Virtual World: Close Combat Mage

All the characters are extremely bland, except perhaps the MC's mercenary group having at least 2D characteristics. All the female players are insufferable and friendly with eachother. The MC is everyone else's bitch, he does everything for them under the guise of him being a "good person".

The only time he got pissed off was because some retarded woman from his guild almost lost him tens of thousands of dollars worth of top-grade equipment that belonged to a friend of his, but he immediately cucked out and forgave her. The MC... more>> gets embarrassed by some priest that heals him at random times and everyone calls that "teasing", I call that retarded.

A bunch of women from his guild attack him out of nowhere sometimes yet he doesn't retaliate because the MC is a "good person".

There's a point where he goes to another city and there's a woman married to the leader of a powerful guild, she f**ks with anyone who disrespects her and has her guildmates kill them and anyone from the same guild on sight then making them lose levels repeatedly, but then when he sees her again, he forgives her because "anyone would've done the same". Are you retarded ? Only the most psychotic would f**k this hard with people, he even tries to compare it to someone else helping him in a tavern by killing 5 guys whom he had just killed the friend of (because of a bounty collection mission). They were about to kill you ! It's not the same !

For some reason the MC hides that he's the guy who killed a dude he hated because it'd attract people challenging him, which I doubt, but he keeps doing it months later when everyone else lost interest.

The game rules are unreliable at best.
I can't describe how much I hate this novel. I hate every interaction between characters, there are some realistic ones here and there, but overall they suck and it gets worse the longer you read. <<less

Boring protagonists which has no backbone even though she is the most powerful being in the universe, the author wrote her in a way that she didn't understand how powerful she is, which is extremely frustrating, also, she beats herself up every god damn time something bad happens to anyone around her thinking "oh I could've saved them if I were stronger" and is selfless in the most stupid ways, to the point where if she were to recieve money from the king for saving the f**king country and she... more>> would want to give it back and even though she has a clear objective, which is finding the one-winged demon to get revenge, she does nothing about it, just wandering about, doing nothing. The writing is your usual easy to read, bland light-novel style. Also the author is using every overused childish trope there is, like a character hating themselves for being weak recieving a dark item and becoming strong and a bad, hateful person, but thankfully the main character saves them with the power of friendship. Oh and be prepared to be force-fed the "Killing people is bad, you shouldn't do it, no matter what even if the person is mega-hitler on steroids" morale, partly by way of introducing countless "evil" characters who kill people for fun.... because they're bad guys ! And they're evil, so they do evil things !

To summarize, this novel is childishly written, the sort of thing you'd expect out of a 14 year old who watched a lot of moralizing shows for kids which spouted things like : being evil and killing people is bad, friendship is magic, and wanted to do his own kind of story. <<less

Succubus-san’s Life in Another World

First person writing style, absolutely no descriptions, no nuance in anything. This could've been much better but it just leaves so much potential untapped, here are two examples : The protagonist is a succubus, but it doesn't change anything in the story, other than perhaps the ability to give people "lewd dreams", she doesn't have any downsides to being a succubus, she doesn't crave anything (hur hur), she doesn't really have any upsides other than, again, that useless magic, she needs to eat and all of that. Second example is... more>> that Pig Godddess who made her that way told her that, if she lost her chastity, she'd personnally destroy the world, but it's not like it's going to matter since this isn't going to have any impact, the protagonist doesn't want to lose her chastity from the start since this is a sh*tty Gender Bender japanese novel, there's not going to be any hetero relationships, she'll be lesbian at best, there's not going to be any romance or people she's in love with or that will try and trick her into having s*x with them and she's not going to get raped since she's basically a god in human form, she's the highest level existence in the entire world. And even though she's a effing succubus, she doesn't require draining people of their life essence in any way, like a vampire would require blood. <<less

