A must read novel.

It containst everything... a good story/plot, good characters with character development and the fights are great too. The plot armor isn't that annoying like in other novels, in fact it is pretty balanced. Great novel for people who want a gripping story that will make you wish to have more chapters.

Warning a lot of spoiler also if things don't make sense I decided to review this after stopping for almost a year now and wanted to give it my review before forgetting totally about it.

I liked the story in the beginning and love how he uses his powers to heal, but do he have to get all the most prettiest girls. Like seriously spoiler alert but damn he gets three princess, prettiest girl in his hometown, also from the snow sect, his "aunty", and the oh the girl from the... more>> past who he loves so much but doesn't love enough to the point where he won't bang other chicks. Like I be fine if he was just a womanizer but they give us this backstory about this girl is his one true love but then he gets so many different girls, if you are going to make him a harem king then don't go sprouting nonsense like he loves this girl so much. He also pretty much mol*sted all the girls at the snow sect, was there a need for that like damn he got so many pretty girls already. He probably go on and get more girls later and for that reason I am out. Also BS on the dues ex machina that happens literally all the time, oh no dragon save by jasmine. Oh no trap with demon that just so happen to be my grandfather (didn't mind as much because love the grandfather demon king) and oh no trap in boat that should kill me nope way of buddha and jasmine saving me. Like the author likes his d*ck being tuck by having many people think that the MC is dead but then comes back out of nowhere to come save the day. Also the power thing is total bullshit, he goes up a full level rank, so does that mean when he gets to the last power ranking he will be above everyone since he can go above another level? Then there the all these mythical beast giving me their soul or blood or whatever. Like damn is there not any other person worthier than him. Like total bullsh*t on the phoenix one where it was his love for that one girl that let the phoenix see his true heart, but like damn he had two side bit*h already at the time, well not yet but still. I like the world building and all that stuff, but seriously once again the troupe of villain building is nowhere to be seen. All them the same they were stronger call him tr*sh he finds power from some source or treasure and jizz all over them with his immense new power. The saving grace of the phoenix city was new and thought out better than before. If only the author didn't add the phoenix girl into his s*upid harem mix I would of had continue reading. I stop because for no really good reason his wife request the princess of her enemies to marry her husband like what. Of all ideas there was nothing better, and really the emperor approve it, this princess who was suppose to become the new pillar of their city given away like that. I also recently try reading a new chapter in the 1000s and he was trying to mol*st this new girl. I was like really, and all the people in the comment were rooting for him, so if you like a guy is a playboy, have a ton of dues ex machina, and no good villian around then this is a good story. <<less

Good premise, interesting world building (different realms, factions), at least the various female characters have a unique personalities and not just dumb broads. MC is powerful and cunning, but the numerous enemies he meets also seem to be completely brain-dead and easily foiled by MC's appearance. Lazy way of writing.

Pretty entertaining for the most part, but the story progression really starts falling through past 500+ chapters and tons of fillers. Biggest gripe is that every fight scene becomes an INCREDIBLE drag, takes 5-10 chapters per fight, 1 chapter for a... more>> single exchange/blow (since its full of utterly useless reactions by the dueling parties and spectators).

Typical e.g. Enemy fires off a single blow, MC is astounded, spends many many paragraphs being astounded and expounds on his impressions, feelings about the blow, observations, blah blah blah, then it's the side spectators turn to also astonished.... really? I get the character word count authors need to make money, but this gets ridiculous and makes the novel annoying as hell. I actually skim through the fights scenes now because of how boring they are. Very little nuances. It's almost purely about my blow/level being more powerful than yours that determines everything. <<less

This has been given a lot of mix reviews. I had no choice but to read it myself.

The conclusion I arrived too... it's not worth your time!

    • There's so many girls that the Author doesn't know what to do with! Heck, even look at the pregnancy tag.
The beginning was not bad. It was hilarious and I had good laughs. At first I thought the MC had good reasons to be arrogant. But I was wrong! Half the time he's useless.

