The night before we obtained our marriage certificate, I asked him, “When did you start to develop feelings for me?”

He answered, “I don’t remember.”

“But, why me?”

“Why not you?”

“I’m very petty, and I get jealous very easily.”

“So am I.”

“I’m afraid I’m not worthy of you.”

“So am I.”

“I haven’t really dated, so I don’t know what love is.”

“I don’t know either.”

He held my hand gently, “But I know this. When I think about spending the rest of my life with you, I feel that my future is filled with hope.”

At 16, we used the same class desk, with less than 10cm between our arms. My peripheral vision was full of him.

At 26, I woke up in the morning, and saw the sunlight softly shining on his face. I thought, this is how I want to grow old – gradually, together, with him.

I guess this must be love.

This was extremely good. It was mostly a biography and points on life. It was funny, realistic, and extremely loving. In the beginning you slowly enjoy it and by the end you'll forever remember it

This short novel was an absolute delight. I immensely enjoyed the interactions between the main couple, and their friends. I loved how it depicts the sweet and not so sweet moments in relationships. It is a great reminder that we are not perfect and neither are the people around us. The translation was also excellent. If you want a break from face-slapping, angsty stories, then this is the perfect story to warm your soul.

I have enjoyed this reading so much, it depicts real life, very interesting. The relationship as explained is never smooth sailing but rather an understanding between two people. Beautifully done, the friendship between the girlfriends, college life, misunderstanding and the growth. Some parts in the reading made me laugh so much, I just could not put this book down. Thank you so much for the translators, we appreciate all the effort put in the work.

This is a collection of memories from the author, hence it is a bunch of short stories. Cute

Although there's not chronological order to her list of stories but the flow works out well as one story reveals a connection to the previous.

Nothing dramatic, all very reliable.

Very light read. Easy pick up and drop off.

Recommend if you need a sugar boost during the day. It is impossible to keep a straight face while reading this.

I simply fell in love with Chinese writings after reading this piece of fluff. ? --

Aiya?! I'm sure that I rated this 5 STARS! If I could, I'll give it 11! How come it's only 2 stars? How can I edit this? ≪/3

wahhh!!! I honestly love this short, yet sweet story. It's more of like little snippets of the author's life with her husband and she makes it undeniably real and heartwarming. This is totally different from what I usually read so far.

definitely worth reading.

This is somewhat of an autobiographical depiction of the author's relationship with her husband.

It's very fluffy for the most part, but don't let that fool you. There are bits and pieces of the story that is heart-wrenching and gives a melancholic vibe to the whole book. They're thankfully short, though, so most of the novel is sweet, cute and happy. Since it's autobiographical, the structure follows a slice-0f-life theme and stays true to that. Reading it gave a very realistic sense of what life was like for our main couple,... more>> especially when it came to parts where they have misunderstandings and disagreements.

I envy Ms. Qiao Yi for finding such a devoted husband, but she keeps it real. He's not Mr. Perfect, but close enough :).

It's a short read, worth your reading time. <<less

This is so heartwarming. Idk if it would be depressing to someone not in a relationship/with decent familial bonds.

Worth reading.

Slice of life novel---there's no better description! For both the ups and the downs of human relationships, the author touches on them all with an ever-present sense of humor and wit. The subsequent life advice contained therein is very relatable as well. It is mainly focused on the relationship between the author and her husband, but friends and family hold as important a place in her heart and story. I feel like my soul has been revived!my skin is clear and my crops are watered

A true slice of life gem. Gentle, fun, casually told yet at the same time flavorful, touching and deeply reflecting from numerous experiences.

Words can't express how much admiration I have for Joey, and how much this novel amazes me. If this novel fits the genre you're looking for, then it's simply not one to be missed.

