For someone who has supposedly been through multiple life and death battles and is supposed to be ruthless, he has a habit of always letting the actually meaningful enemies go when he has ample opportunity to kill them while only being ruthless against nameless mooks.

When it happens so many times in succession, it starts getting very annoying since the author can't seem to make up his mind and says the character is one way when he always does the opposite but don't worry blatant plot armour will always save the... more>> day. <<less

Ok. So editing my old review after browsing the forums a bit.

The world seems interesting and I like the cultivation nuances

The characters can be quite annoying and the bipolar main character is the reason I dropped this novel

In the beginning I loved the concept and how it gave me a highschool of the dead vibe, however, it just seemed to go downhill from there and I finally got bored of waiting for the MC to wake up from plot while the author used that opportunity to power-level the rest of the crew instead of doing both concurrently.

I tried to like this story. I honestly did. However when the story reads like watching the author play an mmo, I just lost patience with it as a whole. The MC takes a quest that seems really interesting then decided to do 100 unrelated sidequests before getting to the part of the story you're interested in and this happens multiple times it just gets tiring. Even sidequests get pushed aside in favour of other sidequests.