    • The Author tries to compensate for his weakness with Spirit Advisor.
    • Even if there were no feelings involve in the marriage, it is still an affair and disloyal to his wife. The fact is that, it was still a legitimate marriage.
    • I see no reason for 'Little Aunt' to be a Heroine when she's very mundane. The Author will probably force a power up on her or something to get her into the story.
    • This is too repetitive
I can name more and more. The writer should should had just stick with the first wife. Despite being cold she was pretty enjoyable. Read the other reviews!

Spoiler

As for the parents reunion... was I suppose to feel emotional? It's been done is so many Novels! I don't hate that cliche though. Maybe I would cry a little if the story was done better... sigh. I really liked the Demon Girl too. Even when knowing MC has a child he still acts like a playboy. He never keeps it in his pants. It's pretty annoying too lol

I really want to like this series. I've read 751 chapters of this series because it just kept pulling me in. I want to say it was for the story, but really it was just because I liked how he beat the snot out of anyone in his path. But even that can't make up for how repetitive and s*upid the fight scenes have become.

The author often mentions that Yun Che is thoroughly exhausted/without any stamina left/can barely lift his sword. And then... he sends out 300 more full... more>> strength swings. Then add in the fact that he takes offense at everything and makes enemies of everyone who doesn't treat him like he's god incarnate. I've started to root for his opponents. <<less

So, why a 4/5 and not an 5/5 or 3/5?

First, why not a 3/5 or less, even though I am dropping the novel? Mainly because of the rates standard here in NU. Giving a 3 would be comparing ATG with novels like Peerless Martial God and some others that are complete garbage.

Second, ATG is a "good" novel, and follows it's premise beautifully. Fast pace, good fights, solid cultivation system, the MC picking beauties in every place he goes, satisfying revenges (generally) and etc. The novel kind of serves its... more>> purpose, like a reflex of some of this big movies that do a lot of success in the cine, it really has the "satisfying" thing.

Not giving a 5/5 is a little obvious too. For me this rate is reserved for novels that are really too good, the so called gems. ATG have a lot of faults, and I will say here some that annoyed me the most.

1 - The excess of luck
Spoiler

He died, and then he is reincarnated in the body of one person of same name because he had one of the super treasures of the realms of the gods. He is crippled, but he can find and save a little girl God cause he has other super treasure, and then she heal him giving him the blood of the Evil God and later some badass martial arts. He falls of a cliff and finds the legacy of the Phoenix God, and gains this God bloodline and legacy. While escaping some sect, he accidentally finds the Dragon God something, and gains his bloodline and legacy, along with a good sword (for the him of that time). He is dragged in a seal with a Demon, that Demon is in truth his Grandfather and awakens his innate talent of profound handle, and kills himself to free the MC (not that luck here). Enter some realm of good fortune for juniors, is eaten by super strong beast, and inside that beast find one of the four legendary evil god seed. Falls in fire whatever and receive the Crown God bloodline and legacy.

[collapse]
. And this is not counting the fact that the enemies that could kill him easily fall for some idiotics tricks.

2 - The excess of girls, and how they are used to "move" the plot, and the problems that come along with them.
Spoiler

First girl, Su Ling'er (the Little Aunt), begs the MC to not kill one of the motherf#ckers that kidnapped her, because he is a "good guy" and had fallen for her, thus "saving" her of one of his friends. Let alone the fact that he had kidnapped her, he and his clan were already trying to kill her lover before and after that, and she dares to say that... But whatever, the guy comes back possessed by Satan, and now wants to kill the MC for vengeance.

The second girl, daughter of a mortal man and a amnesiac goddess, the beautiful Xia Qingyue has a special kind of body of legends or something, if someone steals her v**ginity that one man gains some epic other thing, so she is later persecuted by some young master of super sect and is forced to flee.

