Noda Sagiri is the only girl in her karate club, she has little feminine attributes but has a hidden talent in making sweets. On a whim she decided to bring her handmade cookies to her club, but after one of the idols of the school Michel François tasted her cookie he suddenly declared “I must meet with the girl who made these cookies!”. The search for the cookie maker began, however it seems that no one would come to expect that Sagiri is the one who made them….

If you're looking for realistic characterization, this is not the novel for you. The characters are all 2D with super low EQ, including an entire club which exists solely to pull the readers' aggro. That being said, this is a fluffy, light hearted story. One of the chapters had me in stitches because of how brilliant its humor was. I look forward to each chapter.

Hilarious, perfect for light-hearted read. The main character is an absolute softie and has a tendency to take care of everyone around her. Most of the chapters involves descriptions of the sweets the main character baked for the male lead along with their banter- both I thoroughly enjoyed.

Well, this was a very simple, somewhat-entertaining story with no real resolution - hence the low rating. If there was a real ending, it'd have at least a 3 or maybe a 4, because it was fairly entertaining.

This is one of those stories that has a super-simplistic storytelling style, with very little of anything about the characters, the scene, the background, the environment or expressions fleshed out or elaborated on.

What it does have going for it, however, are really delightful interactions between the two main characters (neither of which are... more>> the Sweets Prince). Their characters are both a little quirky and the way they develop a very natural relationship with an acceptance of each others' strengths, weaknesses and quirks is quite nice to read. They really are what make the whole story worthwhile.

Most of the other characters are completely two-dimensional (except, perhaps, for the MC's karate club president/senpai, whose vibrant and uncontrollable character is completely under-utilised). The Sweets Prince is merely a minor plot device, and too much time is spent on him when he's so uninteresting. It's a story where sometimes attention is given to small interactions and events that end up feeling a bit pointless considering that the story peters out somewhat.

I don't usually spoil endings, but I think a warning is warranted here when I say that there really isn't a proper ending to this. At best, two super minor "arcs" or events are somewhat resolved, but then it just stops. You could imagine romance in the future if you wanted to, but the actual story doesn't give the MC any true romantic pay out.

If you want a non-brain-straining diversion and are prepared for what you will get in terms of the simplicity and ending, then this is actually quite a cute and entertaining story. Somewhat pointless, but diverting. <<less

It was a fun story but I just kinda wished there was a little more romance. I kinda regret spending time reading it...

It's a lighthearted, casual comedy and the banter between Noda (MC) and Mizuhara is wonderful. Very enjoyable read just for the pair's antics. Not much in the way of romance, just a bit near the end and some vaguely cute moments.

The University setting is really refreshing, and the Karate club MC is part of is super fun. But towards the very end an event or two makes me wonder if the setting is in high school. It felt forced and unnatural, but fortunately isn't a big part of the story.

MC... more>> is an idiot, please go easy on her. <<less

I love this story. It simply makes me crave for sweets just by reading it. MC is adorable with her kindness and obliviousness. She loves making sweets because of her mother's influence while on the contrary she is sucks at cooking. ML (Mizuhara) is your typical antisocial guy who has a poisonous tongue. Unlike his cold image, he loves eating sweets the most and makes hunting sweets around the world as his life goal.

Well, actually, there is no definite mention about who is ML till the end of the story... more>> but I just decide by my self since I hope MC will end up with Mizuhara. Here is the reason.

Spoiler

Although Mizuhara often critizes MC harshly with his poisonous tongue, he still helps MC whenever she needs him (sometimes silently). He also could bring out her best self without realizing it.

Too bad there is no closure about their relationship, wether they end up being together or not in the end. I think I just leave it to my imagination.

About a prince, I don't pity him at all. Maybe because since the beginning, he made a stereotype about Miss Chocolat's appearance, saying that she must be a beautiful and graceful woman while MC was the opposite. Then he recklessly confessed to the wrong woman (Kinoshita) without investigating further and ended up hurting that woman's feeling.

Well, it's not like Kinoshita is innocent either. She lied to the prince about the cookies and didn't come clean even after they were together. When the prince realized that he confessed to the wrong person and recognized that the one he liked was MC, it's already too late. MC's feeling towards him has already changed (MC used to like him in the past). But maybe there is still a chance for him to turn things around in the future since the ending is open for your imagination. <<less

Rom com mixed with slice of life, simple as that. I expected no official pairings by the end because that is the type of story it is. Plus, I think she can do better than either guy.

kg was a very interesting story making me really carve for those sweets being mentioned.

but really now, here I thought those two Sagiri and Mizuhara would get together it just ended like that. Do feel pity for the prince, but their relationship was more my fav. Also very funny at that.

though it seemed like he has some special feelings for her. Not really sure, just a feeling.

There's not much of a search. Most of the story is basically about baking and eating. In fact, Michel doesn't even feel like the ML - he only makes appearances once in a while. The romance in this seems like a secondary focus too. With that said though, this is still a funny, light-hearted enjoyable story to read. Plus the translation quality is well done.

Spoiler

Edit: There's a bit more "romance" in the later chapters but it doesn't really end up anywhere...

Light hearted and lovely, I really like these kind of novels, I only have one complaint though, it's kind of hard to read, I don't know if it's the translator or the author but it's a bit messy, also very few characters are introduced which makes it harder to understand, it's especially hard to understand when they are in the karate room, only 3 of the members have been introduced, the others are extra, but they talk, we don't know their name and the conversations are kind of a mess,... more>> also some scenes start like out of nowhere, I mean that's normal in anime I guess but it feels too abrupt here.

Maybe as a manga it would be easier to understand and more enjoyable, luckily the translator has made us the favor of putting some images of the manga from time to time. It's something light and it does it's job, it lifts up my mood, Mizuhara is really adorable, really, and the MC's cousin is also really nice, if you don't love most of the characters at least you'll love some of them. <<less
