Ok, I rate this Novel 3* (stars).

It should been 5* but it goes down pretty much.

-1* from Author nonsense Food enthusiasm (Almost dropped this Novel because of this Shit, and right now I am still considering it. Because this Culinary/Food things still happening and getting worse)

... more>> -1* From Contradicts Power/Attributes scales.

As other people already point up the good things and bad things about this novel, then I guess I will just adding my opinion in simple way.

This Novel has been quite enjoyable to read at early to early-middle stage (chapter 1 to 700 or 800 ?), atleast that what I feel.

Personally I dont really hate MC Personality/Characteristics, he has his own Unique characteristics and habit. But it doesn't mean that Author should Pushing or Forcing MC into something that really make the story become "ANNOYING".

For an Example, MC personality make him not to waste any edible food he have or what people gave him, which is good in my Opinion.

But it doesn't mean that Author should turn this Novel into Sukogeki No Shouma (Japanese Food Anime), I mean think about it, when you were reading DETECTIVE/ACTION Novel and suddenly it turn into FOOD/CULINARY Novel halfway.

for one or two times it might not that bad, but to spam it almost every Chapter posible? Can you imagine it?

Author even goes so far as deep as he can on Explaining the RESEP, TEXTURE, TASTE, EFFECTS on the Foods. It even Affecting people around MC.

Maybe there is a trend about food at that time in Chinese readers. But it doesn't mean Author should change it BASE/CORE Story to almost about Food.

###

Next it is about the Power or Attributes scale.

At early stages it still reasonable and make more sense about how MC raising his 5 Attributes.

But as MC entering the Transcendence level - Advanced High-Player Level. It totally become a nonsense power development.

You need to know, at first MC is beeing focus on Rounded-Build / Jack of all trades master of none style.

but later on, as his dungeon entry grow, he comes confronting enemy with high spirit Attributes. Which Divine-God beeing.

So he tried to Adapt and learn about "Choosen One" Players, then he switch into Spirit Attributes as his Focus.

Then it turn into Nonsensical scale. Be it Power up or Fight with Enemy. <<less

It was a good read at first, decent. But it started to go downhill badly around ch 300-400 or so.

Ever since he got two random ass mystical powers fused in his body (as much as I can say without spoiling) the game elements became pretty much irrelevant. All he ever needs to do after that is just use either of those god-tier powers and the stats and the skills of his opponents don't matter anymore. Reading this became like a chore. The story is no longer about the MC struggling... more>> with his own capabilities to complete dungeons. The story becomes all about "let's see how I can use this power without letting it consume me". There is no more suspense or anything. He just goes in to his *plot armour god-like strong transformation* and everything gets curbstomped.

When he got his 3rd mystical power, the novel got even worse than before, to the point where you could skip entire chapters without missing anything relevant.

*random supposedly super powerful enemy appears || *the MC uses any of his deux ex machina plot armor shits || *the enemy gets killed || over. I am very disappointed. I would give it 1 star but it wouldn't be completely fair for the first 300ish chapters or so. That said, it's not a good novel. I am dropping it. <<less

Good novel in the beginning but got bad after about 1200 chapters.
Spoiler

I won't comment on the ending or the plot holes because I've read longer novels with much worse endings and female heroines forgotten at the end.

Overall a decent read if you've read the top ranking ones on WebNovel already. I would've preferred if his real life was explained more properly since he got into the game and developed such a cautious and cunning personality because of IRL problems.

I think everyone who has read this far or even completed it (I couldn't, I dropped it before it ended) would agree that it starts off very strong 5/5 and then nosedives into a f*cking cliff (~2/5). There were so many great arcs and I loved going back to those worlds and then we never get a proper closure, like wtf? A lot of other reviewer's bring up great points about the f*ck was the point about the real world, the nonexistent exploration of the "city", the characters we never... more>> get to learn more about, no space or alien arcs, etc.

Those points have been covered by others, I want to talk about the power progression:

Spoiler

At a certain point, no stat matters besides spirit and Kieran gets his way every single time (except in the beginning where he actually struggles. In the later arcs, he just breezes through everything and every single arc becomes a detective arc.) Like what was the point of limit breaking every stat if you are only going to upgrade spirit? Kieran smashes every player when it makes no sense. Sure he has the devil heart and the creature of desire cheats, but what if a player can move fast with agility or can tank the hits or is stronger than you are in devil form because that player upgrades his strength stat. Stats have no meaning later on which bugged me. Skills were cool and I enjoyed seeing Kieran upgrade those. The devil form was amazing and the fights were cool.

