This is the first Chinese novel I read and got me hooked up. The characters are engaging as well as the plot. Looking forward to reading more chapters... ?

I got a little impatient and read the raws ahead but stopped when Jun Wu Xie reaches the upper realms and started conquering the 72 cities and became overlord. I was thinking of waiting for the author to release more chapters before continuing. Nevertheless, it didn't stop me from re-reading This novel from Chapter 1 over and over again. I do have... more>> fave parts like how she helped the Crown Prince ascended the throne, how she became the Fire Nation's Emperor, their journey in the bottom of the cliff towards the Jun Wu Yao' Tomb and the heartbreaking arc of losing their master and teacher.

Keep up the good work! Kudos to Misty Cloud Translations.?? <<less

I really love this novel. I love it so much I tried to learn Chinese just to read the raws (so far I'm unsuccessful). This novel is amazing but

it has 2 huge problems that gets me frustrated.

1. At first the chapters are super long you can take a quick shower, dress up, eat breakfast, go to school/work, come home, change, eat dinner, take a walk, go to bed and your done reading the same chapter. Yay!

But as the story goes on you will soon notice with just a blink of... more>> an eye BAMB you are done reading 3 chapters. How crazy is that? Of course, the translators update regularly (props to them) but what's the point when the chapters are at most 3 to 6 short paragraphs?

Would recommend to wait until at least 20 chapters are out before binge reading. By the 800th chapter (I think) the word count can be counted with my two hands and feet. Lol no joke.

2. There really isn't much romance. If you count a male lead that is hardly there as a male lead for the main character then I don't know what to say. The supposed "male lead" is drop dead gorgeous and strong but either than that the romance between him and the MC is rather forced. The author tried too hard and made the forced romance develop too quickly. As a result the male lead came off as desperate, clingy and creepy. Kinda like a stalker. In some way his actions are cute and sweet but if you think about it uhh no he is just taking advantage of the mc's innocence.

Now that I got that off my chest. The MC like others have stated is anti social, calm, and ruthless when it comes to her enemies. For me the MC is likable because she's in her own world most of the time and does not act irrational. She can be naive when it comes to the mail lead and her emotions but her cuteness makes up for it.

I would definitely recommend giving this novel a try. Story wise it gets better but beware of shorter chapters. <<less

In a world flooded with Ultra competent Chinese female reincarnates into fantasy china world as a formerly ret*rded child hated by all, This one is by far one of the best.

What we have here, is an MC who is cold, socially awkward, and ruthless in the pursuit of her meager goals. She doesn't want fame, or to be the best alchemist, mage, fighter, cultivator, blacksmith, belly dancer, magus, witch, whatever. She just wants to live with her family in relative peace.

unlike some other novels in the same genre (I'm looking... more>> at you The Demonic King Chases His Wife: The Rebellious Good-for-Nothing Miss) she isn't really hated, just looked down upon a bit early on. She's not surrounded by tons of people who just irrationally hate her for no reason. And unlike other novels in this genre, she is actually, ultra competent, and doesn't have the mentality of a hormone driven 12 year old.

The MC is socially awkward, she doesn't like talking, she struggles to show her own feelings, and shes content to be her own company. Shes also ruthless, she'll do anything in pursuit of her goals, but she'll only harm others if they show her ill will first, she isn't a psycho. <<less

Keep in mind that I'm not that far in the story.. But considering that I don't intend on reading any further, what the hell..

I know that this is not supposed to be a cultivation novel, but there's a difference between not focusing on cultivation and being downright sloppy..

The cultivation in this novel is literally just about your energy changing colour.. That's all.. You do some kegels, and you move up on the RGB power spectrum.. The MC has a very unique way of cultivating too.. She just puts her annoying... more>> af spirit baby into a bucket of Captain Morgan, and that's it.. Her cultivation is essentially a cookie clicker that runs in the background so that she has more time to have borderline cringy interactions with Edward "the rock" Hogan, the emo yet incredibly muscular vampire, who would do anything for her, because she lent him about three fiddy for bus that one time..

The author also feels the need to constantly remind you just how amazing the MC is, because she doesn't really do anything most of the time.. I mean.. She does stuff all the time, but when it comes down to it, she just sends her owerpowered dude to deal with it.

