Started interesting but is got more disappointing as things went on. - He's a skeleton but spends half the time pe*verting over the heroine? Like what?
- He's a skeleton but still ends and sleeps
- He's a skeleton but when he reveals himself most people are pretty okay with it?

What's the point in making the main character a skeleton if it's basically the same as not being a skeleton?

Starts out somewhat interesting but quickly declines in quality and loses my interest fast. The MC can't seem to make up his mind about how he wants to act, his morals seem pretty flexible and only turn charitable in when it concerns women.

Overall, the story seems to lack direction and what should be the central story feels like a continuous side plot. Also, explanations are scarce.

It was interesting at first but rapidly deteriorated. The MC is a clueless brainless dud. He has no thoughts or action of his own. He is like a robot just following the order of his harem master. He's ordered to kill that, carry that, go do this mission, transport these people, you get the idea. Don't waste your time reading such mindless nonsense you got better things to do.

Synopsis: See above.

Features: OP MC seems to be maxed w/o leveling, skills/magic combat, magic beasts, demi-humans, factional politics/scheming, fantasy world, RPG transmigration, semi-adventuring. No romance/flirting so far, no nation building, no large scale combat.

Translation: 5/5
[[5/5 = Minor spelling and grammar errors. 4/5 = occasional serious grammar errors, may need to reread sentences, but no loss of meaning. 3/5 = common serious grammar errors, some loss of meaning, but no loss of overall story. 2/5 = difficult to read, difficulty understanding parts of scenes. 1/5 entire scenes unreadable.]]

Recommendation: 3-3.5/5
Some... more>> aspects of the writing and story are good, but then at the same time may not interest some readers. It's got a good setting and beginning. Typical transported to fantasy RPG game-world story. There's plenty of action. It's straightforward and doesn't beat around the bush too much. The problem is the scope of the story and the MC's role. The last sentence of the synopsis tells you everything: "The protagonist wanted to live without drawing attention, but he got acquainted with the dark elf Ariana and received her request." The MC has no major goals, making the story a bit pointless. The few that he has, they are like afterthoughts. He doesn't really even pursue them, he just works on them if opportunities happen to come along. He is like a sidekick to his companion, Ariana. Without her, he would just wander around, occasionally doing minor adventuring tasks or intervening in random incidents forever. With her, he participates in someone else's larger story. It feels like slice of minor adventuring life. Mostly small events that add up to affect larger players. Not very exciting.

This is a major problem, and would make the rating as 3/5 stars, as I feel half of the readers would be OK with it, and half would quickly lose interest. However, I think the writing is good enough that some of those who wouldn't enjoy this series so much would feel it wasn't a waste of time, so maybe the rating would bump up to 3.5 for some readers.

Another less serious issue is that the word "skeleton" is in the title. However, it's not that big of a deal in the story. As suggested in the synopsis, and explained right away in chapter 1, the MC bought this skeleton skin that goes over his player character. All it does it makes it inconvenient for his body to be seen by others. There's no underlying mystery. It doesn't affect his role in the story. What MC does about this is one of his main but halfhearted goals/considerations.

This story, and half of these transported to RPG world stories, also suffers from the lack of MC's pre-story life/personality. Nothing is said about MC before the transportation, and his previous life plays no role in how he behaves or deals with challenges. What is the point of making this a transportation genre if what happened before the transportation is never addressed, other than being a plot device to explain why MC is so OP or a fish out of water? [[5 star = most readers will enjoy, the rest will probably not think it a waste of time. 4 star = majority of readers will enjoy, but the rest will be hit or miss whether they thought it was worth their time. 3 star = hit or miss on whether a reader will enjoy, hit or miss for whether anyone thought was worth their time. 2 star = a niche audience might enjoy, the rest will probably find it not worth the time. 1 star = even the niche audience may not enjoy.]] <<less

It was interesting at first but lacks a proper flow on the story and will not keep you interested long enough to care.

The main character's behavior is also not clear, he is either aloof or empathetic... only for women. He does not have much of a goal, all that happens is just coincidence, because he is there.

I also don't understand his fixation of food, he feels no hunger and yet he wants to eat? What happens to the food that he eats? He can taste flavors without a tongue, talk... more>> about contradiction. I bet he can also have some libido because it seems his desire for women is there.

It isn't that bad but you will question the author's decision on some points. <<less

I don't know if it's just the novel, or if the translation also plays a role, but I read up to chapter 12 and I'm really bored.

