First chapters are difficult to read for many but they're absolutely crucial for the story. They explain a lot about the character, his way of thinking and how it all begins.

Some people complain that the MC is pretending to be smart or something of the kind. Wrong. He's not smart, and he knows it. Everything he knows and does is by knowing and understanding the rules, filtering it through his previous life experience. He's also fallible. There are a few critical moments when he would've failed if not for his... more>> friends.

It's also surprisingly similar to "Running away from the hero", though less absurd and a better written MC. <<less

Two Saints Wander off into a Different World

A fun duo. Unlike others where there's an MC and lots of secondary characters.

Another point I like is the food/drinks part. In most other Isekai, the MC is crazy about traditional dishes and rice, I mean, seriously? You travel into another world and your main concern is eating the same food as before?

People expect the strangest things from this novel.

The MC starts off by napping while summoned by a god. His first skill is one that makes him stronger while sleeping. That's it.

It's a leisure read. You either enjoy it or not.

The romance tag is misleading. There isn't any. Also, comedy? There isn't a single funny scene...

The MC is a psychopath.

The first 45 chapters are nothing but mental and verbal abuse from the family. No idea what kind of messed up person the author is if this is supposed to be funny or interesting.

The MC is a psychopath.

... more>> By his own words he was a useless and evil before traveling to the first world, 1000+ years of suffering didn't help. Returning home, he changes by becoming able to grow, yet he's still a piece of shit, treating the only people defending his family and world like crap.

Oh, yeah, here's the kicker, the situation worsens BECAUSE of him, yet he makes even more demands. <<less

Infinite Competitive Dungeon Society

The MC is a trained from an young age by his battle maniac father.

He gets strong and keeps at it by constantly fighting in the dungeon. As expected, it also means he's socially dead. By the time he reaches college, girls throw themselves at him yet he's so dense, he might as well have a visible event horizon.

Excellently written. Beautiful story and characters.

It's such a rare find that I'm reading only a few chapters per day so the feeling lasts longer.

It's a great and funny read. People complain about how the VRMMO side is depicted, but here it's merely a medium, the story is built around the characters not the game itself.

Edit: Why is the author (or translator) obsessed with pointing out the number of eyes everyone has? (So far they all have two, even the monsters)

A Monster Who Levels Up

I'd give it a 5, since it was good enough to push through all the chapters in three days, but there are a couple things that irritated me.

Spoiler

A good portion of the chapters is spent with the girls going crazy over the MC. Especially the "love interest" which for a very long time, until the last 10 chapters or so played the overly attached, stalker, jealous girlfriend (apparently some people around here consider that love, whatever).

[collapse]

The second thing that kind of blew the story for me...

Spoiler

... was the solution to the problems. Basically, he gets handed a diary that his future self provided, to use that to save the world. How does that even make sense?

For those whining about the ending... drop dead. You gave me some negative expectations and it turned out pretty damn nice. <<less

It's not bad, but it's not good either.

The MC is not the dungeon master, but the dungeon itself. The dungeon master has little personality, just a little above the automatons he produces.

It's a nice world building exercise.

The main character grows. And you can see the changes multiple times.

The start is kind of hard to swallow, seems kind of bitter and dark, but once he solves the debt problem, it becomes a lot lighter.

The story is interesting, the MC seems a cut above the average when compared to those in similar novels.

The best character is not the MC, it's Soo Ah. Without her, this would be incredibly boring.

It's imaginative and the universe is interesting, but those are the only positive points.

The story itself has no actual plot. There's no purpose. The MC got transferred, and knows a lot of things about how things will progress, but what is going to do with it? Become the king, kill everyone, look for a way home? Nobody knows!

The MC is a jerk focused on growing and gaining more tech and power, purely for the sake of becoming powerful? Even the lamest story out there as some reason.

Basically, the author fell... more>> in love with the idea of an sci-fi transmigration novel and wrote it with those two specific things in mind, ignoring everything else. <<less

Started off nicely, there are some issues with it, but what killed it for me is how demons are treated.

Spoiler

Turning a demon into a boiler using brainwashing... that's messed up on so many levels.

Funny and imaginative. There are a lot of situations, where the MCs innocent and pure actions get turned into something seen by others as evil and disturbing (eg.

when he took the body of an innocent dead girl to try to revive her, but found another use for it later.

).

It deserves 5 stars, but the author keeps making homophobic remarks for no apparent reason, simple one-liners that add little to the story and utterly ruin the mood.
