I enjoyed the novel but I found the baby and turning r*pe into a joke at the end to be distasteful.

Spoiler

I don't see why most relationships need to progress with r*pe over just getting together and with the baby they had no reason to trust it after the first time but it could still do it time and time again.

Another thing I was not a fan of was the zombie awakening in her I think it could have been explained or done better of everything I don't see why it would just be a zombie instinct and not the previous soul (even with no memories).

[collapse]

If the story had some better romance and a little less forced plot I think it could have been a 4 or 5 star. <<less

At first this novel brought me pleasure. The main character is kind and responsible. But with each new hundred chapters, it became increasingly difficult to read it.

The main character wants to protect her loved ones and can do this if she becomes stronger. She can increase her strength and the power of her space, absorbing the cores of zombies and people. But she does this quite rarely and does not try to purposefully hunt in order to become stronger.

I understand that she behaves such way because the author wants to... more>> write more chapters. But when you realize that almost all the problems could be solved by simply strengthening the main character, which is purposefully avoided by the author, all the problems of the main character stop being interesting.

The above is certainly not enough to rate this novel as 1 star. But I did it after I have read 370-388 chapters.

Spoiler

Viney, who lives in the space of MC, wants to get the opportunity to leave the space. For this, it is necessary that MC had s*x with someone and become pregnant. Then Vaini would be reborn as her child. MC does not want to do this yet. Then Viney deceives her and makes it so that MC is r*ped by Wu Chengyue. When MC finds out about this she is angry at Viney, but it says: "Sorry." And MC says: "ok". MC is angry at Viney for "whole" 3-5 minutes and after that she only think how she will meet Wu Chengyue.

I think r*pe is bad. I don't know whether this is behavior of MC or the author but it seems that for them r*pe is normal.

I can not accept such a heroine and therefore such a story.

This is a rather mediocre story. The plot isn’t going anywhere. You would think being turned into a zombie in the apocalypse would force hard decisions, but, nope, the main character is just a nice girl that doesn’t struggle at all. The characters are one-dimensional (either perfectly good or perfectly evil). Entire chapters are nothing but tr*sh talk. Overall, very slow and boring.

I MTLed it to 700+ chapters. It's around 3.5 in my book. While this novel isn't bad, it does suffer from a number of things.

Spoiler

- Too OP MC. Her cheats have cheats, basically. She is presented with challenges but she solves them fairly easily, and tends to let go of guys that will be problematic later on (for plot purposes).

- Uninteresting support characters. Though some do have their own back stories and such, Lin Qiao doesn't rely on them much, so when they appear it's less excitement and more "oh, they're there."

- Lackluster villains. No one is matching up to the MC's powers at this point, she doesn't really have rivals, and the reason for her growth now is to protect her base/family and get revenge. But she can (easily) suppress villains who are a higher level than her with her cheats, so she solves "hard problems" fairly easily.

- Stagnant character growth. Other than "must revenge!" the characters don't change much from when you first meet them. There are basically no world changing relevations that flip their worlds upside down, and if there are events like that, it's mainly part of a back story and not happening at the present. It's not a story where people question the morality of their acts or are forced to make hard decisions.

[collapse]

In the end, I have been pretty entertained with this (though there have been some lulls cuz 700+ chapters is a lot), but if you're expecting a masterpiece then I can only say don't get your hopes up. <<less

"She wakes up only to find herself having become a newborn, superpowered zombie, in a body that used to belong to an evil and notorious woman!"

At first I thought she reincarnated into a literal zombie baby inside a woman's belly... but no, that's not what it was, I misread it even if that might have been exciting. Anyway, our hero transmigrates into the body of a villainess, not a fetus, under crazy circumstances, and then has to figure out how to get by in this unfamiliar, post-apocalyptic hellscape. The story... more>> itself borrows many elements from established works (I think the whole zombie system here is very korean, but I don't know where this style originated) but still turns out to be an enjoyable read, so don't let it bother you. There's action, there's adventure, there's... well, there's no romance... I don't think <ahem> that was very romantic, but we can see hints of where it's going so it's all good.

