So What If It’s an RPG World?

So far, this whole story is without a goal. There is no build up, no climax, nothing. The MC wanders around doings quests, getting into impossibly idiotic sotuations, and just generally being op. Not only that, the constant tsukkomi comedy is terrible. No offence, I like that kind of comedy... in moderation. They "drop a tsukkomi" seemingly multiple times per chapter which are relatively short compared to other light novels. Honestly, I only started this because of how much content was already released but I just can't continue. I can't... more>> truthfully say I completely regret starting this novel but I can say I regret reading as much of it as I have. It was good for a short while. Thats it.

One other problem is just how many mistakes the MC makes allllll the time. For example, the unique skills (sacrafices). By the time he unlocked being able to upgrade the skills, he still had many, if not all of, his skill points. As we noted with his mini-map skill, the unpleasant side effects of the skills have the possibility of being removed with more level-ups. With that in mind, would it not be worth the risk to instead invest in an over-powered skill like the one mentioned earlier in the novel with the ability of a god within a certain area but being trapped for eternity. If he could invest all of the skill points he earns afterwards in the skill, wouldn't it be possible to be invincible?

The point is, this MC just makes too many mistakes and its kind of frustrating him walking around all cheerily when hes doind stupid sh*t all the time.

Also, side note, with such a care-free character, throwing in serious moments like when talking about his fiance with "World" is just awkward and throws off the pace.

Anyways, this is a post from the guy who read to v4 c58 and rated 2/5. Thanks for suffering through my complaints.

I have read some of the comments and would like to address the 'issues' others have mentioned. But, if you don't really care about the negatives tgen please, I beg you, continue on past my two points and read from there.

Firstly, the prologue. Many have complained about it or even completely lost interest in the work because of it. I can't see it through their eyes, the prologue is one of the reasons I fell in love with this novel. It introduces Sheyan, our MC, and humanizes him. It clearly... more>> depicts a man, not some immortal, not some stereotypical op MC who even at the start is destined for greatness. Instead, the author gives you a man with real emotions, with a determination to protect those he loves, with a humble heart enough to sacrafice himself for those he loves. Those of you who have read into the series may, at this point, be raising your eyebrows and thinking, "humble, my ass, " but thats another lovely point to this novel; a character who actually grows and changes.

Lastly, we have a lot of complaints about over used punctuation and emphasis but is it really that big of a deal? Do you really need that punctuation to decide the tone at which you read? Disrefarding that, is punctuation really something that will separate you from the content of this novel? If so, then all I can say is I hope you have a wonderful life knowing that some of the best things in the world may be beyond your reach because the exclamation points turn you off!!!.

Now that we're past that, I'd like to talk about why you should read this novel, despite it's 'flaws'.

This novel may not have the most origional idea, may not follow all the guidelines of grammar, and may not be the most serious work but I promise you, it is at least twice as good as the average xianxia novel. It doesn't have some type of op MC who has some sudden luck at every incident, nore does it follow some 'get rich quick' scheme but with power. No, instead, the genius of Sheyan is the underpinning of the whole novel. This novel heavily focuses on the causation and all the tricks are extremely well thought out with reasoning and logic to support almost every action. Not only that but the tricks themselves stump me everynow and then and leaves me admiring how much thought was needed on the authors part.

I would like to conclude it here by stating: "If you can read my long ass comment, you can read the first volume, its much more entertaining anyways."

Goodbye eveyone, enjoy the read. <<less

Great story so far, very interesting and full of struggle, twists, and turns. Everyone in the comments is gushing over how the MC isn't some OP ruthless pyscho but I can't fully agree.

I mean, it IS great that it isn't another story where the MC is strong enough to 'challenge Gods' by the third chapter or whatever. My problem is that he is way too average for me personally. A MC should have some quality that seperates him from others, that puts him ahead. While this is very clear, it... more>> is only within his own species. Everything else can seemingly 'one hit KO' him.

I admit, I haven't read too far in so I can't be 100% sure whether this changes or not. As a reader, my prospective throughout this work will follow the MC and while I can say its nice not to be so OP, I also don't want to be completely powerless either. At least for now, I'm going to hold out on this and will probably pick it up later when I finish some of my other novels and there is more content. <<less

I like this novel, it is fun and interesting with just the right amount of comedy. My only problem with this novel, and the reason I am dropping it, is how many different translators it has passed through and the discommunication between them. I read a few chapters, have to come back to this page to continue on with a different translator, and repeat. Maybe this isn't the best reason to stop reading a novel but how much enjoyment I get from reading is out weighed by the annoyance, quality... more>> of translations at times, and the main fact that I can find a similar novel without a tremendous amount of effort. Sorry, I like this novel and if it gets this straightened out, I'd love to come back to it. <<less
