The Legendary Mechanic

What do you do when you wake up and find yourself inside the very game that you love?

What do you do when you realize you that you have not only become an NPC – you have even been thrown back in time to before the game even launched!

What will happen when our protagonist’s two realities coincide?

Han Xiao was a professional power leveler before his transmigration. Using his past life’s knowledge, Han Xiao sweeps through the universe as he prepares for the arrival of the players. This is definitely not your typical transmigration novel.

Originally started reading the translation of this a few months ago. Although the whole "Game world with players" wasn't really my thing I found myself enjoying this novel way more than I was expecting. MC is smart enough to take advantage of what he knows, plot armor doesn't come off as SUPER thick but like most novels it is there.

After catching up to the current translation I was even willing to suffer though reading the machine translation and honestly 100% readable unlike some of the garbage out there. As... more>> the novel shys away from the usual cultivation terms the translation comes out legible. Very few times did I ever go "wtf does that mean?" <<less

I really love this novel and up to now it's my favourite novel outta there.

The main character with his unique character and way of dealing with situations makes this novel interesting and funny and keeps you wanting more of it.

But I still have a Problem with this novel. Since I started reading this I'm not able to find books or novels that are on a similar standart - and have aside form 'The Legendary Mechanic' not much stuff left to read.

Just joking. If you like cool battle Scenes combined with... more>> an even cooler MC - up there's the button for chapter one. <<less

The MC is a A**hole.

That is the plain simple way to describe him. Very selfish (not in a interesting way), unfunny (constantly try to make him out to be by using sarcastic remarks but they are just cringe) and disgusting (constant nose and ear cleaning to make him look cool just sounds disgusting to me).

With NPCs he act like player and with players he act like a NPC. So he is stuck in between two groups awkwardly.

The setting is interesting and the start is very intriguing but the actions of... more>> the MC just make the story painful to read.

It physically and mentally hurt me when I tried reading this for a second time to the point where I decided to drop this rant as a review. <<less

I don't have much thoughts when I first encountered this story, I was just reading it to past time and was planning to drop it when I thought it got boring or if there are too many plotholes and bad storyline. Just few chapters in, I already noticed few plotholes and a major plothole that has been bugging me until the end of the story. Originally, I would have already drop this story, but it's been a while since I have read a story about a weak MC becoming op.... more>> Also, apart from the MC's coolness factor, the story's development is also interesting, so I stick around for a few more chapters until I just chose to gradually ignore the plotholes (except for the major plothole that prevented me from giving it 5 stars) and got invested into the story.

Pros of the story:

  • There are five interesting and refreshing superpower classes, namely: Pugilist, Esper, Mage, Psychic, and Mechanic
  • World building is good, it showed how huge and vast the universe really is
  • Detailed explanation about the state of the universe
  • Mind-blowing plot twist (related to the ending of the story) that you will only encounter at the 1100 or something and above chapters of the story
Cons:

  • Though I like that the MC's character is in the gray area, I don't like how he treat his friends and people as tools
  • The major plothole!
    Spoiler

The major plothole I'm talking about is related to the developers of the game (that was never mentioned in the story, or probably mentioned only once by a player who said he has some connection to one of the game's officials). Since the MC transmigrated as an NPC in the game and caused a huge butterfly effect that greatly changed the course of the game, I expected some game developers or their system to fix this bug called Han Xiao, during their version updates, but that never happened. He has been disrupting the order of the game since the beta version. The developers must have some plans for the game but this NPC is ruining it and acting out of order, but they never took action. Although, the existence of the game, the reason why the MC transmigrated (which was really cool), and some other things I thought were plotholes, can later be explained through the Great Reboot plan, the existence of the game developers of Galaxy still bug me. They should have some control of the game and can interfer and influence the events happening in the game's universe. But the game developers are almost nonexistent. I don't know if I explained my point well, but basically, the existence of the game developers are what I consider the major plothole.

    [collapse]
I should have rated this 3 starts since it was still interesting regardless of the plotholes, but I added another star since the plot twist at the end of the story really hit me hard.

Personally, I don't think reading this is a complete waste of time, it was still a fun and exciting read. I suggest you read it till the end since most things will only be explained at the 1000+ chapters. <<less

The amount of reviews and comments that seem to think the ending is good astonish me.

