Unable to bear hurting the villain he helped raise, but when it came to compensating with his own body, the unfortunate, straight male reader figured he’d better escape… …

Many years later, the same unfortunate saint rubbed his neck, asking, “This is a dog collar you put on me, isn’t it?”

The handsome villainous boss gave a glance with his elegant, almond-shaped eyes, and then replied with a devious, charming smile, “That’s to prevent you from running away again.”

“If I stay put, will you refrain from destroying the world?”

I enjoyed reading this novel, but I felt that the summary is greatly misleading. What the summary describes is just a very small part depicted in one of the extras. Don’t let it misguide you. Go for review if you wanna really know about this novel.
anyway, the first two volumes are definitely great. The romance is awesome but somehow you start losing interest in vol.3 and henceforth. This is one of the reasons I didn’t give it 5 ratings. There are few plot holes that kinda confuses as to... more>> how and why certain things happened. Also, the side characters were really good and if the author would have given them more exposure, the story could have been strong. All in all a good read, but certainly not my top10. <<less

I would just like to say that this Novel was just on the right track and was going great. I really loved reading it. BUT!!! But the Author just had to spoil things in the last Volume.

And I thought that this novel will have at least 20-30% of Martial Arts training and things in it but there wasn't!

This is really funny and cute, with a lot of action and adventure, a love story that slowly develops, and a plot that's quite different from your typical transmigration story. This was a novel that made me laugh, cry, and pull all-nighters to finish. I wouldn't be translating it if I didn't like it to this extent.

The humor is what drew me in before anything else, and I've long lost count of how many times I had to pause to laugh because of the MC's reactions or the situations he... more>> ends up in. I won't spoil much here, but this plays on the transmigration trope (among a few others) in a fun and ridiculous parody-like manner, but still ties it back to the plot.

Spoiler

There are both plot-intensive and cute/fluffy arcs. It's mostly action/adventure plus some cultivation in the first half, along with a lot of adorable moments that lay the foundation for the relationships of the main cast. The focus shifts to a romantic one in the latter half, but there's still plenty of humor and action.

I really like the MC. He's humorous and feels very real as a modern person abruptly thrown into a fantasy world: someone with knowledge and skills but isn't OP with insane cheats, and sometimes fails despite giving it his all. While he is fundamentally a very kind person, he recognizes that this new world has it's own rules, and tries his best within those bounds. The love interest can be quite pushy, but my favorite part about him is that he never forces past the MC's bottom line. The times when MC told him to seriously stop, in the end, he stopped. The side characters are also very likeable and have lives and goals outside of their relation to MC, which is something I rarely see but loved a lot. My only lament is that the author didn't give us more details about them.

This is my favorite type of love story, where the build up is gradual, and there are a lot of hints and character development before they finally get together. There's enough drama to keep it exciting, but not to levels of soap-opera extremes. Their love and devotion is 100% mutual, and the extent in which they both go to protect the other is enough to give you diabetes (and heartbreak). And for those of you wondering, yes there are are R18 scenes (only in the latter half though).

I'm not a fan of romances that rely on repeated misunderstandings or falling for a rival's schemes to create conflict, and thankfully, this has neither. It's far from smooth-sailing though, so be ready to prepare your heart. Seriously, prepare your heart. I just about died over the course of cheering them on, but worry not, the ending is very satisfying and sweet. Their interactions are not only adorable, but also ridiculously hilarious at times.

Reading this was definitely a roller coaster ride of emotions, but for the most part, it's very light-hearted and will leave you full of smiles. It's an excellent blend of action and romance, with conflicts stemming from both external forces and internal turmoil. If you like transmigration stories where the characters establish a bond of affection and trust before falling in love, plenty of plot that doesn't revolve around said romance, and a happy ending (plus some extra chapters that act as fluffy icing on the cake), I definitely recommend giving this a try.

I'm gonna be honest, I really enjoyed the first two volumes of this novel and would probably have rated it 4/5. There was an excellent blend of plot and romance, with great character interactions not just between MC and ML but between all the characters.

However, starting in volume 3, the book started to go downhill. It seemed like the author was starting to give up entirely on the plot, so almost all the side characters began to disappear (if they did reappear, it was only one at a time). The... more>> extremely abrupt and awkward time skips did not help. As a result, the ML's personality suddenly changed in the blink of an eye, and the MC-ML dynamic was immediately shoved into the "oh now you're my love prisoner" territory. There were also a parade of smut scenes that felt uncomfortable because of the rapidity of the aforementioned personality change, and started to get rather dull since they followed pretty stereotypical BL dynamics. I did like the ending to volume 3 though, since it brought the plot back on track. However, Volume 4 made it worse with nonconsensual (well, definitely extremely extremely dubious consent) scenes between MC and ML. Stuff like the memory loss plot point was also done in a rather cliche manner.

