So I actually read only the prologue and a bit of the first arc of this before I looked for the original and just read the ending chapters because I was curious about how the in*estuous main relationship would end up, and it actually... wasn't bad? I was actually pleasantly surprised by how Pretty Good it was, actually.

Ends in a bad ending. Yup. It's a bit like Heroic Death System in that there's a "happy ending" later, but they're only one chapter in the epilogue. Some of them are reincarnation, and some of them are post-arc ending HEs. I took a peek at them but didn't read them in any depth, since... I didn't read the arcs themselves lmao.

As for the final ending (the relationship with the MC and his brother), it takes up the last few chapters...

The MC returns to his original world after it all ends and regains his ability to feel romantic love. But! (And here's what I actually liked.) He finds he's no longer in love with the ML, while the ML has been obsessively looking for him since he "died" all those years ago (since his corpse disappeared from the mausoleum). When the ML finds him, MC refuses to have a relationship with him, and while the ML brings him back to the palace, the ML doesn't actually force him into anything (from what I remember, it's been a hot minute) and even eventually lets him go once the realization hits that the MC is truly unhappy and won't change his mind.

The ML then gives up his throne (what he sacrificed his brother for in the first place) since he realized that love is more important than power and goes to find MC, deciding to stay by MC's side even if MC never forgives him or loves him again. MC allows this, and the story ends in this open-ended way.

So, yeah, actually a pretty good ending in my opinion! It's actually a pretty neat book-end. It doesn't make me want to read any of the actual arcs (and since I skipped them without missing a single thing in these chapters, it made them seem more like filler than anything lmao), but props for having a good ending in a QT, I guess? Especially one that has a relatively decent message.

Not going to rate or anything since I skipped like 90% of this novel, but for those who were curious about how it ends... Well, here you go. <<less

I like the synopsis so much that I end up reading the raw version. It is actually pretty easy to MTL

I read until the end of the 1at and 2nd arc, and I am quite shocked that it end up in tragedy
1st arc

ML forget about MC after MC give him a drug from the system. ML end up remember MC in his wedding day, so he hurriedly go to MC's house. ML finally understand MC intentions, and can't accept it. So, ML choose to die with MC. Double su*cide in MC's house. He forced kiss MC in the middle of his burned house. So tragic and romantic. I like this kind of ending XD

2nd arc took place in the modern era

It has a tragic ending too. MC tried to jump from 2nd floor, and ML accompany him. MC died immediately. When ML look at his lover cold body, he attached a ring in his hand, and holding his hand. He tried to fulfill his promise to never separate from him, even in death

I like how each arc end in tragedy just like How to Die as Heavy as Mount Tie & Heroic Death System

I hope the 3rd arc that took place in cultivation world will be as tragically romantic as the 1st and 2nd arc

Finally, someone pick this story up. I quite like this one. I won't write a review about plot, characters, or another. People have their own view about something. For me, this story is good, and that's enough about my review here 👍

I'm glad Xiao Mushroom picked this story up because I'm really enjoying it. The MC's painful beginning gives insight to his motivations, which is a pleasant change from some of the more nonsensical characters in the BL genre. The later power struggle between the MC and ML is both fascinating and hilarious. I'm especially enjoying that (so far) the MC is intelligent but not too OP.

I only read one chapter because that's all I needed to know about this novel to not read more.

ML does not deserve MC. MC is s*upid and not calculating. Also in*est is a little... Much for me, especially the fact that they have a weird relationship already...

I don't like it when ML is abusive towards MC. That's.. Just a no from me.

Why the shou is always soo weak and not succesful while the gong has power and money and is briliant and hardworking with a strong body and personality while the shou is praised for his delicatness and obedience im soo annoyed with this kind of novels, at least give me one shou who is a brilliant ceo who is not defeated by the gong or doesnt depend on him or is a true strong emperor not those puppet emperors with no power, in the first arc I was soo angry... more>> that the MC was okay to die for the ML to get the throne and didnt fight for his own rights, or when he acted all gentle ro that brat prince who lorded over him and has to help him get the throne too <<less

I like the opening of the story, It actually have a deep and detailed background that leads to the Mc's world traveling. Not only his and the Ml's situation clearly explained it also evokes this bittersweet feelings inside me.

I really look forward to the rest of the translation. Kudos to the translator, hoping that it won't be drop.

it’s not clear if it’s revealed that HZ is the ML in all the worlds, or at least he doesn’t seem to be consciously aware of it nor does he discuss it with HL

but it could be that it was lost in translation somehow. I still don’t really like the original ML HZ, who is a scum (not a spoiler because of the synopsis), but oh well. Still worth reading. I liked the Ao Li arc the best. <<less

So far, the MC seems OOC which annoys me a lot. When he transmigrated in the body, the ML (or who I'm assuming is the ML) could tell straight away that his behaviour was different. I really don't like it.

The pacing and plot so far has also been very boring. Maybe it's just because I haven't read very far.

I've read a couple of spoilers which initially interested me. It's too bad that the start of the novel is tiresome to read.

Like emiliers, I only read the prologue, bits and pieces of arcs 1-3 and the last one, and the extras+epilogue. That probably doesn't say good things about this, but it's honestly not that bad.

The writing is good, it's just that none of the arc plots were really to my taste. This qt is essentially "a collection of BEs", but I can't get invested enough in most of the MLs to be really impacted by the ending. The start of each arc is usually interesting, but as it progresses I start... more>> to lose interest and by the end it feels too rushed. The extras are a hit or miss- some are satisfying, some feel like a clumsy fix-it fic, some are just disappointing.

The ending though, is actually very good and makes me wish this was just an imperial wife-chasing rebirth story. HZ seems too OOC (which could've been fixed by giving us ocassional glimpes at his POV between arcs), but I admit it's satisfying seeing him so distressed and HL refusing to give in. I do really wish they get together after though, since HZ is a scum gong who actually fully committed himself to proving his sincerity. He may have slipped up some times, but by the end he repented, and he was so pitiful that I cried. (I'm also sick though so I may just be overly emotional.) <<less

The first couple of chapters made me cry at the angst of unrequited love and I even cried for the as*hole when he had a tantrum after ascending, even though I hate him, I felt his raw emotions. So just from those chapters I'd give this 5/5 but let's wait and see. For now, this has 9 chapters so I won't be rating it until the plot progresses more. I wonder how their past lives are going to impact their new one and I wonder if we'll see more of... more>> the emperor's past life until his death.

Also, I hope this isn't dropped or that someone else picks it up if it is because it definitely has potential <<less

I read up until the end of the 1st arc. The first arc was so sad and angsty but still so romantic 😭

I wanted to read the other arcs as well since the story was pretty good, I just couldn't stand the translation and decided to drop it after that. It was such a good premise, I don't mind picking it back up after it has been translated by someone else.

Someone please translate it fully!

I quite liked this MC, he was so sombre and appropriately cautious but mild with a hint of headstrong personality, like a glass of cold ripasso enjoyed in a quiet afternoon.

The BE of each arcs are also synonimous with the theme and personality of our MC, too bad about the title, tho... It could've been better.

Pretty standard world hopping story with possessive ML and MC that carry all the burden in the world. If you like one story like this, you will like all.