The main problem I have with this novel are the not-believable and unnatural interpersonal interactions.. Everyones motivations are incredibly vague, and especially Carlos, the raunchy gardener (the male lead) is essentially only doing stuff for the lulz.. + The MC is one of those.. You know them.. The characters that can slay gods and devils by pulling quilin horns and phoenix feathers out of their a**hole. You can tell that much like 50 shades of grey, the author is just translating his/her s*xual frustration and longing to get slam jammed by a jacked dude of questionable origins into this work.. Even you, as the reader can feel the s*xual tension.. You're constantly tense, becouse you're unsure wether you can handle another poorly written s*xual scene, hoping that it will never come.. But it will.. Again, and again, and again.. And again... <<less

First off, this is a transmigration novel with another "peerless genius from another world trying to become strong" armor plot. The MC has low EQ, high IQ, and basically a tsundere (cold on outside but warm on inside).

Secondly, the plot is fairly slow, but it does move along with intelligent behind the scene machinations from our MC and lovable male lead who is no surprise, a super powerful person and fell in love at first sight with MC. Good thing is the male lead is not one of those a**... more>> holes that keep on trying to tease the MC and anger her to death or those ultra controlling types.

And finally, THERE ARE CUTE FLUFFY BEASTS/ANIMALS IN THE STORY. Literally the only thing in the story that is keeping me from being bored. I live for those tiny scenes when the fluffy loyal creatures get their screen time in the novel.

Overall, the plot is fairly interesting with good character development, so it's an enjoyable read to pass the time. <<less

Honestly, I haven't read such a fulfilling novel until I read this one. It's a wonderful storyline, great characters and updates so fast!!! It's humorous and gets all of your emotions going. There are tons of time where you feel rage because of some things the antagonists do, but the main character always slaps them back so hard. I scream every time I see this novel is updated cause I love it so much!! Don't knock it till you try it cause it gets really really good!

I feel like have a baby.

Jun Wu Xie at first dont know how to interact with other people, how to show emotion and has no one precious to her.

And now it change. I see a well development to her, and every change of her make me proud and happy, like to see my own kis grown to be a grown lady.

This was well writed with no boring chapter and many mindblowing twist. I love how they first show slow love progress with logical set-up, but then running with fast pace.

My personal comment is, there is not much plot hole. The unspoken things were left for reader to think. Not everything need to be cleared, as the author had left quite lot of hint. So be smart reader guys. If you love how smart the MC is, then try to be like her.

So I just have to say something here regarding a previous review made.

By no means the ML went over the top. If you have read more chapters you would know that he respects her. I guess the ML is one of the typical sort of sweet towards MC and cold towards others kind, but he is one of the flirty teasing types and in my opinion he is just a support with the MC not relying on him much.

I guess this novel may not be your cup of tea but... more>> I don't think the amount of chapters you've read give a clear view on the ML since he only appears occasionally until the recent chapters. I respect your opinion and I just want to give mine.

So onto my review:

Yes this is a typical transmigration novel with MC being sort of OP (medical skill-wise and with the usual golden finger which is her spirit) but she does work hard. She may have a skewed view on reality and she acknowledges that. She might be a bit naive in terms of emotions but considering her past its justifiable.

The characters are very enjoyable. I love that she doesn't rely on the ML much and that she knows to use her resources instead of the typical MC who wouldn't be able to accept it because of her personality and stuff. She knows her priorities and her goals are pure. She knows she isn't that powerful but circumstances lead her to strive but she only wants peace.

The translation is done really well. I applaud the translator for this.

There are a lot of chapters (3000+ overall) so be prepared but they are fairly short. It's one of those novels (for me at least) that once you started you couldn't put it down.

The plot flows really smoothly and although it may be predictable at this point it's still engaging. It is one of those typical transmigration novels but with a bit uniqueness and charm to it. It tends to be more on the realistic side with a bit cynicism mixed in.

Romance is slow here folks but we do get some good natured teasing every now and then which doesn't make it all that bland. And when the romance finally starts to progress it's really cute.

It does have a few holes here and there but nothing too major.