Thankfully the protagonist, while a bit naive, doesn't seem to be terminally ret*rded like they usually are in these kinds of novels. Plus there's refreshing lack of 'helpless dainty flower that exists to be sexually assaulted' syndrome! Our cute protagonist's bite is worse than her bark (which is also pretty big), and she's not afraid to get muck under her nails to get stronger so she can protect whatever she chooses.

I enjoy it a lot, so I'd say give it a go and see if it's your thing. <<less

Filled with holes like swiss cheese.

the author clearly did not put much thought into this story. He says one thing, then another a few chapters later. Usually the mistakes are minor, but it's still annoying. Ex.; she takes a zombie in her space, drains it from power, then comes out of her space and beheads it in front of qiu lili, but 2 chapters later, she "forgot to take it out".

such mistakes are everywhere.

while the author has talent and can tell a good story, almost everything is improvised, nothing is... more>> planned, no foreshadow whatsoever, which would be ok, if not for the fact that it means that every change in the plot is boring and easily seen through.

expect cliché's such as "oop we just passed each other by taking different roads" "oh noes, we left them behind defenselessly after making a huge enemy, and now they were attacked, who would ever have thought this would happen" and more! Though not too much more, because while not a one-trick pony, the author is not the most imaginative in his plot.

the only interesting thing are the powers, but even that has signs of heavy improvisation and last-minute changes.

I'm honestly a bit disappointed. It could've been so much better, and the author clearly had the talent to do more, since the writing itself is very good, and the things he did put some effort in were interesting. <<less

Underrated - should be just about 4.0 (from my opinion)

A well laid out world plot and a unique twist to the whole story-line where our MC ends up being a zombie due to many 'mysterious' circumstances which further entices the reader to find out (you'll know what I mean when you start reading ^^). ML is also a pretty fleshed out character and down-to-earth in a sense - not overbearing but also not too amiable, just right.

The downside of this novel would truly be the whole concept of 'rape'... more>> and the way it's presented... in addition to sexism of abuse to females (even tho it's the apocalyptic era like still -_-) There was a few r*pe scenes in the novel and it was truly described in a very abusive and disturbing way ie too detailed which only brought discomfort to me as a reader.

Aside from that, romance is pretty damn slow so don't anticipate too much lest being greatly disappointed - not kidding but you would sometimes feel distressed for ML as he spent so much effort chasing but keep being bounced off by the FL (for certain reasons which I won't mention).

All in all 4.0 for me seeing how I've read all the way up the latest updated chapter :I <<less

I like it :)

i don’t like the male lead, but I like it.

I don’t mind that the MC is a people-saver since she still kills people who try to hurt her.

... more>> I also don’t mind that she doesn’t keep leveling up and stalls at power levels.

The subplots are fun for me to read bc it’s how I play a game basically (completing all side quests and getting to know dialogue of random characters instead of getting it on with the main quest).

I also quite like her collection of companions :) and the little quirks they each possess so it isn’t just 1 interesting main character and everyone else in the world is a brain dead groupie. <<less

This is a fun story with a charming MC. It has action, plenty of comedy, ad a dash of mystery. The MC is supposedly a former member of the special forces, and she held a high position. She is powerful and doesn't stand down easily. She remains calm and keeps her wits about her. However, she does not come across as highly intelligent or strategic as one would expect from a military commander. In her defense, she is a dead girl, but I expected more from someone of her level.... more>> The other characters have their own personalities, but not a lot has been done to show their development or depths yet.

Despite the MC's dramatic past, there isn't actually that much drama or suspense in this series. There isn't much warfare or strategic combat.

Although it was fun to read before it went premium, it feels like 90% of the chapters are filler, and I'm not sure they're worth paying for. I considered just reading one chapter every five to ten chapters, but I've decided to drop it in the end instead. It's quite a fun ride until it bogs down, and the plots become drastically slow. I recommend checking out the free chapters and then deciding for yourself if you want to continue it after that. <<less

I think the overall rating at the time of writing this review (3.6) is a bit low. I will recommend everybody who likes zombie/apocalypse stories to give this novel a shot. There are a lot of aspects of the genre that's pretty well done. Its also really not that bad reading from a female POV for people who aren't used to this. The female main character (FMC) is not like tr*sh tier FMC novels where the FMC loses all their brain cells when they meet the main male love interest... more>> because they are too handsome/cool/smart/attractive/etc. The FMC is clever and calculating and its a slow burn romance between her and the male love interest.

