After receiving his terminal illness diagnosis, Chu Xun could finally let go of everything. The most important thing of being alive is after all, one’s own happiness.

Dumping a jerk, getting back at his as*hole colleagues, firing his dumbass boss, staying in a luxurious house, enjoying a feast and bedding a young, energetic and handsome guy—Chu Xun very coolly did what he didn’t dare to do in the past!

All his savings were spent and as he laid down waiting for his death, the doctor apologetically told him, “I’m so sorry, we misdiagnosed you.”

“…” Chu Xun felt faint.

He did another checkup and thought, he did feel unwell recently though?

The doctor looked grim.

Chu Xun’s heart skipped a beat. “Don’t tell me it wasn’t a misdiagnosis after all. Am I sick?”

Doctor: “You do not have a terminal illness, but you are… You are pregnant.”

Chu Xun: “???” Ermm, he’s a guy?

And later, the child’s father, that young, energetic and handsome man, who also happened to be a 26-year-old billionaire, Lin Yanchen, appeared and handed out a marriage certificate already signed by him. “I’ll take responsibility. Let’s get married.”

Chu Xun only realised now that his 30-years-late love life, as though blooming blossoms, was flooding in.

Recommended to read!!! The main reason, this book is good, is because there is no stress when you read this. It was a smooth sailing through the whole book.

The ML and MC meet each other coincidentally. Then they fell in love. Even after sometime when they meet again after their separation, they were able to rekindle the old flames, or you can say the flames were always there. It was just that the person was missing. There were many heartwarming family scenes and there were no drama at all. The... more>> child was so cute.

All in all, this novel is quite good to relax your mind. <<less

I haven't read too far into the series, but I am really enjoying the MC and ML's interactions. From what I can understand through MTL, MC, believing that he was going to die, decides to live the rest of his life to the fullest. For 10 years, he stayed with his so-called "best friend" because he liked him and was willing to do anything for him for free, such as running errands and doing chores. He asks for small things in return like celebrating birthdays, but this "best friend" of... more>> his always replies with "Oh, I forgot." MC lived in a relatively conservative household, and due to his feelings towards this "best friend" and his desire to avoid blind dates, he admitted that he liked men and was disowned. He was essentially the hardest working person at his company, where he worked for 7 years, and was tired of babying his boss.

Spoiler

As stated in the summary, he leaves these shackles behind and decides to take all of his savings and spend them on anything he could think of. One of which is s*x. Hahaha. He regrets that he was never really intimate with anyone and hires ML, who was drunk at the time and stumbled upon MC's hotel room, to be his lover for a month. ML finds that MC was quite interesting. MC seems conservative but at the same time, quite wild. One of the first things that MC asks for was to go skydiving! LOL. Later on, MC and ML go to Las Vegas. Normally, the routine would be MC making the request to go to certain places and ML would comply to them. MC makes it a secret that he is going to a strip club and gets ML really jealous. I think MC was going to throw money at the boys on stage, but ML stops him, saying something along the lines of "You have me in front of you. I am better than those boys!" Even after leaving, MC is still thinking about touching their bodies. When ML stopped him, one of the boys called him onto the stage, but ML took MC away. ML was like, "You're still thinking about them, aren't you?"

There are sweet moments though. MC truly wants to be with someone he loves and keeps thinking how he hoped that was true in his next life. When they went to Las Vegas, MC asks to go to the marriage office to get a certificate. He wants to have it to look at when he flies back home. He wants to have it cremated with him when he dies... When he sleeps, he would get nightmares about being ridiculed for liking men, and cries, which distresses the ML. ML wants to get closer to MC, but MC wants to keep some distance because I think he doesn't believe that ML really likes him. MC thinks that ML is only keeping up the image of a lover because he paid him off (but ML is already rich.)

Really cute series so far. It's worth a try! <<less

I think the summary is a little misleading. Unlike how the summary makes it seem, this isn't a pregnancy story where fluff happens while the MC is pregnant. In fact, ML only finds MC, or to be exact, MC manages to contact ML a couple of months after the Little Bun's birth. The MC is your true career man. He isn't OP or godlike in his business skills, but just realistically good at it. He doesn't work for some kind of fame or reputation, he just is a hard working... more>> and conscientious person who lives to fulfill his duty as a person of society lol. He likes working, he ain't no kept man. ML also understands this and does no powermove to have him work for him. They separate work from private affairs and maintains the power balance in the relationship.

The story focuses on how the couple falls in love within the month they are together, and after their separation, everything basically clicks into place. On one hand, some may think it lacks tension (dogblood drama), but on another hand, it's a testament to how all the characters are humane and mature. No one dimensional side characters, even the lazy-ass boss in the summary turns out to be very interesting.

