One of my favorites!!! A light novel. Not too much drama and the villains are quickly dealt with. No annoying fillers. ??
Spoiler

The MC and ML are both transmigrator and they knew each other in their past life but the ML didnt tell the MC this.

The ML also has a "system" and this world is his last and the wolrd where the soul of the MC is. When he finished his mission the system ask him if he wanst to return to the real world and he will be cured (because of an accident he became a waste) and in the time where the MC is still not dead (plane crash) but ML chose this world because he knows that he is not confident if the MC will still love him and the MC will not remember their memories in this world thats why he chose to remain in this world where they will be together.

Hard for me to rate. The writing was good and the translation seamless so it gets a 3 for that. The plot, the characters, the author's choice of focus, to my taste were all \ up there with watching paint dry.

The rest of the review is spoilerish but not actually spoilers. So be warned.

The novel opens with the ML arriving at the airport. The entire lost child returning to the family is done. She was found back Yada yada yada things are fine sunshine and rainbows everything is fine in... more>> the Su family. That's about the highpoint of interest. We get tidbits of information like the MC decided to go to medical school and become a doctor because she planned on pursuing her avocation of writing web novels. The ML is smitten at first sight and it becomes ever more dull from there.

Bottom line: It's really dull <<less

After reading some reviews about this novel, I don't have many expectations when picking up this novel. But somehow I'm suprised by its plot.

Unlike other transmigration novel that I've ever read, this novel has different plot. If in the other novel, adopted sister and real sister will hate each other or scheme against each other, MC (Su Jin) and her sister, Li Xiyue, love and support each other. Although in the end ML (Li Xin) doesn't choose Li Xiyue as his fiance, Li Xiyue doesn't harbor any grudges towards her... more>> adopted sister and continue to support her. Also both MC and ML's families are warm and loving. There's no schemes between family members and they get along well.

What makes this novel's plot somewhat fresh is ML's background.

Spoiler

ML is also a transmigrator and he's also has other identity as a "Wish Agent". ML knows MC in his previous life. He secretly loves MC and is devastated after MC's death. After his death, ML becomes a "Wish Agent" and must complete mission assigned to him in various world. In his last mission, ML meets MC again in the novel world and tries to pursue her.

[collapse]

This novel has a lot potentials if the author could make it longer. Many characters are worth to be developed and I want too see their ending too.

About the ending, I couldn't help but to cry a bit. It's a bittersweet ending and different from other novel with transmigration plot story.

Spoiler

ML decides to stay at the novel world with MC although he's given a chance to go back to the real world right before MC's accident. Somehow I understand ML's decision. In the novel world, both ML and MC have a loving family, something that they didn't have in their previous life. Both ML and MC are happier in the novel world.

But there is a consequences for ML's choice to remain in the novel world. He can't have an offspring because the novel world is just a fantasy world that will be collapsed someday. Thus he can only make himself infertile so MC doesn't blame herself.

They spend their life together until they grow old and die in each other's embrace.

ML love is just weird imo. Love at first sight then endless pampering. It's weird how he just become possesive and relentless at first sight.

So I read spoilers that he has a system and that is why he acted like that.

But another point is that the story seems bland and boring. I'm really sorry to this great translator, Meraki, that I cannot continue reading this. I just want more excitement to keep my attention.

I had been avoiding reading this book for sometime. The reason being, I wasn't in a mood for family drama, like her new sister scheming against her or her old family hating her. The other reason being the "showbiz" tag. I didn't want to deal with brainless media and fans.

But I'm happy this book had none of that. It was just a big ball of fluff.

The end twist blew me away. I was not expecting that at all. Like most people I had guessed the half of it but not... more>> the other unique half. It was an amazing twist.

So Amazing Main leads. Lovable side characters. A cute simple plot line. ❤❤ Nothing crazy. Nothing overwhelming. Just... Fluff?❤ <<less

Translation and flow is so good (5/5).

However I only gave it a 3 stars because of how superficial the boring the story got. If you like a fluff fantasy piece with no real angst and OP ML and FL backgrounds, then it's for you.

Perhaps I wasn't in the right mood for it. It started out really promising with the author giving an interesting spin on typical transmigration stories where the MC has the ability to prophesy and predict events. This story plays on multi-universes ideas based on the butterfly effect... more>> of even a simple action (i.e. FL transmigrating). I don't mind wealthy backgrounds and actually really like intact-families for the MC. However, it just got really boring because the ML is written to be so OP with hidden talents for every single situation. It really doesn't give enough depth to a character imo. Kinda similar with FL, something didn't feel exactly right for me with her reactions and motivations.