All in all rating is 4.5/5 rounded to 5 <<less

So far, this has been very entertaining. I'm giving it 4 stars for now but could go higher depending on how the story develops from here. Pros:
- The best part of all is the pacing -- I read up to "chapter" 159 all in one day. The author is really great at keeping the story moving along and there weren't any chapters that felt like "filler."
- The translation quality is also quite good.
- The plot isn't that unique, but the execution is better and more realistic than... more>> a lot of other "cold-hearted heroine reincarnates as an OP young miss" stories.
- The romance is developing very slowly, which I see as a plus. Some people might not like that, but I think it makes the story more believable.
- The many other male side characters (there's only one other female) are all portrayed pretty clearly and don't suffer from the usual 2-D descriptions in stories like this -- they all have their own roles and personalities, and seem more like real people. Even the villains aren't that bad. Cons:
- She's still an "OP young miss" - aka beautiful, extremely intelligent, super fast cultivation speed, various cheat spirit sidekicks, and godly too-easy medical skills. However, this character is a lot less brazenly arrogant than a lot of similar characters, and is more subdued until she gets really pissed off later in the story, which I like.
- The "chapters" are sometimes very short compared to other Chinese light novels.
- The main male love interest, despite being mysterious, dangerous, loyal, and oh so sexy, isn't very well developed at this time. He's kind of just a vague hot guy who flirts with her.

TL;DR:
Read this if you're looking for a fun, fast-paced, well-written story with an intelligent female lead. Don't expect lots of romance until much later on.

UPDATE:
I dropped this down from 4 stars to 3 stars because of how the story has been going lately. I was on board with her being a genius doctor -- it's right there in the title. But when she started actually fighting -- suddenly she's a genius at not only doctor-ing, but ALSO fighting, cultivating, throwing needles, pulling bottles of medicine out of thin air, and both of her spirits are STRONGER THAN ALL OTHER SPIRITS IN THE SAME WORLD. Seriously, it's not the usual over-powered level jump (where a low-leveled MC beats a villain 1 or 2 levels stronger than them). She legit goes from Rank 1, to Rank 2, to beating multiple villains who are 3-5 ranks higher than her (and it's said that most people spend decades just to go up one rank).
Also, before she was just cold, intelligent, and confident -- but now she's flat out arrogant/demanding.

I don't know if I just didn't notice because I'm reading the couple-paragraph short chapters one at a time as they're released now. But it's getting kind of ridiculous. <<less

This story actually have a very good basic plot and the storyline is also pretty good for a story that has a long plot.

But behind the good point that this story have, there is a lot weakness to... Like the plot armor that getting strong and stronger at the end of the story, or about a lot of side character who not getting good explaination about their relationship in the end of story.

Well it seems like the author is only care about MC and ML story, and throw away another... more>> side character story in the end. <<less

This is a wildly entertaining novel. It's more of a cultivation/fantasy novel, and as the heroine (MC) travels to different places, there are new plots and characters, and an overarching destiny. It has its faults, but I read 1969 chapters (so far) straight, the world building is so good.

The heroine spent her childhood confined to a forest hut learning medicine. As a result she is a medical genius, but almost autistic-EQ challenged when it comes to people. After she escapes, she spends her adulthood at a mysterious assassin organization. Her... more>> personality is cold, logical, but when she meets people who are kind and loving to her, she reciprocates a hundred fold.

The story really begins with her transmigration into a new fantasy world. So far, there is a Lower Realm, and a Middle Realm. There are several hundred chapters for each story arc, which are usually separated by location -
Spoiler

Lower Realm (first 1468 chapters) : Qi Country, Qing Yun Clan, Phoenix Academy, Zephyr Academy, Fire Country, Thousand Beast Country, back to Qi Country, Dark Emperor's Tomb, the entire Lower Realm against the Poison Men Army; - Middle Realm (1468 chapters onwards (I'm only up to chapter 1969 so far)) : Cloud Brook Academy, Pure Grace Palace, Shadow Moon Palace, Spirit World....I'm guessing that there should be visits to the Dark Region and the Upper Realm before the story ends....

[collapse]

In the first story arc, after transmigration, the heroine is the young tr*sh miss of the declining Jun military family. Her grandfather and uncle love her unreservedly, and she learns what family means for the first time. To protect her Jun family, she
Spoiler

overthrows the Emperor of Qi Country, installs her own allies, rearranges countries, etc.

[collapse]
and levels up her power to protect them.

Her love interest is the
Spoiler

Dark Emperor, whom she rescues in the first few chapters. He has his own plots to deal with, so he is often absent from her side. In spite of his famed power, he has been presumed dead for ages and is hiding low.

