This novel is unique. The MC is not a weak woman. Something that is rare in chinese novel. She is strong mentally. Some people maybe said she is cold to her partner but I think it just because she trust no man. Her father betrayed her mother. So she felt really hard to trust man. So she is not ready for new love. And when the new love did come. She is in denial. Try to ignore it by denied it.

The ML is god among men. Yup, he is really dedicated to his lover. Maybe some people will say it over reacting. But he lost it for the first chance because he is late in realizing his love. He is sad for it. But he got a second chance. For something he thought he cant get. Thats why he tried really hard to win it. No one will give up for a second chance to get what they thought it is lost. Fortunately because of his tenacity he got it. Bravo ml.

The story is slice of live. Quite interesting. What I love is the female lead rivals are not so s*upid like in other chinese nivdl. They could think (which is rare) when is the right time to give up and keep going on with their live. No need to keep pursuing the ML and tried to destroy the MC. So it wont end as 2d villain.

What I dont like is sometimes its too flat ^^ so I got bored in chapter 40 something. I just contiune read it to know what is the end.

this is such a fresh start with a strong and independent woman as the FL who doesn't even cry right after a break up or resigning from her job.

but the story became bland when everything becomes too smooth or easy for her in all aspects. I just don't know, it's like it's too good that she didn't even have to give some effort (in her lovelife) since everything is already given to her.

5 stars for the story; 4 stars for the translation.

This is one of the sweetest, slice of life romances that I have ever read in CN.
Loved the FL and the ML. FL is a strong but not OP woman. She is clever, but not a genius. She is pretty but not to the point of being a goddess.
The ML at first appears to be the standard, rich, smart, powerful, good looking CEO from a prestigious family. But appearances can be deceiving :)

I loved how their relationship progressed. All throughout the story the focus was on how women first need to have self worth for themselves and not be pitiful lotuses clinging to males and how men need to respect their partners (wife/girlfriend) and be responsible, mature and steady when in a relationship.

Despite the realistic nature of the relationships and lack of extreme melodrama, there was never a dull moment as the story progresses.

A good story, full of fluff especially with the male lead who was doting on the female lead since the beginning. In fact it was so much that sometimes it was exaggerated (cleaning, cooking, driving, laundry...) he was really like a servant. The most perfect no misunderstandings fluffy book that will have you sqweeling with awwws every 5 seconds. I would compare this with CEOs villainous childhood friend. So good! You can't go wrong if you are looking for some good fluff!

This story is exactly my cup of tea. It is relaxing, cute, fluffy and not too much drama... well considering MC doesn't like dramas she's like my ideal perfect MC ever! I honestly didn't even realize how much engrossed I was in this story when I finally saw read that it was the end already. Great read.

I give this author props for delving into a mostly unchartered territory that is not seen much on web novels. But, there's a fine line between strength (and s*upidity). Even if the author was trying to portray a logical and more real MC, I feel like they failed to merge the character settings with the logic.

There's no way a man can show you his... more>> heart and provide for you in every possible way and not be moved by him. This MC failed to deliver reciprocity in the way the ML doted on and pampered her. Keeping in mind this is not a scum man, but, a good man, honestly the MC did not deserve him.

I've dropped this since, there's no plot and there's no basis of love to keep me reading this. It might be for someone else but clearly not for me. <<less

Can you hate a man who contemplates getting plastic surgery because the woman who has his heart doesn’t want handsome men? Can you hate someone who, even though they’ve never liked cooking, learns to cook simply because their lady love likes to eating? Can you hate a ML who respects a FL? The last one sounds weird but so many male leads these days don’t respect the female lead it's horrifying so it was strangely touching.

Also, he’s rich, sooooo.... Added bonus. But then again, which ML isn't rich? Huh...

This book... more>> has my all time favourite trope of the guy chasing the girl. He waits patiently as she slowly falls for him and it’s too cute and fluffy and heartwarming for this novel to NOT have a permanent place in my heart.

And the female lead... aside from her mentioning EVERY OTHER PARAGRAPH that she wasn’t like the other female leads, she was pretty cool! She’s not the type to give her life up for a man. She has better things to focus on. And I admire this kind of Female lead because it's always an interesting read for me whenever I encounter them. And I encounter them rarely, which actually adds to my enjoyment. <<less

Loved the story. It was straight to the point with good characters. Even the villains are realistic. Not some mafia gang sh*t or anything over dramatic

Uhhh so to explain why I like this novel is because FL is steady rational but not cold woman. She doesnt avoid romance and not being inclined neither. She just calmly weigh every situation even her emations (for me it is the most cool point!!). ML also likes her while being aware of all these points and doesnt try change it either. He is the most sincere person that I read when pursuing his love within boundaries. I've avoided this story due to the description which doesn't due the story justice and some negative reviews. After a long time, I saw the title in a recommendation from another story I enjoyed so I went into the story not recognizing it was something I've previously avoided. Glad it happened so.