Not only is the main character over powered, nothing he has is interesting, the world feels bland and so do the characters.

Up to chapter 12, the whole "I'm a skeleton in knight armour" is not exploited at all (he can eat when he wants and he keeps his armour at all time, and that's about it. The animals seems to somewhat fear him, but... more>> not to the point they are plainly running away, so it doesn't seem to be an effect of being undead, but rather having high tier equipment.

The translation is definitely decent, I didn't cringe too much on basic mistakes ("main rode" instead of "main road" made me smile a bit), it reads easily too.

I tried to read the latest chapters just to see if the style changed at all, but it didn't seem to, so I'm stopped reading it.

If what you want is just "generic withdrawn personality main character with OP power", it might be for you, if you wanted a story around a skeleton knight, Overlord covers the "OP" side but with better character and world building, and "is it reincarnation if I'm still dead" tries to tackle what it means to be a skeleton trying to live among the living.

It's not atrocious, but the overall feeling this gives me is "bland", sadly. <<less

Not good enough. It doesn't seem to know what it wants to do and keeps meandering.

The story's best aspect would have to be the storytelling. The writer is really good in immersing you in the story's world, character and events. The elements are well balanced to give you that immersive experience.

The setting is another of the story's strong point. There are magic, magical creatures, various settlements, etc.. There are a lot of fantastical elements and the story is quite successful in letting you experience it. We travel from place to... more>> place and get close to with the fantastical world.

Still it has major flaws that really dims your enjoyment. One thing that you would notice after reading further in is that it has a serious case of sagging-middle syndrome. Sagging middle is the condition where the middle part of the story lost its way and doesn't carry the momentum of the beginning part. A common symptom is when the story wanders around and doesn't seem to know where it would go. Events happens with little relationship from each other. At worst, the story becomes episodic. The only thing that connects the events together are the characters.

Another issue I have is the story often inserts humor to the detriment of the story. A huge part of a chapter or a whole chapter would be devoted to slapstick and comedic situations. That is alright I guess, but I'm not really into that kind of humor. I don't really find them that funny.

There is also the rather lackluster characters. They are not that flat or boring. It just that, there could have been more. They could have been more complex, more varied, more substantial. So far they are okay. Not great, not good; just okay.

It could have been done better. You can't help but wish for it to have something more. Some more character depth, more action scenes, more coherence, etc.. Doesn't contain much of anything to be a satisfying read. <<less

Firstly the MC isn't omnipotent, he has lots of limitations and his decisions take those into account. E.g he can't change his appearance so he has to avoid attracting attention otherwise he can't travel freely. All his destructive abilities are flashy and attract attention so he can't use them in public. He has difficulty gathering intelligence so he has to rely on other people, etc. It is interesting to see him work around those and other limitations. The translation kind of sucks - a lot of the time you don't... more>> know who is doing the action since often the pronoun and verb positions are in confusing places so you kind of have to guess what's happening from the context. It's hard to tell who is saying what, since the speech are not attributed to anybody so you have to just guess again - sometimes one person says 2 lines whereas you would expect the second line to be another person's reply to the first line. The author seems to have taken some care in constructing the world so that a lot of the really obvious "why didn't MC just do that" questions don't pop up. For example, why doesn't MC just teleport everywhere all the time if teleport is instant and costs almost no mana and has a 1 sec cooldown. Why doesn't he just use resurrection magic all the time if he can resurrect 30 people at once without running out of mana. These kinds of questions are addressed in the story. Characters are kind of generic but at least their actions make sense and are in line with their goals and personalities. As others have mentioned the MC feels kind of passive in a way that most of his actions are directed by random external encounters (he sees someone being attacked, so goes out to save them, then they ask him for help etc). On the other hand he does plenty of solo exploring when not on quests and all his decisions are based on his own risk-benefit assessments which are also explained in the novel. So yes the story so far is not amazing, the setting and characters are kind of generic but at least it's internally consistent. I'll wait to see how the character relationships develop before passing further judgment.

