Not sure where all these people saying the love is one-sided. The mc's love certainly begins one-sided but a few chapters in and we are constantly being hinted on her growing affection to the MC. If you are sick of garbage harems and want to read a fantasy slice of life with an OP protag and light romance, I wholly recommend this to you.

Starts out promising. You are given clues on main characters progression as a person, only for it devolve so badly, horrendously into a self righteous piece of sh*t while "acting" like a badass (he seem to think so). There is little to no world building besides the things the author establishes so MC can be OP, everything else ends up feeling paradoxical. The characters are all shallow, they are nothing but tropes, and they are never elaborated into anything beyond that. The Narrative is just sad, please be a bit... more>> more original next time. And then there is the romance, it starts out stating some things about pure and devotion just to end up as a harem, a pretty poor harem at that and the only requirement to join the MC's harem is to have a crush on him. The writing quality is half decent and probably the only reason I read so long, but don't worry, later on it also somehow managed to devolve. I feel like I wasted quite a bit of time reading this shallow *fanfiction*. It mostly feels like the authors dream life put on paper, he wants to be a hero and get all the girls and that's about it.

All ratings are default at half value and depending on merits and demerits the scores are added or subtracted.

*sigh its kind of interesting. But when most characters are girls I can't help but loose interest. And the narration is quite weak. This is very similar to Campione so if you like that you will probably like this. For me its not up my alley.

I am not sure what to think right now. The relationships and kingdoms are alright. But, there are a lot of unanswered questions, and the author seems to just skip and suddenly all the relationships are progressed, the prince appoints the MC as adviser for no reason and so on. First mini-arc is focused on maiden and her dilemmas and the smooth talking MC makes it all better. The second mini-arc is the prince wants to overthrow the king to protect his sister, the sister:princess also hates the king, she... more>> became an enemy. But now due to their positions the prince and the princess are waging war against each other, and by the look of things the victor will be the prince and most probably the they will come to a compromise and clear everything and all will be well. But, I simply cannot stand that, they simply throwing away the lives of the soldiers because of their pettiness, the people besides the ones the author elaborates on hold no value. I simply cannot stand that, and because of that I hate the characters. And using people like fodder for character building is something I simply refuse to accept. Its a matter of principle. Also, I quite sick of 16 and 17 year old's everywhere (both females are around the same age and both are super OP apparently and super famous, and then there is one more minor female around the same age).

Also, if you want a novel that's well written, characters make logical sense, mature in its execution and people's lives are not fodder read: Rakuin no Monshou

Edit: I was a bit harsh, and the entirety of this review is my subjective feelings. Unless you are of similar mentality, go ahead and give it a try. So don't let my words discourage you, give it a read. You may like it more than I. <<less

I tried. Quite a while back I read this novel, it was ok. It felt bland, I didn't get any character or personality from the people, they felt shallow. I decided to give this series another chance again now due to comparisons to "Release that Witch" (from here on RtW) a novel which I think has been written quite well so far.

With renewed expectations I went in and once again I came out disappointed. There is a little too much glorification of the MC, and the author seems to be... more>> a little too into replacing decent people with harem members instead of people. In RtW, even with the abundance of female cast it doesn't feel like a harem and those people are elaborated and given space to show character, they are just much more likable than the single trait characters of this novel. Here the harem and female cast feels forced whereas in RtW they are a natural fit, here everyone is forced into a defining trait whereas in RtW the traits fit the person naturally and they are more than just that trait.

The world building is quite decent, I was able to get some form of mental image of the rough position of the nations. Not entirely sure where the narrative arc is going, its filled with short-term goals rather than anything long term. The writing style is honestly quite bland and boring to read, its not compelling.

I don't know, I tried to like it but its very jarring for me. In the end the best I can call this novel is mediocre, its painfully mediocre. It stays in a realm where it wants me to take it seriously but it can't take itself seriously. All ratings are default at half value and depending on merits and demerits the scores are added or subtracted.

It was quite a nice read. The lack of drama and slice of life is nice, the novel periodically skips time so it doesn't end up getting stale. My major complaint is the author doesn't know when to stop, even after the story gets over. Rather than letting us come up with our own ways of how they lived the rest of their lives he continues on for far too long (if the constant things that felt like author notes in the middle of the main chapters weren't enough) enforcing... more>> his ideas down on us. As I kept reading on with the so-called extras (amounting the same number as main chapters) my enjoyment dwindled. I wanted to rate this 3 stars or so, eventually I just stopped.

But, I did like the novel till the end (main end). Most of my problems came after the end. So, this novel gets a recommendation from me, but proceed after the end at your own peril. I advise you to stop when it ends and move on cause the novel had the appropriate ending, anything after was pointless and diminished the overall quality. <<less

This is a story of an inhuman psychopath. I root against him, I wish he dies a horrible death and all the aristocrats in his world too. Besides few aristocrats it seems commoners are treated like cattle, it's like they don't even exist not even to the author. It's a decent read, interesting. Not exceptionally well written or well realized, a lot of it is fodder and rubbish. The world itself is painfully lacking in grounding and functionality, the author seems to throw generic otherworld nonsense from a hundred other... more>> other world nonsense you read recently. I continued to read it because it was interesting, but 7 chapters is all I could take. At some point what is novel at first becomes stale. <<less

Quite liked this one. During the first few chapters I thought our MC was a pushover, but not only can he stand up for himself, he also shows remarkable sense and common sense. This means this particular Light Novel doesn't treat its reader with condescension.

You should read it for the dialogue and characters, not the story. I quite liked it just for that.
