Love it! This is the kind of novel I've been looking for! Strong intelligent female lead? ✓ Political maneuvers? ✓ Romance? ✓ Heartwarming family? ✓ A little action? ✓ No harem? ✓

Best of all? The author seems to treat the characters with a little dignity, actually giving them an actual brain! The things you learn!

I'm very happy to have discovered this.

Looking forward to reading more.

Thank you translators! ≪3~

Honestly the one of best foreign novels I've read. I love the world building, magic system, characters, and development. Erica's character especially resonated with me.
Spoiler

I love characters that are not necessarily op at the start whom discover hidden talent in what they thought to be a hindrance.

Having been both a DM and a player of DnD, this story is like reading an adventure. Anyone who remotely likes role-playing or anything of the sort should read this. And even if you don't? Still read it.

However, action isn't the only thing this book has, the world building is well thought out and the foreshadowing is real bro. Original races with peculiar names, backstories--histories! It feels as if it's a whole new world. Even the magic system is explored and explained. As for foreshadowing stuff mentioned in the first arc is referenced or a clue of an event 70 chapters later. It's masterful.

The bad: slooow af. Like literally it's a slow start. However think of it as an epic, a slow start to a grand story.
Spoiler

Also, for some people, Eirca's powerlessness may be a deterrent. But! Worry not, that changes 3rd arc. Additionally, her cautious and unromantic character may prove to be a bit vexing at times but keep in mind a) she was killed by a yandere man in her past life and called a slut for no reason in school b) not everyone has the luxury of being a super op reincarnated MC who can just do whatever they want and being cautious never hurts, right?

[collapse]

Characters are changed, people have brains, and Erica is best girl. Harold is best boi. Fite me.

Yay.

Tips for all readers: don't read the 4th arc. The official story ends at the third, and if you want to keep the feelings of respect you will have for the story, don't read the 4th arc. It's not bad. It's just boring and a waste of time. And it's really off-topic and quite frankly, I don't quite understand why it exists!

So. I'm rating this as of end of arc 3 and shirt stories.

Great read!

I love this novel!!!

It was so much more than I expected. I was reading it, mildly expecting some fluff, and light doting family shenanigans, but I was pleasantly surprised as it turned out to be much more to my liking than a ordinary "no plot mindless fluff puff" story. It has engaging world building, unexpected twists, a storyline that is very adventurous and also magic! I've been searching for a really good isekai for a while and this has answered my call. While for some people, they read this expecting... more>> moe and are disappointed in the lack of moe after a certain point, I find that I far value the adventure and journey that they go through to be far more enjoyable than Moe fluff. <<less

TBH I feel the trashiness of the humans in "game" is overdone.

Kinda enjoyable I guess tho.

The similarities to the author's other work makes the story seem repetitive to me, and the writing style is not for me, despite the good translations. However, I've come this far, and it hasn't been all unenjoyable. Blobsy kept me reading.

The Girl Who Ate a Death God

For whatever reason, I enjoyed this. Normally, war stories are not my cup of tea, and if it's included in the story I read, it might be an arc or something, but certainly not the whole focus of the story. However, with this novel, I found myself laughing and enjoying her story as she sent fear into the hearts of her enemies. It was by no means a story of love or change. By the end, the only thing I could think, "man these people sure got a lotta problems."