I enjoyed the writing style with the short anecdotes and the tl. I thought this would be 1) fictional and 2) cute (former is false, latter is kinda true) but mostly, incredibly, it’s hilarious. I see familiar bits of ppl I know in both the narrator and her husband, and it’s nice to see that she likes and thinks well on her relationship

I won't rate since it's rude to judge real life relationships willy-nilly. It's authors choice. But since she published a story I like to give my review. This has very high ratings that's the reason to check the story. I gave up after 70% or something of story reading. Good for joey I don't find Mr F romantic or attractive at all. I don't like how he constantly tell her she's dumb and she began to subconsciously agree. Also it's all from her perspective so actual relationship probably not so... more>> cute and all. I think typical relationship between ENFP and INTJ is portrayed here. If it's that it totally make sense why I don't like it cause INTJ s are my least favourite for romance lead. Anyway long story short I don't get the ratings and the fuss. I came across live action drama, Janice wu is one of my favourite Chinese actors but I couldn't get into it. That's underwhelming. Mr F is just so so. <<less

Overall rating 4.5 /5

Love this refreshing "chicken soup for the soul" autobiography!! It has everything : 酸,甜,苦,辣 (sour, sweet, bitter, spicy). You can definitely see the love between the author and Mr F. Love and marriage is to accept, adapt, put effort and commitment. I love the banter between them as well as her and her friends are hilarious at times and can be thought provoking at others. I wish them many years of blissful marriage 执子之手与子偕老. The only thing I would have preferred was that the story be written... more>> in chronological order. It was a bit distracting jumping from her working life /current life to school life back and forth. It's like I just got immersed in her current description of her school life expecting the next chapter to be a continuation but then it cut to her working life and then several chapters later, she refers back to her school life. <<less

It was a short and sweet autobiography.

I really like how it didn't just focus on the author and her husband and also gave some spotlight to her friends' lives. I learned a lot of life lessons throughout the 18 chapters of the book.

Since it is an autobiography, the relationship development between Joey and Mr. F is written realistically. Though it did sound like some campus love novel at first, being able to read Joey's thoughts on her decisions and her feelings made me feel like 'Ah, this is truly real'.... more>> Their relationship is honestly just too adorable and heartwarming. Mr. F really loves Joey so much that he really waited for her to grow up from her immaturity and inferiority and Joey loves Mr. F so much that she was willing to quit her stable job and rush to meet ML and reconcile with him.

I honestly relate a lot to Joey and Mr. F's perspectives on relationships since I do have someone that I plan on spending my whole life with. I understand the feeling of those torturous moments of waiting for your special other, frustrations of not doing enough for the other person and wanting to stay beside your partner in every single moment of your life. I really do agree that it is better to take a long time to learn to be with one person rather than trying it out with multiple people before settling with the one. I know it's a huge risk and I may fail my gamble, but I believe that my boo is worth the risk uwu. <<less

DON'T MIND THE COVER THIS IS SO CUTEEEEEEEEEEE

*takes a deep breath* no, I have to lower your expectations.

General Idea: a cute love story abt a semi-old married couple in diary entries (I believe it's an autobiography) with a dash of other stories from the author's youth (main emphasis still on romance tho).

If you don't feel like you'll like it, please don't read it.

Spoiler

The idea of someone finding this story as dislikeable/bad makes me feel sad.

My very first chinese novel! I got interested in it because I watched le coup de foudre and they say it's based on true story.

Chapter 1 already gives you so much fluff! I couldn't help myself but smiling and giggling throughout the book. It even better knowing that this is based on real life. Now I have read many chinese novel but this is still my number 1 favorite c-novel!

I love every story of the character in this book. Joey, Mr. F, her brother, Hao WuYi, dorm leader, goddess, and... more>> little C! How I wish she explained more about little C's romance story with the campus kingka omg how can her surrounding including her has romance story that is similar to dramas and novels we usually see!

I wish I found my own Mr. F❤ <<less

This story was very sweet but very realistic, relatable and reflective.

Joey (the FL) is the one writing the book and takes us through their love and marriage. In this story, we don't see a billionaire, off-charts handsome young master and a super beautiful FL. NOPE. Here we read about ordinary middle class people with real struggles in school, their jobs, trying to fund a balance between work life and family life, conflicts and quarrels in their marriage etc.

The story is easy to read and is also very funny as the... more>> husband and wife have very different personalities. We are that their love grows as they get to know each other better and learn to appreciate both the flaws and virtues in each other. We also read about their friends, families etc.

All in all this was such a simple but great novel. <<less