This story starts off with the protagonist getting betrayed and thrown into some impossibly hard dungeon, he has only 1 goal, and that is, to survive. But then the dungeon gets easy and he forgets everything that happened, becoming careless, carefree. The revenge plot ? Nope, he's too cool for that, he used to care only about surviving, but now he doesn't care about anything. His hair turns white and all of his equipment is black and of course he has a trench coat. The MC gets bored and decides... more>> to conquer all of the great dungeons, even though he asks for a reason to help anyone (but then accepts whatever bullsh*t reason to save them, then acting like a melodramatic teen in the process spewing sh*t about never accepting help from anyone or something and helps them more than is needed) and of course he gets a harem because girls fall in lvoe with him left and right, even though he's an apathetic douche with no personnality whatsoever, and even though he's supposed to be this really cool dude, he's basically walking through supposedly impossibly hard dungeons having carefree conversations with his harem, there's absolutely no tension. Oh and then he meets his classmates, and even though he said he didn't care about them, he actually does and instead of ignoring them, he gets really shocked when he sees them. Urgh, this whole novels stinks of SOA, a novel which is only a symptom, not even the cause. Japan's light novel readers (most of them anyway) have no taste and have only read one or two novels in their lives, never tasting actual quality while the authors are made to sh*t out as many low-quality novels as possible that stroke our lowest instincts, because they're easy to write. <<less

Heart-warming story about a girl healing from her scars. The author's strong point is presenting a relatable protagonist with flaws and doesn't have the magic solution to everything. So relatable that I cried with the MC after she blew up her teacher's house in pure anguish and fear of being kicked out, even though it was obvious he wasn't going to do that. There is a s*xual undertone to this story which is handled very maturely, he doesn't go at length detailing some two-bit s*x scenes, he uses abstract language... more>> in a way that you wouldn't have realized they did it if you weren't paying attention. <<less

This novel is garbage, everything exists to emotionally validate the MC.

This is what a self-wank novel written by a woman looks like. Everything she does is absolutely perfect and everything she possesses is the best. She constantly pulls stuff out of her ass without any explanation about it.

Like the numerous times she set formation or how she knows how to make potions that regenerate Qi. She comes from the modern world without any magic. SO HOW does she know all these things ?

You could make the argument that the previous... more>> owner of the body knew how to set these formations, but that's wrong. Formations are apparently rare, since she never ran into one when she broke into houses and we haven't seen anyone else place them, so why should some two-bit female nobody that's got some very trashy cultivation know them?

As for potions, a recipe to make Qi-regenerating potions is apparently super-rare and worth a ton, and it doesn't look like the previous girl knew how to make potions. So it has to come from the MC, which knows about potions somehow, coming from the modern world. But that doesn't make sense since her world has no Qi.

There's also her martial art "Tai Chi" She teaches it to some random kid that's extremely malnourished and after 6 days of coaching, he somehow manages to be equal to some guy who trained martial arts for 20+ years. Sorry, I don't buy it.

This is such a stereotypical female MC in a cultivation world, when there are much better ones out there. No thought was put into the world, this is such a lazy novel, it only takes inspirations without ever trying to do something of its own.

The only interesting part is that she's disfigured, and it's done pretty badly. No one ever reacts badly to her scars, and when she wears a mask, everyone somehow finds that she's the prettiest girl in the world, because everyone's gotta emotionally validate her. She somehow knows how to cure her scars but never actively pursues it, moving the plot forward, making it her primary objective. No, she knows a way to cure it, gets some plant to create a potion, then it's never heard from again, and she stays disfigured. As for the vengeance plot ? Good luck with that. She encounters the girl who stole her identity and what does she do ? Play some mildly annoying prank on her to make her lose face. How f**king petty.
There's no plot, she's just dragged along by her companions while acting like an edgy goody-two-shoes, waiting for some girl to offer up her virginity before curing her brother and finally revealing the girl she was one as well all along. <<less

Most reviews are about bitching because they don't understand that you don't need an original setup to make a good story, it's all in the execution, which in this case is good, the characters aren't 1 dimensional throwaways, they have different personalities, but to be honest, there's not much to comment about this novel, the chapters are fairly short and the first 70 chapters are about the male part trying to get back to the female part, they have their own lives in the meantime and there's plenty of action... more>> but it's mostly done for world building purposes. About the protagonist's power, it's balanced, just his talent is twice as good as most normal people, which isn't even that strong. <<less

Praise the Orc!