Third girl, Blue Wind Princess (and later Empress) Lan Xueruo/ Cang Yue (?), had a sick father and corrupted brothers, is coveted by some young master from a not that big clan (too big for the current MC). MC enters her life and resolves everything. All good until here, but later she don't kill the one that killed her father (that coincidentally is the father of the fifth harem member), with the excuse that it was for the greater good, for the Nation and some shit. (That's here that I couldn't help myself anymore, I became furious and dropped the novel. Yeah, it was just two or three chapters ago in the Machine translation, and until now the autor still try to justify this.) "But what you didn't like here? This resembles to me a wise action of a great leader, in one of the best novels!" Three reasons, first because I would kill him at almost any cost (that father was all I had after all, mother was already dead for long and brothers tried to end my life and tried to harm me multiple times) even if I spared him for a moment I would never give up killing him. Second because I'm sure that the true reason he is spared is to not create a conflict between the two harem members. And third, because of the certainty in my heart that he (father of the fifth harem member) will die later by the hands of some greater enemy, precisely because he is a thorn in the eye of everyone including the autor and the readers, and the MC will say something like "He did some big sh%t, but it was all because of love for the clan or his daughter. I can't help but admire him, although I hate him. And now with this last big good thing he did blah blah"

Fourth, the Little Fairy Chu Yuechan, one of the beautiful six fairies of the Fairy Frozen Ice Cloud Asgard sect (don't really remember the name of the sect, but its something like that). Saved the MC some times, and was crippled protecting him. Later MC "raped" her for saving her, and along with the cure and the dragon bloodline, she gets pregnant. Certainly some big event will happen later involving her and the kid, but for now she is missing. That one is the one a like the most right now, don't know why.
Fifth, the princess of Divine Phoenix sect/clan Feng Xue'er, the most beautiful of her continent, disciple (or reincarnation?) of the other half of the Phoenix God/spirit (don't know). A sweet and naive girl with a enormous strength, that is isolated from the world by her father for being too beautiful and a gem (?). MC somehow fall from her ceiling, and they live together for some time. She trusts him because she can feel the Phoenix legacy that he has is similar to hers, and because she likes his pet. Over this time their relationship became deeper, the MC tells her some stories and promises her somethings. Normally I would like her very much, but she is the daughter of the motherf#cker that killed the father of third harem member.

Sixth, Huan Caiyi, the Little Demon Empress. The most beautiful of the continent of the demons. Her father and brother are killed by some plot of evil guy, and that guy utilizing his family clan is preparing a coup to remove her title. MC appears, reveals the plot, they somehow end in an world of the golden crown/crow, have super s*x for 2 months (laziness attacking here, fuc#), she uses a super technique that burns her life and have just 3 years of life now. MC is currently searching a method to cure her (in truth, he is not, he will remember her just when the time is ending or when he needs her help to kill some sects)

To lazy to write more (30 min here already, lol), and Jasmine, Hong'er and the lover from MCs past life are not that romantically involved yet.

[collapse]

3 - He has too much big things to do at the same time all the time.
Spoiler

Just to quote what he has to do in a short period of time recently: find clues about Chu Yuechan (little fairy), deal with the guy possessed by Satan, find the cure for the little demon empress, marry little aunt, train Asgard disciples, find clues about Xia Qingyue, enter the tournament of the grand clans/sects, enter a realm of something (here he probably gains a treasure or cultivation resources to power up and confront little Satan and the big sects tournament) and others that I don't remember.

[collapse]

Summing up, ATG is a novel that I'm found of, one of the first Chinese ones that I read, but I'm dropping for now. Just too angry with the recent events =P. <<less

I have a difficult time trying to care about anyone in this novel, including the main character. This novel feels like reading elementary school kids’ daily drama rather than adults (some even lived for more than a hundred years) who have vast experience in politics and human interactions. The characters in this novel are muscle-heads. It is also a wonder why the country hasn’t collapsed yet with the people having an IQ and EQ of a cave man. The villains are all the same basically jealous and/or prideful (definitely vengeful.) A lot of times the actions of the people in this novel baffle me. The villains actions are too simple-minded and a replica of the previous one. The story is just too predictable with an over-powered main character. Why even bother mentioning the rank they are in? It has become redundant.
Spoiler

This is the simplified breakdown of the novel I read so far (currently till chp. 300) :

An event is coming up-> provokes someone-> dangerously trains-> receives something from someone-> comes back and beats people up.