As for the main villain, it's the MC's first love, but he manages to fade into the background. He still manages to commit a grave wrong in the story, but it isn't so consequential.

It's actually quite refreshing to see a couple who just ignores unnecessary drama and just dives back into each other's arms with a snap of a finger lol. No dragged on misunderstandings other than the what's already given in the summary. A decent light read.

First, I like the ML... IDK, I have a weakness for the puppy-type gongs so I adore the characters already. A gong that looks cold at first glance but blushes in front of his little shou. Isn't he precious? As for the plot; basically shou thought he was dying so he decided to throw his doormat self off and splurged his savings on a rent boy. In comes a similarly frustrated rich boy (ML) who wanted a difference and pretended to be the prostitute instead. They developed feelings tho and... more>>

Spoiler

the ML intended to admit his identity but the MC, who already had a hunch does not want to hear it bcos he knew it was useless since he's dying. He disappeared to some China countryside and intended to silently fade away but instead found out his weird constitution and is already pregnant. His own misunderstanding of his body's condition resulted in the month-long misunderstanding between the pair. However after that, it became a warm family drama with parents and friends learning about them. And oh, abundant dog food in the middle of it for the poor single dog friends and acquaintances.

[collapse]

The drama is present but not to the point of being dog blood. (some other reviewer find it as dog blood but as a dog blood fan this story isn't that much of a drama to become dog blood... I don't think so) Instead, I find those drama parts touching since the plot is more about acceptance and family love so I'm pretty sure it's not just me who shed tears on the parents altercation part. Only downside for me is that there's not much appearance of the little bun. <<less

I really wanted to like this because in the start MC and ML's relationship is really sweet but I was disappointed with how the author chose to create more "plot, " if you can even call it that. But really, it's misunderstanding after misunderstanding; one avoidable mistake after another!

I like drama and even a bit of tragedy, (anything that get the tear ducts working) which there is plenty of, BUT I don't like s*upid, dog-blood scenarios!!!

It's a good romance story. Definitely not too much unnecessary drama and cliche plot. Fluff and sweet! And I absolutely agree that it did a big damage to mentality over us, the single dog society.... sigh.

It has the sama taste as Begging You to break off this engagement for me. Though the plot and the setting are different, but the sweetness and the overflowing love and care the gong has for the shou are the same! It has the same color I think?

One thing I don't like is, MC running... more>> away with the baby. I just really, really dislike this old scenario. So I stopped at this point. My rating is given solely to the ML. <<less

First of all, let's appreciate the author who can mix tragedy and comedy genres really well.

The first time I read the story I didn't really have much hope for it. This is because I read a lot of comments before reading the story, and most of comments say that this story has a lot of humor. So I thought that this story would only contain cute and fluffy things.

BUT I WAS TOTALLY WRONG!!!

Because this story is kind of a roller coaster story.

MC : ... more>>
Spoiler

Our MC is someone who is stuck in a one sided love, and not only that he has also been used as a spare tire for over ten years. He also broke up with his parents for more than 5 years, because he admitted to his parents that he was gay.

[collapse]

ML :
Spoiler

While our ML is someone who has a bad relationship with her father, this is also actually due to the lack of communication between the two and also due to ML's rebellious nature.

[collapse]

Besides the two of them, there are also some characters who have a lot of problems, an easy example is ML's father.

Spoiler

In my opinion, of all the characters, ML's father is one of the most tragic characters and also the character who makes the most sacrifices. He truly loved his son so much that he could sacrifice everything he had for him.

If you ask me, I actually a little bit dislike ML Character for what he did to his father.

[collapse]

Back on topic, why do I say it's a comedy? This is because the meeting of MC and ML is really ridiculous.
Spoiler

MC thought ML was a hired prostitute, and paid him 300 thousand dollars to accompany him for a month.

[collapse]

And why is it a tragedy?
Spoiler

This is related to the misdiagnosed MC disease mentioned in synopsis.

Maybe in the synopsis the misdiagnosed MC is told like something short and funny.

But the truth is it's not as funny as it was in the synopsis.

The story of MC when he found out that he was sick was very sad. Especially when he finally chose to break his relationship with ML because he didn't want ML to see him sick and dead.

Not to mention when MC meeting again with his parents, and the struggle of his parents to treat MC no matter how much it costs.

[collapse]

Last, For all of you who are still unsure whether to read this story or not due to some hate comments. Then I would say ignore them.

One of the most popular hate comments I've seen is the one that talks about the MC's attitude towards ML.

