Hello, Wife!

I will, reluctantly, wait for more chapters before I read this. Every historical novel should take note of the line: "Good men would not let the women they love fight with the mistress but get rid of them on their own". I am so tired of reading novels of women having to constantly scheme to survive. It is probable easier said than done, but I would seriously consider living my life as a nun if I were transported back in time.

Common Sense of a Warrior

Very interesting. This is actually the story of the mother from "Common Sense of a Duke’s Daughter". I have only read the description above, but I just had to write something the moment I realized who the main character was. Who would have guessed that the gentle and elegant mother actually wanted to join the army once. I'm really excited about reading this, but I want to wait until a few more chapters have been released.

In the typical villainess story, the FL becomes aware of her role as the villainess, act differently from the original plotline and thereby captures the heart of the ML. This story differs in the fact that the ML has been in love with the FL since the beginning, and this I why I hate it.

Spoiler

The ML is extremely possessive and jealous. He has been in love with the FL since they were children and would do everything to keep her by his side. Everything with the heroine is a misunderstanding. He spends time with her because his friend is in love with her and he has difficulties rejecting her because he as the prince has to be courteous. In the original plotline, the ML fell out of love with the FL, because she out of jealousy was mean to the heroine. In this plotline, the FL endures the provocation of the heroine and this allows her to keep the ML.

ML: "If there is any man around you, I want to kill him. And if you were to choose any man other than me, I will kill all of the men you chose, so prepare yourself" (v1c3).

The existence of the original plotline makes me hate the ML. And our insight in his possessiveness makes me hate him even more. If his love for the FL is so strong, then how could her display of jealousy be enough to make him abandon 10 years of love and marry another woman? Why is he allowed to kill all the men around her, while she can't even splash tea at the heroine without falling out of favor? Besides, he knows that the heroine provoked the FL to act that way. In this plotline he is even surprised that the FL is able to remain calm.

The way females are portrayed in this novel is horrible. Except for the FL and a few others, every female in this novel make me disgusted. Once they see a handsome guy, they throw away any kind of dignity and use any available means to obtain him. Rejection and humiliation only motivate them to continue and even in death they refuse to accept the truth. It's really difficult to enjoy this novel, when these kind of women are everywhere. Just when you think it's over, another woman with the exact... more>> same horrible personality appears. It's really frustrating to see the FL getting harassed over and over again because of her relationship with the ML. Even when the ML is cruel to them, they never blame him. Instead they fall more in love with him and hate the FL even more. <<less

Breaking Off the Engagement… Bring it on!

The fiancee of the main character breaks off their engagement in order to test her feelings, but it doesn't go as planned since she happily agrees. The plot is interesting, but the misunderstandings are stupid and the main character is annoyingly dense. The reactions and comments of the people around her all clearly indicates that her fiancee has feelings for her and yet she just repeatedly ignores it all. Even denseness must have a limit! Furthermore, all these misunderstandings could have been avoided if someone just explained the situation to... more>> her from the beginning. <<less

This is the kind of novel that makes my inner feminist cry out in anger. It pains me that such a young girl have to struggle all alone to defend herself against schemes from both family and outsiders. It frustrates me that she is helpless in controlling her own life and deciding her own future. And it angers me that she has to suffer, because she makes sacrifices for people who will not do the same for her. The one she loves refuses to give her the position of the... more>> main wife, the one who is willing is the guy who previously trampled upon her love, and the most descent one is not man enough to fight for her. The novel deserves a high rating for the reality and the depth that it depicts, but I have decided to rate according to my preferences. <<less

It starts out like any other transmigration story, where the FL wakes up in the body of a waste, transforms to a genius and attracts the perfect ML. Afterwards, it's just a story on repeat:

  • The FL meets greedy, arrogant or jealous people, who is obsessed with killing her.
  • She is chased around for a few rounds, since her enemies always manage to escape death.
  • The enemy finally dies and the FL meets new unreasonable people, who chases her around.
The FL gains enemies no matter where she goes. Either she has a natural... more>> ability to attract unreasonable people or the world only have a few good people. Anyway, it doesn't make sense.

Spoiler

All the female enemies of the FL are favoured no matter where they go, because of their beauty.

The FL later on becomes stunningly beautiful, but all she gets are more enemies.

My Sassy ‘Crown Princess’

My first expression of this novel was extremely good, since I really liked the MC. He is definitely sassy and shameless, but in an adorable and funny way. But he has one flaw that really ruins the novel for me and that is his tendency to let people take advantage of him or treat him unjustly. He does nothing, when the ML is being a jerk to him, when his contractual beasts are being extremely disrespectful to him and when other people does not give him what he deserves or... more>> has been promised. He is too nice for his own good and that is one of the worst traits a person can have. <<less

Love Me Again

It would have been interesting to see the mother have a second chance at winning the heart of her husband. She ruined her own marriage by constantly suspecting him of cheating. He reconciled with the stepmother, because he thought she was more considerate and gentle.