I will say I love the side characters in this novel though. I appreciated the fun start, and only wish the rest of the novel had followed that. I think the novel would have benefited from abandoning the time skips so the MC doesn't feel left out of the plot. <<less

i had so many expectations for this one ok. I wasn't thinking it would be like the grandmaster of demonic cultivation level with all the intricate backstories and worldbuilding but shit, this novel just went downhill harder than a skydiver with a broken parachute dude.

we start off so promising, there's a good premise and interesting characters, the main guy isn't completely useless and has a decent personality and a goal- to raise evil brat properly. we get good exposition, some background of the cultivation systems. main dude's whole refinement thing... more>> is interesting and we get the shifu who's cool and waiting to be expanded upon. I HAD EXPECTATIONS OK. sh*t WAS GOOD.

then volume 3 came and suddenly main's personality becomes nonexistent, his personality is like wet toilet paper, he has to be saved all the time and inexplicably starts to fall in love with evil brat. evil brat starts doing creepy ass sh*t and the dude's like -oh I don't like it *moans* ah jue do it harder - with a side of r*pe and Stockholm syndrome. let emphasize we now have a shitton of r*pe!!!! somehow more than all the other bls i've read before.

without mentioning all the r*pe, the plotline also goes downhill it's like super rushed and like no characters but evil brat and main guy are like mentioned, good brat literally is there for some reunion feel goods to pretend this thing isn't all about the f*cking now. hahaha did I mention that? the plot is sidelined so the two can f*ck in increasingly more disturbing and r*pey scenarios. like. that's the whole plotline v.3-end. r*pe p*rn, dubcon p*rn, stokholm syndrome p*rn..... etc. THERE'S SO MANY PLOTHOLES, AND PEOPLE HE JUST LIKE... FORGETS ABOUT? LIKE WTF DUDE YOU SPENT ALL THIS TIME TRYING TO GIVE THE READERS SIDE PEOPLE AND LIKE ALL A SUDDEN YOU CUT THEM OUT LIKE U GOT AMNESIA????

like I am so disappointed. I literally created this account just to post this like I'm so angry. it wouldn't have been as bad if this was a straight up p*rn novel, but it had lots of potential to be a good story and not just a f*ckfest with bland stock characters, like legit, I don't even remember their names now and it's been like what, 15 min since I finished the novel? I'm sorry but all you 5 star people are like delusional??? vol 1-2 was decently mediocre and 3-4+extra is just p*rn there's no plot anymore. the parasite in authors brain ate it like it was main guys as*hole and he was evil brat.

wait lololololol the premise of this story is about some guy complaining about some sh*t ending and author did a sh*t ending, truly some great irony right there.

IM STILL MAD!!!!!

ps. if you really still want to read it after reading through this rant read vol. 1-2 then hope that it gets popular enough for some fanfiction writer to write a satisfactory ending. the other half read for smut if you're into that type of shit.

*spit* I spent 5 hours on this piece of sh*t peace out <<less

Edit (2019) : I warned everyone back in 2017. You all got fooled.

I slogged through the chinese raws thinking it would get less cliche but it turned out to be yet another story with a blushing protagonist and a r*pey, controlling and possessive lover. You know the drill: the protagonist protests about bottoming and wallows in his feelings of emasculation, while the r*pey lover is so full of love for the protagonist that you'll never see him bottom out of consideration, or you know, take no for an answer. One of the best yaoi stories that I have ever read in my life. This is coming from someone who basically read every yaoi manga that exists. The chemistry between the two MCs is so sweet, cute, sexy, and heart wrenching all at the same time.
The plot of the story is extremely unique as well.

Reading this, I smiled, laughed, squealed, and cried. Highly recommended, you won't regret it.

The first 2-3 volumes were good till the ML decided to lowkey sexually mol*st/almost r*pe the MC... like wtf?!?!

It might just be my personal preference, but teasing MLs that want to get reactions out of MCs is fine and all till ya start harassing/mol*sting the MC, cause at that point, I would want to report the ML to the police and get a restraining order on the ML. I don't understand why the author tries to romanticize r*pe when the MC in the novel explicitly tells the ML to stop... more>> his harassment, especially when the MC couldn't recognize the ML (who was in disguise as a random stranger). For real, if any one was sexually harassed by a random person (didn't know the harasser was his/her lover), it is perfectly normal to feel disgusted, yet somehow the author makes the MC like?/feel pleasant? about being sexually mol*sted? I am so confused on why/how the author thought that these mol*sting scenes would have worked out in any way...