EDIT:

The v2 epilogue is entirely about court politics and the MC doesn't make an appearance at all, a lot of it is written from the emperor's perspective and just him talking with his ministers about some border events. It suddenly got really boring. Dropped. <<less

An alternative to overlord. You have the main protagonist as a OP skeleton, has similar emotional stabilizing trait. And what I loved so far is there’s no FORCED romance/harem to the protagonist. But I still can’t wait till I get introduced to new companions and the interaction between them

This is exactly the same scenario as Overlord. Instead of transporting with overlord's entirety of NPCs and guild building, he is transported by himself. This will provide a fresher approach since there'll be no limitations on where the main protag is going... more>> to explore! Btw he definitely has more humane characteristic compare to Ainz-sama~ <<less

A very good read but the translation is a bit shaky. Having a none edgelord MC is a plus for me but his lack of ambition is not. The MC is very strong but not OP. The decision maker is usually heroine, which make me a little dissapoint (this is your story man!), until this recent volume.

The world construction are very well made which each region, species, and view from different hierarchy are well explained. No simple "ah! this world hate beast.", where each region and continent have their own... more>> culture and view despite it was close by.

The fighting scene is actual quiet "meh" or simple but still exciting and comedic.

The character growth is very little and relationship between main characters is simple. No harem for MC so far (only the dark elf sushi him) but many admires, like chiome who view him like her village founder, Marca though him as a kind hearted knight, Raki see him as a valuable customer and provider, and Dylan and Glenys view his as their son-in-law.

The best part of this is, the new thing that the MC see through his adventure in this fantasy like world. The sub character is more lively somehow... hmmm... feel like they are crucial character for the volume kind of feeling? they only last 1 or 2 chapter though.

Simply put, this book is about an adventure of skeleton knight exploring the new world he come into, with curing his skeleton body as a side side quest of him (not even important to him at all). A light heart book to read for those who want to fill their time with fantasy story. <<less

Warning: some light spoiler ahead.

So, after volume 2, I had really mixed feeling. On paper, the novel had a lot of promises. But there were too many red flags - things that might be forgivable after v1, but after v2 it's dubious. Thus, I read other people review and my fears were confirmed. Seems like a lot of people only truly realized this around vol 4 / vol 5, glad I found out early and I don't see why I should set myself up to disappointment.

Anyway, what's the problem? Arc,... more>> the protagonist, is not an active character of the story. Simple as that. He is a plot device. His greatest motivation in life is being a simp following the bouncing breasts of a dark elf. As well as doing random things sometimes because "He just felt like he had to do this, even if it go totally against all the goals he had said until now". I'm not even joking. Protagonist is Ariane so far, since whatever she does Arc will does like the good simp he is.

In vol 1 it still seemd like Arc might have some kind of personality but during vol 2 any hint of a character disappeared. The only opinion he expressed during the whole vol 2 was "oh yeah I want to take a bath".

Overall, he just does what everyone else tells him to do.

Of course, if it was all there was, then he could just find some motivation at some point. But that's not the only red flag. He is also severely lacking in the brain department. He is barely smart enough to realize he has weaknesses, but not smart enough to work towards solving them, which constantly gets him into trouble. Kinda incredible that a veteran player has no idea how to use his character to fight tbh. But fine, why not spend some time to devise some combat strategy? Instead of just rushing in and in middle of combat going like "oh yeah, I'm totally inexperienced. I should definitely start training or something..." then forgetting it right after and never doing anything anyway.

For someone so excited about being in a fantasy world, he also has a surprisingly lack of curiosity about this new world. He is never proactive, always only reactive. He never tries to learn about stuff, only get taught information as needed when other people talk about stuff he doesn't understand. He never try to investigate differences between the game and the new world, just sometimes thinking "oh yeah, I hope it is like in the game ahah". Actually, an apt comparison would be that he is the exact revers of Ainz from Overlord. Where Ainz almost desperately looked for information on everything, Arc wouldn't even bother looking up the name of the country he is in.

Things is, author doesn't seem to know what she wants to do. On the one hand, in vol 1, it seemed like she wanted a slice-of-life easy adventure in an isekai world, with a focus on adventuring. Mid-way though, she started adding a lot of political stuff to fill up the novel, especially in vol 2. But according to other review, later, this political aspect doesn't matter and doesn't build up to anything. Not surprising though. Arc is way too passive to do anything related to politics. To tell you how hesitant he is to be related to politics, he is the kind of self-proclaimed good guy who is hesitant about fighting against s*avery because it might cause him to fight against nobility, and only reason he ended up accepting is because bouncing breasts begged him to. Author also pulled the "ens*aved children" card to make sure Arc has "no choice" but to do something (because we all know ens*aved adult is ok but ens*aved children is not ok).