[collapse]
In the beginning, he's more affectionate towards her (she's quite the icicle), but she figures out her feelings and starts to discomfit him back with her skinship. The plot moves quickly, but their romance is still very slow although she is an adult now. The heroine is committed to becoming as powerful as possible on her own in order to stand by his side and protect her family.

In the beginning, it is easy to empathize with the heroine because we read her thoughts and emotions as she adjusts to her new transmigrated reality and tries to protect her people. Occasionally her loved ones or friends get hurt, and this serves as a plot device for her to get bloody revenge. However, as the plot spirals bigger and bigger, and she levels up, she becomes more omniscient and omnipotent. She has a very strong personality, genius intellect, excellent at scheming huge plots, and can be a bit clueless in her personal life. Eventually, most of the chapters describe the characters and plots around her, and at the end of every story arc, she unveils her absolute mastery of the situation and winds everything up satisfactorily. She is still cold and calm in nature, and her mannerisms hide her kind heart. So while I feel more distant from the heroine as the story progresses (she becomes increasingly an icy enigma because the story goes into overdrive and there is so much action, the story no longer focuses on her internal thoughts), the plot and world-building are so interesting, I just keep reading.

I think this paragraph describes the heroine best: "Towards people she wanted to kill, she could be completely heartless and merciless without even batting an eyelid. But if it was someone whom she did not mean to implicate, her heart would still retain a tinge of benevolence. Though she was said to be cold, but hidden inside her, was a big warm heart."

Because each story arc is in a different location, the story stays fresh, even through some repetitive parts. The heroine enters a new academy/country/Palace in disguise (usually a male disguise, so people think she's a small scrawny fellow who can be overlooked/picked on), figures out the abuse going on, plots, and cleans out all the muck and leaves behind a better/unified place. So far, each villain is dealt with summarily at the end of each story arc, so there's a mostly new cast of characters at each story arc, with some familiar faces. I have to say, the animals are hilarious.

There are some very gory violent battles/torture/injuries of the story (not as much as other long fantasy novels, but more than usual light novels), one instance of
Spoiler

prison gang r*pe, and two, possibly three, characters who suffered child s*xual abuse

[collapse]
. The s*xual violence is described in very vague terms, like, the heroine hating it when females were "bullied" or "humiliated", or one character was that lord's "person" and was sent to his bedchambers... so while the actual incident is awful (and I would have preferred for it to not be included at all in the story), the description is subtle. The predators are all dealt with in very bloody ways.

The heroine can be absolutely bloodthirsty and annihilate a lot of people in revenge (which itself is always a big plot hole, because they could have innocent relatives who want to hurt her back, but this is fiction, after all). There are also large scale wars and battles and lots of nameless (and some helpless) people die in the story. But so far, all the important good characters
Spoiler

remain alive, and the heroine works to help them level up in strength too.

[collapse]

The translation is great, but the entire translation was recently moved to webnovel. com. Further, it just recently became locked content, only to be unlocked with the use of "spirit stones" that you can pay for, or attain with regular checking-in on the website. So far, it's up to chapter 1202 on web novel. com

There are also major time skips. For example,
Spoiler

they spend a year in the Dark Emperor's tomb and emerge powerful fighters. They spend a year fighting wars to eradicate the Poison Men. She spends half a year at the Shadow Moon Palace, and another half a year cultivating in the Spirit World forest.

[collapse]
So major events can be quickly glossed over and the plot jumps ahead.

In chapter 1884,
Spoiler

almost all her loved ones from the Lower Realm come to the Middle Realm at her call. So awesome.

[collapse]

There are plot holes
Spoiler

(the biggest one for me is that if she loves her grandfather that much, maybe she should visit him once in a while stealthily since he is so old, rather than pursuing power far away in order to protect him and not visiting him at all?),

[collapse]
but I just keep reading and enjoying the world building.

This story is also linked in small ways to the Good For Nothing Seventh Young Lady, which I haven't read yet. "Chapter 2082..."Lockpicking was taught to me by someone else and if you want to thank, then thank that imbecile called Shen Yan Xiao." I read somewhere that in the other novel, it's explained that both heroines were in the mysterious organization together in the modern world before they both transmigrated in their respective storylines.