Rinse and repeat.

[collapse]
Any girl in this novel that is beautiful and strong will just end up as a damsel-in-distress waiting for the main character to save them (even though he was usually the one who put them in that situation in the first place and supposedly stronger than the main character when first introduced.) The main character would harass and flirt with girls, even pre-pubescent ones.

If a h**ny teenager with a persecution complex wrote a novel, this is it. The story is repetitive. Though it is admirable for him to fight for the ones he care about, there are better ways to deal with them without adding oil to the fire that caused the main character and the people around him to suffer more. At the beginning the novel really grabbed my interest but after about 100 chapters, it started to irritate me. It really is a shame.

One of my favorite novel ; not in comparison with other series of similar genre, because it stands out by itself. The story was built around an interesting premise: someone who was born again as a weakling. The protagonist and people around him are fleshed out consistently. Perfect balance between jokes and serious matters, physical and psychological perspectives. Better yet, it has a very good pace; up to chapters, there are no drawn-out arcs, and one of my favourite part comes after chapter 190, when main character obtains his dragon... more>> blood. I read the previous work of this author and story is somewhat similar after 124 th chapter, but still great piece of work keep it up. <<less

I love this xianxia for many of the same reasons that have been mentioned in other reviews. I like that the story spends 40+ chapters with the MC being crapped because his cultivation is crippled and how he has to endure it. You can feel his rage at his weakness and everyone's ridicule stewing under the surface, and when he finally gets a chance to explode its wonderful. And pretty damn cathartic since you're as sick as he is by that point of all the ridicule he had to face.... more>> That time spent firmly establishes the MC's--Yun Che--skills, intelligence, and frightening willpower. He utterly crushes his enemies without coming off like a psychopath. Yun Che doesn't get sudden powerups during a fight, he goes in fully knowledgeable of what he can do, and will use his brains and his opponent's pride to find victory in unfavorable situations. He's easy to root for.

Another thing I like about this story is it's strong female cast. The women aren't there to be lusted after, be antagonistic, then be won over after they see how big a badass the MC is. All the women are fully fleshed out, intelligent, and interesting. They have goals and characterization independent of the MC. Which makes it far more interest when Yun Che wins them over. I highly recommend this light novel to anyone that likes xianxia. <<less

This novel is great so far (14x chapters in) !
What I like most in this novel is the main character of course. Many readers will notice this immediately when following Yun Che's journey: he protects his friends preciously, but stomps down his enemies to the depths of hell. Give him a favor and he'll return to you a hundred-fold, show arrogance and he'll crush you a thousand-fold. Oh, he's a total player. That smooth-talking, sweet-dealing, genius doctor knows how to handle the beauties (and trust me, there's many girls... more>> crossing his path).

But seriously, I do admit I love reading this story. As a Wuxia/Xianxia, I'm already aware that the characters are going to train. A lot. They're gonna face enemies higher-ranked than them. A lot. They're going to struggle reaching and breaking through bottlenecks. A lot. They're gonna learn and train in different skills, whether they're hidden/secret/OP or considered useless/tr*sh but main character manages to make it OP because of previously hidden/secret skills gained before. A lot. He's gonna travel the world and gain knowledge. A lot. He's gonna meet arrogant-douchebags who're just asking to be beaten. A lot. He's gonna stumble upon hidden training grounds with lots of loot. He's going to climb the ranks and shock all them students and elders faces senseless with his power. He's got a teacher who imparts him with powerful stuff. Lots of stuff. So yeah it's a chinese fantasy martial arts novel. Oh wait ! He reincarnated from another life right ? So he's got lots of experience. Lots of battle experience. He developed/honed skills and knowledge that are not part of this world. He finds mysterious herbs only he knows how to deal with. He's going to be overall more efficient. But it's YUN CHE.