This is a great novel and recommended to be read (maybe until 1600th chapter is enough, cuz after that the story kinda became a bit confusing and seems to be forced, the end is happy ending btw)

The MC is smart and causious enough. The story is also good, love the world game development on the story and the strength enhancement. Its a bit like Ultimate Evolution novel where you have mission and reward/penalty but the strength enhancement could not be brought to the real world.

Spoiler

Pro :

  • Like the MC character and the strength development :)
  • Great world development in each dungeon session
  • Its a happy ending story

Con :

  • The con mainly because after around 1600th chapter and the ending is so meh... After 1600th chapter the novel become very very very difficult to read (unlike previous ones) and very likely to make you drop the novel. Anyway, you could just ended before the forced & continuous dungeon because the ending is very very not interesting (bassically the villain just show up, then the MC comes right after and bamm... the villain lost and everybody gets back to the real world, what a meh one (its like bassicaly there's no fight at all)
  • Why Starbeck identity is a girl is being hidden and only be revealed in the ending. Its kinda strange because it seems like the author wanna attract BL lover but then change his mind in the one last chapter ending (I for myself does not like BL story one, so its kinda difficult for me to hang on until the end reading Starbeck-MC interraction as both male, because there's already a lot of girls chasing the MC and he does not has any interest in them and the author keeps hinting that he always hates girl/woman....)

over all the novel is good but the main point of the story is not discussed until the end. He starts playing the game to earn money for his sickness to which he will definitely die. But until the end we don't even know if he gets cured or not.

  1. I suggest new reader to stop around 1500+ chapter and refrain from reading the ending
Spoiler

The ending is abrupt, rushed, dumb and it show the author is not interested/invested on the series anymore.

Many plot and arc are not ended, unresolved and many thing at the end is not needed

[collapse]

Overall

  1. Good starting point
  2. Mediocre after awhile
  3. Bad ending

Boring and same old routine. He enters the game to heal himself, however instead of that he goes around risking his life. You can say that from initial fear of his life, he goes around like a gambler. Using own life as a chip. The only reason he has not lost his life is because he is the protagonist. The tag Cautious is purely there to confuse readers. Regardless of danger level you can bet your ass he is gonna come up on top. It doesn’t matter who/what his enemy... more>> is, he is the winner.

I can understand some of you may wonder why I am commenting something like that just from reading 190 chapters. Well, I have read too many chinese novels to underatand what is to come! By the way, he never scores less than "S" grade. <<less

I found most of the arcs quite enjoyable and for the genre it's quite standard with usual upgrades, points, stats etc. The cold protagonist tag is there for a reason as the MC's personality limits the novel when he has a fairly transactional approach to relationships and it means that the MC's character growth only applies to stats and not personality/relationships.

The novel's weak point is the ending that isn't really bad but horrifically rushed. Just to put it into perspective the last mini-arc before the ending was 125 chapters while... more>> the ending the includes confronting the story's main antagonist and an epilogue is 3 chapters so a lot of it is open ended and rushed. <<less

This ln took me quite sometime to finally complete as I dropped it a couple times right at the end. Overall it's a real decent story being part of the infinite genre where the MC transports to different worlds and completes quests as different characters. This is a real intersting thing to do and keeps it real active. However, as the story progresses it becomes a lot more lackluster and not as good. The MC is pretty op and even when he's pretty op the author doesn't just let him... more>> steamroll his opponents. Like the antagonists still get plenty of storytime even though they're literal ants compared to the MC and then in the end the MC just wipes them out anyways. The abilities are cool plus the food aspect of the story. Other than that it really isn't that good and for sure has a real crappy ending. The MC is also not a very likeable person becuz he has no emotions at all. Pretty generic starts out good and ends terribly.

Really can't say I would reccomend it. <<less

Really enjoyed this novel. Classic infinite flow theme, but each world was really interesting and fleshed out, and I could feel the tension and pressure that our MC was facing at like every single moment. I appreciate that our MC was very OP--even though he was weak compared to the truly strong for a large portion of the novel, relatively he is extremely overpowered and catches up to them at an unprecedented speed.

