FL is a bit s*upid. When I know that other being in front of me is not a human; I will try to explain my thoughts. Rather, she wants to judge ML's actions according to human perspective. It's unfair for our ML.

5 🌟 because I can't seem to change my ratings once after given. I wanted to give 4 🌟 while deducting 1 🌟 because of FL's < I wanna go home, he doesn't understand me, I'm scared, I wanna cry, he's so big, I'm only 18.. I don't know what mating is, He has no sympathy (You want sympathy from a leopard?).. Always wants to kill others (bit*h ML is a leopard, he is carnivore, ofc he'll kill to eat, no? I don't like the 'Don't kill, I don't like people who kill others FL") >

ML is sweetie but you have to teach him what's good and what's bad for a human female. Otherwise, he'll treat you just like a leopard male does to his leopard female. It's normal. Don't blame him. He never knew what sympathy is to begin with.

Slow paced, the romantic development started off only by halfway mark of the novel.

There were more things happening in the latter half than when it started hence my 3 rating for this.

The ML's intelligence was incredible. He would've been the CEO type if he were in the modern world. I didn't like him much when he turned back to his adult form after being hurt by the wolves but he redeemed himself in the last couple of chapters of the novel. He's a manly man alright.

Kudos to betwixted team for... more>> the quality translation. Cheers~ ❤️ <<less

At first, I was reluctant to read because of the bad reviews but I guess it was pretty ok. I mean it wasn't like super duper good but like it was bad either. Im just glad that I didn't feel like I wasted my time.

I wanna defend this novel just a bit because I personally think it wasn’t that bad to deserve a 1 star. I think it really just depends on the person and what they're interested in reading.

For me, I like reading novels with not too much drama... more>> so this was a pretty good read for me. The story basically revolves around the main characters (and I mean only the main characters because you barely seen any development in any of the other characters in the novel). And its because of this that I wouldn’t exactly say this was a super good novel, but at the same time it was still pretty interesting to keep me from dropping the novel.

Spoiler

To be completely honest, I was a bit pissed with how forceful the ML was with MC but the novel literally had the tags so I wasn’t too surprised. But then I was mega pissed when the MC automatically switched to loving the guy after she returns and he finds her lmao. Like she was literally trying to hide from him? But then all of a sudden she just accepts him????

Now lemme talk about the end. It actually was a satisfying end. Like it didn’t leave me feeling like I wasted my time at all. But it also didn't make me feel like it was the best ending ever.

[collapse]

So what I want to say in conclusion is that this book should really only be read when you’re super bored and have nothing else to read. Its barely has any drama (if I can even call it that lol) and focuses heavily on how the MC and ML’s relationship goes from shitty to all of a sudden good (?). <<less

It's ok. I think it's just overrated. I don't see any redeemable qualities in ML that should prompt FL to abandon the whole world.

I had a lot of hesitation on whether to read this or not because of the mixed reviews and I'm really comfortable seeing the r*pe tag but somehow I just decided to dive into this without thought. I guess I could say it was pretty good and it wasn't bad either for me? I liked the world building and all character set ups but I guess just disapointed that some parts really made the 'deux ex machina' too much that made things such an ass-pull (a.k.a. The magic bagpack). I... more>> was really hoping for MC to grow & develop stronger thru survival skills, which she did in a way, but I wish it happened in a much smarter or practical way and not just because of some magic bag-slash-survival-kit (which ALSO btw, was never explained whatsoever).

As for the romance, while the ML had that typical cold-overbearing-borderline-yandere qualities, it didn't really bother me much since we were given the pretense of the animal world which works plausible in my logic so I guess gives leeway to his yandere behavior for me. I noted some of reviews pointing out their copulating episode in the cave, but to me it was clear she gave consent? Already that they could do it though?
Spoiler

i mean since she got back to her world for 3 years and had the time to mature and reflect about everything, she went to the beast world clearly indicating she was already accepting him and everything that follows to being with him?

[collapse]

I guess it was only the ending that felt a bit rushed to me

Spoiler

especially the part of her getting preggo, cuz considering it was presented as such a huge concern on her part, I thought we would've been given a more elaborate story on that, and the event that follows when she came back for longer terms like the tribe situation? Laurence didn't die, right? Is he still tryna usurp Ryan? What about the wolf clan? What happened to Holden?heck, what is even up with Ryan suddenly acquiring guns? How did he even purchase them?heck where did he even get money???