What ending? There isn't one!!

This novel is a masterpiece, truly. The worldbuilding the character development the side characters the comedy just.. Almost everything is perfect.

But it as two nearly fatal flaws, the romance and the ending. And to explain will require spoilers.

Romance: ... more>>
Spoiler

The romance is poor because the MC spends the first 90% of the novel building emotional connections with multiple women, it is very clearly moving in a harem direction. If he weren't so busy and isolating himself because he grows so fast that anyone who could be a teammate to him will be left behind almost immediately he would have actually had a full harem.

But the point is that he is very clearly eventually going to have a harem, there are several girls that have deep emotional connections to him and want him. Until suddenly he chooses to have a monogamous relationship with only a single woman whom isn't even one of the girls he has the deepest connection with.

So the others who have spent decades with the MC expecting a reciprocal relationship with him get shafted with no warning.

[collapse]

Ending:
Spoiler

The "ending" isn't an ending at all, it's a temporary solution to the problem and leaves many loose ends and plotholes, some of which are so gigantic you could fit galaxies inside.

The primary thread of the story is that MC is a human from the main universe who gets pulled into the dark universe (the game) by the members of the dark universe in order to attempt saving their universe from death in the cycle. They want their iteration to continue on.

Their method for doing which is incredibly flawed however and they somehow get multiple tries, they looped time of not only their dark universe but also the main universe somehow not explained in order to try again when they fail.

Their solution was to try and pull a human from the main universe into the dark universe and use them as a fulcrum to lever the dark universe back into the main universe, essentially.

The story takes place in their last attempt, they will not get another, the previous attempt (where the MC's memories come from) was a failure. We never know who the developers are in the main universe who somehow have control of the universe and can create items in the dark universe for the players who spend money on microtransactions. We never know how they manage to do the tournaments or anything.

Logic would indicate that the developers that are running the game (which isn't actually a game but is just a connection between the universes disguised to look like a game so that members of the main universe will interact with the dark universe I guess) are nearly omniscient beings. They're able to make changes based on player feedback across the universes, if they're able to do these things, why can't they just save the dark universe boom story done? Why are they never revealed, are the developers transcendent like the MC? We never get a single clue.

So that's some of the massive plotholes left unexplained and I haven't even mentioned how the method that they use to save the universe is one time use!

The MC can never do the same trick again.

He was a fulcrum between the previous universe and the current universe because he was a member of the current universe originally pulled into the dark universe. He won't have a connection with the next universe to be able to save the universe again when the cycle repeats, their solution isn't complete.

And then we also don't know how the universe is being saved at the end. We get a short scene after he does whatever he does to "save the universe" where he is on Earth and humans discover him, we also get a sneak peak into the fact that another civilization was about to attack the Earth but that is also left unresolved, not the point though either.

Is he pulling only all of the people from the dark universe into the main universe? Is he saving the planets too? What about the other dimensions like the Void Dimension? If he is pulling the planets and galaxies across too will there be collisions? If he pulls only the people where do they all end up, we only know he somehow ends up on Earth. There are so many problems that arise from this crap it ain't funny.

[collapse]

So many unanswered questions, so many plotholes. It's so much fun to read, but if you really pay attention you will get frustrated.

And I'm still flabbergasted at how many people have read the story and not noticed these problems. I see no one else talking about it, they say the ending is really good and satisfying and I'm floored thinking they read a different book than me.

These aren't small plotholes, they're massive plotholes that potentially break the entire story and create paradoxes where none of the story is possible within its own rules. And I've only listed a couple of them.

If you don't pay that much attention the story is a grand space opera of epic proportions that will leave you entertained for days or weeks if you real slow. But I can't give it a 5 star review knowing these massive problems exist within it. <<less