Spoiler

I guess it was meant to be an 'unconditional love' moment when the ML revealed he literally planned and orchastrates the death of people and plays God by determining that a person cannot live just because they hate the FL. I honestly like that he was decisive to make a plan earlier rather than wait for the 'villian' to get back at FL. However, outright killing someone in a modern setting - I just couldn't justify that. To me, it was good that the FL accepted him and didn't recoil from his way of loving her. BUT unconditional love to me is not accepting every single behaviour of the person you love. It's loving them to tell them what you think (which the FL basically had no moral or opinion about) and walking with them through their change or mistakes.

[collapse]

Anyways I did stop at ch 33, maybe someday I'll pick it up again and change my mind. <<less

? If you take away the overly described fashion, and the repetitive mention of how beautiful the MC and ML are, and scratch out the hundreds of times "peach blossom" is written, the story isn't bad. ?

The drama was well paced and not over the top. The MC was easy to understand and interesting enough

Spoiler

Because she's afraid to get close to others due to her past life, she's built a wall around her heart. So expect a long hard fight from the ML to get her to fall in love ?

[collapse]

I liked how persistent the ML was. Though his backstory is super surprising... didn't see that coming at all. Total mind f*ck!! ?

The tender light-hearted moments and sprinkle of drama made the story worth sticking with.

The translation was good.

Overall 3 stars! <<less

One of the best novel i've read, unexpected story, I thought it's just MC that reincarnated to novel, but ML too (and he is the one who make this story happen). On some chapter, you will find some word that make ambiguous, it is like "all this year", even though MC reincarnated not yet one year, and MC and ML only meet just half year, but you will find this word that make you think ML looking for MC for long years, that because ML loving MC for their former life until his searching for her reincarnation. They have tragic live on their former life. Lastly, the ending is very good, they grow old and die together (but without children) on their chair.

This story make me remember on one novel with title "To Be A Virtuous Wife", try read if you want, they have the same feeling, but this novel little bit have complicated drama....

Very good!

Spoiler

Only thing is the ending. I want more! Though we know everything must end, and though its happily ended, but I still felt unsatisfied. I felt the story could have have an after thought like something that could happen in the future real world. The author could've given them babies! Though I know its cliche but I felt pity when I thought its just the 2 of them growing old. And the author focused too much on both of them. I want to know what happened to others too.

How should I put this? To say that the story is bad will be a bit cruel, but I can't also say that the story is very good. It has a promising idea, but it wasn't executed very well. 50 out of that 59 chapters, I was bored because it's too mundane. Sure, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there's no white lotus sister or c*ckroach-like rotten peach blossoms. However, that pleasantly surprised slowly turned to boredom as time passes by. Is it lighthearted? Maybe, but I really... more>> can't find myself entertain. I even skip or skimmed some chapters because I'm bored. As for the 9 chapters that I wasn't bored? Those are from the beginning and the latter part of the story. The latter part where the plot twist was mentioned was indeed interesting. However, I can compare this story to a full course meal. The appetizer, soup, salad, and the rest were all served but the main course was served only at the very end. The main course looks good but with all the dishes I've eaten, how can I still eat the main course with relish? The story was exactly similar to that. The plot twist was good, but it's held back at the end, that's why the effect that the author probably wanted wasn't achieved.
Spoiler

In this, I'm actually talking about the ML. In this story, he is the most special one. From the moment he appeared, I can actually tell that he's not as simple as he looks. In that case, the author still managed to achieve the mysterious aura lingering around the ML. However, the ML's secret wasn't revealed, not until the latter part, near the end. I guess if the author revealed bits of the ML's secret throughout the story, it'll be better.

[collapse]
In short, it's like a horror movie without those suspenseful sound effects and the ghost just appeared right in front of you. Somewhat surprising but the effect was lessened because there's no foreshadowing or whatsoever.

If the ML was the most special existence here, I can't really say much about the FL. Compared to ML, she's actually very bland. She's just a transmigrator with an indifferent heart, that's it. So, although there's romance, it's rather dull. The ML was persistent and romantic, and the FL was like a turtle who'll immediately hide on her shell. In fact, the Fl's brother and his first love's tragic romance was even more colorful than the MCs romance.

Overall, in this story, aside from the promising idea (which disappointingly only revealed at the end), the translation quality was the most noteworthy. Be it the grammar or words, it's excellent. That's why even if I want to give a 6/10, for the sake of the translation, I'll drop a 7/10. <<less

The translation is good. Sadly, the novel is bland and pointless. Do you like brainless, cliche romance stories? Then you might like this.

