I was hyped up to read this novel when I saw the overall ratings it had but it was quite a disappointment. I dropped after a few chapters into the 4th arc because the novel was so dry and uninteresting. Most times, I'd just mindlessly read it and had to reread the previous paragraphs because my mind wasn't into the story lol. It felt like watching a cheaply produced idol C-drama.

But, I like how the MC and ML do their jobs, especially the ML. It's quite uncommon to have the... more>> MC being the cold, indifferent type in stories and I especially like it here! The ML's behaviour is ok to me (there's a yandere tag for a reason). Morally though, it's up to you. I'd say that he's definitely a more intense yandere than the other yanderes I've read before.

What I don't like is how I don't feel connected to the characters at all. 3 arcs in and I was still indifferent to them except for a few moments when I thought they're cute together. Usually I'd feel something for the side characters (usually hate, disgust, pity, etc) but I just feel... nothing reading the stories. They're the true cannon fodders lol

I'd say that the 2nd arc wasn't worth the read because it was so messy. Too many characters were introduced in a short time. The flow of the story was messy which might be because of the arc's storyline itself. Everything that happened would be explained in the last few chapters of the arc which were the chapters worth reading because it also hinted at the MC's past and ML's story.

Don't feel bad if you didn't understand the 2nd arc. The author didn't do a great job at explaining how things happen in it. If the majority of readers don't understand what's happening, believe me, it's the writing. <<less

Most worlds were typical stories while there were few that really stood out to me like the arc titled " The Strongest Daoist" where a bug occured the moment the MC went to the world. A lot happened there because instead of going to the assigned body, she became a ghost and ghosts weren't exactly on friendly terms with the people there so when they found out they tried to kill her but of course our General Su wouldn't let them so he did something against the rules (as an agent) in order to save MC which made him get locked up. So right at the next arc is a redemption task where Su Wan does a task with no clues or background given to her, and she needs to survive for a specific amount of time to complete the mission and free Su Rui from prison. That was such a good arc because compared to most arcs where they knew the story beforehand so they narrate it first before actually doing the missions, in this arc Su Wan knew nothing, so she doesn't trust anyone and is on edge on almost everything. It was also a mystery criminal kind of mission so that makes it more suspense. After that they got together again then back to the normal arcs until the very climax of the novel, the examination arc. I like that arc the best because Su Wan and Su Rui sealed their memories of each other, so while they knew one another, they don't remember their intimate feelings. It was so interesting to see them be wary of each other yet they also can't seem to hurt one another so they ended up being confused as to why xD. Su Wan was also the one that flirts first despite not having her memory back yet, although at some point she did got it back which made her flirt even more lmao. I believe Su Rui got his memories back almost at the end but even though it was later than MC, he never did anything to hurt her, though he kept on threatening her xD. Their love was too strong that the exam ended with their memories back already. It was also nice that Xu Ce got a background reveal and it showed that it wasn't really his fault for leaving Su Wan. It was a bit sad that they loved each other but missed one another, and now that Xu Ce just realized his feelings, Su Wan already has Su Rui. I like that he didn't try to force his feelings on her, he admitted that he loves her but knows that she's happy with Su Rui now so he didn't try to get in between them. I'm glad he also got an extra chapter where it's pretty much hinted that he got together with the lady that waited for him for a thousand of years.

Overall, this was a good read. Not all arcs are the best but there were remarkable ones. It's not like there were worst arcs as well so I don't have anything against it. I just think it would have been better if Su Wan and Su Rui got together a bit longer than they did, because I believe they got together just at the 6th arc and they're a couple from then onward. It's not so bad but I felt like it would have been more fun if we got to see General Su chasing for his wife awhile more longer hehe. <<less

I can’t get into it. I guess it’s because it’s how it’s translated, but it’s very badly written, and some of the sentences make no sense. A lot of the sentences are really drug out, when they could be way more concise and easier to understand. There is also way too much going on in the first chapter with the rebirth and transmigration stuff, it’s just weird. There was no need to give such a background to either character, it’s just off putting.