Grammar: 3/5
Story: 3/5
Writing: 4.5/5

Grammar is rather average, with quite a few instances of awkward wording/phrasing, and misspelling. The story is about average, fantasy setting using a transferred person. The writing is where this series is exceptional. The author makes good use of descriptors to paint a pretty and slightly tainted picture of his world. You get a real feel for what the environments are like as well as some rather neatly colored in characters. The interactions are interesting for the most part, and the exposé instances fill in... more>> quite a few gaps. I imagine that the author is really dedicated to pushing his world out there for other people to see. Still, there are a few problems as mentioned by a few other reviews. The story has no solid plot line (though I do not personally find any fault with it since it makes it feel more slice-of-life-ish in my opinion) with the main characters just getting dragged along by circumstances and his own whimsical nature. Most of the plot is progressed by the female leads, and the actual purpose of the MC is rather vague even up to this point in Volume 4. Still, the MC is really fleshed out, giving some rather human feeling decisions in moments where his greed gets the better of him (he does things for equally selfish and selfless reasons while trying to maintain an image of himself that hopefully would make him look better in the eyes of the female lead and their race as a whole). Unfortunately this series does suffer from episodic villains. Each villain aside from the Main Royal Villains are dealt with shortly after they are introduced.

Overall, I'm really enjoying this series as it brings a breath of much deserved quality storytelling to the light novel industry. I'll be keeping close tabs on this series until either the author of translation group gives up, or the quality takes a steep dive off a cliff into the abyss. <<less

This novel isn't going to blow you away with originality, but it does have an interesting twist in that the MC is a massive, intimidating skeleton in armor who is looking to turn his "cursed" body back to a human form. As of v3c11 its been a good read but the author seems to have a problem staying on track with the main plot as the MC and his companion stop to help other groups in the few towns that they pass. This wouldn't be a big issue if there... more>> were intense fights for Skelebro to take part and show off various skills in, but so far all 2 to 3 times this has occurred the fights have been quick and kinda bland, ultimately doing nothing to advance the plot or build characters in any significant way.

As for what this novel does right; it scratches the OP MC itch very well in some ways. I won't spoil anything but Skelebro has a wide variety of skills, ranging from crazy physical strength, to teleportation, and even revival magic. Some fun things happen in order to show off his skill set but he has yet to go all out and I am very much looking forward to that.

All that said, this is one of my favorites so far, up there with Tsuki ga Michibiku and Death Flags. I'm very excited to see where it goes from here on and I strongly recommend Skeleton Knight if you're a fan of "OP MC in another world" novels at all. <<less

This is similar to Overlord except the MC is much nicer/humane than Ainz. MC is also a much more carefree character since he is like a traveling adventurer without any underlings or anything, compared to Ainz who is like an undercover demon lord/god with land and leading an army. I'd say it's also slightly similar with The New Gate, something like reincarnate into game character hundreds of years into the future where there's no other players around and MC have OP magic, level, equips from game era compared to the... more>> current world.

He's not a badass MC like Ainz, imo more like a calmly flowing river that can't be stopped by whatever that world throws at him. MC doesn't hesitate to loot and sell sh*t for money. Yes, he's a skeleton but so what? Being a skeleton has nothing to do with anything, you're forgetting the fact that the body was a GAME CHARACTER. Meaning it could be whatever job and whatever race he wants and that he was a man just a short while ago. If you read that one particular chapter... well it might explain why his body is not really like an undead. So what if doesn't act like a skeleton? He's a man and let's face it, what man wouldn't have pe*verted thoughts for that sexy elf.

I like the art and illustrations. Characters are likable even if generic. I enjoy the story, it's certainly not boring to read. It's still kind of early, no real antagonists yet other than corrupt nobles. Corrupt royalties.. but what can anyone do against him honestly. Not really any real challenges for the OP MC atm, who's just doing as he pleases, raiding, looting, etc. There's probably going to be wars and sh*t which should be interesting.

What irks me is a few bits here and there. I don't know if it's intentional by the author as plot or something.

Spoiler

In the beginning, there's the cliche development of rescue the lady in a carriage from an ambush by bandits/assassins.

But then MC is like "But still, to think that the girl in the carriage was actually a noble. Although I had planed to not stand out too much, it appears that the plan is on the verge of collapsing."

What. The. f*ck. No sh*t she's a noble or someone important. What the f*ck did he think was gonna happen? She's riding on a carriage with guards/knights as escorts and there's even a maid.