The grammar is fine, the dialogues are written okaily. My problem stems from the fact that so many characters are helpless without the orc's help they just can't solve their retarded problems without the protagonist's help no matter how simple. Also there's a bunch of retarded sh*t like the rehabilitation force, who are the worst scum of this game but somehow, they become saints after being shown one poor person and having a 10 min conversation with them. As usual the protagonist is a selfless Angel and the only reason... more>> he has anything on his back is that the author writes the characters that he helps to be equally as selfless. No character development. Protagonist and all of the characters are unrelatable, I feel nothing for them even if they were to die. The protagonist has no flaws. The allies are selfless angels who'd give their lives to save a small animal, the villains are comically so, they're just inhuman sadist who kill and bully for the sake of it. Even in a video game, I don't think any major part of the player base could watch an npc in their eyes while stabbing them with their blade, because they have empathy and the author seems to be oblivious to that fact. Also the protagonist gets bullied for no reason. He walks into a bar orders cream pasta then some people sh*t on him because of how girly it supposedly is, they do so openly and they don't get their heads bashed in as a response, he f**king orders a whole pig and after that they're somehow dumbstruck??! Might I add that the person they're bullying is a f**king giant orc covered in tribal tattoos carrying a sword as big as he is ? That's a reason the protagonist is so unlikable. <<less

Survival Game

The premise just doesn't make any sense. Out fo 120 billion people, 40 billion will survive ? Isn't it just people have 2 kills on average then the game ends ? Seeing as everyone is killing eachother won't it end in a few hours then (in an hour or so in the game, the MC already managed to kill around 6 people) ? If you want to take the strongest people, why make it in some medieval-fantasy setting and not a modern one where you actually get to use weapons... more>> you would need in real life ? The MC doesn't feel like she's thinking at all, as well, she doesn't plan anything ahead, she doesn't think when some guy wants to follow her.

Oh and let's not forget the most important of all, they have absolutely no reason to be killing eachother but everyone seems to be the worst scum earth has ever seen. <<less

The characters become too diluted and start serving as foil for the protagonist after around 400 chapters, the story's pretty well written and the power system gets refreshing after 500 or so chapters. There is filler conversation which serves no pratical purposes and annoys quite a lot. I quite like this novel but it's starting to get pretty dull and I wonder what kind of interesting plot could make it revive.

Exactly what I wanted out of a light novel: Adventuring for the sake of not being bored, there's no demon lord to defeat, no world to save, she does what she wants and most importantly, she doesn't make it her duty to save absolutely everyone, she only saves people when it'd intrude with her light-hearted lifestyle.

Objectively garbage, can be a fun read if you don't find references to video games and novels jarring and enjoy when the trash-talk part before the fights are drawn out over whole chapters. This isn't a serious novel, and the author probably writes whatever entertains him in the moment, not what would entertain him to read. It suffers because of it as the system is a good idea, but levels upon levels of irony being piled up makes it boring.

Extremely bland female character that does absolutely nothing to deserve what she gets.

Her only character trait is that she's extremely happy-go-lucky and forgives offenses instantly and she never learns.

There was this time where the main male lead forces her to stroke his D, she becomes extremely mad, but then it's never heard from again. As if it never happened.

There are never any consequences for the actions of any characters. The plot is extremely simple but moves so slowly it bores me out of my mind. The events become extremely predictable... more>> as well : she goes and does something on her own, she gets into trouble and the prince saves her at the last moment. <<less

I'm at chapter 22 and there's still absolutely no plot.

The only reason people like it is because it's a very rarely seen slice of life comedy in a cultivation world.

I'd elaborate more in the ways this novel is bad but I don't want to waste anymore time on this wet piece of white bread.

Serious garbage, characters aren't relatable the protagonist is irrational, even more so when you take feelings into account, the writing is cringey, there are several times where the dialogues are downright terrible, others where the author uses tte and the like in a non-speech moment which make the novel feel amateurish because only a child would basically talk to themselves that way while she's serious/bland 99% of the time and has no reason to act that way. She has an infinite amount of power but gets insulted and is servile... more>> to everyone even people of lower status to her. It would usually make you feel for the protagonist were it not for the fact that she has infinite power and is extremely bland and unlikable. <<less

There's so little description that you still aren't sure that this is a fantasy medieval world, just that there is a temple, the author doesn't/barely describes people's looks, I'm not even sure he presented the way his parents look, hair color and all. We don't know what his house looks like, etc... This story is incredibly bare-bones, the plot goes all over the place (one minute he checks his power the other he saves his dad from some bullsh*t encounter) and as usual the MC doesn't have an objective, he... more>> somehow does 200 pushups a day and then gets surprised when he punshes a big guy into a wall. The race changing ability is barely described, we don't exactly know how it works.

Well, basically, the writing sucks. <<less
