There's light novels, then there's writing 141 chapters about the day to day life of a 0-3 year old in a world without technology. The Last 90 or so chapters have done pretty much nothing plot wise, and can be summarized by: s*xually assaulting maids, trying to teach a dog basic math, and becoming a secret Godmode protagonist.

I forced myself through a few more chapters, no changes. Last 5 chapters were basically explaining how what amounts to a magic iPad works and why it's not very good. Still a blind... more>> 3 year old with oddly oblivious caretakers, in a story that insists on a 1 chapter= 1 day progression of time with the standard 10 chapters till amazing powerup LNs are known for. So basically a blind 3 year old is now the most powerful wizard in the country and the foremost researcher and she hasn't even been to school, nor will she for several thousand chapters at this rate.

This is about as good as you can reasonably expect the Otome genre to get. Maybe I'm jaded but it seems like 80% of reincarnation stories are "I woke up in an Otome game and...*insert every sitcom trope*"

It's the best of a bad gener, and probably about the only one I've encountered that passes a Becktel Test (2 named female characters talk about something that isn't a male character. That's literally how low the bar is and most still fail by the time I give up on them).

If you like... more>> the genre you'll love it, if you don't like the genre you'll wonder where the conflict is for the first 40 some chapters. Though

the excommunication ark could have been quite a bit higher stakes it still handled it fairly well and the after portion gave a few side characters some much needed development.

This ticks all the boxes of a well translated, well written, and enjoyable light novel.

Dropped by translator for reasons unknown.

If someone with the skill level of the original translator would pick this up they could get tons of readers, but it appears to be totally abandoned and forgotten by all but the readers.

I Shall Survive Using Potions!

It had potential, then it threw it all away. Her powers make potion creation about as exciting as consol commands in Skyrim, her personality is almost physically painful (it wouldn't be so bad if she wasn't learning impaired "I can't just use my powers in the open." *immediately uses powers in the open*), and she constantly name drops a freaking goddess.

There's an old manga called "Potion Mania" that only has like 3 chapters translated that does this concept much better and doesn't even have reincarnation. It's just about an orphan... more>> girl who gets by as a traveling Alchemist. <<less

TLDR: Author is so obsessed with "cool moments" the MC's IQ constantly drops to the negatives.

It's a bit like the DC live action movies. AKA the characters abilities and personalities are ignored to set up plot moments the author thinks are cool. The end result is a dragon that fights like he's a dog because he doesn't want to use an attack he specifically set himself up to be able to use before the fight. And other moronic bullsh*t like almost dying repeatedly from enemies he literally had the ability... more>> to kill in one hit, being unnecessarily brutal during a mercy killing then feeling sad that the humans dont like him after he literally bit a guy's head off in front of them and ate it.

Having cool moments is fine, but having 10 chapters of absolute stupidity to set them up defeats the purpose. <<less

There's slow, then there's skipping 90% of a chapter without missing anything relevant. The vast majority of chapter 1 was just an explanation of how light novels get made. It had nothing to do with the characters or their situation. Worse, it was an incredibly redundant explanation, re-explaining multiple times.

End result: too boring for me.

NOTICE the above 77 is referring to the MANGA.

TLDR: I would like this a lot more if the MC wasn't an indecisive idiot. The plot conflicts horribly with the premise.

When the MC is presented with genuine, literally irrefutable proof that the guy sharing the face of her former husband has at least some of his memories? She spends 50+ chapters agonizing over whether or not it might be true, despite literal proof (MC herself) that it's possible to remember past lives, and that such memories may be confusing. But no.... more>> She's gotta complain to herself that he's cold to her when she refuses to tell him the exact information he wants and has asked for repeatedly.

Classmates think she shouldn't be in school cuz she's a "dumb girl?" Better confirm all their assumptions by lying and purposefully answering questions wrong. But she makes sure to then complain about them looking down on her.

Basically the author got too ambitious and genuinely doesn't know how people work, but forced the story into a place where human interaction is literally the only thing that can happen. There was a glimmer of hope for the "advancing science" type of plot but that was discarded almost immediately in favor of a generic "damsel in a tower" plot, which makes no sense because as stated by the MC repeatedly, NO ONE IN THIS WORD GIVES A FLYING f**k ABOUT WOMEN. <<less

This MC doesn't make any sense. She goes from biblical levels of sloth to total Mary Sue in less than a chapter, then just runs away. Basically the author made the MC so lazy that she was unlikable, made her a Mary Sue for a bit to try to make her seem better, then did they only thing they could think of to pull the plug on any potential plot. Just pick a lane, and stay there.