[collapse]

Spoiler

At least he learned from that and didn't bother interacting with the princess after saving her from a similar ambush later on. But dang he can resurrect the dead what a cheat....

Started to lose interest completely. I think I will return sometime later when I have nothing else to read. Not only is there a big issue with interesting parts (or rather, the complete lack thereof), the MC has no motivation/goals or emotions to make him a nice character. He also has no real skills and just uses brawn all the time, he doesn't know how to utilize anything. He should have hundreds of different spells to solve situations, but he uses the same stuff all the time and it's just... more>> a few boring skills that aren't suited towards the situations he's in because other stuff would solve it more easily.

Spoiler

There's also glaring plot holes everywhere concerning his OP body and skills. A ground dragon should be possible to overpower easily with sheer dumb brawn for him, but he doesn't even dare to stand in its way. He doesn't have any sensory abilities despite all his max-level highest-tier classes (he has many peak level, peak tier classes like bishop and some wizard type job, summoner, paladin, heavenly knight and many more, he can supposedly use all their skills), he doesn't ever have any proper abilities that any game would have and keeps on using the same skill-set. Night vision should be a standard skill for many job classes and at least there should be some spells to do it, but he doesn't have it. Good senses would be a matter of course for stuff like rogues, assassins, ninjas and other things, even warriors should have great battle senses or at least they should be able to sense their surroundings properly, but he's completely ignorant of everything tha goes on and acts as if he's a normal human, he can't even sense mana despite having multiple peak-tier, peak-level classes that use spells, which should be impossible. It feels like the author wanted him to be OP but then he doesn't want him to be too OP despite already finishing the setting, but all of a sudden he gets to be really OP again and then he's so weak that he loses in swordsmanship against a skilled elf while seemingly going full power with his body, although it's obvious that he should lose in pure swordsmanship, he seemed to be using his body's powers and should be able to swing faster than she can move or react, but nah, the peak existence can't do something like that (lol).

Quite frankly, he's really a worthless and hopeless character, it doesn't even feel like he's a person at all. He has no balls whatsoever, he doesn't even try to test any of his spells when the first thing one should do is test it all out upon arrival, he just uses suddenly remembers abilities when he "needs them" and tests them out for the first time then. He doesn't try properly to increase his sword mastery or skill in various areas either, the only time it seemed he had a will to do so it was mentioned during one chapter and then we haven't seen him care about it anymore. He has no goals, he's just going with the flow and letting the girls decide every single thing while following them like a s*ave. I've rarely seen such a passive and utterly uninteresting MC. He has no real redeeming traits and might as well be that unnoticable boy A in the background that never voices his opinions properly and never tries, always taking whatever the world throws at him and not even frowning or thinking. The only, single thing he has going for him is dumb power, but even that is kinda worthless since he doesn't know how to use it properly and doesn't try anything out. Seriously, a MC without desires, personality traits, goals, motivation or anything else except for the very basic instinct of an animal that wants to be with pretty girls shouldn't even get to be called a MC, especially not since he doesn't even go through with that either because "his companion is staring at him coldly" whenever he tries to appreciate someone in a very slightly lecherous way, he essentially doesn't have the balls to do anything. Oh, I almost forgot, he does have "passion" for one more thing than being close to beautiful girls, but it's just another basic instinct/thing that most japanese MCs have and are usually too excessive. He loves food, despite being a skeleton. He'd do anything for a good meal, even if it means he'll have to travel over some sea by a boat and change his name/join the elf village to get some tomatoes. However, unlike many japanese novels that do it well, it's very uninteresting in this guy's case, he doesn't really cook himself and there's not any descriptions on it, he just simply loves food and it's there like a plot device to get him to do something, a convenient excuse for some of his actions and some cheap "comedy".

That he's a skeleton affects his emotions, so he has none (pretty much), he can't think properly or anything, although it's welcome that he has no qualms about killing people and doesn't react like the usual japanese protagonist that would keel over and die from guilt if he killed a rabbit, it just makes it worse if the author is using that as an excuse to write a character that really has nothing worth mentioning and is similar to a rock in everything he does, not reacting to anything. However, when he started drinking the curse-removal water to get his real body back a bit, he turned into even more of a pu*sy and he started to get a bit b*tchy instead. So, there wasn't really an improvement when he got his "emotions" back, maybe it even degraded him further. By the way, I still can't believe that he never even attempts to use the peak level curse removal spell of bishops on himself. He already confirmed that his low-level curse removal spells of priests can make a piece of his body return to normal for a short while, so clearly the bishop peak level one should be able to do so for a longer time and to his whole body, but he never dares to try. The excuse was something like "I'm scared of hurting myself since it also has an undead cleansing effect" but even if it would hurt him, he would obviously not die or get any huge damage. It's also quite unclear if it would even hurt him since he's pretty much not a real undead, he doesn't have the aura etc of an undead, he's not a "tainted" undead like they normally are, he's not even truly dead, it's more like a curse, he does have a real blood and flesh body after all.

