This one had alot of potential, but alas another where the MC is d*ckless, except when his “family/friends” are involved. MC has no romantic interest but wants to find his true love and ignores all the girls fawning over him left and right. He only sees them as sisters, mothers, friends in a sense. The story started off really good but quickly degenerates into a typical Japanese MC who is indecisive, no commitment and dense as f*ck. Read up to chapter 98 but time to stop.

in his real world he had his junior and his senior president of the archery club (both depicted as great beauties) confess to him and he turned them both down. Now some girls remind him of them and he can not become romantically interested in them because it would betray the girls he turned down..... umm yeah. this story is going no where fast

The Start of this story was a big turn off..... so much so I dropped it right away. However having nothing left to read I picked it up again. Glad I did.

Story is about a guy who dies and finds himself inside the body of a 7 year old boy in another world. Their mind merge into one having memories from both worlds. Rio is the name of the boy whom will hold both personalities, however Haru is the main guy who is the dominant and leading character here and... more>> makes all decisions, while Rio is just a background influence allowing him to remember and understand the world.

Rio had a tragic life and is full of hate and vengeance while Haru is a Japanese who is a pacifist. No killing under ANY circumstances... a clash of two extreme personalities. Who will win out? Can Haru maintain his no kill rule? As said Rio is in the background and is only giving off emotions, his memories and feelings, while Haru controls the body and decision making. There is no struggle for control in that sense as Haru took over the body, thus the adventure begins.

The Author has made it extremely hard on the MC so much so you will feel unease and sick to your stomach at times. You wonder why the MC must endure such hardships and the wrongs that are thrown at him so that others may save face. AND you will also feel anguish when those you thought were beholden to him as he saves them turn on him without a second thought.

The story is not all anguish and betrayal, but it sets the mood as you go forth into the story. There are also good times as well and lightheartedness. After chapter 10 things begin to settle down a bit and the story begins to progress in a positive manner, but the first 10 chapters are all bad imo. Get passed them to finally get to the real story.. The first 10 chapters are just to set up the “Humans are bad” story.

One thing that does bother me that does not pertain to this novel alone is the fact that the Japanese try to portray themselves as people who cherish life above all else, simply stating they can not kill, when in fact their history is filled with violence and killing on equal grounds compared to any other nation. The author is trying to say the Japanese have no thought of killing another human, and that may be true for today in SOME cases, but one can not disregard their past 1000+ years of history, that we the western viewers have come to see and in some cases even admire that history. Every person of every nation is capable of killing if the need arises, the question is what does it take. Some in rare cases can not even at the cost of their families life while others can kill without a second thought. This is not limited to the Japanese or any one nation, it pertains to us all. So when an author such as this writes “we Japanese who cherish life above all and can not kill” I find it hypocritical of him writing such when looking at their history as a whole. No country has a clean history...........

First 10 chapters 1/5 stars, the following chapters 4/5 and enjoyable. I will give it an overall 4/5 so others may enjoy the story as well. <<less

Oh boy, this one is definitely a fun read!

MC has not one, not two, not even three plot armors, but FIVE! The author does not hide the fact that the MC will always come out ahead no matter who he faces or how powerful. The MC is loyal to a fault and at the same time ruthless to a fault.

Plot armor spoilers

1. He has medical knowledge that exceeds all others and can cure just about anything.
2. He has a Gem/Pearl Artifact that melded with him and is immune to all poison, allows him to cure all poisons, harvest all herbs no matter difficulty, refine pills in mere minutes with 100% success and 100% effectiveness.
3 He has a necklaces artifact that interferes/reverses Karma and fate.
4. He met a girl who now resides in the Gem/Pearl who can kill anything and teaches, advises and helps him.
5. He can disguise himself and speak like any person without being caught.

[collapse]

The fights are extremely exaggerated and drawn out at times, but entertaining and fun, making you read, wondering how the MC is going to pull this win out.

The Harem is great, adorable and interesting. Many have said the females are all one dimensional, but this is not true. At 462 Chapters we are still being introduced to his Harem before we start moving on to the main story. Each female gets her own screen time with the MC to build up the romance and interaction between each is pretty good. Keep in mind this is a world where strong men have MANY wives and it is an accepted practice. The females know and understand this and even endorse it. It is basically a take on our own past where kings, emperors and other strong figures had wives and concubines and were looked favorably upon. As to the tournaments that keep popping up, it is also a take on our own take on today's sports events. Example the World Cup of Soccer/Football. Each region has their preliminaries to qualify. These events are followed by millions of people if not a billion around the world. The MC participates in the tournaments to increase not only his standing but those he represents. Power means everything in this world. And the more power you have the more women you have.