The author creates some interesting story lines that are not simply rinse and repeat webnovel fare. The plot is unique and interesting. The author creates characters that are also distinct and interesting in the beginning, it starts to get a little too much to keep track of by ch700 but early on its ok. The author tries hard to give each character some distinct traits to differentiate them.

There are two things to note when reading this novel, if you can get past these two points, its worth a read:

  1. The FMC's cheat powers are way way too OP. She has a combination of super physical abilities such as speed and strength, invisibility, and the ability to teleport herself and other things she touches into a separate dimension. The result is that she is basically invincible verses other humans and zombies that have superpowers such as fire, water, lightning, etc. She can even avoid even lightning with her super speed. She can assassinate super strong characters using her invisibility which is flat out undetectable. She can also teleport enemies into her space, where their powers are weakened by 90% but she's at full power. Basically, she is never in any sort of danger in any situation. The author compensates by putting the suspense on her family and allies and putting them in danger and the FMC has to save them. This can get old and plot starts to get a bit stale later in the story.
  2. The author has various schemes within the story in order to pad the word count. Also every minion level character, ally or enemy, has the magical ability to never understand anything the first time around. They will also repeat the exact same statement as a question. Sometimes minion #2 will even repeat the question. Then their leader will patiently explain it to them like they are children. Another scheme is that the FMC always has to explain her situation to new people she meets because she is unique, a zombie that looks human and can talk. When meeting every new character, there will be half a chapter dedicated to these character acting surprised that she can talk or that she is a zombie when they thought she was human. Then she will explain things to them. These filler strategies get repeated A LOT.
My take on this story is that its unique, the powers are unique, the FMC is pretty clever, the characters are unique and interesting. The novel has a strong beginning as a zombie apocalypse novel. When you get tired of the filler schemes, don't hesitate to skip them, you will not lose out on anything important. Still worth a read for fans of the genre. <<less

The protagonist is a cute dork that is great fun to read about.

Objectively it probably isn't much better than a 4/5, but that's still better than almost any other Chinese web novel I've read.

Equally entertaining and infuriating tbh. It's an entertaining read, worldbuilding is pretty good, has a lot of my favourite troupes. However, although the author feels like they're trying the characters are quite flat and theres **SO MUCH r*pe**. It makes me so mad. It truly should be commended for keeping me reading all 1400+ chapters but at the same time there's so many conflicting feelings lol

Plot: 5/5

We follow MC through several stages of her life, from newborn zombie with a kidnapped girl in her space that spends her time running... more>> away to a powerful & mysterious base leader who leads the world's strongest force. Every stage is overall quite entertaining, the pace of the story is really good and it's honestly quite a fun read. Some loopholes like things she previously did really well she can't do, but that's forgiveable given the sheer length of this story cause I bet author forgot. I'm also not a fan of stories where the MC is *literally* the centre of the world, like the world would not have been able to exist without her & her magical fingers (which is common in apocalypse stories in particular). That's exactly the case here, and honestly it's anti-climatic as a result for no real reason except "wow".

Characters: 3/5

They're quite flat to be honest, even 1000+ chapters later. That said, this is obviously a plot-forward type of story, so normally this would be fine, except I hate the romances here so much. *SO* much. I swear like all but ONE romance in the story of the frequent characters has some form of r*pe. This author is truly terrible at writing romance; fortunately there isn't much of it, and this is coming from someone that quite enjoys romance. Especially for the MC, her own baby (who perfectly matches the "how is he such a genius this is literally just a plotcard for the author to solve every inexplicable problem with) and literally everyone around her just condones and encourages r*pe / drugged s*x. It's supposed to be "cute and funny" but really it just means no one cares about her own person. Which is weird because author tries to make MC fiercely strong&independent too.

In addition to the r*pe elements, there's also some gender stereotypes this story follows so strictly that I truly feel it's either written by a man or a female with internalized misogyny or smth lol, because although the female characters try to be strong & independent sometimes other characters entirely lack IQ and men can only ever see a powerful female and think about how much they want to f*ck her.

I do like a lot of what MC's character is, like how long it took her to accept ML. I think it's ridiculous that author just dropped two tragic past romances to try and explain why she's so against ML lol I think it's perfectly reasonable for people to have other priorities!