So in summary, everything was good up till the last volume where the MC kept on being mol*sted/harassed/almost-raped/teased by the ML and even somehow easily forgave the ML, like why/how?!?! I guess the author was trying to pass the point, "love is blind", across in the last volume, cause if that was the case, then I can only agree that love is indeed blind, so blind that the MC tolerated being sexually harassed and almost r*ped and even easily forgave the harasser/potential rapist. <<less

I really enjoyed the first two volumes of the story, however the 3rd and 4th volume started to get duller. The side characters stopped appearing, the MC seemed to stop caring about anyone but his loveinterest, and as much as I love their interactions, having other people mixed in made it that much more entertaining.

Especially volume three was a hard read for me, volume 4 seems to get a bit better, however at this point it's way too late to save. Also it's barely connected to the rest of the... more>> volumes. Really.. It's a strange way to end the story, but I guess I'll take it.

The MC starts out really nice, and turns into a weak and whimpy guy which I'm really not that fond of. Also the love interest forces himself a bit too much on the MC for my taste. <<less

HOLY CRAP!!! As one reviewer already said, this is probably one of the best if not the best Yaoi/shounen ai I have ever read. All the main characters are sooooo good and the romantic development seems so much more real than any romance I have read about. It is first built on trust instead of lust. This is the best kind of romance, where you really know how much the characters love each other and the depths of how much they will grow their relationship. Obviously this is a slow... more>> burn romance, and this is slow burn in the best way. It scorches my heart because everything is too hot even with the smallest interactions, or contact, or smile. Like my heart is freaking burnt to a crisp right now, how am I alive???!!! How the hell will I continue this amazing story if my heart's already not working!! <<less

So I've finished up to volume 2 and so far, the story is really good. Really like the plot and absolutely love the ML's jealous and possessive moments. Another thing I really appreciate is that the MC is not a damsel permanently in distress and actually has a usable brain.

But now that I'm ready to start on volume 3, I can't access the site Bonbonbltranslations because the IP address couldn't be found or something like that T_T Am I the only one facing this problem? Can someone help please?

Well, it started well in the first two volumes of the novel. Then in the third volume things started to get a bit boring but in the fourth volume the writer just completely ignored the plot and left a lot of plot-holes that I was expecting them to be gone in the extras but I was once again dissapointed.

And this without talking about all the dub-con/non-con things the ML does to the MC, he almost r*pes him...[saying he can't hold on... like are you a f*cking beast ] ; im... more>> truly mad with this writer for messing up the novel tbh we didnt even get a good end.

Im giving it 2 stars for the first two volumes.

I'm with all the others who said that they liked the first two volumes, but not the others. Too much r*pe, not enough good plot development/story. It almost felt like reading two completely different stories (first two volumes compared to the rest). It felt like the MC changed too much and gave up the things I liked about him all for being r*ped by the ML and being broken to pieces. Sucks because the ideas of the story were really good, but everything kept going back to development of this... more>> rapist ML. The MC started out great, developing into a character of the world he transmigrated into really well, going through ups and downs, encountering interesting stories, then all of a sudden he is just a s*x toy for the ML and there is just a lot of cat and mouse play the rest of the storyline. I am like some others, I had to stop reading because it started to feel like sandpaper on my brain, then stumbled upon it again later on. <<less

Why would someone rate this a 5 star? I'm going to keep this concise while venting my frustrations. I was conflicted whether on posting a brutally honest review or keep it civil...I just... ugh. I stayed up until 3 AM and couldn't even focus at work after reading this novel. And to think that it disappointed me this much...

This novel consists of 4 volumes. In volume 1, I was extremely content. The fluffiness is there, it's cute, blah blah. It would've been perfect to end it there and give some extras, maybe. Why? Because after volume 2, the quality surprisingly degrades to the point of being confused whether I was reading the story or not. Some plots from volume 1 were forgotten and I was like... okay... let's try reading... more>> more and see. The romance started to happen and I was pretty satisfied with the development (well, I predict the majority of us came here for that).

After starting reading volume 3, I thought that the quality wouldn't get worse, but I was wrong. The romance starts to get... murky? The smuts were pretty hot, I gotta tell you... but... their relationship started becoming too toxic. And the plot went into disarray pretty quickly. While the story heavily focuses on the romance between Ling Xia (MC) and Zhi Jue (ML), the other aspects of the story loses its details. At some parts, it feels rushed, but uses the romance to divert the focus from it.