The story has a similar premise to ST in which there are different levels of existence. As of right now at chapter 462 we are sill in the "normal existence". It is hinted there are more levels of realms to visit/conquer. At C 462 we are still on the first plane. The MC is faithful to family and friends. He however does seem to fall in love easy, but at the same time can kill women while thinking what a waste. He will take advantage of any opportunity given to fondle or grope a woman and seem innocent when doing so. You have to read to understand as the situation is even something I would have done if I were in his shoes.

The Story flows nicely and is not repetitive as some have claimed if you read closely. At times you will roll your eyes thinking why the hell am I reading this, only to be drawn back in as the story continues. That is the beauty of the story, it draws you in and you really want to see how far, strong, how many wives, and kids the MC will have. Action wise, a lot!
Romance wise, very good and believable. At times when you think the MC will get NTR'ed, he breaks all rules and gets his girl. No worries, no NTR in this story, but you begin to feel uncomfortable at times, then breathe a sigh of relief when he wins.

MC is not stupid, nor is he indecisive. He will sleep with a girl if she lets him, no second thoughts. This is not random and he takes responsibility.

Very enjoyable read and looking forward to a long long journey ahead. At current pace, not surprised if this hits 5000+ chapters. 5/5 <<less

Do NOT read volume 4 unless it is posted after 1-1-2016. Reason is Author scrapped Vol 4 and is re-writing it. It was that god awful. When Vol 4 will be released is unknown if at all.

Vol 1 is an Arifuerta clone.... almost every thing in detail are the same in every way possible. Difference is MC here gains skills by dying, while in Arifuerta he gains them by eating monster meat. Everything else is the SAME. Vol 2 is where it starts to become it's own story more or less. Still entertaining, but again do not read vol 4, you WILL regret it.

I know I am going against the grain posting this, but I love this story. It is VERY entertaining and fun to read. MC is smart and not a douche bag, pu**y like most MC's. It is not everyone's cup of tea, but if you enjoyed Mushoku Tensei, then you will enjoy this. It has that kind of feel, even tho the stories differ in many many ways. It is just the feeling of it, not the plot line itself. Give it a read and find out for yourself.

An excellent read, BUT requires lots of patience.

The story itself is well drawn out and all the underlying details are descripted chapter after chapter.

This will not be everyone's type of read, in fact many will be turned off by the continuous information that is given, detailing backgrounds, descriptions and history of location and people that suddenly cut into the dialog. An example of such is during a fight scene a whole chapter is dedicated to a single move and the reaction and expression of each side character is given,... more>> this is not an exaggeration.

At chapter 187, we are still at the start of the story, the romance has yet to take hold, but there appears to be 3 love interests at this time tho one can probably be discounted, while the other two are up in the air.

The mysteries keep piling up as we progress VERY slowly and we scratch our heads impatiently wanting to know what the heck is going on, being drawn further and further into this great story.

The first and foremost question is, who the hell is the MC??????????? Where did he come from, what is his background, etc......... no one knows at this time. It is a turbulent time of war between the Human and Yao alliance vs the Demons, and we have yet to sep into this area of the story as we SLOWLY watch the MC power up and gain fame.

This is most definitely not for everyone, but for those that like to see a step by step build up of the MC, the budding romance blossom, friendships becoming iron clad and a story growing beyond imagination, this will be a fun ride.

I do warn you, the writer went into crazy mode on one fight and went a full 8 chapters of this one fight alone. 7 chapters of non stop fighting with the 8th being the conclusion......... it STILL gets 5/5 stars from me <<less

This is a SLOW developing story. But it is fun if you can get thru the first few chapters. Romance is there, but it seems only one girl so far while others are all tagging along to gain his love. The plot is unique in which he needs an army to fight his sister who is a monster that will destroy the land or he can run away and live a peaceful life in some other country.....

Spoiler

The catch is the army must be made of women who can resist his sisters charm.

Guided by his 7 ancestors he learns new skills and abilities over time. There are several plot twists and the MC is a bit of your typical Japanese MC but grows with time.

Read following spoiler at own risk, major major spoiler....... again do not read if you want to remain clueless.

Last warning major spoiler.

Seriously this is a MAJOR spoiler..........

Spoiler

anyone who has started to read Sevens Gaiden (the sequel to this) knows he winds up with 25 wives, so the harem route is definitely a go. Still going to be a fun read knowing this to see how it all worked out and what he gained and how he developed.