I finished reading this some time ago, just now getting around to reviewing it. Even so, it remains stuck in my head. This was... a fun novel, to read. The author was exceptional in terms of worldbuilding, and the plot wasn’t half bad, either. The characters felt fleshed out, and interesting. The chapters right up until they get to him leaving planet Aquamarine (not a spoiler, it is pretty much mentioned REALLY early on that space travel is highly important) are easily the best, in my opinion. After that... is... more>> where things start to take a dive, unfortunately.
Not a STEEP dive, no. It still remains pretty good, but the author definitely gets overly ambitious, with how much he expands the world, and the characters. And the inevitable happens... characters, subplots that were started, that seemed important... get sidelined, or even forgotten, buried amidst the relentless march of the plot. I heard somewhere that he had to trim down what he wanted to write by about 2 million words, I think? Don’t quote me on that. But it sure feels like it. Characters you want to see more of, aren’t even mentioned for hundreds upon hundreds of chapters. Some just disappear. Some might get mentioned once, or twice, but then get shoved back into the closet for a long, long time. It bears all the signs of severe bloating, in terms of individual characters and plotlines. The players? A few seemed important, and crop up from time to time, but otherwise get the same treatment as the other characters. And, without spoiling anything, I’ll just say the ending is... anticlimactic as hell. You get to see the reactions of maybe 3 or 4 characters you know. And nobody else. ... an epilogue would have been nice, or an afterstory, or SOMETHING TO ADDRESS WHAT HAPPENED AFTERWARDS, FOR GOD’S SAKE. But nope! Ugh. But, even with all my complaining, I still can recommend giving it a read. The humor, plot, and worldbuilding are great, and the characters are fairly well written. Just be careful not to get overly attached to them, in case they get sidelined for 500+ chapters. <<less

First of all, this will definitely be biased, I've reread The Legendary Mechanic more than 3 times. And I love it but I hope I can explain to you why I love it and not just let my biases talk.

First the strengths

Interesting Premise that was executed well. I know a dozen or so other WNs that have the MC become an NPC trope but so far I've enjoyed TLM the best.

It's a satisfying story of a crafter-type MC. This is definitely my bias talking, and TLM isn't even that good... more>> of a story featuring a crafter MC but nonetheless, it bears to be mentioned.

The MC himself has a fairly satisfying growth too, sure it mostly happens in the end but otherwise, he is much more agreeable compared to standard overly shameless MCs, he is cunning, manipulative, and most definitely conniving of benefits.
Spoiler

Which makes his genuine moments, especially with Ames so much more special in my mind.

[collapse]

I could perhaps list more reasons I like the story but I'm not trying to write a paper on TLM so onwards to the Cons

The story can get VERY bland for dozens if not hundreds of chapters at a time. This is most definitely also affected by me rereading this story, but even in my first read-through certain mini-plots were just exhausting to trudge through

Loose plot points do exist, characters getting outgrown and forgotten is also a big thing. Even in the finale, there's a major loose thread author doesn't acknowledge.

It can devolve into a "Look how cool the MC is!" a lot, which you could argue is most stories, but nonetheless, it bears mentioning.

Power systems when you take your time can show little flaws that just stand out as being a tad out, numbers per level in classes suddenly changing with seemingly no pattern, things like that. But all in all, you shouldn't really pay much attention to the numbers in the story. It's basically all fluff. It's not the most egregious power system I've seen, not by a long shot.

I understand how the romance aspect might make some people a little annoyed, but hey if you reach the point where the MC actually shows romantic inclinations I'd wager most wouldn't really care much anyway. Spoiler regarding MC's romance
Spoiler

We've been repeatedly teased with Hila developing feelings for MC as well as seemingly the dream Aurora witnessed while in the Lock during the World Tree War when she was targeted by I forget which Tree king. Yet nothing comes of it.

[collapse]
If you read this don't count on the romance, but it does end with a monogamous relationship if you are the type to vehemently hate harem stories.

All in all, I'd say this is a worthwhile read at least for the first few hundred chapters, then consider reading more if you don't mind having boring arcs. The ending isn't the best it can be confusing and the way it happens perhaps oozes lazy writing wishing to wrap things up with how the build-up to the ending happens considering the preceding events. In fact, I'd say the last like 30? Chapters are weak and not satisfying at all.