Despite what other people says, this novel also has no other interesting girls/characters. Ponta the fluffy fox feels like an unnecssary addition because the author probably just wants a mascot character that is cute and fluffy. Sure, it's cute, but it's there just for looks, hell, maybe it's the only character in this novel that I quite like because it's cute. Ariana, the dark elf that follows, no, sorry for that misstatement, that CONTROLS the MC is a very boring character that is excessively annoying and acts kind of like a childhood friend in japanese stuff usually does, she makes him do stuff all the time and doesn't take a no for an answer and is excessively judging in everything he does and the MC just can't go against her at all. She's also aggressive, so she might as well be his childhood friend or something. Chiome is cute as a cat-eared ninja loli, but she's not interesting either, I don't feel any real personality from her or ariana. I never thought I could take a stance of not caring about a cat-eared and cat-tailed loli, but I was clearly wrong.

Really, this story is sorely lacking in flair, it's really dull and boring, it's not an adventure novel, it's more of a slice of life novel, but a bad one since nothing really intersting happens. The characters are all a mess, especially the MC... Sigh.

This author needs to learn how to write an interesting main character, at the very least give him some noticeable features and will of his own... Or rather, he should learn how to write characters with personality and events that pique some interest from the readers. Making such bland characters really makes me wonder what he's thinking, is it just that he lacks talent? Hmm... This is what ainz would be like if he had no grasp of his powers, no personality, no goals, no motivation, no brains, got bossed around by everyone and wasn't that OP. In other words, if he was a worthless piece of tr*sh that doesn't deserve anything he's got.

So, why am I rating it at 3/5 for average and not 2/5 for subpar? Well, quite simple really. Although it has so many glaring flaws, so many issues and really isn't a novel you'd want to read for a long time, it's a novel that's fairly easy to read and there's nothing really going on. Although anyone with a reasonable amount of novels read shouldn't be able to read this for that long, at most a volume or two at a time, it's still a novel that you can read as relaxation between some proper novels. Sure, it might be kinda bad, but at least it's not bad to the point where you'd drop it and never want to pick it up again where you left off. Read one or two volumes every time you finish reading another novel and you have a nice pause from the intense stuff. <<less

Woke up this morning, picked up my phone and checked what I had been reading last night... And dropped it when I realised I didn't care. Around the end of vol 2.

Our MC is transferred or reincarnates as his highly-levelled and decked out MMO character, except his skin for that character was a spooky skeleton, so he has to hide himself in his superarmor all the time. After a while he meets some elvish s*ave-rescuers and is pretty much recruited to elf-saving duty. Secondary strand of the plot is the... more>> imminent civil war between the three potential heirs of the kingdom.

Thing is, it's just boring. The MC really doesn't have much personality at all, a blank slate that just follows Ariana the Super Hot Dark Elf around like a puppy, a s*upidly OP puppy. <<less

Generic Japanese MC gets powers from a RPG game, meets up with a delusional Elf who despite being a white girl insists she's a dark Elf, talk about racial misappropriation, next she's probably going to on about how she has 50 percent resistance to fire magic. Oh yeah MC gets stuck with an Skeleton skin from the game but none of the bonuses or debuffs for being undead.

It was like overlord for a minute but the MC here is nicer and has a lot of explaining a lot type of story. I still love it

So I read this one hoping that it would try to distinguish itself from overlord. It did a good job on that.

Spoiler

the MC is a skelly with OP equipment who still possesses a modicum of humanity, though he is not adverse to killing much like Ainz. Ainz starts off relatively generous, but as you read on he becomes more and more ruthless to enemies against his guild. In this story, the skeleton knight just tries to help out whoever is in need of help since all he has is himself and not a guild.

It's not too dark, and its a relatively decent read. You do have to question the author's logic sometimes though. <<less