So I stated there was nothing wrong with MC's attitude towards ML
Spoiler

When they first met the reason MC's left ML was because he knows that ML is traumatized, which is because he saw the death of his sick mother. So he finally chose to leave because he didn't want ML to see him die, and become traumatized again.

And about marriage things.

There are also several reasons why MC doesn't marry ML directly :

First, that is due to their age difference (5 years). MC feels that ML still has a free spirit and doesn't want him to feel constrained and regret after their marriage (MC said this himself in several chapters near their wedding day).

There is also problem with the different backgrounds that MC and ML have, MC's first love experience where he was used as a spare tire for 10 years, and the same gender things that makes MC feel a very high level of insecurity.

Which is actually normal, Because ML is too extraordinary while MC is actually only considered as a normal handsome man who from an ordinary family.

[collapse]

Btw I can't find the raw source for the extra chapter, if someone finds or knows the link please dm me T-T. <<less

I saw some other reviews that claim that there were s*upid misunderstandings and stuff but.. No it doesn't. In my opinion, the MC's reaction towards these 'misunderstandings' were perfectly rational and within his character. Plus, it's only natural that there would be misunderstandings and things that that they had to deal with because they were finally starting a serious relationship. They needed to build trust with each other.

It's the review from idkvan that exaggerated how the MC reacted when those 'misunderstandings' occurred. It made him sound like one of those... more>> wives that act overdramatic in front of their husbands. The review is total bs btw.

Spoiler

I know I still haven't read the whole novel yet but right now, what's being focused on is not just the relationship between MC and ML but their life outside the dream-like state it was when MC thought he was gonna die at the start at the novel and started living like each day was his last. Now that he knows he isn't gonna die and he got his lover back, they have to deal with their work, their family, their freaking baby (which I don't blame the ML for being too inexperienced in btw. He's a bit immature about it now but you gotta wait for him to grow) and ofc their personal relationship.

[collapse]

Their isn't much drama atm. The angst only really lasted till the part where he found out he wasn't going to die.

Spoiler

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with how their reunion went but I can't say I expected much either. Their relationship is realistic in the aspect of the couple's interactions

[collapse]

I gave it a four star because this isn't really the type of genre I like to read. I mostly read it when I have the time and I just happened to have all the time in the world today. I understand if this isn't really up to people's alleys because it kinda seems like a slice of life romance anime. That's all, I guess. Thanks for taking your time to read this <<less

I really enjoyed the beginning of this novel but then the author developed water in their brain and decided to make up new plot points and destroyed an otherwise good story. The author created s*upid misunderstanding after misunderstanding for no real good reason. I am a fan of a little angst and melodrama HOWEVER the way the author developed the misunderstandings is really dumb. The MC is one of the most unlikeable characters ever.

Spoiler

The MC learns that he actually isn't going to die but have a baby and yet keeps it from the ML because he claims he can't find him, which is dumb considering he didnt even really search AT ALL. Fast forward a long ass time the ML stumbles upon the fact he is a father and tries to make moves to be closer to his child and the MC that live in another city yet the MC despises him for it. Like... what???? The MC makes so much needed drama and misunderstandings, I feel bad for ML. These are just two examples, dumb misunderstandings KEEP HAPPENING. Like the ML gets photographed next to a woman. OH HE MUST BE CHEATING. Like wtf???

[collapse]

I had to add the misunderstandings tags because I want the next reader to know what they are in for when they read this story. I wouldn't have read this if I knew !!! <<less

Is this novel perfect? Not at all. If you start digging, there are quite a few slips and stumbles in it. But after reading it, I don't have any wish to dig. I cried, I laughed, I worried about the characters, I was happy for them (and I read it to the end without being bored, which is more than I can say about a lot of novels).

It is probably one of the few novels where I wholeheartedly love the ML. He is such a good guy, a sincere, kind... more>> and sweet guy. My heart is breaking for him even more than for the MC. Well, everything was fine in the end but I feel for him and for what he suffered. Although I'm not quite sure, is it so difficult to find a person in China? Okay, never mind, I'm not criticizing.

I don't feel anything was wring with the MC either. I loved him, too, I cried a lot at some moments of the story... those partings... and his family... and I don't think he really didn't do enough, as soon as he could, he let the ML know.

Anyway, for me it was a very positive book with just the right amount of angst not to be too angsty. Some sweet crying is very enjoyable. <<less

5.0/5* RECOMMEND

This was such an amazing read!! It was mostly fluff, but combined with heart break. I needed a tissue several time.