At times the dialog of the Ancestors is a pain to read when they are arguing, I actually skipped some of it at times as it was long winded. BUT there are times like when the MC levels up it is a pure delight to read and makes me laugh so hard. Best of Lyle award.... need I say more lmao. 4/5 -1 for long winded arguments. <<less

GREAT read. Read up to chapter 49 so far. There is NO NTR and probably will never happen as Arina is one scary bitch and makes all previous demon lords look like saints. Harem is a definite go and the story is a fun to read. MC is not your typical Japanese MC who is indecisive at times, he is also not spineless.

Spoiler

MC is aware that Arina loves him dearly and since they grew up as children, he only knows her weak and demure side. Also there was an event in her past which she almost lost her life due to bullying and he was unable to save her, and he swore never to allow that ever to happen again to her. He wants her to become independent of him and encourages her growth. As such he is not aware of her dark side. No he has absolutely no clue of her yandere side, if he knew he would probably run like hell, but alas he has no chance in hell of ever escaping her.

The cockblock is strong in this story, but really worth it in the end. I will repeat, Arina is YANDERE of the YANDERE. she puts all previous yandere to shame. Ye have been warned, laughing is not allowed or she will strangle you thru the monitor, that is how strong her yandere is..............

She protects the girls the MC likes and adds them to his harem (some of it is really messed up how she does it lol). There is ZERO chance of NTR.

AS of C254 you can scratch Romance and Beautiful female lead from the tags. Maybe in the future, who knows? At this time The MC is just a spoiled brat who got bullied and decided to take revenge not taking into account the consequences.

The MC is not likable in any way nor is he a saint or a justice seeking person. He is just a person full of hate and kills anyone who looks at him wrong.

The Author wrote the story at the 3rd grade level and there is no... more>> plot but just the flow of life theme. This is more slice of life than adventure with lots of killing. It is basically the life of a killer. The story itself is confusing and in no way has any direction but goes on the whim of the author who decides "oh yeah let throw in a grandson to taunt the MC and let the MC kill him so his grandfather can try to kill the MC and kill his entire family... good plot (pat on back) ".

As for love interests...... none.... nada..... ZERO........... do not get me wrong, girls like the MC, but he is blind, not dense, but blinded by hatred.

THe new arc starting at 252 may improve upon the story, but I am not getting my hopes up for this one. <<less

Enjoying this Novel so far. Up to C 25. MC is not OP as of yet and is developing. As per the description MC slept for 220 years and wakes up malnourished and dehydrated. No muscles no magic power left, everything is lost and has to start over.... or so you would think. Still having his knowledge from the past and at a ripe age of 24 (plus the 220 years) the MC sets of on a journey once again. You realize being a hero he can not leave things... more>> be. <<less

Spoiler

MC saves Horun, a girl who had given up, believing her life was over and only death from being the sacrifice of a dragon awaited her. Out of the sky the MC falls and kills the dragon. Horun sees the MC and believes he is 15 years old but later find out he is almost 18 and she is 19. She now sees him as her savior and benefactor to her new life.

Then Horun returns home as news of the dragon is dead is spread. Of course the MC hides the info with Horun and Alice that he killed it. Horun’s Father imprisons her and forces marriage interviews for his gains. The MC rushes to her rescue and disgueses himself as a maid to be near her to protect her. The MC is saved by a noble I call Mr Justice (who is much older btw), imagine a hero singing “here I come to save the day” and you have him. He is very flamboyant and a champion of justice (I really really hate those type). (MC is saved from being raped by another noble who thinks he is a cute maid, and MR justice intervenes avoiding the MC disguise from being blown). One thing leads to another and Horun is freed and she once again thanks the MC for being there for her.

MR Justice asks for her help in his country to save an ill Noble, Horun is a specialist in healing. And off she goes with Alice and MR justice to save the Noble. A few chapters later we are suddenly informed Horun has fallen in love with Mr Justice as he saved her from a monster attack and is reliable, none of that was written in the book or shown, we are simply told it............... However get this, Horun needs a special herb that only grows where the gods are. So once again she relies on the MC to "save" her and gather he herbs. He drops EVERYTHING he is doing right then and there to help her. The place is insanely dangerous according to ppl and the MC with flying colors gets them and brings them to Horun, this once again she is in his debts of saves.... but yet she loves Mr Justice who saved her from a monster while traveling to the Nobles house she has to heal. Makes sense right??? Right?

