This story is amazing. It definitely should be up there with ISSTH / DE / CD / whatever.

The story seems to be a little aimless at points, but later on you find that it leads somewhere. All of the characters are built with personality, and the MC isn't the only person to acquire good fortune. The girls attraction/unattraction to the MC have valid reasons, and the characters you're meant to love you really identify with, while those meant to be hated make you really want to punch them. This story... more>> grabs your attention, emotion, and interest and just reels more and more of it in. You actually feel worried for the MC, and if you think about some of the unamiable characters that turn, you can find that they had a reason for what they did. Meanwhile, the characters that end up as enemies, you end up respecting for their conniving skills, but still hoping and hoping for the MC to kill them.

The story so far hasn't really gone into the premise at all (No idea what this "heaven fighting race" is yet), but its definitely interesting enough on its own. It also gives details that allow avid readers to envision the scenario, making the world seem right in front of you.

tl;dr: Story grabs emotions very well and you should read it. <<less

This story amazingly combines cultivation with video game stats. I really like the occasional references to plot devices, and the story uses many cliches in an interesting way. With good world development, amusing allusions, and a not-always-right MC, USAW comes together as an excellently entertaining read.

The novel is pretty good, with an atmosphere of mystery and suspense around every new revelation. It leaves a lot of plot points unsaid by starting with an abandoned kid's second chance, and readers begin to learn about the past through Qianye's interactions in the present. I like the nature of the world, where political realities greatly influence personal talent/capability, which is one of the gripes I've had with several other novels where powerful influences appreciate and recruit talent, but for some reason not the MC's talent.

One of my favorite... more>> parts of the story was this:
Spoiler

Song Zining is asked about his simulations of his battles vs Qianye, and he answers that his army would win the war of course, but then Qianye would bypass tis entire army and kill the general.

This statement so accurately and simply captures the essence of how I feel the situation is in MEN's world. Absolute powerhouses still reign supreme, but the lay of the land is determined by politics and low-level military. <<less

Warlock of the Magus World

It's very interesting to have a "bad guy" as an MC. While some people don't like that, this kind of story is in the minority and there's plenty of "good mc" books out there to read.

The story reinforces his (and the rest of the Magi's) cold-heartedness very often, enough that its just short of the border to TOO often. However, it can be seen that the MC isn't completely cold, but rather prioritizes selfishness, safety, and power over his relationships and debts. If it doesn't put him in danger /... more>> bankrupt him, he actually is willing to help out at the loss of a bit of time.

My issues with this story (and why I rated it 4s) include the prose and the AI chip.
Spoiler

In terms of writing, there is way too much repetition of "AI chip, begin scan/analysis/simulation." Additionally, the overabundance of exclamatory sentences in dialogue is a tiny bit uncomfortable. On the the A.I. Chip, a lot of its simulations shouldn't be things it can do. Generating a powerful spell based on a vast number of other spells? That's fine. Simulating the best way to win a battle? Kinda op but still logically viable (i wonder how fistfights between people with AI chips would go lol). But the times where it's simulating how to best advance or what the opponents' trump cards are (AI chip somehow knew Ceasar/Giant/Boy were one person) ? That makes no sense, the AI chip shouldn't have any reference to know what would happen if Leylin did this/that while trying to break through a bottleneck, especially with the story emphasizing how he doesn't have enough knowledge to figure it out due to Magi keeping those secrets under lock and key.

I’m Really a Superstar

The story is about a guy who world-hopped and now wants to become the world's greatest superstar. After world-hopping, however, he can now create a near-endless supply of popular content by plagiarizing from his past world (which is our world).

The story has amazing humor and extremely satisfying face-slapping, and has a completely different feel from the combat-oriented genres usually perused by translations readers.