So yeah a long wordy monologue from a fan of the story. You know that old adage that goes something like, "If I had more time I would've written a shorter letter" ? Well no, I just suck at reviewing and only felt the need to do this as a fan <<less

I genuinely think this is one of the best novels ever.
Many of the concepts are new and I love the concept of the protagonist being an "NPC". I know there are some other stories with this concept (like The legendary Boss, which was discontinued), but they are not even close to this novel.
There are not a lot of episodes where you are in suspense because you think the MC may lose, but you still be extremely curious about what is gonna happen and what plan Han Xiao is... more>> harboring.
The universe created by the author is really intricated and fun to explore and a lot of characters have a good development and are not flat. It's always expanding with new people, new mysteries to discover. It's not just the main character that is following the story, you also get immersed as if you were living there. I was never one that made hypotheses when I was reading or watching something, but when reading this I just had to guess what would happen, how could the characters go on and survive and the novel never disappointed me, and most of all the reason behind the appearance of the players and his transmigration.
There are obviously some problems though, one of the biggest ones is the way players behave. In the story, it's like they all think the same things with just one brain with a few brain cells. They all behave like good children, following the orders and being always hardworking. It's obviously not like this in reality, there are many different people and in games, some behave well, some prefer the "evil" path, some just want some fun. As players are an important part of the story, I feel like they should have been described in a better way.

The last arc was pretty disappointing, and I feel like there were more plot holes than usual... The three Universal Civilizations are way too useless, even with all the help Black Start gave them they suffered a lot, I don't understand how they won in his previous life.

The ending is really, really awesome. I usually don't like the endings of the stories, but this was really satisfying. <<less

Start of the novel is pretty good, I got to admit. I don't really have many complaints early on.

However, it very quickly becomes apparent on the flaws in this story. For context, Han Xiao went back through time and got transmigrated into a game he played as an NPC. Now, a lot of people say he used the excuse of being a NPC to not get into any relationships, but this was never stated anywhere nor was it implied.

The first major flaw in this novel is info-dumps and fillers. 50%... more>> of this novel is filler. The author constantly writes 3+ chapters on how the main character sold x to the players in the game, and how he made a million or two. (He is already super-rich and this money is hardly used to accomplish much) Furthermore, the details on weapons and stats is far too tedious. I don't think a single person reading this novel actually cared about the energy output on every single part of his mech-suits. All the information is tediously long, everything later on feels like it's turning into filler and plot dumps.

Second flaw in this novel is how the main character never really develops a meaningful relationship with anyone. He doesn't really have friends, only long-term business partners. In fact, most of the people he meets and develops a non-business relationship to he abandons within 50 chapters. 300 chapters in and theres zero romance, kinda dissapointing.

Overall, a pretty decent novel early on, however it rapidly becomes tedious to read. <<less

The Legendary Mechanic is a fun read with an interesting "game-elements" world, yet it lacks any stakes or challenge for the main character. Fun, but don't expect too much. A "steamrolling guide to the galaxy" if you may.

The novel introduces a common premise of the genre, with the main character transmigrating from modern Earth to a VRMMO he used to play. I'm usually skeptical of situations like this, where the world tend to feel unreal or forced and the characters seem to ignore what happens around them but, in this... more>> case, the author takes the time and effort to acknowledge the strangeness of some events related to the game and the world reacts to them, even if only so far.

However, the actual relation between the "game" and the world is not explored up to the very end in one long, dense, and somewhat confusing info dump, with some holes in it, which feels like a wasted opportunity. It does not help that the impact the players have in the world is anecdotal at best, with their main function being providing experience to the main character to fuel his growth, turning them into somewhat of a gimmick and the main character into an overpowered figured who just steamrolls his way through every encounter.

That being said, this gives a certain dynamism to the story making it fun to binge. The comedic tone of the novel and the interactions with the secondary characters are certainly entertaining and the exploration of the galaxy creates a feeling of discovery and exploration.

The Good:

  • The world is responsive to the external influences of the system and players.
  • The comedic tone and secondary character interactions make for a fun read.
  • The exploration of the world is interesting.
  • There is an explanation for the existence of a system and game mechanics, which not always happens.
The Bad:

  • The explanation for the system has some holes to it and it feels more of a conclusive info dump than a part of the actual plot.
  • There is no challenge at all for the main character and the development is straightforward and simple.
  • The players' actions feel like a gimmick.
  • Close to no character development.
In conclusion, an interesting and fun read if you just want to disconnect your brain and read about someone stomping on everyone and everything, just don't get your hopes up for anything "extra". <<less

It's kinda sad to drop this, I was hoping for a novel with iron man vibe but I just lost motivation reading this.

I compared this on 'The God Virus' novel at first but realized the difference between the two. My enjoyment on that one is neverending but it's only temporary on this book.

