The beginning has a certain nonsensical portion to it regarding the MC’s awareness of the world, and he seems far, far too accepting of the initial reason he’s cast into the world. My friend pointed this out to me, as to why he dropped the story. And while I agree, it's not that far-fetched that you’d simply accept the world around you because you’ve known nothing else... If you get through this part, you'll find a gem of a story.

Beyond that, the story is fantastic, the humor is great especially... more>> “Mr. Lyle best Lyle” being one of my favorite jokes of all time, more laughs than I can count.

This story also (around chapter 90ish) gives one very, very good reason for a harem to even exist!

All in All, It's a good read, great plot, and an amazing final boss that puts most Demon Lords to shame in just how scary they can really be, and just why the MC would oppose them. Not just for pride and glory, or the country, or the family name, or for personal reasons, but for all the above. Recommend to anyone with a penchant for magic, swords, politics (mild), and harems (low).

TL;DR - Great, if you like 'builder/management/politics' you'll definitely want to read this one.

Good world building, decent philosophical/faith war (witch persecution), deeper backstories referenced (church's plot &

Spoiler

devil/demon hints of secrets i.e. hacala's mistaken idea on ancient text, & size of kingdom vs. wider world - (the map by picture witch & flying witch)

[collapse]

Not a harem fiction, though there is romance hinted at during the story regularly.
Spoiler

until later, one requited love, one unrequited love shown so far. The question of "would you marry a witch" answer. The inclusion of fertility as an issue is really unneeded in the story as well...

it's not overdone and doesn't supercede the main plot points.

complaint- MC has a broken amount of knowledge that he really shouldn't/couldn't have despite the premise of story.
Spoiler

During the story at least one person hints at "how could he know all these things", from their perspective he's just inventing or all-knowing, though he does blame it on the alchemist workshop saying it's their invention. However... this guy knows way way way more than he rightfully should even as a modern person, in both ancient developments of technology, not just their premise, but actually how to make them. To include a fairly advanced view of physics, biology, chemistry, mechanics, politics, aristocracy (noble version of politics). Granted most of the advancements are cheated by magic development to skip into industrial revolution items...

random thought - (totally guessing)
Spoiler

I say he is a witch (warlock) himself, by way of possession.. though they say multiple times he's possibly influenced by the devil (multiple sources, including his minister), which is a bit funny since he possesses the former body of the prince. The only problem with this is that the one witch that can see magical powers in others directly never says anything about him having powers, so.. damn.. at least his sister realizes, without even meeting him that he's not the real prince.

With the constant reminder of fertility coming up, I have to imagine that's either just a very poor 'heartstring' attempt by author or something else for deus ex to fix later. OR!!! he's a warlock (witch) himself, but that's probably me trying to make him OP, and make sense of his current OP-knowledge, while also shipping him and the fire witch haha.

One of the better “wake up in game world” stories. I like how the author tosses in differences that could be both “first to find”, or because it’s an actual world, and no longer a game. Interesting way to world build, but so far they are doing a great job. Tons of cliffhangers though... (love ’em hate ’em, but they always win..). (written after reading from 0-33 chapter translation)

Absolute Choice

tl;dr Full of Filler/word padding is extreme. Rate 2-3

I liked NouCome, but this tries to be interesting/funny like that, but doesn't quite make it. It tries to make Chuuni funny, but falls short (love, chuuni&other). However, like Re:Zero save points when he fails his 'choice' its decently good.

The story is actually kind of annoying, but well put together for the first idk 100 chapters. But the MCs overblown 8th grade syndrome, which is supposed to be funny as a joke, falls very very flat in my opinion. It causes... more>> the story just to be hard to read. Some of the subplots, are just confusing, and poorly thought out. Once they are in the tower, its just silly. The only over-arching subplot, was Divine Coin to "railgun" ripoff, that took like 250+ chapters to finally appear (bravo holding onto a deus ex there) but the rest... ugh.

The mischief absolute choices, just make me gag as a trope, its forced very badly, and its ridiculous. I read up to current 502. Despite its flaws, I couldnt find anything worthwhile to read at the time while waiting for updates on something better..

So, definitely a hodge-podge rip on animes (Love, Chuuni & Other, NouCome (obviously), Re:Zero-ish, references Toaru Kagaku no Railgun, One Punch etc., amongst others I saw (and subsequently have forgotten). Its like a very odd fanfiction, that got popular, and now is full of word padding and filler. If you find yourself bored, just stop, it doesn't really start getting better at all. <<less

Good story, nice for a different perspective (she's totally not an assassin though, just sayin, most authors F*** up the character development out of prologue into his bada** version, but in this one, tbh, she really never was)

The random swap of her character from bada**, to naïve in love... along with the supposedly cold bada** male MC being the same way. Which makes for a little bit of fun. It really doesn’t match her initial description though. Despite that, I have to say this is a pretty great story,... more>> tons of deus ex, but I expect that in most stories. It stands by itself as a cultivator story, with most of the initial enemies being bit**y women (haha) instead of men. Nice to see that the Green-Eyed monster isn’t always male, and that women mark their territory as well, and will kill you for the D! (pft hahahah, I’m done.) <<less

Good dungeon story, enjoyable and well-written fight scenes. -1 star for another really boring harem, filled with tons of nonsense (It's a realllllly boring harem in general, only reason its not -2 is some decent comedy, but most of it is bad.).

It is a extremely cute story so far, however it is a proper adventure story just from the point of view of a baby dragon. As of c27 the dragons not even a year old yet (she's a runt as well, pet sized). There does seem to be a decent plot hiding in the background. The characters, even new ones are all well done, without wasting any of time on side characters (retainers). Which leaves a decent amount of actual story telling each chapter, unlike alot of light novels.

I love it! No reason not to read it, its a non-standard xianxia, but well worth the read.

... But I got tough bones!
Once you get to the point where he has this sort of mindset, the story pretty much rolls from there. Gotta admit, other than some odd world building size issues, the world building is great. And gets even more odd and confusing later on but just as awesome, though my imagination kinda has to work to make up for the author at times.

minor gripe... more>>

The only thing that really upsets me is the teaser love story that mixes in, I mean it doesn't make alot of sense. Don't see why she would ever leave his side for long if the circumstances were similar. They make a semi cute couple, but it's like he seems disinterested after the first initial meeting, almost like he's just pulling a big brother (but badly)... It's a little annoying to see a lost opportunity by the author. as the MC seems to almost lose his personality during the later interludes between them, and I think its because the author doesn't want to have him point to anyone in the not even a real/pseudo harem he's written in. complete with a not-quite trap from a rich family... boils down to a waste of story, or waste of time