A nice worldhopping with FL and Ml. Diff kind of twist unlike othrr stories. You can see Fl' development of slowly opening up to ML. ML is consistent and caring to Fl. For me they're already powerful themselves so that they can resolve the world/their mission. Though ML is more focused on FL than his mission hahaha

Anyways leaving here firts cause am kinda drained, there's more chaps so I know where I stopped

This novel is one of the best quick transmigrations that I read. I would recommend this to people who wants an overpowered MC and the ML is a devoted one. Good story! Love it so much ❤❤❤

Honestly a 4.5 stars (because it wasn't perfect) rounded up, because it was a mighty enjoyable QT story. It didn't go on for thousands of chapters (thank god!), is done translating (time to binge, yeet!), and had a beautiful balance of intense storyline/plot twists + main romance. That's what I'm here for y'all!!

I would really recommend this for readers who enjoy OP main leads that are true power couples, in every world they end up in, with intricate QT arcs and a fun overarching story. The author really pulled out... more>> plot twist after plot twist, which made me not mind the info-dump at the beginning of each new arc. Also, (mostly) HE for those stories. :) At least, the characters/people involved get what they deserve.

TRANSLATION

All the translations are hosted on Isohungry, but there were two translators. The first one was pretty wordy with their comments within the chapter, so look out for that (but they were pretty funny comments haha). They also listed the chapters by arc. The second one used more conventional chapter numbers and didn't leave any comments. The switch was about halfway through the story. Both were pretty good. I would say the first one left a lot of pinyin untranslated for historical arcs, so that might've been a hassle to figure out (through context clues) to the new Cnovel reader. I did appreciate their video summary of Arc 1, haha! The second translator had a bit more mistakes that a proofreader might have found, but nothing too big/serious. In general the translation was readable and had good flow throughout the story.

TRANSMIGRATION ARCS

I remember starting this a couple months back and getting soo confused in the first chapter. Then I read some negative reviews and said "eh, I'll pass." For some reason I gave it a second chance, and I'm so glad I did! Start with the first first chapter on GirlyNovels, because it provides context on the overarching plot.

Right off the bat, Imma tell you that every new arc spends a chapter or two on an info dump on the plot. Idk how other QT novels do it, but the author goes very in-depth with the storyline, which usually has a bunch of twists and turns. Maybe it's the drama lover in me, but I kinda love it. Like ooh, tell me more about the substitute lover that the arc's male lead falls in love with after breaking up from our FL's transmigrated character. Yaas.

The overarching story is that the FL is from a destroyed world and became a space-time enforcer to help different worlds. Her department is "Realm Destroyer, " where her goal is to break up the main couple. The ML's department is "Realm Restoration, " where he tries to get the main couple together (lol). The concept of the space-time enforcers is super duper fun, but doesn't have much logic behind it. Why are these enforcers going around chasing after the main leads of different worlds? And isn't it counter-productive to have deparments working against each other? Etc. Maybe the explanation was lost in translation, or it's something we have to accept at face-value, but it would've been nice to be able to connect the dots a bit more.

Either way, I'm a huge fan of the transmigration arcs. We have the usual cliches such as "return of the di (legal) daughter", "substitute lover", "rich heirs and their drama", "futuristic robots", "apocalypse", "cultivation/sects", etc. We also get some new (to me) ones, such as a horror story/puzzle, a world where she had to guess the killer after her, a gender bender where the male lead transmigrates into a woman's body (like the drama Go Princess Go!), and more. I'm a reader who's not afraid to skip when things get boring, but I found myself re-reading parts of this story because it was just so engrossing.

In the beginning, it felt like the FL Su Wan was out to get the main leads by breaking them apart. Especially the male leads, because we find out how hardened her heart was to love. I do have to say, the people with bad attitudes get what they deserve and she usually spares the innocent party. I liked how in each arc, the male leads with a glowing halo but narcissistic complex, for example, gets exposed. Or the female lead with her halo and sense of righteousness gets her just desserts. It changes for each story. Later on as Su Wan's heart begins to soften, she lets nature take its course after manipulating the plot. For example, maybe the female lead would actually fall for the second male lead if they spend more time with each other. Or the question: if the male lead followed his goals without thinking about romance, where would he be? Those kinds of situations.