This book doesn't have much to offer from the plot itself since it only focus on MC getting stronger. I enjoyed the First 125ish chaps and quite a bit on the Germinal War.

The my enjoyment mostly all about... more>> the times when the MC is getting stronger. The MC is likable at the beginning he's not interested very much anything aside from the getting stronger itself I understand that he's a weirdo power leveller.. He's also selfish and most of his moves are focus on things that benefits him which is a plus for me since like these type of MC, but as I read on and get to know the MC I realize that he's not the type of MC with reason, it's just that his character is really just 2-dimensional. Without depth at all. He's like an AI programmed like that. It just became really boring following all the things he's doing. Most of his relationships with everyone had no depth either whether they're his Allies, Enemies or Friends.. The interactions makes me cringe really bad it's alright when the MC is talking with strangers but when he's talking with his so-called friends like Antonio or Bennett I'm getting goosebumps of how corny and awkward the interactions is, I'm not against anyone but if I have to 'describe' it, that is exactly how an introvert who doesn't know a thing about socializing would write awkward interaction between characters. There's also Frenzied Sword, author sometimes create awkward narrations where frenzied sword is gay for the MC, he says so many cringey things in his mind about the MC. All jokes and humour are really awkward, I really can't see where the comedy it's just torture. The side characters are mostly have 1 dimension personalities like the default young master type who are always jealous of the MC, emotionless type, good people type. Basically the most basic character anyone can see in every story none of them had quirky personality and something that makes them a character to be remembered.

It started good and interesting, at first I had thoughts like 'Interesting' 'Can't wait for him (mc) to develop' 'Cool' but as I read on the MC becomes really tiring and boring for me. If I had to describe the feeling then I have to first say I'm a reading addict and loves to binge read, but I realize bit by bit that I felt lethargic whenever I thought about reading continuing this book and I unknowingly trying to find something to enjoy like playing games or watching movies which I rarely do whenever I'm reading something and that's when I realized my enjoyment for the book is gone.

🔸Story: 3/5 Nothing to see here
🔸Characters: 2/5 Bland
🔸Concept: 5/5 Interesting
🔸Worldbuilding: 3/5 Meh
🔸Translation: 2/5 Discombobulate

PS: The humor is bad. Careful.

——

Edit: I read the story will get better around 300 chapters. Fck I was so close. I'll put this up on my reread list for now. <<less

I started reading this novel for fun but I ended up binge reading it until the end. Impatient with the translation, I forced to tolerate the MTL which made my head hurt but it still shed me some light.

This, to me was not just a story, but a lifetime. It felt like I've been with Han Xiao through the ride and it felt awesome. I enjoyed reading this story and I kinda felt nostalgic now that a year passed after I finished it.

Han Xiao felt like the brother, lover, and... more>> senior that I wanna have. His problems, emotions, and resolve are handled very well and what I like about him is he maximize the benefit of the end results while minimizing the bad aftermath he and his group will face. He isn't the Hero type but looks like one because of the effects of his choices. He is calculative, opportunistic, but loyal and hard working.

Spoiler

It kinda sadden me that he had a love relationship with FL at which bloomed slowly from 1200 to the last chapters but I accepted it reluctantly because although their story isn't romantically written, the flow of their growth together is moving. They are both adults that knows what they wanted and what time to get it. They respected once choice and supported the other in the way that fits. It was one of the healthiest and mature relationship I have read in my opinion.

I think the MC's personality can be excused. He came to this world not knowing whether he was human/NPC. Existential confusion is only normal. Moreover, he was tortured and brainwashed. Although the brainwash failed, he was tense for months on end because of being tortured by a sad*st and coveted by a manic researcher. At this point, any normal human without resistance training to torture will be deformed. He was not a soldier, just an ordinary gamer. At this point, being able to escape while remaining sane is a victory.... more>> Expecting a person like him to not be selfish and have empathy may be extravagant. You can also interpret the novel MC as not having met a person he could be sincere to at the end of the story. It may be lonely but at least he can secure his own safety.

I'm still reading so will update this later. <<less

Struggles a lot with its setting, could have honestly done without the players even though they are such loveable minions of our overlord Han Xiao.

The players really feel out of place in the universe in earlier chapters with the tone, and our MC has trouble having any meaningful interactions with anyone seeing everyone as NPCs.