Premise: MC thought he had a terminal illness, quit job and friends and intends to spend most of his savings. As a 30y old virg*n he ordered himself the no 1 male escort while treating himself to the presidential suite in a 5* hotel. ML accidentally went to the wrong room whilst drunk and was misunderstood to be the male escort. ML liked MC at first sight and agreed... more>> to be hired to accompany MC for a whole month whilst MC checks everything on his bucket list. They traveled to US, canada and Europe and fell for eachother. Though ML pretends to be the male escort MC wasnt s*upid and already guessed that he must a rich young master, but both kept pretending. ML didn't know MC was ill.

1. The start of this novel is superb! No tedious waiting, but instant romance, fluff and so bittersweet. It was so incredibly sweet and beautiful how cp spent their month together, falling in love, whilst having lots of s*x. At the same time there was this sad and bittersweet feeling as we know that this was only for 1 month.

2. ML is a young guy, 25y old. Super handsome and boyish. He reminds a lot of Luo Binghe from SVSSS. Such a cutie, but very manly, filthy rich and powerful at same time. Also super jealous like our Binghe. He is such a goner, hahaha. He is very free with his emotions, crying buckets everytime there was angst. ML truly thought that MC
Spoiler

had died and part of his hair turned white overnight

[collapse]
. ML was really fleshed out. He was such refreshing CEO!! He loves to show off his cute little bun, super silly and goofy when he plays with the baby without caring about his image.

3. MC was an adorable, sweet, hardworking person. Normal handsome, normal job. In the beginning, he is a bit of a face con and sort of lusted after great looking guys (only looking) and who blames him. I enjoyed reading how this sad, pityful person finally let go of everything and tried to enjoy his remaining time. I really loved how carefree he became. Knowing he would die soon he finally follows his heart and his physical urges in that month he spent with ML. MC stays kind, didnt turn into a revengeful person whilst he had reason too.

4. Side characters: MLs friends were so great! Same for the parents. Each character had their screentime and was sufficiently fleshed out. Author managed to make each of them loveable.

5. The little bun: god, he was cute!!!!!!! And was a real character. Not just mentioning that he looks cute and thats it. You get to know his super cute personality. The baby is
Spoiler

premature and I felt so much heart break as he was severly sick as soon as he was born. He needed heart surgery when he was 1y old

[collapse]

6. Minimal face slapping, dog blood and netizens. As this story doesn't need it to make it sensational! Some novels are so heavy on this, without it there is nothing left of the plot. This story only needed to rely a bit on these tropes. Enough to add a bit more spice when needed. No frustrating misunderstandings between cp.

7. Super wholesome story with sooooo much fluff, emotions and tissue moments. JUST READ IT!! <<less

The start of the this story is actually good. It pique my interest.

It was bitter sweet at first. The protagonists are pretty likeable.

However, everything I liked about this story got destroyed once MC left ML because he thinks he's gonna die soon.

... more>> It became a chore to read through the story. There's too much unnecessary dramatic plot that the author crammed in one after the other.

I hated how BS & cliché they are.

I wouldn't have minded a bit of drama in stories here & there, but this one has dragged on for too long & is basically uncalled for at this point. <<less

Ok so this started out pretty well, I really liked it and loved both of the MC and ML. Until suddenly the MC decided to be unreasonable and the ML had to suffer for no reason at all?

I really hate when the MC decides to be selfish AND the victim. And what I hate even more? When authors decide to drastically change their characters and settings, treating readers like fools.

Spoiler

I had put this on-hold a few months ago since I really liked it and was invested in it. But now when I think back to everything that happened, I'm just mad! I don't care if the author wants to add some drama, just be reasonable and don't make the ML go through all that sh*t for nothing!

At the beginning, when the MC decided to leave the ML (when they were abroad I guess), I could understand that. It might be hurtful to the ML, but the MC had his reasons then, he had his approaching death and all. But he decided to go back on his word and return to the ML, which is actually an emotional abuse for the ML. But still, I could understand that, he loved the ML and couldn't bear to part ways with him. Again he tricked him and left him (which I find really awful, the ML shouldn't have experienced that twice), but AGAIN I understand because he's dying and for all the reasons he mentioned in his letter to his lover.

From here on, the author decided to make things l nonsensical. For some reason, MC's parents (I guess only his father?), decided to accept him back into the family because he found out his son is dying? I don't care about whatever parents feelings bullshit, let's just see the facts, the son has been banned? For years for his s*xual orientation. The father was quite harsh with him and I don't remember well, but he could have commented on his son's death like it had nothing to do with him, and even better, he'd be happy about it. He said some nasty words. And when his son was ACTUALLY DYING, he became a different person? What a psycho. Anyways the son, who was rejected because he's gay, was welcomed even with the supernatural aspect of being pregnant! I actually don't care much about the issue with his parents, it is ridiculous yes, but I can ignore it to some extent.