[collapse]

A lot of the trivial issues were left unanswered but if you are just here for the romance story itself I guess its fine? Overall <<less

The story is about a girl who was thrown in an another world because of an accident. The plot was good and the characters are not one dimentional. Tho near the end of the story, I don't like the ML a very little bit. He's possessive to the MAX. Our MC is strong-willed girl and I love her character. The story is full of action which I'm impressed and the flow of the story will not make you bored at all.

I really, really like this novel. Yes, at some point their relationship may seem toxic or disturbing to some people, and I wouldn't argue that. Some parts are distressing, socially immoral and not really sugar-coated, but the thing is that it is still sweet, nevertheless. Take a look at the tags. If it does seriously disturb you, you will hate it to the core. But it honestly doesn't really bother me at this point anymore. I have certain criteria for the heartthrob ML, and if he meets them I usually... more>> have no qualms about the rest. Even if they do not meet, I don't have much to say either if the interactions of the characters and the storytelling are satisfying enough. And in this case, the ML meets some of my criteria pleasantly while betraying some of them disappointingly. The storytelling and the world building are nice and I like the MC very much as well. All in all, it is a good read and very absorbing, it didn't bore me in the slightest even at the slowest parts. That's mainly because of the vivid universe the story takes place in and the unrestrained, realistic to its own world building way the beastmen in general behaved, especially the ML. It kept going till the end with its own flavor, and never once did it betray the readers when it came to being loyal to its own setting, despite the mess of plot holes all over. I LOVE the ML and that makes it worth it all.

Spoiler

The start of the story is very intriguing and doesn't hint much to the later parts. We simply get to know the MC. Her strength, intelligence, tenacity, strong determination, and her soft heart. She is very perceiving of the situation she is in and tries to make the best choices possible to stay alive. However, she is still very gentle and tries her best to protect the little cub she regards as her first and only companion in this strange world. She is very persistent when it comes to saving him, despite being very weak and scared herself in actuality. She is afraid of the unknown universe, the wild beasts that attack her abruptly, and being all on her own in this dangerous land. Despite all that, she doesn't want to implicate those around her, and tries to solve her problems on her own. Without her knowing, these attributes impress the ML genuinely, and he unknowingly falls in love with her cureless. He himself tries to deny the fact, but soon realizes the truth and decides to hold on to this treasure.

First of all, he is passionate. He is like a beast. No, he IS a beast. A very cruel and indifferent, yet a very doting and affectionate beast. Also, true to its title, a very gentle beast. We can clearly see just how much he tries to restrain the overbearing beast inside him just so that he won't scare her away, to the point of deceiving her, even driving her to painful despair despite feeling her grievance, just to keep her by his side. Whether he succeeds or not, is not the problem. He obviously fails, a lot, in his attempt to hide his cruelty. Actually, he is generally very honest. He rarely hides his beastly side from her, and he clearly indicates the fact that he seizes whatever he wants regardless of the other party's will. But she is so frail, so timid that he knows he will lose her if he simply keeps pushing. He knows that he has to win her heart, along with her consent, to be with her. He does hold some of his ferocity back, while still monopolizing her in his pawns. He manipulates her life to his heart's content and believes he has every right to. Later, he is willing to comply with her desire to take things slowly, but his true temperament doesn't allow him to rein his beastly side in too much, and when he cannot deceive her anymore he tries to take her by force, which he has to regret later. He doesn't abandon his imposing side however, and when she willingly returns to his side, he keeps holding onto her forcibly, refusing to believe how she truly does want to be with him. And when he sees her sincere heart, he devotes himself to her, and agrees to do anything to keep being with her, even if it means doing things contradicting his real nature. And that's when I genuinely felt that he was truly a commendable ML, one that deserves to stay with the woman he loves. He can even do things that are very hard for him to do due to his own essence. Their worlds are utterly disparate, their natures conflicting severely, but they do try to make amends for the hardships, sacrificing their own bottom lines. Especially the MC. She is in a very difficult environment, facing several hardships and unable to fully accept the regulations. However, she still endures all that for her love, a love that is extremely difficult to bear, one that requires endless sacrifices. The male is lead is a very unfathomable and strenuous person to love, but she accepts all of him without reserve, despite all her sufferings. The ML is also willing to accept things that are very unlike his personality and life, simply because he wants to be with her, and for her to be happy. They do make an unorthodox but affectionate couple, and I am in love with their love.

