Merea was summoned to a place called “Sacred Mountain of Lindholm” where spirits gather upon their death. He was called upon using an Otherworldly Grass which found its way to his world. The reason for summoning him was to dispel the lingering attachment and/or regrets of a group of heroic spirits from another world.

Brought up as a hero to dispel regrets, the era of the world made him into a demon lord instead.

This one is... having quite good initial idea that demon lord is not always the bad guys, it's just a matter of false propaganda. Though at later parts the pacing sometimes feels extremely awkward, there will be a lot of times in a tense scenes suddenly the author insert background stories of the characters in the whole chapter; imagine captain Tsubasa anime when he was about to kick the ball he remembers about his childhood story that took one episode before finally the ball is kicked. And sometimes the characters... more>> are talking too much that it's contradicting the time spent in a scene, for example in a scene where they should be in a hurry with a time limit to do something, they instead talk leisurely which probably spent more time talking than doing the job properly; this time imagine ultraman with time limit but instead of fighting he keep talking for 6 minutes while his power only last for 7 minutes. That and the author introduced too much characters in short time that sometimes they seems disappearing since only few of them matters in the story,
Spoiler

in this case the 22 demon lords introduced but less than 10 people ever talk up or doing something until c70

Having read some nice reviews I decided to take a shot at this novel. Unfortunately I cannot recommend it.

The pacing is too slow, and a interesting premise is thrown out of the window devolving the story into a boring and tiresome cliche isekai.

Every single action is stretched down with a lot of meaningless exposition and useless chatter during improper times. Too many characters and plots are thrown at us too many times, without any of them going forward.

Spoiler

In all these chapters, the MC gets reborn, trained by more than 90 spirits, they pass on, he met another 21 demon lords, goes down the mountain while escaping an army, runs towards a city with these demon lords, then towards another country. That's all that happens in 40+ chapters

We also get some POVs about a prince trying to coup his father/king and some Povs about the villain Sirius that's chasing them. Also a POV of 3 kings that had nothing to do with the story so far.

[collapse]

There were 90+ spirits but we barely learned about 5 of them. The rest are just extras. Same for the 21 demon lords. 7-8 are characters and the rest are extras.

Spoiler

I though it would be a story about the MC solving the regrets of the heroic spirits, but the deux ex machina was too stronk and they all solved their regrets just by raising the MC and passing their techniques because 'reasons'. (But if any person climbed the mountains they would be killed instead of gaining their techniques?)

In the end of the first arc he gets a free pass like any common isekai to live freely like he wants with all these amazing superpowers.

[collapse]

I mean, the premise built on the whole first arc is thrown away, and then the story just drags on too much and you get irritated by it.

Nothing important happens for several chapters and we're just reading about the same characters arguing about mundane things among themselves, even right in the middle of a battle.

Or the same things about how demon lords are persecuted being repeated for the 100th time.

In the end the "trained by 99 heroic spirits" is just an excuse for the MC to have any 'deux ex machina power' he'll need for any situation. And the "save the demon lords" trope is just an excuse for a bunch of people to travel together and interact. And most of these people are cute girls as in any japanese novel.

Also the MC is a vegetarian beta male that doesn't kill even in war scenarios. He is overpowered and naive, even after being reincanated, lived for more than 15 years and taught by so many betrayed heroes.

Overall, didn't have fun reading this. Didn't like the MC or the characters that just pop out of nowhere all at the same time and glued to the MC for no reason and spend most of the written content arguing about silly things. <<less

The story isn't bad but the problem with this series is in my opinion the authors writing style. It is massively verbose with the most mundane of details and it tends to be that way several times throughout a chapter. If you could stand to read something like this:

Somehow he could tell this to be true. It transcended intuition and felt as though this information were ordained for him to just understand it. Like he had been guided to this moment in time to discover this and take part in exposing this truth for himself to better grasp the nature of it. Almost as if all of the world had stopped for him to meet this realization and recognize what needed to be done. To move forward required this understanding and it was the most substantial revelation he could have sought. It built his resolve and with this newly achieved comprehension he took his first steps to acting on this important epiphany.

Then congratulations you could read this light novel without frustration. That's not an excerpt from the novel and is probably a little more rambling than you'd normally find in it but I kid you not it dedicates a paragraph like that, for something that could easily be described in two sentences, several times within a single chapter.