It's definitely not my cup of tea. I tried to persist in case it got better... I dropped it at chapter 29 and it was a big effort to get there. This is a fake/real rich daughter trope where everything is perfect, nice family, nice friends and perfect fiancee. The FL is a gorgeous woman, a doctor and freelance writer, who is pursued by a famous, rich ML... more>> with the most tender, seductive peach blossom eyes. The main focus in every single chapter are the parts where the author passionately describes his amazing, irresistible eyes which could reflect the stars, contain galaxies and make everyone dazed... if I read about his eyes again I'm really going to flip the table. Title should be "Perfect peach blossom eyes". Anyways, all the romantic cliche tropes are here. Rich, super handsome, protective ML, hacking skills, piano skills, cooking skills, showing off love, competing with jewelry, red roses, teasing and all the jazz. <<less

The novel is pretty barebones, it has the making of a genuinely good story but it's not fleshed. Honestly, I just got bored. There's no conflict and no resolution, just frosting without cake. And not the good kind of frosting, the overly sweet fondant frosting.

If there was even a smidge of a plot, I'd have liked reading it.

Story rating 2.5/5

Translation 4.5 /5

This novel is barely a novel. I would say that it is an outline of a novel, just the skeleton. There is so much that the author could expand and make it a much fuller, richer story. Expand into their past lives, the Xiao Qi system, even about Su Yue and Ming Xuan and Lu Jing and Xiao Ya pairs. What's the point of having them in the story to go nowhere. Even Su Jin and Lu Xi's story needs more substance. Fill in all... more>> the time skip gaps. <<less

I'm quite disappointed with this because I'm a sucker for plots like this, but it was so boring I barely finished it even though it only has 59 chapters.

FL has as much personality as a rock. She's described as someone with a cold personality, but it's not really shown that well since she doesn't really interact with anyone else besides her family/close ones. I won't say that her interactions with the ML were anything interesting, or fluffy or whatever, I guess it can't be helped since she's not that fascinating.... more>> You know, if the ML wasn't the ML, he'd be a possessive creep with peach blossom eyes. (The author is obsessed with his peach blossom eyes, I counted a chapter where his peach blossom eyes were mentioned 4 times. Did I mention he has peach blossom eyes?) The villains were dealt with pretty quickly, and everything kinda happened really fast without any content going on, sorta lacking in impact if you know what I mean.

The translation is top-notch, so that's a star added, now if only the story was anything good. <<less

The writer is so obsessed with describing physical characteristics. Yes we already knew all the characters are gorgeous af, you don't have to repeat phoenix eyes, peach blossom eyes etc in every paragraph.

The translator team is amazing. I am more excited to read their translating projects next over any other novel from this writer

This author was way too obsessed with the appearance of her leads, especially the shape of their eyes.

As a romance novel it meets the minimum requirements (they get together in the end and the leads actually seem to like each other), but it seems like a lot of the plot-important decisions were made by the ML, and FL was the main viewpoint. Putting the ML as the viewpoint character would have spoiled the twist at the end, but I prefer interesting choices to a mystery.

Instead the plot seems to center... more>> around the FL's slowly softening heart as she opens up to and falls in love with ML. This didn't work for me as most of the time I was wondering why the FL was so suspicious of the ML who was an obvious simp for her. <<less

this review will be a bit shorter because the novel is only 59 chapters but,

I think that shorter novels (especially on this website) are a huge hit-or-miss because it can either be too fast in plot and character or leave the reader unsatisfied, but Perfect Fiancé is well-formed and describes a realistic (well I mean the world is literally novel give me a break here) love and development of character.

when Su Jin focused more on the heart and what the heart wants was something very deep and helped readers... more>> understand why she hesitated so much because form our point we would have jumped his bones a couple of chaps in o~o. I liked it, it was a perfect light read with an intricate understanding of what love could be for them ya know like because there were two different worlds right and I really enjoyed it <3. 4.5/5 stars.

It's a nice, fluffy story with pretty wholesome characters and minimal angst. The families are all supportive, the villains are nothing major, their emotions are straightforward and don't waver. I get the twists behind the true history of both of the main characters, but other than that it was a rather plain story.

There's a lot of description dedicated to the character's face/body/clothes, which is sort-of a nice romantic visual, though I wouldn't count how many times 'peach blossom' and 'pheonix' eyes were described.

I'm slightly confused by the ending...

So they both grow old together. They couldn't have children because they didn't belong to that world? It sounded like she died first, but they knew, so that's why she was telling him to take care of himself? And then he dies? Leaves on a bit of a melancholic note. :[

Wow. I can’t even organize my thoughts right now. This novel is just pure love. I love all the characters. There was no evil mother in law, or evil younger sister, there’s not even much of the jealous fans or girls toward ML. I love how doting everyone is. Omygosh. This is one of the few novels that I will definitely reread! I felt all the love, sacrifices and effort of ML for MC. Ahhhh. I juts love this novel. I’m so glad I gave this a go. No regret.... more>> Such a lovely and heart warming story ?

The novel structure is very good and I really kind of like it. However, the writing or maybe the nature of the MC is kind of bland and plain to me. It's just boring.

Well, although it's not like other's explosive dramas or personalities, it's still a good read.

My cup of tea but also not.
