A messenger of heaven appeared among the chaotic crowds

Carrying in hand a sacred treasure, and the flames of hope

Alongside those that sought out their destines

To seal the root of evil, the lord of demons

They brought along the light of hope to illuminate the dark night

… They were the ‘heroes’

The warriors of salvation chosen by god

Cute, sweet story. A bit childish at times for me personally but I enjoyed it overall.

Too, too adorable I could scream into a pillow while rolling on my bed.

The story of the Hero of the Sword, Marie, making her way to defeat the Demon King while making allies by sweets. It was a pleasantly fluffy sweet story, a light read to freshen you from a hard day or such. It has some kind of healing effect, I must say.

If I had anything to complain, it would be that ... more>>

MY DESIRED, LONG-AWAITED ROMANCE GOT CUT SHORT

and that is all. I would like to minus one star for that but in the end, I couldn't.

One more thing

Spoiler

That Zelos' line in the end got me. I couldn't stop myself from bursting out in laughter when I reach the words "baby dragon". There's no other way to express it more bluntly but it seems like Marie didn't notice that and only focused on the "dragon blood" thing and complained about the metallic after taste in her mouth every morning. Good grief Marie, how dense can you get? If I still hold this much feeling after a few days I would probably start drawing something up, which is no good for me right now. Stop it, myself. But oh well, that's how much I love this cute little story.

If you decided to read the story after reading this review, I recommend you to find some pastry to eat while reading. I read this in the middle of the night, with no food available within reach, and now I have to suffer a huge craving for sweets while writing this review. <<less

Sweet is the best world to describe this one-shot. I really liked the world building and the protagonist is just really likeable and hilarious

Most short stories are not long enough to make a deep impact, but this one was hilarious; a joy to read. Fantastic idea, execution, and translation. Dense but talented chef!MC forced to go out into the world to slay a demon king... in a very unconventional manner. Re-read worthy!

It is quite a hilarious fantasy story based on the typical hero vs demon king template with some ridiculous twists.

Still I gave it a 4 star because the second half lack good transitions and flow. I understand things happen and they are not completely included in the story, but at least make it less confusy for readers to catch on.

Quite a fun read nonetheless.

This is a super cute short story about a dense 28-year old baker woman who just became the Sword Hero.

That's all I'm going to write about this -- it's a really short story so anything else will just spoil it.

You can finish reading the whole thing in around 10 minutes. You might as well try it.

I had a lot of fun with this story. It has love, comedy, expectation, the protagonist is a genius, and it has a very nice ending.

I recommend it a lot for those people who have a monotonous life, or are still single. From one day to another, one's life can change enormously without warning.

I loved Zelo!!

Ahhh so cute! At first I was a lil turned off because the story is in first person point of view. However, I adjusted my mindset and ended up enjoying it... glad I didn't give up on it. :)

MC, Marie, is a 28 year old, unmarried, somewhat dense pastry chef. She inadvertently became a "hero" when she pulled out the holy sword. And then her adventure begins as her country sends her out to defeat the Demon King.

Spoiler

In her travels, she meets and saves ML, Dragon King Zelosphede. He tags along as she picks up more and more comrades. Eventually they meet the Demon King Milouge who is a lil girl of 6 or 7 years of age. In the end, MC sets up a new country with her comrades and raises Milouge like her own child.

[collapse]

There isn't much romance since MC is the narrator and she is unaware ML is attracted to her. But the bits that are revealed are cute. <<less

The perfect hilarious short story doesn't exi....

This one is pretty much perfect. The Hero bakes her way through all her trials and basically heals the world through communication, kindness, and common sense.

A beautiful story filled with candies and goodies and lots and lots of cute, heartfelt moments? Sign me up!

Spoiler

This one-shot is a simple story which peers into the life of a baker whose parents left her in her early childhood and she was left to fend off for herself and when she actually ends up fending and defending her bakery, she realises she had already become of age.

[collapse]

Spoiler

Pros:

  1. Extremely lovable characters, so much that you actually feel as if if they were in front of you, you would have bone-crushed hugged them!
  2. The romance isn't the leading prospect but fluff, however, is!
  3. The female lead, the baker turned hero, is a beautiful yet Mary-Sue kind of character but still has a bit of eccentricity.

Cons:

  1. What happened to the hero with the bow? No ending? Not even a glimpse of his future? That was a bit disappointing for me.
  2. The last paragraph actually irked me and gave me the creepy vibes when the male lead, the dragon king, without the FL's content tried to do something like that and apart from a single mention by the FL, nothing is done or said to condemn that, and I hate it
[collapse]

So overall, I will give this story a 4.5/5! A great read nonetheless!

This was so much fun to read!
I have been delaying it so far with a little expectation since the title and the summary does not reveal much about the plot, but it was such a great short story. I would love to read it as manga or a longer series, though part of its charm comes from to-the-point short narrative that doesn't drag out things.

Light, sweet and fluffy.

The MC character is simple and likeable and also there is fluffy and funny interaction between each character.

No thorough worldbuilding here and there is some time skipping also, but the story' it self is enough to make you feel satisfied.

This is a short story' to lighting your day and make you happy.

This is literally such a sweet story (you know, because MC runs a bakery and sells sweets). The story is about MC who accidentally chosen to be a hero to slay a demon king. But instead slaying the demon, she successfully unites demon and human world through sweets she made.

Spoiler

I just wish I get more story about MC and dragon king. Please make a sequel, author.

Do you like sweet stories which are meant to simply pass time? Would like to read a story for maybe 15 minutes and have proper closure? If yes, this is for you. However, it is the most ordinary among the oneshots and short stories.

It does have fluff and cuteness integrated into it, but it feels like only just about the par. The fluff is nothing too brilliant or out of the box: The regular kid who is very cute, and the relationship which is very pure. There is a sincere... more>> attempt to put sweet food at the forefront, and it does add ample readability to this story. However, it is not really given full justice. That theme could have been used so much better for a more fluffy tale of pure innocence.

All in all, I definitely recommend this short read to anyone who likes fluff. However, it NOT quite Mango approved. There are fun characters, and towards the end, it pained me to see how much potential was lost. If this oneshot has a series, it will definitely be a hit. The oneshot itself is a very average read. <<less

This was simply wonderful, a great read!

Common clichés of hero-stories were beautifully turned into really sweet 'Awwww'-moments and I am very contend with the male lead! XD

And I will not complain about the story being short, bc short is better than dragged on. ;)

This story is adorable and a nice read. A few twists made it more interesting. It's a fluffy story about the female protagonist who makes some unexpected friends with her baked goods and candy plus a little romance. It is short but worth your time!

I know this is a short story, but it is begging for a sequel. This could literally be the starting chapter of an adorable and funny novel. If anyone knows how to contact the author, encourage them. This needs another 10 chapters atleast. At the minimum.

It's a quick one that I will read again.
