Honestly, this might not be the novel for most of you anti-cliche people out there... For many reasons.

This novel starts out with a small introduction to why he'll become edgy, then it'll go to the present after that. Also, this novel has a medieval-like setting.

The MC, like most edgy novels, starts out as an average NPC-like character with either a beauty or a handsome dude for his friends. Then he gets betrayed even though he did nothing wrong, and after he turns revenge into his goal, he gets some... more>> strange power afterwards and so on and so forth. It's just full of clichés.

But even though I pointed out all of those, I'll still rate it a 4/5 (for now) mostly cause I'm pretty biased and I like edgy novels regardless of the Mainstream aspects. <<less

If you're a person who likes to see the MC being OP and wins all the time, this novel might not be the one for you.

This novel's about an MC who solves the past regrets of a certain Ghost Friend, who accompanies him throughout this novel.

The ghost's past regrets mainly consist of females who he left, females who are broken or would be broken. The MC here tries to help each and everyone of them one by one, but as he solves these regrets, he himself is slowly being... more>> fixed, cause even he was broken due to events in he past.

The character development here is definitely of high quality, especially the MC's development. The side-characters here are 3 dimensional and sometimes accompanies him in times of trouble. The antagonists in this novel actually do their jobs, they're made to hinder the MC, not place him in a pedestal. The romance here is quite exquisite and really... Bittersweet.

This novel's also basically a mentally Ill boy who found a toy box with broken toys, and him tying to fix the broken toys that's fixing his own self.

All in all, I'd give this a novel a 4.5/5 (deducted.5 due to personal preferences) <<less

A Monster Who Levels Up

Honestly, I really like plot idea of this novel.

So basically, a guy suddenly turns to a monster capable of evolving into other monsters... That basically sums it all up, and I like it.

But there's also a lot of problems I found about it.

First, it's the constant pedestal placing of the MC; He always ends up getting huge amounts attention and not cause of infamy. It's like every problem that occurs with the public is only made for the MC to be placed in a pedestal... They're not even problems... They're... more>> just fodder.

Second, focuses too much on romanticizing this novel; for example, He always turns to a specific monster that saves people and he never does anything bad intentionally.

first it happened with his wolf form, next it happened with his baby Leviathan form, then it happened with it's orc form.

it got really repetitive and annoying.

Third, shallow characters; the side-characters here are too two dimensional. They don't have a unique personality, their personality keeps on changing. There's no growth at all regarding character development.

Fourth, boring MC... He barely has a fun side to him... I don't like it.

I thought this would be a good novel, sadly, I was disappointed. <<less

Most of you must've already seen one of the common novel tropes and clichés about an OP MC that used to work for the demon lord, or is related to said demon lord, that quit or left the demon side for some reason, went to the human side while hiding his/her powers blablablabla.

Well, this novel's pretty much like that... If you include the fact that his teammates are also low key overpowered.

I can only say about this much since the tl's only at ch4, but I'll change the reviews ratings... more>> as I go.

So far, I'd rate it a 4.5/5 <<less

Are you the the of person that likes seeing the MC face slap every single enemy he encounters? The type of person that likes seeing the MC being badass all the time? If that's the case, then this novel may not necessarily fit your taste.

This novel focuses on the MC, but it also focuses on the people connected to the MC and their present states and back stories. The MC here, to me, is more of a medium or catalyst that helps out on revealing the side-characters' stories and connecting... more>> them all together to complete the pieces of the puzzle, but don't worry, the MC still does end up being badass at Every end of an arc.

The main genre here leans more on the psychological side, for it revolves around the human nature and how it works; this novel does not have the aspect of "black and white" cause only gray exists, meaning, good people may do bad things to other good people for the past bad things they have done, so it merely depends on the perspective or persona of a character to determine the good and bad part.

Characters are really colorful here too, I can't explain most of them cause there's so much variety, just read the novel and you'll understand.

I really like the plot idea, it's really original; the Characters are just up my alleyway, and the vibe it gives is definitely my taste. I'll give it a 5/5. <<less

It's a work of Toika's, so I have really high expectations for it. And as of now, it surely is meeting, if not, exceeding my expectations.

First of all, I thought this novel had no romance in it considering there's no tag stating that there is romance, turns out I was wrong. It even seems like the plot will rely heavily in the romance seeing as though the heroine's highly influenced by it.

The characters here are also quite fun and entertaining (I liked the merchant), I just hope that this novel... more>> will maintain that fact, would be nice if the newer characters aren't made only to place the MC on a pedestal.

The MC and the Heroine's personality is quite entertaining too, especially the Heroine, I'm just hoping that this fact will remain consistent, like some novel's protagonists' personalities change and bend for the plot. It loses its own uniqueness.

I'm really liking it so far, so for now, I'd rate it a 5/5. <<less

Beginning and mid chapters were the cream of the crop, late chapters were lame, ending was good, but it could have certainly done better, after word was beautiful, especially the Chu Yuyan part; made me shed some tears.
