This has to be one of the most frustrating novels i've ever read. The first few chapters are good, even great for the type of foundation they could have laid. But by the 90th chapter (where I literally threw my hands up in disgust and gave up), you begin to enjoy the MC getting in trouble because he's such a moron he deserves it. The whole novel feels like a number of short stories disjointedly thrown together. With the story/author pointlessly flip flopping on things and gives you incorrect information,... more>> redacting, or changing them the next chapter without any mention of the things he's said before. Unless you want to be frustrated by a poorly written story and be angry for no reason at what this could have been, do not read this novel. <<less

Rise of the Wasteland

If I was to write a novel like the Author did, but reverse the transmigration from the US to China i'd imply that they can't drive, buys fakes of everything, are all liars and cheats, are communist morons without an original thought between the billion of them, pollute everything, stab each other with cleavers all the time, work people and children to death for little to no pay, etc.

None of these things are true of the majority of Chinese people or their society, they are tropes and stereotypes with an... more>> uncharitable view of a complex human society, where sometimes awful things happen. Just like anywhere else.

This author, though I loathe to call the word vomit he's spilled onto these pages a book, has taken the worst aspects of human society, and magnified them and decided they represent the majority of American, European, and African culture.

Do not read this novel, the brief moments of entertainment are not worth the disgrace and disappointment with which the author interprets other cultures and humanity in general, including his MC.

This novel is disgrace to humanity and I wish it could burn it from everyone's collect mind space. It's that bad. <<less

When A Mage Revolts

This novel is horrendous. A disjointed attempt to merge comedy via a either poorly written or poorly translated AI system with a serious transmigration. What should be an interesting premise is wrecked by incredibly poor execution. As Qidan appears to be curating any review below 3 stars on their website, 1 star is given to counteract that BS.

Premise of the novel is fantastic. Characters are absolutely awful. Can't get past how dumb and pathetic the main character is and if it's possible, the supporting characters, that are not NPC's, are even worse. Specifically what I assume to be the female lead is just as rotten as the MC and not in a shifty, roguish/fum way, like say Weed. More of a "You are a terrible human being and my life is wasted reading about you, what even is this" sort of way. Was really hoping for a... more>> good RPG element novel. To be fair, that portion is good. Everything else is a disjointed garbage fire. Dropped at chapter 43. <<less

The Lord’s Empire

There's not much of a story here. It's like the author starts a free-write for every chapter. He can't seem to decide if he want's a transmigration novel or a VR novel and oscillates between the two.

Overall, it's another fast food novel. If you are in the mood for pointless levels/growth, you may enjoy it for a day or two.

You'll probably stop due to one of the below:

-Poorly, or even no explanation, for how stats/cultivation/equipment/legacies/etc work. It's like the author decided to throw together every hodgepodge of popular lite novels... more>> at the time and see if it would stick.

-Knowledge that springs from nowhere and has no source (This is perhaps just incredibly poorly worded/written by the author, but the MC has numerous cases where he starts in the first person and then begins just rattling off completely new concepts/stats he has no information source i.e. No user interface, no special beings, not introduction)

-The blatant and creepy Chinese nationalism that seems to infect so many novels also rears it's head here.

-Flipping of character personalities/interests on a dime. This links to the start of the review. It's fairly common for a character to flip a switch and is now completely different, or something the author spent a chapter trying to highlight is suddenly throw out the window.

I'd say 2-3 stars at the moment.

Changed to 1 star as as read further, novel is dropped. <<less

Skimmed the first 5 chapters of I'm so edgy and badass. Continued skimming the rest, because that's all this novel warrants.

MC has no apptitiude in anything, so no power system exists just the MC being "resourceful" and somehow coming up on top against superhumans? MC is just average intelligence, he's just been written into a world full of fools. This is better executed elsewhere, but if it's your first type of novel like this you'll probably enjoy it at a 3/5. If you've read novels with actual cleverness pushed against... more>> proper villians, this will bore you and I would recommend passing on it. <<less