It is fluffy, with a bit of martial arts action, some third female lead but not too overboard. Love some of the comedic writing that had me laughed out loud. The female lead reminds me a bit of the... more>> K drama Kim Bok-Joo. Some critics pointed the manipulative side of the ML and the air brain side of the FL but I do not see the same. I see two people who grew up together and at some point, they've turned into a couple with "Mr. And Mrs. Smith" (an American movie with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt) relationship without the violence. Both scheming to outwit the other. It is well written and well paced. No fillers. The extras at the ties many of the ends together. I've debated whether if it is better to incorporate the extras into the main story or to leave as sides; depending on one's opinion, some may like to get to the conclusion sooner while others like to read a fuller bodied story. This is binge worthy, light, fluffy and funny. A pleasure reading. <<less

I really like this author’s view on the relationship between men an women. And this story is another excellent exemple of it.

Nowadays is very hard for a woman to find a good man, and a strong, independent and no nonsense woman has even a harder time, because most times, to find a good partner, you have to go through no good ones.

Su Le lived her life with the principle of being good to herself first and that made her happy on it’s own, with or without a man by her... more>> side and that is admirable. And when the time came for her to give it a shot with Wei Chu, who on paper seemed too good to be true she gave him a chance not because of the “on paper” qualities but because she payed attention who his real self was.

Wei Chu is also a good example of a good man. He went on with his life, never gave false hope to those who vainly hoped, and when he saw opportunity he took it and went with it, because second chances are very hard to find. <<less

Fluffy story, no drama/angst but the FL didn't really seem to be reciprocating the ML much. It looked like a one sided effort from the guy and to be honest, I felt bad for him.

No dog blood, coercion, revenge, abuse, or misunderstandings.

The female lead is not Mary Sue, is not in danger and doesn't need help.

The male lead is a CEO, rich, handsome, but he is not domineering, forceful and doesn't controls the female lead.

A very simple afternoon type of romance story about a boy chasing a girl.

Not exactly my jam, but is a healthy story.

No big Drama, no overbearing CEO what pesters the FL and pretty much gets together with her in the 5 Chapters because he blackmails/pushes her into his Bed, just a story about a young Men in love with a Girl, and he does everything to get her as GF/Wife. I actually attempted to read this back when I was still testing CN novels. Back then, I was unfamiliar with CN idioms, style, culture, and the general atmosphere so in the end I dropped it. I decided to pick it up again and I am satisfied with it.

It's just a simple story between a man and a woman. There's no misunderstanding between them and def no r*pe. This is a down to earth kind of CEO unlike the typical cold and ruthless MLs. I like the ML very much bec... more>> he works hard even when the courting stage has already passed. He's diligent, honest, and doting. It's even to the point where you can call the FL spoiled. I mean, who wouldn't??? The man literally lets the FL laze around and even encourages it.

But I also like the principled side of FL. She has her limits and she knows what she wants in a relationship. If I really have to list down one unsatisfactory thing, it would be that I wish the FL was more expressive. <<less

A fluffy novel. It is definitely made to be a fantasy because of how perfect Wei Chu is. I personally find not much complaints. Su Le is just being herself. I like how honest and blunt she is on the get-go about Wei Chu's affections. I think that she is not cruel to the main lead; she was only being, yes, honest. I like that quality. She is just very steadfast on her philosophies in life, and like how she created barriers for Wei Chu's... more>> romantic feelings, it is her decision to make. We have to consider also that she literally got dumped in her relationship of two years not so long ago. It is completely realistic for her to do what she has done, so Wei Chu's work is natural.

This is definitely a power fantasy. Strong female lead who is admired? Check. Strong male lead who has been in love with said lead for years and is like a god? Check. Faceslapping? Check. I loved it for what it is. I catch myself squealing at Wei Chu's actions and adoring every minute of it. The steady pace of the two sparring with each other (with Wei Chu getting all weak points from Su Le's constant blocks) is lovely. It is an average novel, but it is a worthwhile read to keep your mind off of things. <<less