It's like the author simply just decided to let go of the plot and just glossed it over by putting MC and ML simping over each other in almost every chapter. That's still okay, but in volume 4, I had to stop reading as things were getting too uncomfortable. I couldn't even continue reading. Please, please, PLEASE read the tags. There is a yandere tag and a r*pe tag. That should be enough to tell you what's going down.

Spoiler

After MC got revived for the first time, he "slept" for 4 years, and many details regarding those years were omitted thus making the story feels a little bit jumpy. It got worse after MC died for the second and third time. Suddenly things already came to a huge scale and there isn't a sufficient explanation behind it. Any related explanation was only from ML (the villain) 's point of view and a teeny tiny bit from the protagonist. It's clear how partial this story is, heavily leaning towards the ML. Making the protagonist the side character (lmao...).

Honestly? When he first died, I knew he was gonna come back eventually. But after the second and third... I'm astonished by MC's survival skills. Although he obviously became useless after dying multiple times. This is also something that I wanted to rant about. How come he has a huge potential like herculean strength and armament refining only to become a waste?? I feel disappointed. I'm aware that it wasn't his choice, after all he was dragged left and right by the intricacies of those sects. Still... what a waste.

[collapse]

If I have something else that I can't stand from this novel... it's the freaking. Male. Lead. Now hold on... I have plenty of arguments to back up my statement. Bear with me a bit since I'm literally infuriated right now.

Spoiler

Yu Zhi Jue, he's a f*cking r*pist and it disgusts me. You should feel the same. I clearly saw the signs that he was turning more and more possessive that it's ridiculous. MC isn't allowed to even look at others. He first sexually harassed him while the other was asleep, confined him in his home (for protection, he said), refused to give him explanations, hide important things from him, forced him to do s*xual activities, blatantly r*ping him (note that at that time MC possessed no memories of Zhi Jue, but he was forced to the point of being bound and could only cry. Despite this, Zhi Jue got more excited and continued his actions...). And to think that MC sacrificed himself three times for this piece of sh*t??? Electric chair.

In conclusion, Zhi Jue doesn't deserve human rights, civil rights, whatever that is. He deserves to be in h**ny jail. It's all right to be a simp but he blatantly became a r*pist. Nuh-uh. As a h**ny patrol, I couldn't overlook this fact. I wish he could burn in hell and his manhood loses its function.

[collapse]

So, do I recommend this? Once again, read the tag and decide on your own. I rest my case. Have a nice day. Ah, it felt good to vent. <<less

One of the more amusing plots of transmigration that uses all the same types of tropes as other stories but still makes it unique in it's own way.

Spoiler

After reading his favorite online xianxia novel's conclusion, the MC curses at the story and author for such a horrific ending of the villain pretty much destroying the world. He curses the main characters to be gay. Low and behold, he ends up transmigrating into a minor cannon fodder character in the story that never had a complete background. He ends up meeting both the protagonist and the villain when they are kids and sort of becomes their nanny to try to re-educate the villain into law abiding person. However, his "education" ended up changing both the protagonist and villain in misunderstood and hilarious ways.

The villain's black belly ways are reminiscent of the seme in "Legendary Master's Wife", however, he still retains his respect for the MC. As for the MC, he's similar to "My Disciple Died Yet Again", where he dies multiple times. Each time he dies, he goes back to modern times. The only difference is that when he goes back into the story, a time skip happens, even though he retains his original body. It's a good coping mechanism for the age gaps and the potential shotacon.

[collapse]

Overall, a cute and amusing twist on the same old transmigration into a story plot. <<less

Don't read it! It's not worth it, you will be disappointed.

(Slight spoilers!! you have been warned)

This is my first review on novelupdates - this novel really pushed me so far I had to let some steam off. I'm not usually one to flame a novel and am alright with pretty low quality but this was... ugh

Honestly, it started well. I rather enjoyed volume one and got really hyped after the last chapter. The MC's character had a solid base, his own opinions and aims. His friendly relationship with... more>> the protagonist and ML was also pretty nice. In volume 1 those two were both 10 y/o kids and the MC was taking care of them.

Volume 2 started fine but then it quickly turned to shit.

The at this point 14 year old ML kept sexually assaulting the (VERY ADULT AS IN HE ALREADY HAS A JOB AND PAYS TAXES) MC. And what did the MC do? He went along with it. There are multiple graphic scenes between him and a literal child. The author even brings up the fact that 14 is the age of consent as if to justify those scenes, only to then claim that the MC isn't even sure if the ML is even 14 yet. The MC ends up turning the ML down, but only after engaging in several s*xual activities.