So if you read this for pure entertainment value, overlook the character/plot flaws, suspend your disbelief, and enjoy massive face-slapping revenge plots, it's well worth a read. <<less

So, this is the 2nd novel from the author and book 2 of The Good For Nothing Seventh Young Lady, tho it can be read as a stand alone. But if you have read Book the books, you'll understand the whole thing a bit better. Anyways, the style of writing of the author did improve in this book, considering that this is her second work, but at the same time detoriated as well. Ofc this is one of the best books you'll find in this genre but it has its... more>> flaws.

The romance here is a bit rushed, tbh, and it didn't feel as natural as it felt in the first book GFNSYL, but it's still quite cute. Don't let our reviews distract you, it's NOT love at first sight. The main characters are pretty fleshed out, but the side characters are not, again where it doesn't compare with GFNSYL, where I felt that even the side-characters could be the main heroes of their own novels.

The ending is also a bit rushed, and she leveled up a bit too quickly at the end- it just felt as if the author was tired of writing it, and I kinda disliked the last chapters a bit. So if you can ignore the last few chapters, then definitely read it since I pretty much enjoyed the whole novel before. <<less

LOVE LOVE this novel. This is probably the only long novel that I've finished (all 3123 chapters) ! This and Bewitching Prince Spoils His Wife, which is itself an ongoing series so can't really say I've finished that.

First off, this has all the things I look for in novels. An OP MC. A super strong, not whiny MC. A good support system for the MC. A strong ML who actually loves and supports the MC. THANK YOU!

I definitely teared up violently a few times at the end of the novel.... more>> The romance might be slow, but there is *obvious progress*!! And when the MC realizes that she loves the ML, she immediately takes charge and chases after him which is total props. I've seen comparisons of this MC to the ice block of The Captivating Crown Prince but this MC is just so much better bc it's not that she has a icy heart but that she doesn't really understand human emotions and just needs to slowly learn about them. She doesn't need her 5 MLs to suffer for years before she finally gives them love. Basically no relationship drama except for when the MC and ML are separated which is BEAUTIFUL.

Plowing through MTL of the raws for thousands of chapters isn't the most ideal situation, but this book was totally worth it. I actually read the Good for Nothing Seventh Young Lady (the prequel) after this, and didn't enjoy that bc I kept getting angry about them dissing the amazing ML as Satan in that novel. Plus the timing between these two novels just doesn't make sense. But anyways this novel is amazing and if you get past some of the boring parts and maybe some plot holes here or there and just appreciate the MC and ML and their friends, you will get major feels. <<less

Entertaining but not much different than your typical OP MC transmigration novel.

The ML is OP. Like, SUPER OP. Any magical artefact the MC wants but cannot get or any person she wants to kill but isn't strong enough to, the ML takes care of for her. He's basically her ultimate cheat card, more so than her physique and healing capabilities. Which makes the story super boring since you know that whenever the MC is in a dangerous situation, the ML will just swoop in and save her, which takes most... more>> of the excitement out of the story.

Not a bad story but nothing to write home about. <<less

Within the "female reincarnated/transmigrated into ancient xuanhuan world" trope, this is by far the best (completed) novel. The story has depth, the FL actually grows and has a personality, and best of all, the ML takes on more of a supporting role rather than acting supremely overbearing and clearing the way all the time.

Definitely recommended. Character development is realistic, and the plot is well-written. I've actually read through the raws (all 3000 chapters) twice - it's that good!

I find it a quite mediocre novel. It started promising but soon went downhill. For me, the biggest problem is the female lead' s personality. She is too arrogant and conceited becoming OP too quickly thanks to her "magical" pills. The male lead does not have a shred of personality for the first 200 characters, later I don't know as I dropped the novel. He immediately becomes interested in the protagonist, sticks to her creepyly appearing beside her, hugs her, sometimes killing people when he is in a good mood.... more>> I think the author wanted him to be mysterious, but I perceive him as an insipid, thoughtless character. It is a constant for the novel not having characters with defined personalities, side characters are caricatures without brain, unable to scheme or think about decent plans. The only praise can go to the translator and his/her dedication in translating a novel so long. <<less

It's honestly quite good at first, but when we hit the 800 chapter mark, things get quite repetitive and boring, now even tedious to read now that I'm at 927 chappies. The main character is still plain emotionless and cold blooded, the ML disappears randomly all the damn time, and her getting underestimated in various instances is, again, repetitive. This can certainly be for you if you can look past this issue, but it can get boring after a while causing you to put off reading more chapters.
