Waking up, Kim Hajin finds himself in a familiar world but an unfamiliar body.

A world he created himself and a story he wrote, yet never finished.

He had become his novel’s extra, a filler character with no importance to the story.

The only clue to escaping is to stay close to the main storyline.

However, he soon finds out the world isn’t exactly identical to his creation.

I love make this short and simple, no long winded explanations from me to convince you to read this.

This novels hits me in the funny bone, the wholesomes, and the feels.

Great read. There is a good amount of character development.

Keeps you invested to read more and more of the story and never gets boring.

My most liked aspect of the story is the characters emotional expression.

the characters express their feeling in a way that we can relate to a certain extent.

At first, it was fun reading the story fevelopment where the MC knows everything. But over the course of time, I can't help but become bored with the repetitive sequence where he is a know-it-all..

It becomes interesting once more, since the story is flowing towards a direction that differs from the main one, the one that he wrote.

It's good and interesting story at the begging I would say it's probably the best novel I read. MC is not explaining all his powers to first people meets, girls are not throwing them self to the MC, slow affection forming from other people towards MC, the moderate "I don't care about you" feeling from MC were all very refreshing.

In the later stages especially in the current arc I really started questioning the MC decisions towards the so called "friends", "companions" and "allies". Even if you don't trust them you... more>> should still throw some information at people; I'm not saying to tell everything but some of the information should be shared with others. They will probably trust MC after all this time they understood that he has information that nobody else have. I'm not sure if it's the translations fault but the MC feels so rude with everybody he talks with (especially in later the current arc) that it started to annoy me. The latest arc story is really good but the action of the MC in some cases are like of a villain in forming (maybe that is what actually will happen?). One of the thought it crossed by mind about the latest arc is that the author started to lengthen the novel unnecessary. So many things would have been resolved if he just musters of a bit of courage to talk with people; you can be the worst talker in the world but the MC feels like on whole different dimension of not able to talk about important things. <<less

The concept and execution of the story is wonderful for most of the story. The characters don't feel bland when they're active, the suspense and mystery is maintained despite the MC being a walking spoiler, and overall the charm and pacing of the novel is good. I have to praise the author for inter-playing what the MC already knows with what actually happens that is separate from the story. The writer conveys the thoughts and emotions of the characters with great clarity that help the world become alive. In addition,... more>> the story is handled mostly well throughout the beginning of the story. Also, I "liked" (explain quotes later) how the author handled the multiple plot lines. Things that genuinely surprised me (big warning, it's a list of five, you were warned) :
Spoiler

The time and location Evandel's Seed hatched, killing a mafia boss who wasn't djinn, Killing of Chayun's (did I get that right) brother, the aftermath and effect the death of Chayun's brother had on everyone, the existential crisis the MC had with the doppelganger encounter

Various other misc. comments: I liked the length of the chapters. Each of the chapters are nicely packed. I liked the contrast between creator and creations.

However. Big however. As the story approaches the

Other than power creep, the author has some points where the story threads just become unmanageable. I like the numerous amounts of plot threads, but they sometimes are left neglected, untied. With those threads dangling above my head, I was often kept uncomfortable. Yeah, it's funny for the first few chapters it was introduced, but after 5, 10, or even 15 chapters, they become annoying (and the chapters are LOOOOONG). I lose focus on the main story because of I'm worrying about the small things rather than the important things.

I mustn't downplay the quality of the story too much. I genuinely enjoyed myself while reading this book. However, far warning, if you're the obsessive reader type (like me) and don't like the things in the criticism, it might be better to resist the temptation and not start this book... If you're looking for a good fiction book, this read is a no brainer. Take it. You should not hesitate to read it.

(Though we're not really supposed to talk about it...) Those who dread bad translations, fear not. The translators did an excellent job in their work. Although there are a few places of weirdness, the quality of the translation is high. (This does not impact the rating of the novel) <<less

Great series, can't wait for more to be released. Skeptical at first because the MC knows what will happen in the future but I was glad that it was changed when there's another one behind the scenes. (Sounds Villain for me but nvrmnd that.) Kudos for the translator for translating this another masterpiece.

The novel itself quite good to read. The only problem for me to continue reading this story came from the interaction between MC n one of the female lead (the one he design from his love interest in real life). This female lead believe that MC was in love with her and the MC let the misunderstanding continue to the point all of their friend believe it, basically he never make it clear that he was not love her, well he was but the conviction not strong enough to make... more>> them believe it even I was not believe it.