The main issue that made me go nuts is this: Now the MC knew he wasn't dying, instead he is pregnant. And here's some facts: 1. He loves the ML. 2. He knows how much the ML loves him. 3. He found out that he left and abused him for nothing now.

If he is the same MC we read about in the first dozen chapters, then he'd make an effort to find the ML and tell him the truth. If he truly cares about him and loved him just like the author conveyed to us, then he wouldn't have continued ditching him! He had absolutely no excuse.

Aftaid the ML wouldn't accept him because he's pregnant? This wouldn't happen, first because he knows just how much the other loves him, second because, according to the author's logic, even his father who was against him being gay is now welcoming him AND the baby in open arms, so how'd his lover react?

Doesn't know where to find him? The ML had already told him about his university, he did drop some obvious hints. I don't think he'd reach nowhere if he made the bare minimum effort to look for him, giving the ML status.

I wouldn't be so appalled if he just tried! But he didn't even try to reach him and tell him. The baby isn't his alone, the ML deserved to know that his lover is well and that he's expecting a baby! He robbed him of all of that! He didn't experience those months prior to the birth, hell, he didn't even experience or feel the day his baby was born! This is too cruel and selfish.

And to add more fuel to the fire, the author decided to tell the ML that the MC died! Yay! Drama! So the ML lived TWO YEARS like shit! He didn't know his lover was actually alive and kicking, and he hadn't the slightest clue that he's a father!

What I'm so mad about is this point. MC just decided to raise the baby alone! As if this baby had came from a shameful relationship, as if he didn't have a caring and gentle father! He not only robbed his father of all these priceless moments, he made him suffer so bad.

The ML absolutely didn't deserve this. He deserved much better.

(*) I didn't mention that accident where the MC's ex-one-sided love accidentally hurts the MC and how the MC and his parents decided to be crazy about it because the issue with the ML alone is exhausting me. I'm not defending that man, it was purely an accident and he had no clue the other was pregnant! A freaking accident! But they treated him like the demon itself! This is way too disgusting and s*upid.

I can say for sure I'm not a fan of this MC, like at all.

I believe that the way he treated diagnosis from one hospital as a set rule is weird. I remember I had a case where doctor put some pretty heavy diagnosis on my head, what did I do? That's right, double-checked. Came out I was perfectly fine. Was it a devastating and depressing period? For sure. But survival is an instinct, as well as confirming that either you're ok or not. Later he acted like a basically... more>> stuck up person whose parents didn't allow to come home late, so he just lost his mind completely in indulging his wishes. I mean it was thanks to his parents who did the most logical thing - visit other doctors to help him find the damn truth.

Second thing I do not agree with MC, his acting as a rag, with his crush and his boss. With his accumulated knowledge he could have switched jobs, after several years it was obvious he was held by the balls by that unrequited love of his. I mean, people have at least some amount of pride, but his was simply stomped to death. He allowed himself to be treated as tr*sh, when later he can act hard-hearted, esp how he treated ML. Like why he allowed himself being in that position. I understand work, most of us go to work we don't like, but we need that cash, but it doesn't mean that job is irreplacable, that's weird.

Irresponsibility of MC is on a high level. When he found out he's pregnant he never informed ML. Like ML could have agreed or not, but you should have told him - you know, we'll have a child. No matter how fantastic it sounds. How do you know he's not looking for you, especially when he showed his genuine feelings which you stepped on mercilessly, he's not responsible that you had a fruitless crush.

Also allowing his ex in the house, I mean the first thing you should think of - my child - and for that mobilize forces like parents to come and protect you. Otherwise the accident with the bun wouldn't have happened. I mean, that's your child, its' health fully depends on you. And later he blamed his past crush, but tiny bit he was responsible for it too. Author is pretty wild and merciless, I was really sorry for the bun.

My simple question asking why MC treated ML that way was - WHAT DID HE DO? Like what did ML do to be treated like that? The answer is - nothing. The only thing he lied that he's a prostitute, but if you know that he lied (confirmed by MC) then you know his like for you is real, he really fell in love. Did he hurt you? Never. Did he do something bad? Again no. Why ML of this story is treated so poorly for a period without any logical reason. It just blew my mind. *Breathes in* I really need to calm down. Phew. I better go. <<less

Lots of dog blood... still in the tolerable range but melodrama isn't really my cup of tea. Luckily MC isn't the kind that's annoyingly indecisive and he's also capable of supporting himself.
