This is essentially somewhat above average One Piece fanfiction with a main character who has powers based on Bleach (the MC unlocks the powers of different Zanpakuto's as he gets stronger and more skilled) . If you're looking for a high-quality novel like "I shall seal the heavens", that you can lose yourself in, then this really isn't for you. This is just something you can waste some time on when you are bored or while you wait for other novels to get updated.

The novel at most deserves 3-4... more>> stars because it's really just fanfiction and the translator isn't all that skilled. I only gave it 5 stars to counteract all of the 1 star reviews. <<less

Red Packet Server

I'm enjoying this novel so far. It's not exactly deep, but still nice for some casual reading. The reason I'm not giving it 5/5 is twofold:

  1. The MC can't stick to one woman and I'm not a fan of harem stories (though sadly nearly every xianxia type story seems to require the MC to get a harem). At c74 he already had reached 'lover' status with one woman, but he still insists on trying to get to that level with other girls.
  2. Some things just require too much suspension of disbelief. For example: in one chapter the MC saves someone who the doctors had already given up on with a medical pill he got from a red packet in the chat group, but nobody bothers to ask how the hell he managed to bring someone back from the brink of death that easily, as if that was a regular occurance.

History’s Number 1 Founder

I absolutely love this novel, since despite being a parody of various popular novels of the xuanhuan and xianxia genre, it also manges to be a solid story on its own.

My only real complaint is that the translation of this novel is currently dead, as the original translator dopped it near the end of 2016 and the guy who picked it up only released two chapters before also dropping it at the end of 2016.

Unless someone once again picks it up, I recommend not to read it, otherwise you'll only... more>> get depressed when you reach the last translated chapter. <<less

I tried to give this novel a chance, I really did, but I can't understand how this one is currently ranked #1 in the monthly rankings.

  • The MC is a huge as*hole without much of a personality or any morality, who doesn't really care about anyone except himself.
  • The side-characters are bland and barely developed, though even the MC isn't much better in that regard.
  • The author doesn't do much in the way of world building.
  • The MC uses his A.I. Chip for nearly everything, so you really can't tell that he's supposedly an intelligent scientist.
The only reason I'm not giving the novel 1/5 is that these things aren't the translators fault.

Library of Heaven’s Path

A very fun story so far. The story seems to have a lot of humor so far and the MC is very relatable, which to me is one of the most important things when I look for a novel to read.

I'm also a huge fan of having a MC who's actually a teacher, rather than a student.

When I first started reading I immediately fell in love with the novel in the first chapter, when after the MC (who was a librarian in his past life) had just finished bullsh*tting a... more>> girl to get her to become his student, he found out that his "gift pack for transcenders" is a library, which causes him to complain that he didn't get some OP weapon or a a ring with some old grandfather in it instead. He only ends up getting even angrier when he realizes that he can't actually pick up any of the books, which I thought was hilarious.

Of course he calms down when he realizes that the library will automatically compile a book on the faults and weaknesses of any object he touches and any person he sees performing some kind of martial arts technique.

He also later realizes that as long as he reads enough books on cultivation and combat techniques, he can use the Library of Heavens Path to compare the faults of the techniques and create martial arts with less (or even without) any faults through trial and error, which greatly helps him not only with his own cultivation but also with teaching his students.

Not to mention that he can also make money by using the library to check which objects sold on markets are actual treasures and which ones are fake.

I simply cannot recommend this novel enough if you're tired of the same old xianxia/xuanhuan novels that just seem to blur together and you want a series with a pretty fresh concept and a good amount of humor.

The only other xianxia/xuanhuan novel I can think of that has the MC as a teacher is "History's No. 1 Founder", which is no longer being translated atm. <<less

I’m Really a Superstar

I love this novel so far. Sure, the MC Zhang Ye is an extreme nationalist (sometimes bordering on racist), but he is also rather relatable. He is rather average looking, not very rich, he isn't some kind of genius (at least at the beginning of the novel) and like Zhang Ye nearly everyone has wanted to be famous at some point of their lives and like him most people would also choose to plagiarize the works of famous authors, directors, musicians etc. That don't exist in the new world if... more>> they found themselves in the same situation as Zhang Ye.

Sure sometime you have to suspend your disbelief, since it's rather hard to believe that peopble are really going to be as exited for poems as they are in this novel, but a certain level of suspension of disbelief is required for nearly all webnovels (Chinese or otherwise).

I also greatly enjoy the fact that IRAS is introducing me to various popular Chinese novels, poems, songs, etc. That I would've likely never known about if not for IRAS.

At this point I also have to praise the translators, who do their best to keep up a high translation speed and quality, despite how hard it can be to translate chinese poems and songs without completely losing their message and flow.

Sure sometimes a few grammatical and spelling errors sneak in, though I think that can be forgiven, since it happens to nearly all translators, even professional ones.

Overall I have to give the novel a 5/5, as it's one of the few Chinese webnovels that always have me looking forward to the next chapter. <<less