I will agree though that the last quarter or so of the novel was definitely a step down... more>> in terms of quality. Almost 80% of the last third or quarter focuses HEAVILY on food and eating, which makes sense in part but is also so exaggerated that it feels like it's just there as a very in-your-face quirk and to take up space. Ending was very rushed, with the author trying to finish the whole storyline with hundreds of chapters worth of material in 5 chapters. In the end the only thing I was looking forward to was more cute moments with Starbeck, though I was disappointed when he did end up being revealed as a girl having to pretend to be a man. Come on, we already had another one in the team who was like that, can't we have some man to man love here? Though not surprising in the least. Very disappointed by the ending, there was so much that could have been done and explained, MC gets control but what does he do after that? The entire premise of the novel was about the MC wanting to cure his illness but the end just entirely skips over that part. What about the scenes of our MC and Starbeck getting together?? So much could have been done to finish the story. It was still a very gripping and enjoyable journey though. <<less

This was pretty entertaining to begin with. I just felt the story was dragging on far too long. Same plot points repeated again and again with nothing much interesting to look forward to. 510 chapters is only 1/4 of the way through and it really should have had the story wrapping up not too much in the future. Instead it will be more of the same.

This is one of my favorite novels, especially for its worldbuilding and plots. The MC went from a young and weak newbie to the peak.
I really love that each dungeon is a whole world filled with secrets and a complete backstory. The only downside is that as the MC stays not too long in each it's impossible to know or understand everything. Plus the narration hides many things from us, the MC knows or understands a lot more than us in each world and we are only explained a micro part.

Spoiler

Example we never knew what is the hidden power of Marie, why does the stone door in the Shaman world leads to a whole new world filled with gods, who are the enemies Kitti is keeping the door from? How did Broker resurrect dead players? What happens to the MC now that he is the only player? What does he fight?

[collapse]

The story is still full of secrets.

The power system is also very interesting, although the MC wanted to be a jack of trade at a moment he started only focusing on the spirit. This confused me at first but reading the benefit this gave him, I can only say it became understandable

Spoiler

Because of the cursed power he got, there was a strict requirement on his spirit and constitution, and once his spirit got to a very high level, he understood how different this stat is from the others. Especially when the players with high spirit are considered more dangerous than the not.

[collapse]
In summary, this novel is filled with adventure and mysteries, a very hidden romance too lol I'm still shocked about the end and may read it again for the fourth time.

Ok, so I really enjoyed the entire novel except for the last arc... omg it was really rushed to a point that it made me sad when I read the last chapter.

Anyways the novel is really good should anyone read after this text do not expect too much for the gran finale. The last battle with the final boss? Not great at all. At least we all got to know about Kieran and Starbeck, but about the genetic desease Kieran had seems like the autor forgot it.

What a journey

This novel give good vibe like lord of the mysteries that even if there's so many chapters as a reader I don't feel bored

The pacing is steady and interesting with tense moments and some face slapping and a pinch of every women falling for the protag in this case MC know bout them but ignore them for the bigger goal, food n power (I respect that a lot)

Especially MC personality as a slightly paranoid straight man ; enemy start momologing kick them; beautiful women try seduction, another... more>> kick to the face; captured enemy trying to bag for life w valuable info, another kick (gender equality to the max)

The side characters are memorable as well and they make u honestly cheer for them like how much of a dramatic puppy that whines for attention lawless is normally but become a Fierce tiger when friends in danger

Overall every arc except the last is great. Last one was a bit rush n a lot of expositions <<less

why the hell isn't he using the Myriad Viper when he knows that Deadman's Gaze can easily be neutralized tch

It's okay, while not the greatest story I've found it to be a worthy time waster if nothing else. Still it has a lot of problems and the biggest one is the authors inability/unwillingness to have the MC grow and change as a character, constantly handing the MC the idiot ball and calling it arrogance despite the fact that the MC never learns from it, at the point in the story I'm at I think it's happened literally dozens of different, separate times with no hope of it getting better... more>> in sight. Still it's saved from being unbearable because the MC doesn't whine about it all the time, only immediately after the fact when he "engraves the lesson into his heart" (yeah right). <<less