In general relationships felt quite flat, like her relationship with her family for instance. She does all the things right and says all the things right, but somehow in the details it feels like it's more a task to her than she truly cares. Some of the decisions are truly infuriating lol

Writing & Translation: 4/5

Overall quite entertaining and light. My problems with the writing I've explained above.

Below is just the random notes I typed as I read the story

Spoiler

- Sometimes conflicting / loopholes; she was previously good at something, but then can't do the thing next time
- Must've been written by a man based on the way that women are sometimes portrayed or men's thoughts are ridiculously lustful. Or a subconscious man-hating women with gender inferiority, because the gender dynamic is so absurd sometimes, almost satirical but the author is serious
- I HATE the viney-manipulated-MC's-rape, they blew it off so easily but she fully manipulated MC who trusted her wholeheartedly to be r*ped?? "For a good cause" but still!! MC was barely even mad afterwards. To be honest I hate everything about her pregnancy, including how her family continually annoys her for it. Later on r*pe even became a joke for most of the other relationships of note, it's ridiculous.
- Speaking of family, she makes excuses but the way she interacted with her family was very off-putting. Also she always says she cares but sometimes really doesn't seem like it because author portrayed it poorly, author bad w relationships
- ML first pursuing MC was also horrible, fortunately it stopped shortly. Even the way he thinks about MC, rather than respect he's just lusty but fearful of her strength. The whole "that's my baby" was also super annoying. Their entire dynamic is so forced I hate it. All the romances, especially theirs, feel so forced by happenstance. I like that it's very "slow" but *every* progess is forced by r*pe (5-6 times, lots of accomplices literally EVERYONE around MC and it's infuriating) or smth equally ridiculous. Persistence is disgusting and annoying, not the key to a relationship!
- Characters overall not developed every well, every single one is very flat including MC's, which is also contradictory. Sometimes she's a soldier seized by justice, sometimes she's utterly cold & heartless, sometimes she's a total pushover. Portrayal very unsatisfying
- I feel so sad for YTX, I feel like in all aspects they should've been together if it weren't for hypocrisy and plot forcing! I also hate that everyone including her hints for them to be together, even if she's not obvious about it. She of all people has no right
- Plot was always interesting but tbh anticlimactic in the end, big monster just ended up tamed by Teng who is some random miracle. I don't like that the entire world is basically reliant on MC&teng to be alive due to their miraculous golden fingers

since in this novel world, it was lack of women & children.. So the villain besides got some of it women but it was mostly guys. Since MC in past life was killed by 7 guys & guess what. 1 of the guys was the beautiful guys & the other 6 guys was his lover. Owh ya the male villain was np lol.. Haha. Besides MC & ML relationship was very lacking, the other character love relationship also as of now no progress. Why the author want me to imagine the villain relationship which also involve in bed matters lol. End of rant as of now

Dropped at chp 1044 because I was getting really sick and tired of the s*upid "baby" constantly scheming to get his "parents" (the MC and ML) together. Even the MC sometimes ignores the "baby" after it's born because of the constant trickery. You can tell that the MC is just not interested in pursuing romance so it's annoying when the baby and the ML keep buzzing around her like flies.

The romance feels too forced. The MC is just trying to protect her family in the zombie apocalypse and get stronger... more>> and the romance is just dragging her down! Yes, the ML is helpful but I still don't like him. Idk why people cannot just let the relationship/friendship proceed gradually? Why are you rushing and forcing it? Annoying <<less

This was an interesting take on things, I mean it might not be the first time the MC is a zombie, but certainly the first time i've seen a zombie and human have a baby together.

Anyway, it was an interesting read, some things I don't like, but there are more things that are interesting and funny to make up for it...I would say that everything was very smooth for the most part, there are little hiccups here and there but not what I would call an obstacle for the... more>> MC at all.

So far, the novel has been quite enjoyable to read. I've read quite a few apocalyptic novels and I'd say that this one is pretty high up there. The author has talent and have a broad imagination but this story made me enjoy for the hundreds of chapter but when I read the 500+chaps I was so disappointed because it's a avery slow romance. I don't like the way the author portrays character as the way they were.