♥️ ROMANCE ♥️

  1. Yes, it was insta-love on the ML Su Rui's side.
  2. Yes, I still liked it.
  3. Total power couple.
Su Rui is supposed to be the brother of the body Su Wan transmigrated into in the first arc. But Su Rui, like your typical Cnovel ML out there, has some OP soul/spirit power and can see right away that Su Wan isn't his sister, but someone else. And as our typical Cnovel MLs do, he becomes obsessed with her, won't let go, and destroys the world after she finishes her mission and leaves the world. Another space-time enforcer (important character) picks him up so that he can become an agent as well.

I think it's so telling that the FL also destroyed her world/realm too, before becoming an enforcer. Wild couples stay wildin' together, ya know?

Despite the insta-love and OP main leads, which might throw off other readers, I really liked their relationship. In the beginning, Su Rui would follow Su Wan into different worlds and they end up falling in love through these missions and living their own little lives in those worlds. At first she was against romance, but he was really persistent and unconditional in his love. Her heart begins to heal, open up, and eventually accept him. It was *chef's kiss* beautifulll to see, and made their couple moments so satisfying. At some point they were like gods controlling the plot of the world in the background, while living their blessed couple life and serving dog food to other readers.

The last arc, which was a competition among space-enforcers, was pretty epic. I thought the author added some sweet points about unconditional love and sacrifice. It wasn't deep or anything, but heartwarming additions to supplement the main couple's romance and also a general message about love.

OVERALL

The only other QT novel I've read was My Disciple Died Yet Again, and while that one is a little shorter than this one, I couldn't finish it (for a whole host of problems... boring storyline, pitiful side characters, yawn-inducing romance, homophobic rampage, etc). Sinister Ex-Girlfriend was like a breath of fresh air. The arcs are cliche, but we got some good plot twists here and there, and the FL + her romance was beautiful to follow.

TL;DR Read this if you're into:

  • Lots of dog food between main couple
  • FL that goes through lots of character development after opening herself up again to love
  • Yandere ML that's 110% devoted to FL
  • Super fun transmigration arcs (I didn't find myself skipping at all!)
  • Three dimensional side characters, well-written relationships, and a great overarching message about love
  • QTs that don't span for thousands of chapters
  • And a happily ever after!

I really like it very much! I don't even know how to write this review because I just like it. The ML is devoted. It's not an exaggeration to say that he's yandere but most of the time he's a wife s*ave haha! I was kind of freaked out when they first met. I screamed in*est! But hey no need to worry. It's definitely not in*est or any of those adopted / raised as siblings kind of romance.

I didn't feel bored reading the novel as a whole. However, there are... more>> indeed 'realms' / 'planes' that were meh but I enjoy the ML and FL's interactions so much. <<less

I really like it! MC isn't as unfeeling, so cold and all when she started her mission. She had feelings that she was tryna erase unlike other MC who has no feelings. She was hurt but luckily ML was there w her.

This is different from other QT novels as there are different department planes like the rebirth; reincarnation; transmigration; and eliminator like in the marvel movies to ensure that nothing goes wrong w the timeline.

Some arcs are bland, some arcs are interesting. It depends on the reader how they view... more>> it. But its a five for me bc of the interesting different planes. And the character development!! <<less

Loooooooved it ❤ it always be a gem and one of my all time favs.... those who left the novel just by reading the first arc... ya'll missed out on just an amazing book.... the SuSu couple are goals x

I have read alot of QT novels and this has to be one of the best ones out there... strong FL... doting ML.... little bit of smut... ahh SMUT is what I look for in every BG novel...🤣

I rather read bl cuz cuples pamper each other rather than having ML do all the "work" in life and in the relationship

This novel has the Best bg relationship Ive read so far.. is similar to QWFD and had scalated to My top 3 by the thirt arc

The first arc almost Made me drop the novel, I thought all the characters where garbage based on the stereotiped idea I had about QT in the past but this is so original it needed that first arc as a background to... more>> set up the whole story ❤️❤️❤️

ML is súper cute and FL is súper strong and both are funny and fluffy, there is no cringe what so ever (thanks god cuz I hate crigy cuples)

And the method to end missions is smooth every time... I couldnt guess what was going to happen and I loved it cuz other novels are so predictable it gets boring arc after arc

My only question is what's with the sister obssetion stuff?? Did he just thought it thru and decided he didnt care that much because she abandon him first?? or because that world wasnt real he just went with that??