At first it was quite amusing to see their ineraction, but from time to time their intercation make me cringe, it's not I don't like romance but I hate romance when it change the MC. <<less

This is a very good novel. The premise being thrown into the novel is not new, but it makes up for it with original elements. The Writing is very well done, when it seems like there will be a cliche part it often will deviate from it and surprise you. Build drama, action, and relationships in a believable way. The MC doesn't automatically obtain the whims of the girls, but slowly earns it. This novel is not afraid to pull punches either, there will be times when the reader might... more>> be praying for an out, a sudden ass-pull, but it goes through with it. It seems My favorite novels here are Korean, something about the writing styles just fit I guess haha. I would recommend if looking for a more alpha version of the Japanese MC, and a fun supernatural story <<less

For me.. This novel is good

(note: I am someone who would rather have an OverPowered MC.. {As long there are *challenges* in the story} than having a weakling for an mc)

the MC wasn't overpowered too much.. Well, few incredible card alright (luck/gift/special power) but he was no more than a weakling even with these..?

but if you hate a weakling for an MC, dont worry.. There is a good prospect for MC to be so strong (if he continued to grow, and acquiring more power).. Well, the problem is,... more>> the VILLAINs in the story are very very very strong too haha

but that makes a challenge in the story, he always barely make it, in each of his struggle. The the help of *luck stat* is not overly unreasonable so it doesn't completely ruin the 'challenge' that I want,

at least, I enjoyed the growth of the MC on this story.. It gave enough dose of sense of accomplishment wkwk <<less

sigh. It started off well and then tanked. Badly.

here is my original, overly optimistic take up until c139

Spoiler

this is a very interesting take on the whole 'transported into a mob character in a novel' scenario, and not just because the MC was the main Author. Just the fact that there is another author who keeps making changes to what's supposed to happen is fun enough, but the MC's reactions crack me up. Of course, now things are getting more serious and as the story continues things are getting more complex and I just hope the writing quality remains as good as it is now.

also, it says something about how good the character development is for all the side characters that readers seem to have forgotten that he's trapped in a book at the moment and have already divided into camps based on their favorite ships. I'm not surprised he tried his best to keep his distance as the story has progressed, though I think he's more invested in certain people than he intended to be. I'm very curious about what happens after the school arc ends and am hoping that the actual ending is neither rushed nor rage-inducing like half the other Korean novels I've read lately.

Been a while since I read it so I cant recall all that much.

The author really likes his misunderstanding and the Main character refusing to explain himself. This also happens a lot in his other novel the villain wants to live. Misunderstandings are often used as a plotdevice but this author goes one Step further by placing characters in Situations where the misunderstandings could easily be resolved which they just refuse to do.

While the ending also felt a bit underwhelming I would still say the novel is worth a read... more>> overall as it is quiet entertaining especially in the first few hundred chapters. <<less

I can see the appeal with this series. There were a lot of interesting elements and the beginning was very engaging. However, I think the main downfall of this novel was the romance drama, especially with Nayun. I have a certain dislike for Nayun as a character because I personally cannot stand her as she's annoying as hell. Imagine that 70% of the drama revolved around her. She had so much screen time that I was sick of it. My personal bias aside, I just didn't feel like the romance... more>> was any good in general, whether it was Nayun, Yeonha, Rachel, Sahyuk, or Boss. The biggest flaw from the romance is that it was so largely dependent on s*upid misunderstandings. So many of them. I hate it, abhorred it when Hajin always seem to miss the opportunity to explain (which was just not realistic since he was right there so many times) or weren't believed when he said it himself because apparently Hajin can't speak for himself and only says the truth in their own assumptions. The whole stick with Nayun need not mentioned (the whole thing was so overdramatic and cringey) but even with Rachel (which almost became Nayun 2.0 drama), and Yeonha (better since I can see the progression), and Sahyuk (better since it's less cliche) were all involved in misunderstandings. Honestly, I felt they were all so shallow, except Yeonha since her misunderstandings, while annoying, were not the basis for her feelings. Boss' was better since they just spent time together and no misunderstandings really were the basis for their romantic relationship so I was immensely glad that she was endgame. On that note, since the romance was so intertwined with the action plot from day one, it decreased the quality immensely.

On the other hand, starting from the tower arc onwards, it just gradually dropped in quality as well. The ending in particular was lackluster. It was just not a good buildup and the pacing was a mess. I was tired at that point and just wanted things resolved. Honestly, since the author incorporated such a mesh of popular elements like rpg, tower, systems, isekai, regression, etc all in one, the result is chaos. They don't fit together well and was messy to read. The action I enjoyed in the beginning started to lose its touch and the battles towards the end didn't have the same appeal, it was bland and nonsensical to me. Oh and don't get me started on how anticlimactic that Hajin only shot one bullet and that was it. Another point I wanted to make is how little attention the author gave to some of the important characters in the series. Suho as the main character, Jonghak as the antagonist, Seung-Ah as the main heroine, and the important supporting characters like Yongha, Tomer, Yiyoon, Rumi, the rest of Chameleon Troupe, the Nine Stars, and the Nine Evils doesn't nearly have enough details. Many others that contributed to the final battle as well, like Jongjin?, I can't even remember their names right even when they were part of the final battle, and arguably the most important battle. This novel was disappointing to say the least. Half of it was a romance drama, and I hated every part of it, and the other half as an action fantasy lost its way at the half way mark. Sure there were great things about it which I enjoyed but that's what made it worse because it could've been so much better. Deserved its low ratings tbh.