This novel has potential though it look like author has inspiration from "Faraway Paladin" with the summon as kids training and view the summoner as parent. Though may be because the author want to make his work unique or want to make his character OP without saying he got gifted power a god like in most isekai, instead of 3 like Faraway Paladin, we got 100. You can already see how this decision hinder the characterization onward. At the end of vol 1 in FP, I feel emotionally committed to... more>> the MC "parent". In this novel, it like a countdown about how much the MC learn from the other spirit and when that number hit 0, something gonna happen. Same goes for what happen after he leave the mountain. Instead of 3 or 4 companion, we got hit with around 20+ with most serve as background filler and only 2 to 4 get developed.

The other problem of this novel is that it is too boring. I am finding myself skimming through chapter to find something worth reading. We are 50 chapter in but still nothing happen. MC is still running from the 1st enemy that appear in around chapter 10. MC also has zero personality as in trying to make us "immerse" ourselves as the MC. While the writing is good and some character is solid, I just gonna drop this novel due to how boring I am while reading it. Plus MC is so OP that I don't feel like there would be any enemy worth for a good 1v1 action. So far we seen like 3 to 4 skill of his total 100 so expect more stuff to be pull when MC get into trouble. <<less

at ch 4:

so far it's a refreshing take on reincarnation. He knows his cause of death, and is at peace with it. I like the pace it's going at. Also, there's a dragon :') the story seems promising.

Well, I didn't particularly like it, I had a problem dealing with the events, I felt that each event did not happen naturally, mainly on the part of the enemies, The meeting of the protagonists, for example, the author simply throws the characters in his face and says' it's fate ', The author tried to create some' genius' characters but for me it wasn't very good, felt like a tacky version of the protagonist of Dungeon Defense in relation to the prince and the enemy, another point I don't like... more>> is when the author narrates that an event entered to world history, it makes you feel that everything that happens in history is 'past' and literally ends your immersion in reading. Anyway, I didn’t like it and therefore I dropped, even though I liked the protagonists. <<less

I have mixed filings about the story. From one point of view every action, thought and step are explained but explanation is on 11 years old child level

Spoiler

Heroes/demon lords in the end are simply either talented people or people with special knowledge. Most of them basically can be replaced with 10-50 skilled boys in plate armor.

And these people don't want to defend their countries. The hell do you expect from country? That it will say 'human rights' and submit to another country? It's not even about patriotic fillings. Either you fight or you and your family will die because eneemy country will not care about these rights

Also this girl's blushing for every move of MC... Why they are reacting like that to everything?

And let's avoid discussion about how smart MC is...

Nice story and good character... the MC character isn't naive n can see the reality... it's just in the beginning story MC still have naive character. He is always struggle to save others and become nice lord for his friends. Always trying to answer his parents (heroic spirit) hope to become a great hero.

For the harem.. well.. the MC isn't too dense.. he know when they get sad, anxious, and depressed from their's eye.. but he just didn't know love in their's eye..

There's too many simultaneous trouble in story... MC... more>> solve the problem yet another problem come in...

Spoiler

He got two different alias, they who awe him and place hope in his shoulder call him as Shirogami. and the otherside they who fear him as Majin.

From 100 technique that was inherited, just few of them that has explained.

This novel have a very promising potential of being good. However it does not to be true.

On the prologue or the introduction of the story was good, the things where MC obtain survival skills which might be overpowered to certain extend, the background story on how MC was raised in other world and his interaction with his Legendary Masters during training. They are pretty interesting fun to read.

However, it lies a big problem which is that there are too many demon lords introduced during mid chapters. First of all,... more>> there are too many characters that introduced which perhaps confused for both the reader and the author in where the story is heading. Instead of focusing more on the MC himself, the author were using multiple POV in their perspective chapter. Is kinda messy and confusing for myself regarding the story about on either the MC or the Survival of the demon lords. <<less

The concept of the story is really good. The author created a big setting the involves many important characters, but didn't manage to tell more about them. The author made something like 100 techniques and 21 demon lords while introducing few of them so the he can have much leeway to add his new ideas.

Well, the development is very interesting. I'm at least looking forward to the future that he saw where he became a lord of demon lords. The pacing is too slow, even though not all characters are... more>> being flesh out. But it's still good to read, as I'm too curious to know more about the other demon lords since their story is much more interesting for me than the current MC and his archenemy.

It's not good to read this one if you want something relaxing, since it's slow. But if you're looking for something serious to read and you can look forward to then this one is OK.