[collapse]

I binge-read it overnight, and I truly felt their love, their desire to overcome the hardships. It was all very genuine, and that's why I like this novel, despite all the shortcomings and the unintelligible plot holes. I will definitely check out the other works of the author. <<less

So it actually wasn't that bad. I read some of the other comments, and I was nearly scared off from this story because I thought ML was going to be super yandere and force her in all kinds of things and whatnot. But honestly, that's not the case, and a previous reviewer even misread the story???

Spoiler

He let her complete her degree, and visited her world with her in order to see her parents. Although there was the "fortunately, she died" sentence, they were already fairly on in age and her father had already passed away. Before they were sick, she visited at a consistent pace. After her father passed, she pushed herself to cross back and forth and it really hurt her body, and her mother was also in pain without her father before she passed. I didn't really feel like the author was trying to kill them off.

That said, I still wish he was more willing to live in her world with her. Just as he feels uncomfortable in her world, she would be much more so in his. She has her loved ones and she's utterly powerless in his world; she has no social life at all or anything apart from ML in his. To be fair though, she didn't complain about this, so I guess outsiders shouldn't comment on their relationship if they're happy. But she literally HAS NOBODY EXCEPT ML. He doesn't even let her son get close...

He also never r*ped her (I think). Their first time was after she had given her consent (I think?? there was an incident where it almost happened and she tasered him, but I don't think they did it then), although there were some abandonment issues and it wasn't exactly fairies and sprinkles. But she did totally consent, and she was no longer a minor.

[collapse]

As a whole I liked the story. The writing was quite good, and it made you not really pay attention to all the (many, fairly ridiculous) plotholes in the story. She had a golden finger, but she's so powerless it's not that big a deal.

Spoiler

Except the gunpowder thing at the end. Introducing it to a world not ready for it only harms everyone and ruins the ecology, but fortunately realism isn't a thing.

[collapse]

I do hate that the author described her as "barely half his height" though, that's disturbing... and his size is even large for his race, doesn't she get ripped apart?????? To be fair although the author describes her in pain, it's not described that often... but still, why don't authors like their females to also feel good during sex????

Anyway, it's not bad. ML doesn't like her in pain and does listen to her, he's spoiling and cherishes her. <<less

I really have not read one like this. I liked it but it is not my usual type.

I love soapy drama and this novel has more realism. My summary is long because I thought this one was different from what I normally read.

there is comedy, and most is from just misunderstandings or not knowing. I.e. he is afraid she is dying when she has her period.

summary: FL transmigrates and meets a wounded leopard cub that is ML. Temporarily he has the form of a young person but that goes away... more>> about half way through. This is a good plot point because it allows for him to stay by her side and learn about her because he does not react as strongly to her pheromones since he is not in possession of an adult form. It also allows the FL to form an attachment and learn about her new situation. Her goal is to go home.

there are no living humans. There are different clans with further classifications like herbivore and carnivore. It is a strange world because the moose clan for instance looks humanoid but has fur but the wolf and leopard clans look like humans (but with the the ears). Even more creepy is that the animal laws don’t change carnivores hunt and eat others who are like humans I.e. leopards eat elk people (they talk, etc. so it feels weird)

s*x is extremely present but it serves a very thematic purpose because of pheromones, estrus, and the fact that there are few females. When she ovulates she is in more danger. But she is not mol*sted or assaulted but the danger does exist. I (this is not a smut where the female Lead is ‘sexually assaulted by a lot of men but loses v**ginity to male lead’ instead she must think and plan carefully to protect herself and prevent this from happening. If you want that then look elsewhere. She is clever)

There ARE s*x scenes near the end. Lots of s*x. If you are like me and enjoy s*x scenes in the novel then that is a pro. They aren’t flowery but they aren’t hardcore erotica. I wish they had been more descriptive.