Ps. I can not, for the life of me, express how much I hate Nayun. She's literally in my top 3 most annoying and cringey fictional character by the time I finished. I dropped it once in the beginning because Nayun made the novel a low-budget 3rd rate K-drama when it should've been an action fantasy. I managed to plough through it for the plot but I couldn't escape it because her and her drama comes so goddam often and so central. If not for the beginning action I enjoyed and a few mid-stages, the rest of the novel was a straight 1 star. Romance was 0.5 stars (.5 for Boss and Yeonha). I have never seen a more poorly written romance (talking about Nayun), even smut novels are better than this. <<less

I was so angry I made an account here and I had to leave a review. You read books and you connect with characters right? Atleast the main character to some degree right?

Some people want relationships so they read Romance, some want a fantasy world so they read and dream about fantasy world. At Chapter 126 something big happens. It ruins the story, ruins your connection to characters and all that left is pain and impending doom and further story progression is impossible because it will lead to a single... more>> outcome. So instead of reading a book and having many possibilities and interesting arcs all that is left is Pain and Suffering. Only a masochist would read further.

I personally can't connect with a character who is a psychopath. But if you can then this story is for you! <<less

I am a sucker for authors getting s**ked into their own work, so I may be bias when it comes to my own review.

I find the situation Kim Hajin is fairly interesting, where he has the ability to interfere the setting and utilizing everything he can do to mitigate his poor stats and limited skill sets. And the original story he made had been changed to point where he can't predict how certain parts would proceed, which makes for a very interesting adventure.

Due to the character's reliance on luck and... more>> clever play, it is a refreshing compare to the sword fighting. And being the author of his own story, having his own advantage is better than just overwhelming people with pure power.

Spoiler

Though I do say those things, there are some common tropes for overpowered character cropping up in the story. So it isn't entirely without overwhelming people with power.

While I have read some reviews about how this story felt rushed, like the Kim Hajin's original story. I feel the conclusion is meant to be that way. I mean, if the ending isn't fleshed out like Kim Hajin said it was, it is clear it will always be rushed due to the short, episodic things of DP appearing out of nowhere other than a macguffin from the co-author. There isn't much to expand other than demon destroying the world, so I am not too harsh on it as a reader.

I personally, enjoyed the sidestories (not Rachel's, maybe because it is a dream and not an appealing part of the story) and it had fulfilled the wishful thinking I had where Kim Hajin had all his abilities intact.

Don't get me wrong, I believe that ending is great too. Paying the cost and left only the ability to help people is a good way to end his story. But there is always an itch and the amount of 'what if' spawns from the moment something undesirable appears.

[collapse]

There are some issues with the hanging subplots and other shortcoming of the story's approach to the ending, but I believe this is an absolute fun experience for the trope 'author trap in their own creation' and I would personally give it a 4.5 star for the joy I have reading this. <<less

7.5 out of 10. Was enjoyable but had some issues with translation/word structure at times. Very simple sentences which is likely a combination of machine translation and the natural writing. Also had issues with annoying misunderstandings throughout the novel. Later half of the novel introduced a lot of things that came and went. For instance demon merchants was barely ever used. The ending was rushed a bit, and I would have preferred if it wasn't the forced decision the MC had to do to not destroy the world. Overall still... more>> decent though. Nice story, fun and funny character interactions.

And oh boy how Kim Hajin seems to traumatized the women around him.

The main story ending isn't what I hoped for... but the ongoing side story I've managed to read is back to form... though I really hope it ends better.

I love this story, this is engaging and cool. Although concept is not new for me but I am an addict and won't mind it.

Hey can anyone tell me where I can read this novel for free ? In English, I can see there are around 400 chapters published but only are available for free till date.

I want to read without waiting and for free. I don't prefer machine translations too. I know I am outrageously asking for too much, then again what's the loss in asking.

I think this novel is good and I do recommend it.

The greatest part here is characters, both protagonists and antagonists. I think the whole cast might be "one of the best" from the novels on this website.

Somewhere around the first third of the novel setting is good too, it's consistent and engaging... But then Author just... Deletes it? Nothing you knew before is important anymore and narrative is just a mess of some random episodes (like in "Villain want to live" by the same Author). But here I can't imagine... more>> anyone being strongly upset about it because of a core axis holding everything together - "all the characters" being so amazing and developing even further is time goes on.

Unfortunatly, the theme of "something you was interested in before stopping being important" is much more consistent than the world these stellar characters live in, so MANY of things you might be hoping to see being developed further are just discarded. So, there are some loose ends, and some of the things that are actually being progressed just stop halfway with the ending.

Again, I do recommend it, all the negative things are easily forgiven with countless positive emotions I'm sure you will experience. <<less
