Good, but drags on too much. Same amount of story telling could be done with just 100 chapters instead of 300. There is a lot of waste, but decent amount of good too.

A very formulaic novel.

  1. Situation happens. No apparent solution conveyed to the reader
  2. MC defies common sense (not in a dumb way), jumps into it anyway
  3. MC solves the problem and explains how he solved it by mentioning information that wasn't available to the reader
No spoiler example: MC encounters an undefeatable monster. He could skip it, but engages anyway. When he almost loses everything, he feeds the monster some mushrooms and it dies. He reveals that offscreen, he saw that the only weakness of the monster was a certain type of poison that... more>> was only found in a certain mushroom that he found in a previous floor.

When main plot starts to advance, it becomes obvious that the author didn't really plan anything out.

It is OK. If you can bear with the author constantly hiding information to make an a*spull later, could be a quite fun read. <<less

Initially, it is a cheaper version of Overlord without the interesting parts.

It feels way too formulaic. A lot of things feel forced.

Later on, once it starts shedding some of the Overlord formula, it becomes much more interesting. Feels more like a blend between Realist Hero and Overlord.

Most isekai novels try to drag it on as much as possible. That is not the case with this one. Story and characters are interesting. Progression is constant, it never drags on.

Near perfect for those that like op MC isekai novels.

Series have a complete official translation, that's why there are no fan translations besides first chapter.

Starts off strong. First volume is pretty good, second and third is OK. Rest is pretty meh.

"Soul Reader" is pretty much a gimmick after the first book. Description is misleading, as the author doesn't really try to expand/discover the possibilities of it.

Spoiler about this from series ending:

Spoiler

In the end, author considers soul reader as the completion of the first arc. But afaik there is no sequel to the series.

[collapse]

After the first novel, series quickly introduce the main gimmick. Whether you'll like the series or not is entirely dependent on whether you'll like this gimmick or not.

Spoiler explanation:

Spoiler

There are some special people that can alter fate by simply believing something. Their world view will influence the world itself. Stronger the belief, stronger the person.

Major Spoiler:

Spoiler

Characters big sister is one of those people, and her belief in his brother is what gives him his inhuman powers.

I thought this was more of a slice of life story that explored the possibilities of the soul reader concept. Unfortunately it wasn't. You can really just read the first 2-3 books and then read the prologue of the last volume. I'd recommend stopping after first volume though. <<less

Starts off extremely well. First 2 volumes is simply amazing. 3-4 is pretty good too. However, quality drops off from a cliff after that.

What starts off as a genre parody, becomes a bad and repetitive rom-com harem story. Uniqueness of the first volumes gets replaced with mediocrity.

Those who like rom-coms and harem stories probably would like the 5+ volumes. I don't.

I recommend 1-4 to everyone, rest can be skipped.

So far (c2) it doesn't seem to deserve the 2.2 points it got. I haven't read the raws, but if the description is accurate, it might end up going into an interesting direction.

Looking forward for more!

Starts off strong. Characters are interesting. Quality drops really low after a while, almost becomes a completely separate thing.

First part is 5/5. Must read.

Second part is 2/5 at a good day. Passable at best.