That guy. Really. I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to ATG just because of the man right there. Yun Che knows how to retaliate. He is smart and doesn't stop at simply giving someone a beat down. He thoroughly ruins someone to the roots ! He knows how to use his different skills (it mostly involves his previous past life as a genius practionner...) to investigate the weakness of his opponents and unleash merciless wrath upon them. He doesn't rely on luck (so far), he's not a naïve MC for sure. He calculates, plans every detail and plays the people right into his pocket ('cause really. The guy knows how to strike a good deal). He has back-ups, he has confidence; he's got the skills to ensure he won't end up being the fool. Every thing he says has a purpose; he has a goal in mind. Now that's a driven MC and what I like the most. His actions can't be said to be good or wrong, they surve a purpose and that's all that matters. Yun Che also closely follows his own morals. Oh, and the romance. There's no definite coupling happening yet
Spoiler

So what if he's already married

[collapse]
but Yun Che never misses a chance to flirt and roll his sweet words to lull the fairer women in. Even if said women are actually levels and realms beyond him in power. I promise grinning.

Now for the parts that annoy me: the common people. Now, most Wuxia/Xianxia are going to have an overpowered main character who manages to overcome every obstacles no matter what it is (and circumstances). Yun Che is indeed powerful, but there's always a reason behind it. I haven't encountered a "Deux Ex Machina" situation yet that made me cringe plothole.
Spoiler

He usually acquires a skill, "unlocks" a hidden potential in him because of his training method (and profound vein), acquires an item or have a planned powerful back-up that he knows would intervene BEFOREHAND. Now that's planning. Only exception could be his escape from the Xiao clan, he didn't know Lan Luero would be there. (So far in the story)

[collapse]

TL;DR: Read this for smart, bad-ass, ruthless MC who actually knows how to talk to the ladies, manage his op-skills, balance training and gaining advantages, was already op before reincarnating. Definitely not a wuss. Oh and for the WUXIA/XIANXIA ! <<less

Utterly disappointing as most CN are.

Start off amazing but just get worse as the chapters go on.

The MC is a vile letch but if you try to look past that initially there's a lot going for the novel.

... more>> Then the author forces his work to commit su*cide by ruining the few good characters that made it tolerable.

MC becomes more unbearable as time goes on too a total horn dog that never grows up mentally.

So sad to see this poor person (author) unable to understand that even lecherous horn dogs grow up over the years.... any character "development" goes in the wrong direction.

Also MC is a r*pist. Some seriously disturbed people may try to justify it by saying that the woman would have died... they fail to see the glaringly obvious fact: she said no.

That means she'd prefer death to r*pe.

Ergo, anyone who would r*pe someone to "save"them isn't a hero but instead is vile scum.

Defending that makes you look just as bad. <<less

The first 1200 chapters of this novel are pretty simple. It's, just like almost every story of this genre, a kinda repetitive but very satisfying story. We see the MC grow in power as he destroys those who belittled him a few chapters ago. It's very well written, with interesting characters and love interested who have a personality and a deep story with the MC. Every love interest is more or less reasonable, and has a more or less intensive memories with the MC. However, this will all change starting... more>> from chap. 1200s. For the better.

Spoiler

Yun Che will change from a God sent messiah who came to save the world from an external threat from outside the universe, to the most charismatic and, and I cannot stress this enough, satisfying villain. After a very sad scene which I won't explain since it would be too much of a spoiler, he changes sides and starts plotting and elaborating his revenge on the entire universe. He becomes the most cold-blooded, heart-less character. He isn't necessarily cruel, and there are signs of redemption in the future, but still, he becomes quite evil. It was so satisfying, seeing a MC who could only be protected from loving teachers in the past start wreaking havoc. The novel improves so much it seems like it's almost a different one. Simply amazing. Everything is also so damn well written and translated, I couldn't stop reading.

