The MC has been basically swindled by her best friend and her husband, she gets kicked out to another place, she comes back with her kid and she will fall in love with the father of her kid while face slapping her ex best friend and husband.
I just want to slap the kid, husband and the MC so much. If they had just sit down and talk over everything and explain, or heck even think carefully behind on why it's like that, they will have learn so much more. But instead they are stuck in misunderstanding and the husband even thinks that the MC is a promiscuous woman and has a bad impression.
And while you are sighing at all this s*upid misunderstanding (btw they're adults not teenagers which make it even more unbearable), the author puts in some "cute" forced skinship scene where the kid tries to get his mommy and daddy to sleep together. And of course there's some petting and they're attracted to each other and it's like ????????? Wtf??
Like the MC is under stress from being bullied by her ex-best friend who betrayed her at work, she is facing off the ML who threatened to sue her and take custody of her child but she still have time to think he's good looking? And she never clears up the misunderstanding between them and explains how she was drugged by her best friend and accidentally end up sleeping with him. To toy with you even more, the author keeps making scene where they are like "Oh, we need to have a GOOD TALK WITH EACH OTHER, " and then they never talk about the elephant in the room.
This is because the friends and family of these two end up having thier own tragedies and romances which is, to some extent, connected to thiers.
Unlike most novels where the story basically ends when the protagonists get married and have children (or additional children if it is a story like this one, which involves a child out of wedlock) then you'll be surpised to discover that it is actually the offspring of the couples in these first hundreds of chapters that the rest of story is about, especially the children of "Main Couple".
They, as well as the couples around them, now become sidelined as backgroud characters and basically become the "rich and powerful family" that you see in most generic stories.
Yes, our little bun grows into a big handsome bun T^T. A typical cool and powerful, "Young Master".
You can actually skip those chapters and simply indulge in the stuggles of thier children but some choices their parents made in the past affect some parts of the story. So, I wouldn't say it is completely stand alone.
Ok, so the "Main Couple" (which im sure everyone cares about the most) has a very rough start in thier relationship. Thier loves of course blossoms and becomes extremely fluffy and sweet filled with tons of snu snu and blushing, then simmers into a mellower kind love as they mature together.
Its actually quite refreshing to see them shed that boldness and rashness of youth and then see thier kids fight thier own battles.