I am hoping this was a plot by the author that is later cleared up. Right now gets a 2/5 and hope it develops better. <<less

Read all 18 volumes...... sigh. Had potential, but sadly spinning its wheels on the romance department. Erica is best female ever and at one point things got good between her and Godou, but them the author did a 180 on the romance and it faded away (on Godou's part).

I really enjoyed the story up to a degree, but the big turn off is Godou and not accepting the girls, tho they do get into some heavy kissing, even a 5-some heavy kissing, but that is it.

As for action and... more>> well thought out, themes no complaints there, fun and addictive. We can all conclude he ending tho, as typical of most novel endings in this case.....

FANTASTIC!!!

Based on some reviews I almost skipped this. Let me clarify a few negative points

Spoiler

To the rape: Bing’er the female lead, aware that he was awakening his jewel, let her guard down and knew it was possible that in some cases the person who awakens needs a sacrifice to bring their jewel out. She let her guard down and rushed into his tent during his awakening. He was already out of his mind, controlled by the black gem. He grabbed her and her mind too went blank. They were surrounded by a cocoon and both went at it, mutual s*x. However when it was over and she became aware of what happened she broke down, as she did not want it to happen but it did. The MC too, became aware of it after and swore to make it up to her no matter how and has devoted himself to win her over. The love story is awesome. Watch as they progress step by step. Very well done.

Is the MC a pervert. YES!!! But in a good way. Kinda like Saito from Familiar of Zero. He does not sleep around. His harem is growing unbeknownst to him. He is not shy to express his feelings or lust. Bu does not go all the way with them for he does not want to betray Bing’er. He is more afraid of losing her than death itself. Hell even his teachers father offered her as a concubine to him to join his sect and he refused!

One of my guilty pleasures. Decent story and decent s*x. A great mix. MC is somewhat perverted, but the girls are not naive (they know and understand what they are getting into) and stupid (well the main Heroine may be an exception hehe) nor are they forced to do anything they do not want to do. Do as the Romans do so they say, and the MC does it well. I have read other R18 novels and the typical theme is the MC is a douche bag scum of some... more>> kind and takes advantage of the girls. Here it is consensual and fun to read. No hypnosis, no mind breaks... just regular fun relationships. It is Harem and it is consensual.

Action is there as well. The MC is OP with his cheat but does not want to draw attention to himself of the famous kind... well you have to read it to understand why, the H scenes are not abundant and not as descriptive as other R-18 novels and leaves some to the imagination at times. Enjoyment factor 5/5. <<less

I enjoyed the WN until the MC started doing stupid stuff. Is it worth the read? To some degree yes, if you have nothing else. The romance tag is misleading. The MC loves someone, but not those whom you would think should be it. Very disappointing tbh. In fact the romance aspect is near non existent. 3/5 stars at best as of V13C6.

AS of chapter 242 3/5. But must keep in mind this story is still in the development phase as is always the case of this genre. The first 97 chapters were basically a snooze fest, but after it starts to get much much better.

Once the Harem starts to develop, things lighten up, get interesting. The combat system is a mess. there are different ranks and each rank have different ratings. bronze, silver, gold, platinum and more beyond that. each has 10 ratings, you would think a gold 2 can kick... more>> a bronze 8 butt, but this is not the case....... do not ask why, just accept it and the headache will go away.

Humor is ok, at times funny other times lost in translation. The MC is perverted, and does at times take liberties with his girls, such as fondle or groping.

The thing that confused me the most is the MC is supposed to be a NEET, but he is very street smart, has a quick tongue and can argue/lie with the best, he is beyond bold and arrogant. Also one bad aspect is he sees everyone as an NPC, so killing male or female does not matter to him, yet his "new" family and his friends he protects with his life at any cost. To me a contradiction in terms of his view of ppl. I guess as the story progresses, his view slowly changes as he adapts to the new world and before he notices it, he is a part of it, but everyone once in a while he says something to the affect of "they are only NPC's".

The other confusing thing is, his entire harem all grew up together...... wtf? They basically lived like family together. However how he meets each and wins their affection is totally by chance (thus far as we know). Many mysteries are still being thrown at us at this stage of the story with almost no answers given.... so one must be patient for a while yet. <<less

I have really high hopes for this one. Double betrayal story, both the male and female MC are betrayed by the people who summoned them. Now on the road, learning about the new world they are in, they are making new discoveries as they move along. The Male MC is ruthless and cunning, while the female MC is timid and shy, but slowly coming out of her shell with the guidance of the Male MC. His unique abilities make this story smart and fun to read. MUST read so far... more>> imo. So far only 7 chapters in, but really high expectations from this one. <<less