From the perspective of someone reading the chapters as they come out, I think the pacing is in a good place and plenty of interesting stuff is happening at the moment.

The earlier chapters do well due... more>> to the combat being more grounded, with strategy playing a larger role. The middle ground is also fun, which relies mostly on Han Xiao's plotting.

Han Xiao is definitely a priviledged member of the world in terms of powering up bullshit, taking advantage of what he has no business having, but in fairness, he had a pretty rough start in the beginning. It definitely toes the line closer to fair than unfair, with any advantages being maximised by quirks in ability instead of raw power for the situation.

If you like the general premise of chinese novels, this is a good place to start with good world building. One of my favourites, and current favourite of them. <<less

If I were to review it with a complete unbiased opinion, this novel would get at least a 4*. But I do not consider myself to be nor do I have any intention to be unbiased. So here's my biased review where my main reason of disliking this novel (a little) is the protagonists personality. ... more>>
Spoiler

He's extremely selfish. He treats others as objects without emotions (it's not explicitly shown). Like the owner of workshop on planet Aquamarine. After his planet went through a disaster he never tried to see how she is or what she's doing. Is she even alive or what? He doesn't maintain any form of contact with her because she has no value. Like a valueless object she was forgotten. Then next let's talk about Hila. She's one of the major (arguable because I doubt there's any major character except the protagonist) character. But he doesn't know anything about her. He just sees her as a person with a lot of potential and helps her become stronger which will in the end profit him. That's it. Full stop. Nothing else. No interaction or anything else. Same for Aurora. Then let's talk about Herlous. He is supposed to be an old friend but when he reaches his limit (ie end of potential) he forgets about him. We never see him interacting with him ever again. At most we are told that "They are too far apart and their relationship can't be the same". Same happen with Silvia and Aroshia too. So in other words one have to have some value to be his friend if their value ends so does their friendship. Ok. That's really reasonable ^_^. But he doesn't even know anything about people who have value. Just as I was talking before... Hila. We aren't told anything about her daily life. And tbh I hate her. Because she's too much bland and inhumane. Like there's nothing else to her except killing intent and cold look. A failure on the authors part I suppose. Hm. Real thing starts now..... Protagonist is an a**hole. Selfish, one who consider himself to be above reason. A person who believes having attitude of "Evil and Rightous depends on ones position" absolves him of all sh*it he has done. Sure bud. I'm a pure psychopath just like you who believes killing innocent, unrelated, ignorant people aren't wrong. It isn't wrong to risk billions of people for selfish goal either. It's just a matter be of ones perspective. Hah. His attitude pi**es me off so much I can't express it in words. His "I'm above you" attitude irkes me. Despite all this I'm gratified about one thing and that is it's not a harem. But I wish there were more character interaction tho. Anyway I have mixed feelings about the ending. It is explained..... well, I guess?. But was it satisfying? Nah. It wasn't, not for me. But it was good nonetheless.

Good start but it disappointed me the further I went with the story... at around chapter 50 the game elements went too deep and the world-building faded into the sh*t "transported into the game world".
It had potential but... sadly it all ended quickly.

This may be the best 'shounen' webnovel, or perhaps better put as the Bleach/Naruto of the webnovel genre. I've never read something so easily digestible and enjoyable to follow. This is the perfect novel to kick back on and indulge in if you're looking for a casual read.

There are no deep schemes, sagely underlying meaning to grasp, or Buddha-like quotes to engrave in your soul, and that's perfect. In fact, there are even some gaping plot holes that might make you want to throttle the author, but the rest of... more>> the story is so good that you can effectively just gloss over them and you'll be fine. You can just keep on reading and reading, and as action ramps up and levels follow, you'll get more and more immersed.

I've not much else to say honestly, this is a 4.5/5 novel and I'd greatly recommend it nearly anyone who's ever racked open a webnovel and found even the slightest bit of enjoyment from reading it. <<less

One of the best novels I've read. I told my main piece in the last chapter on comrademao, but I'll do it here again for people wanting to read this. All in all: it's completely worth the read. The plot is fast paced and interesting. There is occasional comedy. the ending is interesting. I love this novel just so much! In addition, the author explores new technologies outside of just who has the bigger starship or mecha. There are actually very interesting technological concepts I had a lot of... more>> fun exploring. Romance is a point which only gets explored at the end of the novel,

major spoiler and the MC does manage to return to his world. This ambition also gets revealed late in the story.