I don't mind it just that a little explanition wold be more like him... Like a declaration of getting over it would let it all roud up

Tho thinking about it more with his perseptiveness maybe he knew she was her even tho she wasnt at the time if that makes any sense?

Pretty good story, they take time to show you how the male and female leads are. One thing that was a bit annoying was that as the novel progressed, each arc got shorter and less convoluted. I think the story could have had lesser arcs with more fullfilling story lines. You can sort of see where the female lead is coming from, and see a slow change in her character. I liked the ending too, it wasn't too cheesy or too complicated. I think as someone who loved reading these... more>> types of novels it was funny to see rebirth and switched at birth stories from a villain's point of view. Like in any other novel you would be waiting for the reborn female lead to succeed but here you are on the side of the cannon fodder. The only major bad point about the novel is the number of arcs it goes through, it can get a bit boring time after time. Plus they never really go into why the male lead became obsessed with the female lead, I think they should have had that story. Also, at the beginning there a transition time between various worlds, that gave the read some off time but by the end the writer removed that transition period. It felt that she wanted to go through as many cliched plot lines as possible but that made the novel feel too long and might make people want to drop the story. <<less

This story reminds me of my disciples died once again but I prefer this novel because I enjoyed reading this though it got 400+ chapters I really enjoyed the whole story. I got the feeling the author read too much novel with a lot of loopholes and decided to put it together in this novel and decided to fix it hahaha. Highly recommended I was never bored because it has alot of arcs. I feel I'm reading different kind of stories all in one novel.

It’s a really good story, the main couple is sweet and they didn’t have much trouble getting together, everything happening at the right time.

At some point, they just kept entering worlds when all I wanted was the big showdown to happen already, the worlds were basically the author spoon feeding us sugar and dog food :/

Anyway, the ending was perfect and the extra chapters more so, because it followed Su Wan’s original world plot. But with the addition of a very infatuated Su Rui.

Really, you should check this novel out!

No wonder this is familiar xD I read the 2nd book before this ahh QAQ anyway this is good too (They shared same universe)

MC is destroyer who destroying those two faced female dog and slag husband. She transmigration into every cannon fodder and make that slag husband/ boyfriend regret.

She is cold and aloof and her past life is tragic because she was cannon fodder and her happiness was stole by heroine and was hatred by people. She became destroyer after meeting transmigrated or world create and unlike other novel MC, she is interesting and likable that make you like her more because of her personality. She make that two faced female dog heroine and protagonist of world hate each other haha. She is cool and badass. Male lead is yandere and cute when it's come to MC. He love our MC too much even destroyed the world when MC disappears in his world. He watch drama to learn how to make MC notice him or trying to make MC like him. There is also many likable arcs here. It was shorter than other QT that I've read (most of it were like thousands) but the interesting part here is that the ML remembers. It reminds me of the 2nd book. I love that too <<less

I want to give this 3 stars but it is okay I guess so, 4 stars. One sentence to describe this, Mary Sue and Gary Tu. Let's start with the good part, the arcs are simple and fun. The romance are quite realistic and no waiting until 200 chapter before it started. I like the MC and ML but warning it is bloody and violent at some part.

I only have bad aftertaste because the most protagonists in the arcs didn't seemed to be bad? Like it is just a role... more>> reversal, the previous canon fodder now have good ending, they were driven to be bad bla bla and vice versa for the protagonists after MC came. Like the premise is the same thing but they reversed the role? I don't remember which novel that have the same premise as this novel but at least the other one the protagonists actually have black heart that manipulated the innocent bystanders to be canon fodder. Simply said, they doesn't deserve their counterpart. The title is second character something I think.

I'm dropping this but it is recommended to others! Don't think too much like me lol. <<less