The plot at this point also seems to be falling apart, already way too focussed on the obsession the ML has with the MC. The MC's character also seems to slowly fade away and change itself to please the ML at all times.

Characteristics from V1 also just... get lost? The MC was described to be inhumanely strong, which helped him out in V1, but after V1 it doesn't get mentioned or used again in neither V2 nor V3

V3 is when sh*t really hit the fan. There is a 4 year time jump, and the instant MC woke up from his coma, he hopped onto ML'S d*ck and agreed to date him. It's as if he had been in love with the ML all along, who he obviously had seen as a kid/younger brother in the earlier Volumes. Not only is it gross, but it's completely nonsensical. How did he suddenly change his mind about wanting to be MLs lover although he had turned him down mere chapters earlier? When did he suddenly develope actual romantic feelings? Why is he suddenly "okay" with being touched by ML?

His entire character is just suddenly reduced to liking ML and 18+ scenes that mostly were nonconsensual again. Hell, the ML even made the MC cry at some point because he was so sexually aggressive and didn't wait for consent.

I honestly don't know how I pushed through to Volume 3, but after the MC was labled as MLs "Wife" and literally anything interesting besides being ML personal sextoy had been stripped away from him, I dropped it. Honestly, I should have dropped it at the beginning of Volume 2, but I really wanted to continue for the plot. Sadly the plot is nowhere to be found, buried under unsexy, (often) non-con 18+ scenes

This novel had so much potential and the author completely ruined it, this is so frustrating <<less

This was incredibly disappointing. The worst part is that it really did start of strong. The plot was interesting. The characters, though pretty cliche, were fun and had some interesting dynamics. I didn't think I had found a master piece but at least a fun read with a bland but cute couple, but boy was I wrong.

By novel 3 you can start to see the holes and the flags popping up that the author just doesn't know what to do with these characters anymore. Suddenly the plot will just stop... more>> for the leads to have s*x and side characters that were prominent start showing up less and less. I still generally enjoyed it though. We could see some genuine moments between all the s*x scenes and even though the MC was turning into a white flower he was still interesting enough to follow.
Then novel 4 happened. Suddenly all the side characters we knew are gone and it's just a bland innocent lamb x yandere pairing. The ML gets stripped of any previous nuance that he had and is now the classic "I r*pe you because I just love you too much" kinda top. He just can't comprehend another way to make the MC fall in love with him than noncon/dubcon. It's so odd to see him talk about how he wants to protect the MC and never let anyone, even himself, hurt him. So manipulation and noncon isn't directly hurting him? The worst scene for me is when the MC start bawling his eyes out, because he's ya know getting r*ped, and the ML sees this, sees how scared and in pain he is, rubs his back for a bit AND THEN KEEPS GOING. Like he realizes that he is directly causing the MC pain and he just coaxes him for a bit and then keeps going. And the thing is we already had a very similar scene in vol 3 but the ML realizes that he's causing harm and that's why he swore never to do that again, yet here he is??? I honestly have nothing against dubcon or noncon if it's either just meant to be p*rn and not taken seriously or creates drama/conflict for the main couple. But it's basically inconsequential in the grand scheme of things, no one really cares. The author could've made those scenes 100% consentual and literally nothing would have changed. Authors adding noncon elements to their story and then just not committing to it is probably my biggest pet peeve so know that I am being slightly biased. <<less

I do realise that it’s rather rude for me to say this, but people should really refrain from picking up a work if they’re not at least a little versed in the concerned language. This holds back other translators (who are actually good at translating) from picking up the novel.

The first two volumes are fairly good, as for the rest I can’t... more>> even tell (the translation is incomprehensible). <<less

It's a great story! Super cute, a funny novel that transitions into romance fairly smoothly without coming across as too forced. The one thing I'm hot and cold on is the transitions between arcs.

Spoiler

On the one hand, it's fairly unique and interesting that the author keeps being sent back to his world upon "death" only to have to go back when he realizes the villain is straying further from the path of rehabilitation. This plot device was also a really nice way to merge his identity back on earth with the new world, rather than leaving readers hanging wondering what happened with family/another body possibly stuck back on earth like a lot of other novels do. However, sometimes the way the MC falls in and out of the world can get a little too convenient, you know?

But, I'm probably just overthinking it since it really is a very good story. And the smut scenes are satisfying, even if I'm just using MTL.