The only weak point of this novel is the missing crisis throughout most of the novel and the relatively unmemorable middle part of the story. It's still important for the later plot and not really boring, but it just doesn't stick in your memory.

All in all, a top tier recommendation for every Sci-Fi lover! <<less

Initially I didn't want to write this review but holy sh*t the player in this novel is so f*cking annoying at the point that I skip most of their part. And what the hell with pro player like how tf you make money when there's only 2 f*cking tournament like what's the point. And the players... God don't let me star with the players. They like the most f*cking boring character especially the pro player. Also the world building as a universe it's kinda interesting but as a game it's... more>> so broken that I wonder how the f*ck the player didn't get suspicious. maybe the developer is god lmao and just f*cking playing aroud. And the player name's make me sick I mean I understand that bc I play mmorpg too but even that it's make me cringe everytime I read their name's especially burn hit dog f*ck you bun hit dog also frenzies sword but maple it's the exception.I still don't understand how the pro player make money from this game. Also Idk if han xiao it's too f*cking genius or the esgod it's just ret*rded piece of sh*t that not event f*cking considered cube that han xiao carried its fake like you have so many experience and get tricked by GREAT MECHANICAL HAN LMAO GREAT MECHANICAL HAN. Also dying in this game it's so s*upid that make it pointless bc if you PK somebody they just can respawn with almost no consequences. As the genre reincarnation in a game it's fail miserably but as your normal isekai it's quite decent but even after that the characters it's not properly developed except for a few characters like yours typical xianxia. AND ALSO REMEMBER THE GREATNESS OF THE GREAT MECHANICAL HAN ALL HAIL THE GREAT MECHANICAL HAN

Spoiler

AND LASTLY f*ck YOU BUN HIT DOG

Its really weird how so many people here have misconceptions about MC's intentions and motives, as well as the author's.

Mainly its a good sci-fi with some cultivation alongside it. Difference between power levels are usually only countered by massively powerful weapons, so while being strong is a hell of an advantage it doesn't make the strong person invincible.

Fights are better in the beginning than in the later stages, mainly when the MC does mechanical armies in the earnest, it gets dampened down by then. The incredibly huge armies rushing to... more>> their destruction by the hands of a powerful individual isn't all that interesting, and it doesn't get well developed. We aren't introduced why the MC does things in the way he does, for example why he goes for numbers and not for quality when fighting more powerful people. Thats just ONE example, I don't want to spam here but there's some more.

Though there are some issues, none of them affect the selling points of the story. It has a very good storyline, with plenty of uniqueness, variables and interesting relationships. The author largely doesn't let his personal views contaminate the entirety of the novel and it has a very realistic grounding, specially the relationships between organizations and internal squabbles. Moreover, it has "natural" humor, without it being forced.

Spoiler

He had always been envious of how Psionic Prime would always be on Han Xiao’s side. Psionic Prime was just a Hovering Fissionist; the master’s favorite should be him—a thick, long, and manly Planetary Obliteration Cannon!

Overall its my favorite, mainly because the issues aren't really important to the novel. When the MC starts building his organization in earnest, his fights get more boring, but again the novel's focus already shifted from 1x1 fighting to building up an organization so that isn't crucial, when 1x1 was the focus it was very good.

Now addressing to some other issues: No, the MC doesn't date, and while he says its because of the trouble that women brought him it has that clear air of an excuse, and it seems to be due to genuine lack of interest, as he isn't really attracted even by the women he recognize as attractive; The MC doesn't care for the other people that are in trouble due to the same reason you ignore the beggars and don't help them, its none of his business if they are doing well or not, be aware that this isn't a story about a chivalrous hero; His relationship with everyone is rather empty because he is very ambitious and somewhat of a power freak, pushing no small amount of effort in raising his influence, therefore he naturally doesn't spend much time building good relationships with friends, he rather raise up his army; By receiving EXP easily he just barely gets into the ranks of a powerhouse in the later chapters, so I wouldn't say that he faces no challenges as even with so much advantages he just barely makes it, I also find rather strange that him getting into B grade makes him excessively OP when decent armies have dozens of millions of such people. <<less