Man, I used to love this novel so so much. This is also exactly the reason I currently hate it just as much.

This LN used to be my favorite novel of all time. I used to love how he leveled up, how he made his harem grow and how they all loved him back too. I loved the tournament arcs, I loved the inheritance arc. I loved how villains used to plot against him but he still over came them and showed the villains with revenge.

But everything changed when he... more>> went to god realm. Mars created more unnecessary 1 dimensional harem members. Even the most respected villain who was responsible for the start of Against the gods, who was responsible for death of his close ones, who tortured them, who made him almost su*cide himself was forgiven just so she could be added as another harem member. There was so much potential to this Novel but Mar's wasted it in unnecessary dramas. He became someone who now always caused death of his loved ones cause he acted like a s*upid spoiled child. I feel like I want to say so much more but I really am so much tired of this sh*t and I am done with this.

Typical xuanhuan. The story is typical, MC is typical, harem as well. There are no unique features in this novel. Despite living his second life, MC is often inconsistent. He is doing a poor job in keeping people close to him safe. The novel is also too lengthy and skewed towards action.

More than once, I saw some parts brazenly being stolen from other novels. Awesome teacher, thwarted engagement, young sect masters, and so on. It's not that bad to employ popular tropes, but if you search for a unique novel... more>> then look for something else.
Now to the bigger flaw, MC loves to die. Dying is an every day tier thing in this novel, that's how thick the MC's plot armor is. Every death is accompanied by an annoying time skip. When he is dead, everything is going wrong, making you feel terrible about characters that were left alone in the danger. This is the worst part of the novel, MC is happily cultivating or f*cking a new woman right after death. He doesn't care about people left in danger by his absence. His family or loved ones often harmed and hurt when MC just keeps assuming that everything is ok. Meanwhile, the author likes to frequently change the POV just to make you more annoyed by how s*upid and naive MC is. Like that, MC often makes promises but rarely fulfills them because of dying here or there for yet another woman that will join the harem eventually.
Harem is rather big but diverse with two lolis to boot (maybe 3 or 4 in the future). It feels average and needs more fleshing out. Harem characters require extra screentime. I clearly felt how they were blending into the background once their arc was over.
Also, Mars doesn't understand how to alternate between action and relaxing pace. He is always Gas Gas Gas and, when you're tired and expecting a relaxing part, what greets you is an ugly time skip and a new action instead.

I can recommend it to loli fans if you don't care about overused plots and s*upid MC. Personally, I feel like dropping it while I still can. <<less

This novel had been excellent for the most part. However, its flaws are enough to make someone quit. I myself had enjoyed this novel immensely but some of its flaws were just too much for my little heart to handle. Yun Che was a top tier chinese wuxia main character. He was a proper alpha male. However he became a delta in the later chapters. No cunningness, no wits, no overbearingness, no ambition, nothing from the earlier chapters. He has become a love struck fool who would sacrifice his entire... more>> family, wives everyone and everything just for a hello from jasmine. He legit fell to a beta, then a charlie now a delta male. He has lost his touch.

Spoiler

This world is based on strength, people will kill for the slightest power ups. However Yun Che who arguably has the hardest method of cultivation in terms of resources can easily power up by sleeping with powerful virg*ns. For me that is ridiculous let alone s*upid, why? Because every women would have been r*ped once in her life given the consistency of the world building. Legit 99% of the people will kill a random innocent to get a small power boost, you think they won't r*pe a virg*n for a gigantic boost? Literally Yun che has powered up entire realms just by sleeping with powerful women. If other people slept with these women wouldnt they get far bigger power ups? Anyways thats a huge plot hole no one gets at. In other novels you have to cultivate a dual cultivation technique to be able to power up by s*x. But this novel as long as you have a d*ck you can go on a r*pe spree and power up. But no one seems to do this except Yun Che. His master even offered all the virg*n women in her sect after she found this out. My question is why doesnt every other expert just go on a raping spree if they can get more powerful by sleeping. Just a small rant, im not even going to start on the r*pes he done. Many justify it by saying he saved their lives. First one justifiable excuse, second one unacceptable. Would you r*pe your own mother if she was sick, even though there are some powerful men over there that can save her life. Even though these men have had their lives saved by her just moments ago? But because you feared her being sullied you decided to r*pe your own mother?? Yuck that was his own master damn it.

