I'm a making a review because I'm the translator.

So, this novel is a light-hearted comedy that refreshes your day. It's not like your normal reincarnation novel, mainly because of it's un-seriousness, and the fact that there's no harem; the MC collects pets instead. Give this a read if you want an original, funny JP novel, or if you had a long day, and you want a break. If you want a serious novel, then go back; this isn't for you.

There's also some chapters that will give you diabetes.

Other than that,... more>> there's the fact that the translation quality is amazing. (Yes, I know that I'm thick skinned) <<less

Princes Battle to Concede the Throne

I like this. I like this a lot. In fact, I like this so much that, after I translated the first chapter out of boredom, I decided to translate more. Battle Over Giving Up the Throne is the top comedy novel for the year on Syosetu, the most popular Japanese novel uploading site, for good reason. It's unique, it's funny, and it's not another boring beta-male harem isekai. Give it a read!

A funny and cute story!

Interesting main character, and the translation is readable. Shows an interesting premise, even at chapter one, and I'm hoping for more!

Trapped in This Boring Room!
August 22, 2017
Status: epilogue
This is a short story 12 chapters long. It's written by the author who wrote Mushoku Tensei, though it's a different style, and most certainly not isekai. Funny thing is, the author's novel was at 1st place when this work was written. (Slime tensei took the title after its anime was released)

Imagine you're trapped in a room. No reason given. You're just there, inexplicably, and you have to write your way out, surpassing even long-standing novels that have been out for a decade. You only have 1 year to... more>> do so.

It isn't easy. In fact, it seems impossible for it to be accomplished. Without cheating, that is. This is the story of a man driven insane by captivity and what it took for him to get out of the room.

I encourage you to read 'til the end, because it's worth it. <<less

Instead of truck-san, we have the second most popular reincarnation death, murder! This is a pretty normal isekai reincarnation novel, but the cheat, or uncheat, and the MC seem to be different from the norm. It's impossible to tell too much on c3, but the MC seems to be less squeamish than other isekai protagonists. Since he's a jack of all trades and a master of none, does that mean that he's a jack at being a psychologist? Anyways, we have a (possible) non-beta MC and an interesting cheat in... more>> a normal isekai fantasy.

TL;DR: Action and a possible non-beta MC. <<less

My Pet Is a Holy Maiden

Translator review!

Plot - 8/10
Even though this is a fluffy novel, it has a well-thought-out plot, with rare holes. Though it uses the common formula of a beautiful girl summoning the average male, it goes off formula into originality by making the beautiful girl the MC's reincarnated pet and giving her an actual good reason to summon him, instead of the bullsh*t idea of summoning a random person and praying that they'll help you do XYZ just because. As mentioned before, the plot is unlike that of a normal shounen.... more>> This is not a "train -> get triggered by 'evil' deeds by enemy -> fight enemy -> win" loop, but a more-rooted-in-reality type novel with the MC as a fairly weak person, and with him actually losing to an enemy when he didn't make a plan beforehand.
Characters - 7/10
Tatsumi is the normal Japanese beta-male (?) MC. On rare occasions, he's actually proactive!
Calcedonia, the main heroine, is the cute and powerful heroine that you've always wanted. Also has big boobs. There's lots of fanservice material from her. Aside from that, she's... quite normal. I can't say anything good about her character, at least in the sense of originality and character development, but neither can I say anything bad. This is pretty much the same for other characters in the novel.
Setting - 8/10
Has a fairly original one with little this-seems-out-of-place things in it. Notice the fairly in fairly original. As always, there's an adventurer guild and some races copied off of other stories.
Comedy - 7/10
Somewhat rare, but when it appears, it guarantees something more than a giggle.
Fluffiness - 10/10
Why else would you read this novel? The action may be intense, the plot may be interesting, but it's the fluffiness, sweetness, and cuteness that takes the cake! There's no harem and they love each other from the start. And they make that quite apparent. But in a good way! Or, perhaps, in a diabetes-inducing way. A type of diabetes that you could die for.
Overall - 9/10
Basically, this is a nice novel that makes you happy. No NTR, and Calcedonia clearly only wants Tatsumi. You can't not enjoy this. <<less

A Misunderstood Mentor
April 29, 2020
Status: c4
As a translator, I belong to the type that reads as they translate. I've only translated 4 chapters at this point, so I'll just be reviewing my initial impressions.

I found this novel when browsing through the rankings of the top comedy novels on syosetu. Com, and to my pleasant surprise, A Misunderstood Mentor won a writing competition and has two published novels.

I began translating the first chapter earlier this year as a teaser. I didn't think too much about it at that point, but as the novel itself looked quite... more>> interesting, I did a second chapter. Alright, the second chapter wasn't that bad either, but the novel itself wasn't good enough to make my lazy bum quit my addiction of League of Legends for the few hours it'd take me to do a chapter.

And so I left it alone for three months. Until I was looking for a novel to translate, of course, after I suffered a loss because of my monkey teammates. I did a third chapter of it and I thought it was a lot better than I remembered. "Why not?" I asked myself. I translated the fourth chapter, and f*ck. I almost couldn't translate certain parts because I was laughing so hard.

I'd recommend reading the novel even with the low number of chapters currently translated, just because it's so funny. If you're looking for a quick laugh, this novel is for you! <<less

Battle of the Third Reich

Pretty interesting so far. As said in the synopsis, a Chinese dude, who somehow can speak fluent English and German, goes on a plane and crashes into a submarine. That's 8 chappies of content for ya~

Anyways, it's built on an interisting premise, but we'll have to see when the translator, with his super fast translation speed, gets some more done.

Reincarnated as My Little Sister
October 14, 2018
Status: c35
The novel, "Reincarnated as My Little Sister, " starts off with a dark turn; the protagonist wakes up with a knife through his stomach. However, that's only the first chapter. The MC doesn't follow the actions of other (Chinese) MCs and get revenge. No, he is denied of that. Instead, he decides to take revenge on his murderer in the happiest way possible.

(S) he decides to become the best little sister ever.

This is a super fluffy comedy novel featuring a brocon imouto and a siscon nii-san.

Edit: The novel gets... more>> even more interesting after chapter 30. <<less

Until the Saint Loves Back

Translator review!

This is a very short story that will take around 3-7 minutes to read, so there's no harm in reading this. Until the Saint Loves Back is a light-hearted romance fairy tale about an overworked saint and a kind dragon. It's short, it's sweet, and the translation quality couldn't be better! What's not to like about this?

My Sister the Heroine, and I the Villainess
January 9, 2019
Status: c90
This novel is great. It's amazing.

It starts off slow. Fluff rom-com, and honestly not that different from other otome game reincarnation novels for the first 80 chapters.

It's written well, though, and Michelie and Christina's interactions, while repetitive, never fail to trigger my inner diabetes. Worth the read as a fluff SoL, similar to Loner and Juliet and Reincarnated as My Little Sister.

Now, if you've made it to c80, the story truly starts getting good. It changes from a fluff SoL to a masterpiece of feels that equals the works of... more>> Jun Maeda. The previous 80 chapters of fluff build up to this point, and you will agree with me that My Sister the Heroine is the absolute best novel in its genre. <<less