1) a lot of detail is given to survival. This girl suffers a transmigration of sorts and with the assistance of ‘her space’ (if you watched dbz think capsule core capsule) she has access to camping gear, food, etc which is a necessity to survive in a land inhabited by shapeshifters and beast men and women. She encounters ML very early on and they travel together. I was pulled in with the simple practical aspect of surviving like looking for shelter, dealing with periods which is a BIG deal because it produces a scent....

2) the FL is NOT an OP but she is very smart and practical and learns to teach herself using books and items from her space. She is also human and cries when it is realistic and normal.

3) the FL is at risk of being r*ped because rules of nature apply here and it is not viewed as r*pe. However, she defends herself and it never happens. She is not a victim but she also has normal reactions.

4) the FL struggles with the implications and issues of hooking up with someone who can shape shift (I.e. it does seem weird to her at first since I argue he is not a human who looks like an animal but an animal who looks like a human based on his mind not appearance)

5) the ML is possessive but respects the word NO. His efforts to control have consequences.

6) the first half a lot of conflict centers on understanding and survival the second half shifts towards navigating relationships with someone and it is very much a theme that conflict derives from the fact that they are not both human and therefore think differently.

finally,

the FL is resistant to engaging In s*x but it has less to do with being pure and more about being 16. She is afraid but I would say she is missish... and she is worried about pregnancy because in this world the concept of contraceptives is nonexistent since you have to keep numbers up by birthing more. People, die very easily it is jungle law. Not to mention she really wants to go home. Having s*x with ML would be like shutting that door. <<less

In the beginning MC was smart with bit of naiveness in her just as what you would expect from a girl her age.. But as chapters passed she became the symbol of the ultimate s*upid ret*rd and uselessness. She doesn’t learn from her past mistakes and kept on doing things that makes me facepalm.

There is also so many deus ex machina plot holes that got introduced farther along in the storyline.. That my face is now fully concaved inwards from too much facepalming.

The fact that ML is a beast is actually the most intruiging part of the novel. MC suffers from culture shock and it's very realistic, considering she transmigrated to a beastman world with different norms (strength-based hierarchies, survival of the fittest, etc). This novel shines with it's realistic portrayal of fear of getting lost, yearning for home, and the hope that you'll get back home someday. Romance progression is slow and natural as well.

Spoiler

It's just that it's all very shallow and cliched at times. This could have had more depth, but it doesn't.

Also, it might be too realistic at the end there. Personally, that epilogue with her parents just made me terribly sad and the kid didn't give me any fluffy feelings to counteract that unhappiness. It ended in a really sad note so I'm left with a bit of a bad impression.

Story 4.5/5, TL 4.5/5

A very well rounded plot from start to end, the ending left me satisfied as well as it tied up all the loose ends from the two worlds. I agree w many of the reviewers here, the animalistic aspects of the beast men are v well represented/realistic.

This isn't the usual fluffy story about cute animal spirits, author built a parallel world that has its own species, hierarchy and system.

Was a ride journeying together w the MC exploring the beast world and seeing her carving out a place... more>> of her own in that world. She has a good head on her shoulders, she doesn't abandon one world for another and did her best to resolve all conflict in a level headed manner.

The 'problematic' aspects some readers had may come from the romance w ML. But bear in mind he is ultimately a beast and thus should not be morally judged by human values. Personally I enjoyed their unconventionally love. This story is a rare gem amongst others of similar (non-human w human relationship) genre. <<less

MC remain filial to her parents until they died and find way to visit her parents, also, finished her study on the human world despite living in the leopard tribe.

The MC is quite intelligent and independent especially in the first half of the book. There are times that she became whiny & flighty that can make other readers frustrated, however, her emotional distress and doubts are all understandable especially when she came from other world.

I just hope that she became friends within the tribes. But due to her being being different plus the tribe's nature and ML's possessiveness are the reasons why she can't... LMAO

ML is a beast so despite being forceful sometimes, you can understand him due to the violent nature of the world. I love seeing how he changed to accommodate her (only for her). Thus, being supportive son-in-law.

Plus points is the ML getting jealous to his own son. Hahahaha <<less

I adore this story. It was the first translated story I've ever read and it made me obsessed with the genre. The MC is relatable and isn't TSTL. She has her moments but overall I liked her. I was surprised to find this by the same author as Chongfei Manual. This one has almost none of the other one's flaws. The MC is surprisingly strong and independent; despite being human and physically much weaker than the beastmen, she is able to use her intelligence, knowledge (and help from the hidden space) to escape predators and aim to return to her own world. The story was paced well and progressed logically.