Oh by the way big spoilers from the raw.
Spoiler

So brahma bit*h Qianye has become Yun Che's s*ave. He promised to r*pe her 10, 000 times yet I dont think he even had the thought yet every since she became ens*aved. Despite her torturing him for months on end. He decided it was best for her just to be a maid for him. TF? Anyways now she had her s*ave seal removed by her father. Guess what she says. "Good thing Yun che is not dead, now I can personally rip him to shreds." But soon her own father cripples her cultivation and sells her to the southern goblin emperor. She loses hope but is saved by her old s*ave. Thats it for current raws, but you know Mars. A woman is allowed to do any evil to Yun Che but if a man even speaks a harsh word, his entire family must be eliminated. Literally, even a child can spot this type of plot advancement, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. He will save her and then be stunned by her beauty and accept her love. He will heal her and then sleep with her or r*pe her. Mind you we are entering the phase of devil che. He will still have the heart to fall in love with Qiangye after he probably r*pes her. Can I tell you that r*pe is horrible it is a form of torture yes, but it cannot compare to the brahma death wishing mark that lasted for months. So I have no idea why he will forgive her especially when she will be so weak. He will then feel bad for raping her then will have a child with her. If Mars does that I will drop the novel immediately. Because right now Xia Qingyue is Yun Che's number 1 target because he thinks she destroyed blue pole star. But I believe she didnt kill his family and her family. She has become my fav character since jasmine has become a full time tsundere. Now that Qianye and Yun che have the same enemies, she will turn to him because thats the only person she has left. LOL. The craziest evilest bit*h will most likely become a harem member. Mind you the root cause of all evil has been this Qianye chick. Literally everything was caused by her, the humilation of every main character has been caused by her. I have good hopes for Mars to make her die a pathetic death by being torn apart. But I think she will be r*ped by Yun che and he will forgive her after she bears him a child or something. B.S

This novel is one of the few first xianxia genre I red, and I thought it's really good but then I catch up with the latest chapter (400 or so), so I waited for more chapters to binge read it again

Now I read it till chapter 1000, and enough is enough, it's just massive dissapointment

The author is just recycling plot again and again, his writing just didn't improve.

... more>> There is still so many things I want to rant, but at this point another comments have already brought it up

This is just garbage <<less

As far as cultivation novels go this is a pretty decent one. It has its flaws, but if you are looking for cultivation novels you've seen these flaws before, they are so common that you might as well consider them features since it almost appears intentional in the genre.

I was originally planning to give this 4 stars, but thats because I read ~1200 chapters back to back, so I could skim though the boring parts and focus on the fun bits, but once I caught up it dawned on me... more>> that some chapters feel padded and story progress is not as fast paced as it originally felt, but it's nowhere near as bad as some other novels (Martial God Asura, I'm looking at you).

Random Thoughts:

    • I personally like the harem of this novel, is not the best implementation of a harem and it has a lot of cliche aspects to it, but overall I find it enjoyable.
    • Some of the characters are annoying (Little Aunt, I'm looking at you).
    • Few characters have any real character development, there was an opportunity for a Goku x Vegeta type of relationship but sadly they f*cked that up and killed of Vegeta in the most pathetic way possible.
    • The fights are usually fun, more noticeable in the later chapters.
In summary, if you are looking for a cultivation novel this is a good one to kill time with, there are better one out there, but there are also definitely many worse ones out there. <<less
