipped few paragraphs during the fights. I had to read it alternately with other novels.

Overall - Very good read. Big applause to the author. <<less

Pet King

One of my favorite novels. It's light-heart but warm story. It's related to everyone's everyday life. MC has a small pet shop. He tries to make a living from his business with principles intact. Each arc of his pets is very interesting, touching and well written. It may be on slow side but it has merits why it needs slower pace than other normal Chinese Wuxia. The side plots of his friends/customers are also good. I believe it shows part of modern life style in China which by itself is... more>> very interesting. The author has done a lot of research and transforms the info to very interesting stories.

If you feel tired from normal Wuxia or want to change to something interesting read, this is THE ONE. Pet King is most underrated novel I've read so far. I still don't really like pets to be honest but couldn't put Pet King down. <<less