Spoiler

I like that the MC separated from the ML eventually in order to figure out her own feelings clearly and not be another Stockholm syndrome type character. I dislike how abundantly OP the ML was. I think the author could have used the chance of the ML being in an unfamiliar place to inject some humor or give him some understandable flaws/foibles. Unfortunately, perfect!ML is perfect at everything and figures out how to drift a car just by watching people on TV.

The worldbuilding in this is really good! I feel there is a good balance between descriptions, inner monologue, and plot progression. I was able to read all the way through without getting bored as the pacing is great-- when the plot is slow the character development fills in.

The main character is realistic for her age. She's quite clever, but is still a kid thrown into an extreme survival situation. She breaks down and cries, but then she gets up and does what she has to to survive.

Although the ML does... more>> "save" her, to some degree it's almost like... He does it partly to keep control of her, not because she is innately helpless without him. Although the beast people continually call her weak and fragile, that really just extends to her being human and not a beast. She herself is remarkably enduring, and even dangerous.

The cultural dufferences between different tribes and humans is quite interesting. I felt there is a good balance where the MC keeps a hard line on her values and changes some things for the better, but at the same time it doesn't go into "my culture is just better and yours is tr*sh." She respects their differences and recognizes how it comes from their differing environments.

I am glad that the r*pe tag was included as a warning. There is a lot of normalized r*pe culture among the beast people. There are two instances where the MC is attacked by beast men other than the ML and has to defend herself, though neither gets very graphic.

The ML's assaults do get more graphic. It's odd for me to review it as a survivor myself. I will say it has a lot of the common gross stuff like "I won't be able to hold back next time" lines. It's not as bad as a lot of other things I've read, and I think it's because the MC retains agency in the story even when other people try to take it away. Worth noting I don't think there is much of an age difference between MC and ML given the difference in body development between humans and beastmen. ML by my calculations should be between 14-16 years old at the start of the story while the MC is 16.

There is discussion of consent the MC and ML to some degree. The beast people don't really have a concept of consent-- literally the MC talks with a beast woman about it and she doesn't understand. There are a lot of problems in the relationship, and it could definitely be argued that the MC has Stolkholm Syndrome. But I do feel she is given agency by the narrative rather than being a passive character that others act upon.

For me, because of this I'm able to enjoy it for what it is. The writing is good, the worldbuilding is great, the characters are interesting. The story also doesn't shy away from bodies and directly addresses things like menstruation and birth control. I learned that folks in ancient China folded ash inside cloth and used it as a pad. They also address how the human reproductive cycle is much more brutal than most other mammals.

(Interesting article here: https://aeon. co/essays/why-pregnancy-is-a-biological-war-between-mother-and-baby)

The ending had a few things that I felt we're unbelievable
Spoiler

(ML can suddenly read Chinese, knows how to drive a car, was able to find a black market etc. WTF?)

[collapse]
but it was still satisfying so I could overlook it.

Overall, if you can accept standard consent failure that is typical of romance novels, then it is definitely worth a read. I really loved it! <<less

I loved this.

If you are tired of strong, cunning, OP Mc's and wants to read a kinda (? Lol em not sure too hahaha) light and fluffy (? Whooops) genre, this one's for you.

The story is lovable and it's plot—although cliche, the way it was written is refreshing. I like how the worldbuilding was taken in account and how the MC and ML was designed.

The MC is weak, fragile, clumsy yet at the same time strong and courageous. She is in the midst of a nowhere in a new... more>> world and her emotions and feelings were realistically portrayed—not just in one chapter but the proceeding chapter too. Her inner conflicts, her struggles, all of it was displayed, offered so the readers could digest it slowly.

The ML is a beast—and he stayed like that till the end. THUMBS UP TO THAT AUTHOR! He didn't hide his flaws, he didn't change but adjusted instead: He makes sure no blood scent is there when he hunts, he learned "human" things and such just so he could please his "spouse".

I felt the ending was quite rushed—but the novel was still good nonetheless.A good read I must say! ? <<less
